Horrible experience, stay away!…read more This is a review for Eliza at BEL Events for her wedding planning services. We met Eliza at our venue 8 month before our wedding date. During the first session she presented herself well, and she talked and bragged a lot about her 18 yrs of experience in event planning and stories about how she handles wedding situations. So, we thought she is the right event planner for us and signed a contract. After signing the contract and making the payment, she was very hard to find and we did not see the expected action from her side, and every time we followed up, her response was: "don't worry I will manage everything before the wedding day". We were asking for the basics of planning such as timeline, vendor recommendations (a few to choose from) and communications (which was part of the contract) but not no action except a quote of her own rental service. We were getting closer to the wedding date and her lack of action made us so worried and very frustrated. Eventually we had to get involved and did almost 90% of the work ourselves. She was very hard to find but even when we could talk to her, she would create more unnecessary problems to an extant that my wife had panic attacks after a few meetings we had with her. 2 month before our wedding she caused so much anxiety and frustration that we decided to end our contract with her and find another planner. Thankfully, our new planner was amazing and our Wedding planning went very smooth after that, and the event was as wonderful as we could imagine! With way lower cost than what Eliza had proposed! After I requested to cancel the contract she disappeared and never responded to our emails, which is very unprofessional. Here is a list of a few issues from our experience of working with here: 1- Accessibility: every time we had a question or needed to talk to her, it was taking several days until she gets back to us. With irrelevant excuses, like she would show me her busy google calendar! 2- Push to use her own services as vendors: Per her contract she had to suggest different vendors so we can choose. But since she has rental and flower services, she was arguing so much to stop us from even looking at other options! She charges unnecessarily expensive! By doing a little research, we found our vendors and saved at least 50% with same or better quality! 3- Nonsense arguments and rude attitude: In many occasions she was just insisting on holding the event the way SHE wants, without paying attention to our request or desire. Every time we requested something, her answer was: "I don't want MY event to be that way or I don't want MY guests to be that way"!!! With a condescending attitude emphasizing that "I have 18 yrs of experience and I know what to do"!!! Any simple request would become a long story and unnecessary argument. In one occasion my wife requested that guests throw flower petals while walking out of aisle, and she immediately said: "No!, you can't do that, I don't want my cleaning crew spend time on cleaning the petals"!!!! In another occasion Eliza was insisting on only using her recommended valet service (which was quoting more than double the price of the service we eventually used) and on top of it she was forcing us to rent extra parking lot out of venue and pay extra for shuttle service!!!! While the venue had enough capacity! And when I respectfully said: I am confident that the venue has enough capacity for parking, she got very angry and said: "in that case tell all your guests to use UBER and they can't drive their own car"!!! It was a nightmare working with BEL Events and I don't recommend her service due to lack of professionalism and decency in her business.

Her and her team's attention to detail is elite. When some of our signage (the bar menu, welcome table, and memory table signs) arrived and didn't align with our vision, Cynthia's team didn't blink. They stepped in and custom-made the signage themselves to ensure everything was perfect. She was also completely flexible with all of my custom requests, including some special party favors where her team completely over-delivered. We also commissioned a few custom items as well; Cynthia and her team truly can do it all. They even gifted a shadow box of some of the custom details they created for us :') But what truly sets Cynthia apart is her heart. My mom mentioned in passing how much of a BTS fan she is. Knowing how complex that ticketing system is (IYKYK), I didn't think twice about it but Cynthia did. She somehow tracked down two tickets, which allowed me to surprise my mom. It had nothing to do with wedding planning and everything to do with how deeply she cares for her clients. There are probably a million things her team handled behind the scenes with the utmost professional care. I would not hesitate to hire her again for any future event. Wedding planning is so stressful and I never had to worry about a single thing, she went above and beyond to make sure I was not stressed and happy. With our venues in mind (our local public park for the ceremony, a patio at our HOA's community center for the reception, and an after party at our home) and only 6 months until our selected wedding date, we went to Leilani Social to ask if they could help us make it happen. Kim was assigned as our coordinator, and took the challenge in stride. Another team member worked with us and Kim as a designer, and soon they helped us develop a cohesive vision and start thinking about the logistics, securing vendors, and making the many dozens of small but critical decisions to make our wedding day feel like us. Kim met with us many times leading up to the wedding date, coordinated