Updating my review post-wedding. The restaurant still gets 2 stars but the wedding event was much smoother. We will start with the good. The food was much much better in the kitchen dedicated to the wedding! We had plenty of guests tell us how good it was, especially the steak carving station and the Korean bbq appetizers. They kindly placed food in the bridal suite for us because they knew we would not have much time to eat. My husband's steak main course was delicious. My chicken was good, thought it was slightly dry. Our 3rd entree was the brined salmon and we were told it was good. The woman (blonde, tall, Eastern European and I forget her name) who was in charge of timing and keeping things smooth during our wedding was very good, we had a little mishap and were delayed a bit but she helped keep things calm. My bridal attendant asked many times if I need food, water and was very attentive the whole night. They were accommodating about changes we made to the layout of our ceremony. The not great. The bridal suite does not lock and there is no safe, which is frustrating because it's a wedding and there was plenty of money that we had to have family carry around to pay vendors with. I also did multiple dress changes and had different pieces of jewelry worth 6 figures that I had to give to my mom to keep because there is no other safe place for it. Someone did dump out the contents of my maid of honors bag and take her charger- not sure who did that but it wouldn't have been an issue if the bridal suite locked. The other annoying thing that happened that was not the venues fault was that our coordinator left for a new job in the middle of planning so Maritime Parc gave us someone new. Defenetly not worth the money we paid. The food was good but not exceptional I guess the view makes up for it. The service was bad to us only a few tables and we waited forever in between drinks starters and our main plate. My partner picked the filet mignon that was good and I got the seafood pasta dish that was very disappointing. The seafood in there didn't feel fresh at all and over cooked also. I really wanted a dessert but they brought us the bill before we could order it. We really felt like we didn't belong there as a minority... Won't go back and won't recommend it to anyone read more

The part of liberty state park where maritime parc located was fantastic! With a great weather, the surrounding greenery, and the view of harbor and lower Manhattan just give you a relaxing moment. Portion of food need to be improved, especially the octopus brunch entree. We had to stare at the dish to tell which is potato and which is sliced octopus. Seafood tower was a okay. Holy smokes. This place was swanky and classy. Now, you will never find my in NJ unless it is for a very good reason. But trust me, it was well worth it. This place is right by the water and located inside Liberty State Park. It is spacious and beautiful. You can see the harbour from the inside and the decor can be described as modern and warm. The lights really show this place up. Now, I was waiting for (ahem) my party and they were 1.5 hours late. I had to leave by 7pm, so I didn't get to eat with the crew. I knew they would be late so I sat at the bar and had some drinks and snacks. I loe sitting at the bar, enjoying a cocktail and having a few tapas. I started off with a San Saba. Wow oh wow. One of the best cocktails I have had..and it was in New Jersey. Man, New York you gotta step it up. This is made with tequila, pineapple, jalapeno puree and lime juice. It has a bit of a kick but gosh it went down smooth. I love spicy cocktails and this one was up my alley. So good that I had two! I didn't want a full meal as I was headed elsewhere, and food might have been in the plans, so I ordered up a fluke carpaccio and a bread plate. The fluke was absolutely divine, marinated in olive oil, with caramelized grapefruit, basil and caviar. I am speechless. It was just that good, and it was a large portion. The bread platter is complimentary. They gave you a huge basket of assorted bread accompanied by salt and butter. It also comes with a picked dish which consists of cheese, fruit and onions. It goes well with the bread and also the carpaccio. I am definitely coming back to have more food and when I have a craving for another San Saba. Fantastic view of lower Manhattan...yup. Casual attire with great outdoor seating...yup. You can bring your dog...yup. Best brunch in the area...yup. After ordering some Bloody Marys we were brought out some bread, butter, salt and a dish containing a vinegary concoction of cheese, watermelon, pepper and cantaloupe. This is a fantastic start to an end of the summer meal. We began with a dozen raw oysters. They were offering 3 or 4 different varieties and we went with the Malpeques. They were perfect. Wife's main dish was a tomato and watermelon panzanella salad with prosciutto. She loved it but wished they had listed on the brunch menu that it includes prosciutto. I had the Mangalitsa Pork Burger, Smoked Onion Relish, King Oyster Mushrooms, and Gruyere Cheese. Surprisingly, the chef's recommendation is to have it cooked medium. Normally, I am a medium rare guy. I went with this advice and found the meat to be dry. We had two side dishes too. The first are the Mash Potato Rings with a Mustard Fondue for dunking. These things look like donuts! They were outstanding and YOU should order them. Our second