My favorite dish is the langostinos cooked in salsa Kora, a spicy garlic sauce that's incredibly flavorful and definitely on the spicier side. The micheladas are refreshing and, thankfully, never overly spicy. Some places add too much spice, but here they keep it perfectly balanced. They have a parking lot with a security guard who helps make sure cars don't get hit, which is helpful because the lot is a tight fit. The service is good, though on busy weekends you should expect a bit of a delay when you're ready for the check. I've only visited on weekends, and they sometimes have musicians playing, often taking requests. The music gets pretty loud, so you'll probably have to raise your voice to have a conversation. Ordered the tacos al gobernador which is pretty much shrimp and cheese tacos, also ordered the pescado zarandeado and some shrimp ceviche. Tacos were okay nothing special, ceviche was gross, shrimp was still grey, raw and had no flavor whatsoever with chunks of tomato, cucumber and onions, I kept adding limes and salt but it still didn't make it better because the lemons were old, the pescado zarandeado that everyone talks about is honestly flavorless, Idk what is wrong with peoples taste buds but this right here is not good. It's always a vibe! Mariscos are fire and extremely spicy just perfect for that heavy hangover Lol. Parking is pretty hectic at times but there's always St parking. All the servers are always busy but not to the point of forgetting about you. They all help one another I believe that there's no appointed server to a table. We also order shrimp cocktails which are really good and have many types of seafood. Garish, brassy, ear-shatteringly loud, but equally, a well-oiled machine where servers quickly and accurately turn around orders to a huge floor. My fish tacos at $4 each were really well done, with great crust on the fried fish, nice cabbage pico de gallo, a stunning bright green salsa that sang in the mouth, and all packaged efficiently (yet too much plastic and styrofoam!) The menu consists of a run-of-the-mill selection of trite Mexican standards, by which I mean seafood cocktail in a glass, or ceviche, or fish tacos, or fried fish. Yet they have managed to draw these basic four plates into a four-page menu. Nothing much innovative, but enough feel-good classics and combination plates that make the Mexican patrons want to break out and serenade with the band! (They could stand to tone the volume down a bit!) You go to soak in a vibe of a lake-side cabana in Mexico, and you surprisingly can get it here in south-central LA. The patrons and staff are charming and polite. The cooks are fast and plate up huge quantities of seafood. It's just a shame that the seafood is such poor quality these days. We have emptied the sea with our unsustainable fishing practices and you can see the result in seafood restaurants like this.