all of the vendor communications by email, and always made time to address our questions and concerns--no detail was too small. She helped coach us through selecting rentals and the minute-by-minute plan for the day, and when we needed to pivot last minute to doing DIY flowers to save money, she supported us through that, too! This review would end up the length of a novel if I tried to cover everything, but just to give a couple examples: Kim helped us design custom drink menus for our reception, found alternatives for glassware and decor when we found out we couldn't have glass or open flame at our venue, and made sure we got a refund from our rental company for the few small items that were missing (which we of course, never even knew about because the Leilani Squad just handled it!). The day before the wedding, Kim met with us and our bridal party to run an efficient and helpful rehearsal, exuding competence and kindness while making sure everyone was ready for the next day. On the wedding day, four amazing Leilani Social team members were present to make it all happen. My day as bride started with a sound bath hosted by one of Leilani's wellness vendors (the wonderful Stephanie with Soul Sounds Alchemy) for myself and my bridesmaids. To be completely honest, I was a bit skeptical at first (especially since it meant we'd have to start our day earlier) but it ended up being so lovely and grounding (thank you, Danielle and Stephanie!). My "lady-in-waiting," Lulu, was amazing, and she spent the whole morning with us, keeping us on track time-wise and helping with all of the little things that came up, like steaming the skirt of my dress. Kim worked tirelessly to transform our blank canvas venues into the magical settings we had envisioned together for ceremony and reception. Arriving at the spaces and seeing our vision realized was an amazing experience. But as bride and groom, our hope was to truly be in the moment and enjoy the day, and Kim, Danielle, and the rest of the Leilani Squad made that possible. They took care of everything, arranging our many DIY elements, receiving each of our many vendors, making sure our guests got from one place to another, and responding to the inevitable hiccups so that the two of us could just enjoy each other, our guests, and our beautiful celebration. As a note, Kim was the last to leave the reception site hours after we did, making sure everything was in top shape and transporting extra drinks and supplies to our nearby home for the after party. She was a champion, and went above and beyond for us. It was truly the best day of our lives, and truly wouldn't have been possible without Kim and the Leilani Squad. Looking for guidance while wedding planning is SO stressful - it's hard to know where to start, especially planning a destination wedding (we live in Northern CA). We had our venue and our photographer but nothing else, so, being the researcher I am, I hopped on Google and began searching for "best planners in Orange County." I found a few options, Pure Lavish included, and started submitting inquiries. I wasn't sure about what kind of support we needed. I think when you start planning, you're like "I can do everything myself and only need minimal support." I was SO wrong - more to come on that. Pure Lavish stood out immediately. Carrie, the owner of PL, was the one to respond to my inquiry with a customized, non-robotic, hilarious email that acknowledged my silly inquiry about not knowing what I needed. That interaction was a huge selling point for me. She quickly set me up with one of PL's planners, Samantha. To say that I clicked with Sam would be the understatement of the century. Her bubbly energy and openness made me feel like I was talking to an old friend. She was so knowledgeable and so helpful in answering my questions about what kind of support we needed. In my original budget, I didn't plan on including a wedding planner, but I quickly realized just how important it was to have an expert as our guide along the way, as well as a creative lens to help with design. We signed with PL almost immediately after and didn't think twice. Over the next few months, it became clear just how well-connected PL is in Orange County. She identified all of the right vendors for what we were looking for and what our desired spend was for each part of the wedding. I ended up not doing anything myself and outsourcing everything because we loved all of the vendors so much. The network that PL brings to the relationship is probably one of the biggest considerations you should make as a bride. My mom and I made a few trips down to Southern CA to do live planning, select rentals, tastings, etc - it was SO awesome to see Sam in her element and to experience vendor relationships live. PL has such a stellar reputation in Orange County - that was abundantly clear every time we met someone new that we were working with. No trip to OC will ever be complete without seeing Sam! The time, energy, and excitement that Sam contributed to our wedding were truly incomparable. Her design board and ideas based on my feedback were absolutely perfect. We incorporated 100% of her ideas into our day and made our guests feel so special with all of the personalized recommendations that she made. The attention to detail, the command of the wedding party to keep things in line, and the ridiculous organization skills that she possesses are what defined the overall success of the weekend. On wedding day, the PL team showed up in FULL FORCE. We were so honored to have Carrie there to support us, and our bridal concierge Caroline was the definition of "being in the right place at the right time." A MIND READER!
