This is me asking them to remove my event. They ignored it and even posted MORE after -- completely unprofessional.

This venue is a disaster. Bathrooms were filthy and unstocked, furniture was dirty and mismatched, and the drinks had BUGS in them. The "owner" hovered at my event like an uninvited guest, cut our time short, and ignored every concern. Even worse -- after I told him not to, he still used MY decorations, setup, and music to promote his venue as if it was his work. That's dishonest, disrespectful, and predatory. Dirty, unsafe, and run by a scammer with zero professionalism. Avoid this place at all costs.

Sonoran style fish taco special was delicious . Thank you to chef Roberto and to Zuri for excellent service..Our second time here. Festive decor and ambiance. Hidden gem in El Monte off Main Street. Park across the street. The menu mainly features seafood, but they also have enchiladas that you can order and chile verde. They're super flexible so I was able to get shrimp and made enchiladas rather than chicken. I plan to come back and try their shrimp tacos next and their ceviche.

Botana, not fresh tasted refrigerated for days

Honestly has high expectations and was very disappointed. Came on a Friday afternoon, just 1 family in restaurant, sat myself down.. after no one came to greet us. Finally a waitress came by rushing to take our order. We asked for water, a botany and tacos to start, but tacos gobernador had nothing special at taste.. in need of some salsa to compliment. We had a botana de mariscos, also not great, seafood did not taste fresh. Honestly our of everything I ate only the salsa given with chips at first was the only decent thing I tasted. We got regular water in very small cups and were charged for basic tap water.. had I know the charged would of asked for bottle. I also ordered a paloma that basically tasted of nothing but squirt.. couldn't even taste alcohol. Service was rushed and bad even though it was empty.. only checked on us once. Waitress seemed upset when asked for water refill. Another family showed up when we were only couple left in restaurant and they told them it would be a 40 min wait... ridiculous it being empty. Apparently thye had an event at back of restaurant which is why they seemed to busy to have staff in restaurant.. but if you can't handle both, then why have the restaurant open. Will never come back, nothing was great. Surprisingly they are still open.. go anywhere else, believe me you'd be better off.

Great place!! Food and drinks were amazing. We came in for a painting event it was so much fun, great way to spend your Friday night with friends and family. Service was great too.

Tax is 5%. I also ordered ceviche ($19) instead of sashimi ($25)

My wife and I came here on a Saturday night and there were maybe about 3 other tables occupied. There was live music which was great. We didn't see anyone working so we sat ourselves in a booth and patiently waited for someone to take our order. Ended up ordering the botana la palma and ceviche de pescado. About 5-10 minutes later we were informed there were no more fish for the ceviche, so we decided to go with shrimp instead. The service was a bit slow or non existent. Maybe because the restaurant was hosting a paint&sip on the other side and required the waitress' attention. Nonetheless the food was amazing! Seafood tasted fresh and full of flavor. Where it went a bit wrong was when we got our bill. I typically just double the tax for a 20% tip, but didn't realize until afterwards that 1. The tax was off and 2. We got the wrong bill. The botana la palma was $25 and ceviche i believe was around $19, but was charged $25 for sashimi de atun azul. The tax was only $2.49 so our tip was unfortunately lower than intended (sorry, I was tipsy). My fault for not checking, but I was in a rush. Overall, would definitely come back, but will double check my bill.

