The sauce is insanely savory, a bit thick but paired so well with the dense udon noodle. If you like noodles definitely fit this one in. Negi Toro Roll - Is a stand up throw your glasses across the room good. I hate how much I loved it bc I know I'll crave it. From the moment we sat down, Craig was a frantic mess. Despite only serving a few tables, he rushed around aimlessly, creating a stressful atmosphere. He took our initial drink orders, which turned out to be the only time all night he offered us drinks or was available to take a beverage order. When it came time to order food, Craig immediately began talking down to us. He repeatedly reminded each couple that the sides were large enough to share, delivering the information with a tone that implied we had never stepped foot in a steakhouse before. When I attempted to order two sides to share specifically with my husband, Craig abruptly cut me off to remind me that those sides had already been ordered at the other end of the table. I had to explicitly explain to him that these were for us, and that we were not sharing two side dishes with the entire table. While the food itself was delicious, the execution was completely botched. The birthday girl received the wrong steak--either Craig wrote the order down backward, or the kitchen placed a very poor excuse for an "Oscar style" topping on the wrong cut. Because the steak was cooked completely incorrectly, she politely apologized and sent it back. Craig's immediate reaction was to defensively blame her, claiming she had cut into the wrong part of the steak and that was why it looked well-done rather than medium. It took 30 minutes for the correct steak to return, at which point the rest of the table was already finished eating. When Craig dropped the plate off, he stood over the birthday girl and condescendingly instructed her to "make sure to cut into the middle because that's how you're supposed to do it," lecturing a grown adult and an industry server as if she were a child. It was incredibly rude and awkward. During this hour-long ordeal, I tried multiple times to flag Craig down just to order a glass of wine, but he was completely checked out, wandering frantically around the room without actually helping anyone. The real grand finale, however, was the check situation. Craig dropped one single bill at the end of the night. While we admit we could have requested separate checks at the beginning, he also completely ignored a guest at the end of the table who did ask to be on her own check before ordering. When we asked to split the bill, Craig became visibly aggressive. He snapped at us, saying that splitting the bill between two couples and three singles was "too much work," and muttered, "So basically everyone wants their own check." We tried to calm the situation by explaining that the system tracks by seat numbers, and we clearly mapped out which seats belonged together. Instead of doing his job, Craig threw a legitimate tantrum. He claimed it was "nearly impossible" to figure out who ate what because of the sides, and then aggressively marched around the table, forcing everyone to retell him their entire order because he couldn't read his own messy handwriting on his notepad. He then proceeded to lecture us again, stating, "When you go out to dinner, you're supposed to tell the server before you order that you're going to be on separate checks." We told him we understood, but he remained flustered and disappeared to the POS terminal for 10 minutes. When he finally brought the checks back, we handed him our cards immediately, only for him to storm off and disappear for another 15 minutes. To make matters worse, the manager on duty was absolutely pointless. He stood by, witnessed this entire aggressive interaction, and never once came over to address the table or smooth things over. The management at Charcoal Room should be deeply ashamed of their lack of accountability. Craig has no business working in customer service, let alone a steakhouse. Save your money and go somewhere where the staff treats you with basic human decency.

We arrived for an early dinner --4:30-5p, & were seated promptly --about 5 min., as it was not too busy yet. The vibe was welcoming & friendly, & the ambience very casual & chill, in contrast & irony with the price point for most entrees. This is not meant negatively though: everybody knows fresh seafood is not cheap! Our server was upbeat & informative, explaining the structure of the menu & the all you-can-eat options. Unfortunately, that's where the positive feedback ends. We both opted for the AYCE snow crab, which is served in 1 pound portions in plastic bags. The crab clusters are swimming in whatever sauce is chosen to accompany the legs, of which there are several. You also pick a couple sides with each bag. For my 1st round, I chose the Cajun coconut sauce. Daughter chose the garlic lemon. The sauces were very rich, greasy & salty. There was too much of it, but also, the delicate flavor of the crab was completely dominated & overwhelmed by it. Butter seems to be the 1st ingredient in the sauces; I don't normally complain about butter... but it was SO much, & again so salty. Crab legs are a delicacy that do not require any condiment other than lemon & butter, in my opinion. We could've asked for the crab legs plain. They probably allow that right? But there is no simple lemon/butter option We didn't finish our 2nd bags for these reasons. I felt like I had consumed a stick of butter, & the flavor of the crab legs was lost in the sauce. I started to feel a bit queasy. For that 2nd bag, I chose the "all in" sauce, which is a mix of all the sauces. It wasn't distinguishable from the Cajun coconut. Regarding the sides, I chose corn & sausage w/ the first bag. (They are thrown in to the bag with the legs & sauce. ) Immediately, I knew the corn was a terrible choice. It was water-logged, & covered in sauce. yet flavorless. Over boiled. The sausage was OK: there was exactly 1 bite. We had fries & rice also which were served separately--not in bags. The rice was plain & boring, but that's steamed white. In this context, it was better served plain because again, the overwhelming sauce with the crab legs was more than enough for the palette. The fries were tasty: Crispy & had good flavor. Our service was attentive at first, but became a bit lax eventually. Nothing too bad though.... We had to ask to have our bucket, (for the shells & trash that accumulates during the messy feast) which was overflowing, emptied. I also had to flag down a server for refills on our drinks. It is worth noting that the first round of drinks,, (water for my daughter, Diet Coke for me) was fine: Water tasted good,, & both drinks were cold & refreshing.. My Diet Coke had adequate carbonation, which is not always the case at restaurants! Upon her first sip of the 2nd glass of water, my daughter's face scrunched up, & she looked appalled. She said, " Mom, taste this water. Something's wrong with it. It doesn't taste right. It's gotta be tap water or something...." So I did. I've lived in Vegas for 30 years & I've had all kinds of water here, including the city's tap water, though I don't consume it regularly. This was worse than any tap water I've tasted in any city. I don't think it was tap water--at least not the kind that comes out of my tap at home. I don't know what it was. Dirty dish water or dirty fish water? It was not consumable. We asked for a replacement & received drinkable water once again. We both decided we would not return to Crab 'n Spice. The water was a one-time fluke I'm sure. Even though the service fell off a bit over the course of the meal, it was not below-average, & I liked the friendly server. There's only one reason we will not be patronizing the restaurant again: Sauce. Too much. Too greasy. Too salty. The check was a bit more than most everyday family-style restaurants, but it was not unreasonable considering we both had the "AYCE" crab legs. In fact, it was about the same as what we would've paid for 2 entrees & side almost anywhere. So price is not a factor in not going back. We had a good time and don't regret going. Personally, I wasn't a huge fan of the homemade sauce used on the aguachiles and camarones. The flavor just wasn't quite for me, but that's definitely more of a personal preference. It's a nice size spot it's not too small or big. I doubt if I'd ever go back but it's worth checking out.
