    Mojarra Frita & Michelada

Went in for my first time to get rid of my seafood cravings, the one item I wanted to get was ACTUALLY on the Menu and such an important one, I'm glad I had the Mojarra frita it was perfect. The service was great and the ambiance was awesome. Also tried the camarones revueltos and a michelada. Easily a great spot to go for lunch if you want some seafood!

When we went we were the only table at that particular time. It started to pick up as we were leaving. The music is perfect it makes you feel as if you are at a restaurant on the plyas and there is a groupo playing. It has a semi modern look to the dining area. The food was good the chips and salsa come pre seasoned and we're quite delectable. The food we got wasn't spicy. I wish there was a bit more spice to the dishes but they were still good. Overall, there are a few mariscos restaurants in Escondido and while this isn't the best it is not the worst either. It's worth a visit.

    Camarones Sucios

Food was delicious! I recommend the camarones sucios and the ceviche tostadas. The waitress was nice and attentive.

Best Michelada I've ever had in San Diego!! And I try A LOT of Micheladas! Chips and salsa in the beginning are very tasty as well. Perfect combo. Festive atmosphere! Must try!

The best happy hour!!!! Best service and food in Escondido!!! Highly recommend it

These guys get the 4 for the cooking quality. Calamari / octopus is a hit or miss for a lot of places but both it and the shrimp in the cocktail were nicely cooked. No chewyness. That is a big plus in my book. The ambience and space inside is ample, the view is nice too, even for it just overlooking the street. Nothing I tried screamed crazy good, but they were ok. They know what they're doing, maybe choosing other items could give me better luck.

Once restaurants can begin to profit again post-pandemic, I'm sure they will have the funds for repairs.

Pros: Nice staff. Aesthetically pleasing food. Music. Cons: Restroom needs some deep cleaning, but clean enough to use.

This is all pieces of fat floating on the top, it is NOT meat

Came to this place in hope of some good birria on a Sunday morning, so we decided to try theirs out. The staff was really friendly which is why I decided to give 3 stars instead of 2. The birria on the other hand was not great. It was full of fat, in fact it was mostly fat, and I felt grossed out looking at all the pieces of fat floating. We also tried the quesatacos and they were also mostly fat and the meat was really dry and unflavorful. I would say skip on the birria at this place. Update: changed from 3 stars to 2 stars bc me and my boyfriend both got sick the same night and threw up

Their asada is super juicy with bits of fat and cartilage. Has a nice charcoal taste. The adobada is nicely seasoned and tender with bits of fat. Cabeza was like a super tender and juicy pulled meat. Tripas was super crispy and their quesadillas are super creamy and slightly salty. I've asked before to get tripas and quesadillas more seared and it made a huge difference! They have good red and green salsa. Spicy but not super hot.

I'm giving this place 3 stars for now because my first experience was genuinely great, but my…read moresecond visit was disappointing enough that I almost rated it 2 stars. The first time I visited a few weeks ago, I had a really positive experience. The location was a little hard for me to find, but once I got there, it seemed worth it. I walked in craving a breakfast burrito and was helped by a very nice, slender gentleman at the counter. I asked for a ham, bacon, and sausage breakfast burrito and also requested that it be cut in half. He was friendly, said no problem, and within minutes I had exactly what I ordered. That burrito was delicious. The salsa station was stocked and convenient with self-serve cups readily available, and the atmosphere was nice. The people around me were friendly, and one gentleman even mentioned this was the place that used to be near Peterson's Donuts. Overall, it was a great first impression and I left happy, already planning to come back. Fast forward to today, Saturday, April 25, 2026 around 10:30 AM, and unfortunately, my second experience was the complete opposite. This time there was a young woman working the register, and from the moment I approached, she didn't seem very welcoming. I told her I wanted to order a breakfast burrito but wasn't sure what kind I wanted today. She told me the only options were bacon, egg, cheese and tater tots, or egg and cheese. I politely asked if I could add ham and sausage and pay extra, since that's what I had ordered before. She immediately responded that they "didn't have that type of breakfast burrito." That response confused me because I had literally ordered one there before. I wasn't going to argue, especially because her tone and attitude made me feel like I was bothering her just by asking questions. I then asked if the burrito could be cut in half and never really got a clear response. I also noticed the salsa station no longer had the little self-serve cups available, so I had to ask for those too. The same cashier asked how many I needed, and I said two. A few minutes later, another woman called my name and handed me the burrito. I sat down and realized it wasn't cut in half like I requested. At that point, I had to go back up and ask for a plastic knife and fork just to cut it myself. Which was not a problem or issue for me. I ate half of the burrito, but honestly, it wasn't nearly as good as the first one. The taste was underwhelming, and by the time I left I was just so disappointed. I ended up throwing the other half away after I left. Consistency matters, especially when the first experience set the bar high. The food was great the first time, but the service and quality were lacking the second time around. My honest opinion: if someone is having a bad day, they probably shouldn't be the first face customers interact with at the register. I may update this review depending on how management responds, because I know this place can do better based on my first visit.

There is a table of baked goods available. There is a seating area inside where you can enjoy your meal. I ordered the El Pastor tacos and they were ok. The meat could've been more flavored. And I ordered a side of guacamole for $0.85. I rate the tacos 6/10. The salsa bar was clean and had an option of mild, hot and very spicy. The heat was good on the mild. The area was clean and the server was nice and friendly.