I thought maybe they were the same restaurant, but they are not. Although they both serve similar bold and delicious Vietnamese dishes. It is located in a small plaza called San Gabriel Gateway. Parking above ground is limited, but they also do have underground parking available. My daughters and I were the first customers. Inside dining space was spacious, cozy, and comfy. Love the quaint Asian street hanging billboard decor! We sat the bench. Staff was welcoming and greeted us right away. They were quite attentive when we needed something during our dining. Thank you All! Menu was huge! Quite a variety of different protein dishes. Prices were average especially for seafood. I am a big seafood fan so my eyes were on them mostly. I wanted to try all their best sellers. I may have missed a few, but we got 11 dishes total which I was very pleased with for the most part. We chowdowned like champs LOL. 31. Razor Clams Grilled with Scallion Oil - First time trying razor clams. An interesting dish, but nothing that says WOW. Taste was fine. 33. Scallops with Quail Eggs - A best seller indeed! Came out on a sizzling plate. PERFECT in its colorful presentation and flavorful taste! Caution when hot. 43. Grilled Squid with Chili Salt - One big squid all sliced up! Love the grilled taste, but squid itself was a bit chewy. 57. Sea Snails in Coconut Milk - Coconut milk was smooth and creamy. Slightly disappointed on the small snail size. Not much meat. Will try another snail dish next time. 65. Charcoal-Grilled Beef - I didn't try it because I don't eat beef anymore. My daughters loved it though. Tender and wonderfully marinated beef slices. YUM! 67. Stir-Fried Glass Noodles with Crab Meat - Similar to the fried rice version, but just with glass noodles. Good, but rice was better. 76. Hong Kong-Style Salt & Pepper Chicken Cartilage - I'm not a fan of chicken cartilage, but salt & pepper seasoning was well balanced. 88. Fried Chicken Gizzards with Garlic - Gizzards were a bit tough. Entire sizzling plate was a tad salty. Wont' get again. 94. Fried Rice with Crab Meat - Quite flavorful and tasty! Perfectly woked and seasoned. A MUST GET! 101. Mango and Squid Salad - One of the best dishes! SO DELICIOUSLY GOOD!! Green mango strips were crisp and crunchy. Squid was tender. Very fresh and good quality salad! 115. Singapore-Style Frog Congee - Cooked in claypot, sauce was a bit salty, frog legs weren't the moistest, probably won't get again Oddly enough, the food item names were in Vietnamese writing on the bill. I had to cross reference the numbers to the items on the menu to ensure the correct items were charged. Anyway, total bill was $222.00 including tip out the door. Scrumptious foods comboed with great service in cool ambiance is worth every penny! Highly recommend. Yes, I'll be back!

We were seated right away when we arrived, although it took a while before anyone came to take our order. We started with the sizzling razor clams, and honestly, they were the highlight of the meal, perfectly cooked, well seasoned, and a great start. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue, and it really missed the mark. Several ingredients felt poorly prepared. The tendon was so tough it was basically inedible and had to be pushed aside. The pork blood tasted like it had been cooked separately since it had none of the broth flavor soaked into it. Even the beef slices felt out of place, almost like they had been pulled from a pho bowl and dropped into the BBH at the last minute. The broth itself lacked the richness, spice, and strong lemongrass flavor that normally makes Bun Bo Hue stand out. It just tasted flat. There was also a mix-up with our order when the wrong dish came out instead of the lobster. When the lobster finally arrived, it was badly overcooked and much smaller than what was shown on the menu. On top of that, the music was blasting the entire time, no one really checked in to see how things were going, and it took multiple attempts just to get our check. When we mentioned the food issues, the response was basically, "We'll let the chef know." Not exactly the kind of service you hope for after a disappointing meal. Really wanted to like this place, especially after such a strong start with the razor clams, but overall it ended up being a letdown.

They have a lot of tables inside so it is great for small and large groups. The waiters were also fast even though they were busy. We ordered their Kung Pao Chicken, Fried Tofu, Beef Noodle, Shrimp w Walnut, and Vegetable w Garlic. We decided not to get lobster since it was pricey. They took our order pretty fast and gave tea to drink. The pot of white rice is extra $1 if you order though. And their menu book doesn't have prices for some reason. Only the to-go menu has prices. Food was served in a decent amount of time, around 15 minutes. And all dishes arrived close together so we didn't have to wait long. The kung pao chicken is so good! Not spicy at all and very nice and crispy with good seasoning. It tasted delicious with some rice. The beef noodles were also delicious! It had good wok taste and was very flavorful. The tofu and shrimp were also good. None of the dishes were too salty and all were seasoned well and in pretty big portions, though I don't remember the exact price since they took the receipt away when we paid. But the meal was very worth and we had leftovers for lunch the next day. Such a yummy meal! I really enjoyed it! I am definitely coming back again!