side was the Crispy String Beans and Spicy Sauce. They are lightly fried string beans with a remoulade sauce. At this point we were stuffed but had to try the Key lime parfait with white chocolate and mango bonbons. I've been wanting to try this restaurant and Travelzoo had a great deal. Check this out, you get: -2 glasses of wine -2 apps -2 entrees -2 desserts - coffee/tea All this for only $65! And mind you, this is creative quality food served in a chic restaurant overlooking Manhattan. With this deal you had to order off of their pre fixe menu, but there was a nice selection of both apps and entrees. So we got there about 20 mins prior to our reservation and had a drink at the bar, which is a must. They have some interesting signature drinks which are made with fresh quality ingredients. If you like a little spice in your cocktail then you have to go with the San Saba. What a refreshing drink made of tequila, fresh pineapple juice, jalapeño purée and lime. They also have a real nice craft beer selection if beer is your thing. They start you off with a bread basket accompanied by a dish of a bruschetta type mixture, along with sweet butter and a little sea salt on the side. (nice little touch) For apps we had the grilled oysters with a bacon cream sauce and grilled octopus with pork belly. Both were amazingly delicious! I went with the black bass served over a bed of chopped Brussels sprouts, leeks and bacon. Beautiful fillet and wonderful combination. My gf had the braised short ribs with scallops. Super tender rib meat and nice firm succulent scallops. Although it wasn't included we also had an order of the duck fat fries with garlic and parsley which was well worth it. Even though the fries weren't consistently crunchy, the duck fat flavor made us forget about some of those soggy fries. Finished off with 2 tasty desserts: butterscotch parfait served in a cool little mason jar and a toasted coconut bread pudding served with a little scoop of butternut squash ice-cream. Attended a wedding here last night. Make no mistake, the views are stunning. The wait staff is great and attentive with one exception. Beautiful building and decorations. It's a high class operation, but a few things could stand improvement. Same chairs are used for the wedding and dining, wooden chairs with thin cushions are very hard on the butt. They really need some high quality chair cushions. You move to a different room for the cocktail hour and appetizers and this place suffers from a common problem for wedding venues. Not enough tables and seating during the cocktail hour. Salad green plates come and are not a traditional salad but some aromatic greens with pears. This may appeal to some but certainly not all patrons. They should stick with traditional salad and not try so hard with fancy stuff that many did not like. Entree choices were chicken or beef tenderloin. I asked for a tenderloin medium well, waiter says no problem we can do that. The meal comes and the meat was medium rare, even though I asked the server if it was medium well and she assured me it was. I suspect everyone's meal is cooked the same, which I understand for a wedding, but tell me that up front. Served with mashed potatoes, good, and spinach, ok. Plates of little pastries come and they are so so, seem like a little stale and defrosted from frozen. Then servers bring around little pieces of cheesecake, which were still frozen. Update on Weekend Brunch: Good: all the dishes ordered were quite good sans one or two. We went to celebrate my husband's bday with a group of friends. Group ordered a variety of drinks from beer to strawberry mint lemonade. I didn't try any of the drinks but none of my friends really enjoyed them. So skip the teas and stick to beer or coffee. Brunch entrees ordered: -Crab Cake, fried egg with grainy mustard vinaigrette - Goat cheese, spinach, potato frittata - Salmon Burger with a side of French fries - Scallop Burger with a side of French fries - Fish and chips - Omelette with gruyere, mushrooms and caramelized onions Sides: Fried Green Beans with spicy aioli. The most liked entrees were the frittata and the crab cake. The crab cake was pretty big one a bed of grainy mustard vinaigrette and sauce gribiche, topped with the perfect fried egg and greens. The frittata was sumptuous as well. The scallop burger was a decent sized scallop patty with potatoes and some herbs served inside a brioche bun with corn mayo. My friend requested it without the bacon and seemed to enjoy her dish. My deism who ordered the salmon burger didn't have any complains either with his dish. Bad: The least successful dishes on the table were the omelette, which was under seasoned and the fish and chips. The fish was not crispy, was greasy and the chips were overdone, leaving a bitter aftertaste. Ugly: nothing The two hostesses were pleasant this time around, which was a welcome change. Really, $20 for the Thurs beer-burger-oyster deal is fantastic and you will leave very full. -1 star is due to service... the place had a good/normal # of people but nothing crazy for a Thursday night. Lots of empty tables inside, so it wasn't like there was a bad rush. We were seated outside and waited 10 mins with no waiter coming over, so we finally had to snag someone. The rest of the night felt pretty disorganized... we had to wait a good amount of time to get drinks/oysters/ketchup/etc. with no explanation, and sometimes having to ask