You can really tell they put effort into their dishes. You HAVE to try the edamame it was seriously the best I've ever had. So good. The customer service was amazing too. Yamilet took really good care of us and made the whole experience even better. The food came out really fast, which I appreciated. If you like seafood boils and want to eat more vegetables then deff give it a try. The shrimp tacos were so incredible with the chipotle sauce with the refried beans and rice. Fist time, I must say the atmosphere at this restaurant is absolutely great! I loved the live Banda. The staff is friendly and courteous. The food here is absolutely delicious! The service was good, but could have been a bit better. The waitress paid more attention to the men with beer requests (probably because they pay more and that means a higher tip or they're regulars). However the piñacolada had to much ice and their agua de pepino tasted like water and didn't even taste like a regular agua Fresca, I asked for 4 cups of water and they just gave me a water bottles and charged me $3.50 for each water bottle. Could've easily brought my own water from home. I asked for a seafood skillet and it only had 4 pieces of shrimp, too greasy, and it didn't even have as much seafood like the menu said. Lively crowd, excellent live mariachi and banda*, and pretty good authentic Mexican fish dishes. I can understand why Mariscos La Sirena has so many regulars. My guests recommended the combination plate for me, which included mussels, crab, octopus, white fish, clams, and shrimp in a spicy tomato salsa-like base. My guests had Molcajete De Mariscos, which is a heaping serving of pretty much the same thing as what's in the combination plate served in a (what else?) Molcajete (think mortar and pestle, this is the mortar). I thought it was a cool place! The music from the live bands is loud, but I think it's their way of ensuring everything is Mexican, including the air waves. *Oh and btw, I didn't know this but "banda" music has roots in the overlapping of Mexican music with German polka music. What an image that is, no?! Speaking of images, the girls do wear super short skirts. Not sure what law of physics keeps the hemline below the you-know-what. But honestly I didn't think that was distracting (good or bad). It's still a Mexican fish place that could use some better quality fish, and the tortillas were microwaved to fiberglass toughness, but it's worth the price and worth a listen. read more

We almost passed this place up do to the reviews and all of the complaints about the waitresses and the service. But I am so glad that I gave them a try; our waitress Judy was absolutely pleasant and very attentive. The service was very quick and the music wasn't bad at all, actually it was quite fun. Order the Camarones Zarandeados - baked shrimp in a light mayonase/chipotle salsa. Hands down, the most DELICIOUS, flavorful shrimp dish I've ever had. Hate chipotle? Me, too. This is perfectly balanced by the hands of the gods. Soft, succulent, juicy, spicy (not hot), salty... even the free chips n salsa are worthy of being bottled. Thank you, La Sirena! Cuatro Estrellas!!! Mexican hooters has arrived. This is a mexican delight for seafood. The food is good, I love ceviche and shrimp cocktail. I dont take many mexican seafood detours so thats about it. I love the bucket of coronas on ice next to me as soon as I sit down. And the waitress' who bring them are not to shabby. This place plays loud nortena music with other latin styles mixed in but mosty "ranchera" stuff. Well, I'm gonna have to agree with the others on Yelp and say, this place is definitely like a Mexican hooters. This isn't a bad thing, it's just funny... I went to Mariscos La Sirena for a business lunch (yes, strange place to go for a business lunch), but it was near my work. As I walk in to the restaurant for my appointment I immediately notice a lot of men at the tables having lunch. Didn't think much of it, til our waitress came. LOL She was dressed with tight little shorts and very form fitting top. Then I thought, "oh that explains everything" I mentioned this to my friend, whom I was having the business lunch with and he kinda blew it off, like he had never noticed before. Now, none of this deters me from going back. In fact, the food there was quite good. I ordered the carne asada plate and it was perfect! The meat was flavorful and they give you a different type of beans with your meal. I don't know what kind they are but they were good. My friend got the mixed fajita platter and man, It smelled and looked fabulous. I'm definitely ordering that next time I go. The prices were average for a Mexican seafood restaurant. Overall, if you are in the neighborhood with the guys, try it out! If your with the girls... you may want to bring one of the guys with you when you go., so you don't feel strange. Oh ya.. This a great authentic Mariscos place with a great ambiance, great servers and more importantly great food. They have a wide array options from ceviche to pescado zarandeado. Mariscos prices are usually on the higher end but this is fairly priced. Service is on point, they really do a great job of selecting their servers as they are really attentive. Great find! The chips and salsa came with two different salsas, a red and a green, and both were super bomb! The chips weren't fresh, though and some were stale. What made it even worse is that some kid came up to my window and asked to see if i had any change. Nope! Walking in, i was a little hesitant about the food considering we were one of two groups there that Thursday night. They had a Latina waitress working that i found attractive for some reason. Could it be curiosity? Could be because big butts and a Spanish accent kinda drive me wild? maybe, who knows. Fried fish sounded good so i ordered tilapia. Came with tortillas, rice, beans, and a small salad. the beans were disappointing, too dry and tasted as if they added seared ham to it. Everything else was great, especially the rice. I came in with my brother yesterday for lunch. The food was to my liking. Nothing extraordinary about it, but it was a good seafood fix. I got the Sirena Tostada (pretty good) and 1/2 dozen oysters (just alright) that I shared with my brother. Now for the service: Yes, it's true...