twice. Our server Chris though was awesome and tried hard to be super attentive despite us not even really being his table... he salvaged what seemed like bad organization on the restaurant's part and made me way less disgruntled. This is my new favorite Thursday night spot. The oyster, burger and beer deal is literally too good to be true. The service is fantastic we never felt that a waiter was far away and never wanted for anything. They go above and beyond to make sure that you feel that you've been accommodated. We visited the restaurant about a month ago on a slightly chilly night the servers got out the heaters so that we were able to sit outside comfortably. What really stands out is the food. For the Thursday night deal you don't just have one option for burgers there are four different options. All unique and tasty. The oysters were fresh and there was a great wine selection! I've been to Maritime Parc twice now. Once for brunch and this past Friday for dinner. I made 8PM reservations just to play it safe but there were still a number of tables available when we arrived so reservations don't seem to be necessary. What we ordered: duck fat fries, mash potato rings, crispy green beans, MP burger and sea scallops & braised short ribs. The apps/sides were delicious! And all that fried goodness made me feel like quite the glutton. I didn't love my scallop and short rib dish. It was good but the sauce was just off for me. (I don't remember what I had for brunch but I do remember that me and my two friends thoroughly enjoyed our meals. And we are picky!) The service was great. We got our good promptly and didn't have to look for our waiter. The decor is great. Its not too casual but not too dressy either. I definitely noticed that it was an older crowd than a lot of restaurants downtown. And when the weather's nice, make sure to sit outside. You get a lovely view of the water and liberty state park. All in all, it was a good meal and I would def recommend Maritime Parc. It's a little out of the way but definitely worth it! read more

Visited here for friends meeting. Nice view here - you can see the statute of liberty from this building. The night view is also awesome. You can valet parking over there. There are also roof top bar that you can enjoy. The catering is good, service is also good, but the facility over there is a little bit outdated. I think they are now doing the remodeling now. I came in for the Thursday night oyster and burger special. $20 gets you 6 oysters, a specialty burger, fries, and a glass of wine or beer. What is a specialty burger? Consider a scallops burger, a salmon burger, a pork burger, or a beef burger with some fancy fix-ins. The oysters were very good and tasted clean. I am always on board for a good oyster. I chose the scallop burger. It was topped with a bacon and corn mayo. After one bite, I could tell they used the highest quality ingredients. It was absolutely delicious. The fries are prepared with duck fat. They were fine, but the best side was the fried green beans. Splurge on those, its worth it. Somehow we found the room for dessert. Their chocolate pudding was very rich and worth over-stuffing my stomach. No regrets here! Also kudos to great wait service! read more

When my best nyc gal told me she was getting married I was ecstatic for her! A few months later when she said "we're getting married in Jersey," I may have made a face. Jerz, really? Hey, I'm just being honest. But then she told me about the site. The Maritime Parc. Set in the lovely Liberty State Park, on the Hudson River, with views of downtown Manhattan. I was, like, half sold on the idea. And then it was wedding weekend and I arrived at the Maritime. And I could see firsthand why the happy couple chose this spot. The staff was fantasic. The bridal consultant who hung with us all day/night was amazing. She made sure the bridal suite was clean and stocked with drinks, she pulled in a portable AC unit for us when we complained we were hot (I'm not sure if it was the floor length gowns, the heat... or all that champagne), she made sure we had food during cocktail/photo hour, she gave me fair warning that my maid of honor speech was coming up and made sure to check in with everyone in the bridal party several times throughout the night. I really wish I remembered her name, goshdarnit, because she really was awesome. The space itself was beautiful. The wedding took place upstairs in The Aviary (3rd floor) with a huge picture window showcasing Manhattan and when we went downstairs to The Sky Room for the reception that view was not lost. If anything the balcony wrapping around the 2nd floor took it to another level. Bartenders = rockstars. Maritime Punch is a must have. Dinner = delish! Vegan cake = so good I may or may not have stolen an extra bite from the guy next to me. But it was my Hubs so that was OK. :-) There were only a couple things that bothered me about the site/space. 1) The reception room is an odd shape. It wasn't a rectangle, L or U shaped and because of this photo booth and DJ booth seemed to be floating in the middle of nowhere but were blocking the window too. Just a bit awkward. 2) The Maritime is a bit hard to get to. Be sure to pay attention when you come out of the Holland Tunnel... left turn, right turn, around the corner, another left, past the shopping center, cross over Grove St, around the marina and there ya go. The ferry is the best option for coming/going during the day... but after the sun sets you either need a car or to walk it on over to the Path. The whole thing is confusing and a bit exhausting. My colleague and his wife had their wedding reception here this past summer. The venue/event space was spacious and beautiful. There are stunning views of Lower Manhattan and the bay! The staff here are very warm and friendly! For the meal, we had the following: - First Course: Heirloom tomato, burrata cheese, olive oil, and microgreens - I really liked this because it was very simple, yet delightful too! - Entree: There was a choice between roasted chicken or beef tenderloin. I chose the beef tenderloin with bordelaise sauce, sauteed greens, and truffle potatoes. The beef tenderloin was moist, savory, and on point! Everything really came together - Wedding Cake (vanilla cake with espresso mousse filling, and raspberry sauce) - the cake was pretty good and moist, but a little too sweet in my opinion. Overall, my boyfriend and I really enjoyed the reception, service, and views here! I hope many more friends consider having their wedding at this venue because I'd like to come back for the beautiful view of Manhattan. read more

Oh compromise! Compromise is all about give and take but there can be no give and take on fundamentals. This how I feel about Martime Parc. Yes, the view is spectacular but the service and food was subpar. The night started with myself and two other ladies. It was an awkward five minute wait by the host. One of them happened to be a restaurant week menu and We noticed it wasn't really a " good " deal so we all opted out. By this time our waiter came back again. There was no intro about himself or the restaurant and no ambition in learning if it was our first time or not, so he quickly read the specials to us. I then asked for drink specials and his recommendations. He had no clue. We all played it safe and ordered our usual. Glass of Pinot Grigio, Henny and pineapple juice in a highball glass and margarita on the rocks. It all arrived in timely fashion. Happy. waiter forgot who order what. Disappointed. Moving along with the food. We all shared everything! Here's the breakdown: Octopus ala plancha Braised rabbit Grilled swordfish MP Burger with duck fries Unanimously we agreed the following: Duck fries were not crunchy- more of a mushy bite. Temperature of the burger was not satisfied as requested. Swordfish was overcooked. Very hard and dry. The veggie broth the swordfish laid on was not impressive at all .It lacked robust flavor. The meat on the rabbit was not tender enough yet the seasoning deserved appreciation. We took pleasure in wiping cleaning the Octopus dish. The Only one that swayed us. The later service with our waiter required excitement. We were not sure if the waiter was tired or born with a type personality B. As a night recap we ordered a corn dessert with ice cream. non-thrilling. Our last groan of the night happened when two managers sat behind us and decided to smoke in plain view of their guests. How impolite and unprofessional. My highest recommendation is to avoid this location at all times. Don't compromise good food and service just for a view. This restaurant hit it out of the ball park!! WOW on all counts including service, food, cocktails, and dessert. Oh, and let's not forget the view of the boats and NYC skyline. Celebrated a birthday here and made reservations on Open Table. Arrived a little late due to traffic but had called ahead and a lovely young lady on the phone assured us it would not be a problem. When we checked in at the front podium, a gentleman noted that we had requested outdoor seating. Thanks for noting that- I was impressed you read the request! The outdoor seating was perfect on this lovely summer evening- my only complaint would be that our table was directly in front of a desk which housed the computer system and extra silverware, so there was a lot of traffic there. Our waitress get's an A+ for answering our one million questions and for being extra informed and honest about the menu. She nailed it on all of her recommendations. Drinks: San Saba- a spicy tequila cocktail garnished with a pineapple leaf. Excellently refreshing and a nice kick. Appetizer: Beet salad with ricotta and pistachio sauce. AMAZING. Perfectly roasted beets and what an interesting combination with the ricotta cheese. Entree: Their version of a surf and turf- short ribs and scallops. Scallops were well cooked and the short rib, while small, was tender. Dessert: Waffle, ice cream, peaches and pecans. Delicious and just sweet enough. I enjoyed my meal and my friends seemed to enjoy theirs as well, besides the chopped salad which they said was over dressed. We rushed to get there and we got there at 6:45 and wS told there weren't any oysters left. And it was clearly all there. Just was really lazy to serve them. Also the prices were the same. Although this review is based solely on the brunch menu, I can't imagine the dinner offerings being any less magnificent. After you place your order, you will be offered a dish of pickled melon, onions, feta and fruity olive oil along with a dish of fresh Balthazar (I believe) bread. YUM! Thought it's very difficult, try not to fill up on these complimentary items. My favorite menu item is the crab cake. Admittedly, it's not LOADED with crab meat but there is definitely enough to please and the flavor is crabby. I love that it's a very delicate cake. The crisp and vibrant "salad" atop is a delight. The scallop burger is a true original (I've never seen anything like it). The bacon in the sandwich is generous and so, so flavorful. It also comes with a healthy portion of duck fat fries seasoned with Parmesan. My favorite sides are the duck fat fries, crispy string beans, and oh my god the blueberry ricotta donuts. I booked this restaurant for my 21st wedding anniversary, and requested a table with a nice view of the NYC skyline in the reservation. On the day of the reservation, I was called and asked if they could push my reservation 15 minutes later, and I accommodated. I figured there would be valet parking, but there was nobody outside, so we self-parked. When we arrived, they said they didn't have any tables available in the restaurant with a view, and they offered to seat us outside. We did that and the view from the available tables was part of the marina in Jersey City and some bushes. We had to stand up to see the city. This view on their homepage is very zoomed in. The table was tiny and the seats were cheap plastic. After we were seated, 10-15 minutes passed before we were brought water and gave our drink orders. We ordered our food then, too, since we figured service was slow. The draft beer and wine took another 15 minutes to get to us. More than a half hour later, we received our entrees - nice presentation, but my filet mignon was over-cooked and not particularly hot. So we came here for a Sunday brunch (02/21) and enjoyed everything. The service was good... the food (their MP burger for me and my wife had their Lobster Mac/cheese) both which were very good. The burger was actually a bit too rare, but I just dealt with it. There was a good amount of lobster in the mac n cheese too, although the macaroni were tiny pieces of pasta. Kinda like made for kids. Still... it was very good. Not sure what all the fuss is about the duck fat fries... they were good... very good even, but the way people have been reviewing them, I was expecting more. Ahhh... could be just me. Prices were pretty good. Perhaps a bit high for burgers, but in their defense, they do serve high quality beef and pork. Never heard of Mangalitsa pork, so I need to go back on a Thursday for their burgers/oysters/and beer night... all for $20. Oh, we also had a Bloody Mary, which were also very good. After lunch we walked around for an hour. There's a really nice area (and nearby too) to stroll about, take pictures (NYC skyline is RIGHT THERE!) and just hang out. read more

Enjoy a nice dinner here. The atmosphere there is very nice and elegant. You have a nice view of the New York Skyline. The food is great! The Parpardelle, Winter Kale Pesto, Olive Oil Poached Root Vegetables is just AMAZING! The Mash Potato Rings, Grainy Mustard Fondue is very good also. My fav was the dessert, Deep Dish Apple Pie, Cinnamon Ice Cream, Crispy Apple.. make you wanna slap somebody! LOL!! The waiters and staff there are very nice and friendly. My fiance and I came her for Hudson Restaurant week and did the prix fixe menu. Here is what we ordered: Appetizers- Roasted Cauliflower Soup, Pan Roasted Mussels Entrees- spiced duck breast, Seafood Pasta Desserts- Hazelnut Honey Cake, Chocolate Brioche My assessment: Bread and Pickled dip (thumbs up), Soup (ehh ok), Mussels (excellent). Duck Breast (ok - hoisin sauce was a little too much), Seafood Pasta (very good and tasty - also plus for colorfulness). Both desserts (ahmazing!) Service was good and you can't really go wrong with this place for the view. Overall I recommend this place. Food was very good. Not sure I would go back though for regular prices. read more

Looking for a classy place in Jersey City to impress your parents or significant other? This is your spot. Count on good views, excellent food and decent booze at Maritime Parc. It was the perfect setting for Easter brunch with my fiance, and future mother and sister in law. We had to wait for about 10 minutes past our reservation, but the host said it was because he was preparing a great table for us to best accommodate our 4 month old niece and accompanying stroller. And a great table it was - in the corner, with a wine rack behind us and views of the Freedom Tower and Lower Manhattan. Doesn't get much better than that! The brunch menu was EXTREMELY reasonably priced for the quality and setting. Additionally, no fixed price or upcharges for the holiday which was appreciated. We were served a large bread basket to start with the most delicious olive oil, feta and beet mix. For my main, I ordered the omelet with gruyere and caramelized onions - delicious ($12). My cocktail was OK - pamplemousse and prosecco. The table service itself was just OK. It seemed to be unusually busy so I understand why. Definitely eager to come back to Maritime Parcfor to try their dinner, or to bring my parents back for another brunch. Definitely worth checking out! Much better than MANY brunches I have enjoyed in NYC for half the price! And one of the best brunch experiences in Jersey City. read more

Don't come here expecting a good experience if you want to sit outside. They have few tables in the shade & then a bunch in full sun with no umbrellas. The hostess is rude & not accommodating at all & ruined a special birthday. Don't come here if you want to sit outside. They have had over a year of COVID & should be able to accommodate better. read more
