I love dr gentile and Steve! This place is so welcoming and they truly care for my kids!

I cannot speak highly enough about Dr. Gentile, Dr. Steve, Nurse Andre and the staff as a whole. I saw Dr. Gentile as a child and now take my 4 kids there for the last 10 years. They are absolutely incredible.... So gentle, never rushed, remember things about our lives and converse with us, never pushed vaccines, answers all questions I have in depth, everyone always has a smile on their face. I have always, always referred everyone I know to Dr. Gentile. You will not be disappointed. Side story: my cousin just had her first baby 5 days ago and went to another practice since she wanted a female for her baby girl. This doctor was so rude and basically told her she was doing a terrible job keeping her baby alive (by the way she's doing amazing and is such a loving mom) that she left the office so upset she called Dr. Gentile and got an appointment an hour later. They got her in with Dr. Steve right away and when she called me after she raved about how amazing they were and put her mind at ease with all of her concerns for her new baby. This is how you treat a new mom, not put them down and make them feel incompetent! My kids love them so much they even make it on the thankful tree every year (unprompted). We've been taking our daughter here for a year and a half and love everything about this office. We have always been able to get a same day appointment if there is something wrong, they go out of their way to squeeze us in. They've worked out medication issues with our pharmacy. Dr Gentile never makes me feel rushed and welcomes any questions and the front staff as well as the nurse practitioners and assistants are extremely kind and helpful. read more

I have never done a review, but I feel like I should at this point. My kids are 19 and 17 and we've been seeing Dr. Gentile and Steve since they were born. Have been taking all my kids to Dr. Gentile's office for 20 years now and am so disappointed. Had to call 3 times to reach Brandy (in charge of billing), she would not return my calls. I questioned 2 charges for my daughter. They charged $75 for Steve to call me to tell me the results of her knee xray, a 3 minute call! Charged additional amount during her annual exam because when he asked her how she was doing she mentioned 2 things she was concerned about and they billed for those 2 things separately! What is the point of having an annual exam and handling things all at once? Have decided to take all my kids elsewhere. Office staff is rude and not helpful. Only one nurse there (a man) that is extremely nice, always helpful, and friendly. read more

Steve is seriously the best! He has been our pediatrician for almost 4 years and both my sons adore him!

I love, love, love their PA Steve. He's the sole reason we still go there. He knows my kids and is great about relating to them on their level without talking down to them. He takes as much time as necessary and talks about their activities, etc. with him. When my daughter was very young, he heard a problem with her heart that no one else did. We took her to a cardiologist and even she couldn't hear it, but when they ran the ekg, they found it. Without him it would probably be a 2 star rating. Dr. Gentile is OK, but seems to car more about his ministry than his practice. He doesn't seem to be in the office much, which is fine, since I always request Steve anyway. read more

Dr. Gentile really cares. I'm really perplexed as to why his average rating is under 4. Due to a blood condition my baby had to get weekly blood work done at Mercy Gilbert and Dr. Gentile was on top of everything - he called to let us know our sons results after hours and he would write several prescriptions for blood work so I didn't have to go back to see him (even though he would've made more money if I came in). I'm thankful to have found such a great pediatrician. Not pushing the shots either (he respects your views). Steve is also great and very friendly. Before my son was born I'd seen him a couple of times with my other kids. read more

I have been taking my daughters to Dr. Gentile and his associates since he had a smaller practice in Chandler. Even though for us, it's a longer drive, it's well worth it. It is very easy to make an appointment. There have been a few times when my daughters had health concerns that needed immediate attention, and Dr. Gentile's staff was gracious enough to accommodate us and squeeze us into their schedule. I really get the feeling that they value my daughters as patients. They understand that going to the emergency room or urgent care isn't always the best option time-wise and financially. Dr. Gentile and his staff has always been there for us. They also have a very clean facility that includes separate waiting rooms for well and sick children. They have flat-screen TV's in both sides, which really help alleviate kids from getting too restless. I love the staff and the level of care that they provide. I would recommend Dr. Gentile's office for anyone in search of a friendly, caring, and knowledgeable pediatrician. read more

We absolutely love Dr. Gentile and his entire team! We have always had a positive experience. Even when vaccinations are involved. The staff is kind and caring. I've never had to wait to get in. My friend had to wait DAYS to get her sick child in at a different doctor's office, and it made me so grateful for Dr. Gentile and his team. They ALWAYS get us in same the day, even if it means working us into their busy schedule. Seriously amazing people. They genuinely care about their patients. We've been coming to this office since they moved here in 2007, and saw them at the old location prior to that. I've never been a fan of Dr Gentile himself, but his PA Steve Snesko is wonderful. I'm sure Dr Gentile is a great person and a great Dr with many years of experience. But he and I just don't see eye to eye on certain things. Steve has never judged my decisions or 2nd guessed my mother's intuition. In fact, one of my kids was constantly sick as an infant. While another PA, a NP and Dr Gentile all ignored my concerns and wrote me off as a paranoid mother, Steve took the time to listen to what I was saying, he understood that I know my kid better than anyone else and helped diagnose her correctly. Once we did that, problem solved! Steve recognizes us and remembers details about my kids when we go. He'll ask one about school or soccer. Or he'll remember that one is a Girl Scout. I love that he's about my age, has kids my age and gets where we are, because he's in that same place in life. It's usually pretty easy to get in for sick/same day appointments, especially if you call first thing in the morning. For all of the well-child visits, so long as you call about a month in advance, I've had no trouble getting in at the time we need to (birthday, milestone, etc). A little planning on my part goes a long way. I always recommend Steve when anyone asks. read more

Best Doctor for my boys for the past 18 years. He's caring, informing and filled with knowledge for the body & soul. Dr. Gentile has been a staple in our home and we've respected his opinion & views. He's made us feel like our boys were his only patients while they were being attended to. We also value, Dr. Steve. He's a treasure and a good presence & voice. My boys are comfortable and eager to have their visits with, Dr. Steve. This practice is a great one. They know our kids, and they're here for our kiddos. Just 15yrs ago, I was shopping in a popular store and my little one was running down the isles and without missing a beat, Dr. Gentile was there and reconized my little one. He said, and knew my Son's name and picked him up and returned him to me. I will never forget that. Of all the kids in this store, he knew my kiddo. He simply said, he knows all his kids. Amazing. My son has been going here for years and the staff is always rude and unwilling to help, lazy with even there own responsibilities. Every time I call they place me on a long hold and when they finally answer they take my contact info and say they will call me back. When I changes insurance they were not willing to call and get the info they need to bill them, instead they refused to see my child until I provide this info. Both my HR rep at work and the insurance company told me this was something they should have been able to do. Once I finally get in for my sons shot, and provide them to the school, they state that the doctor missed one of the shots, this is huge inconvenience, because instead of them letting is come back and fix there mistake, they make us set another appointment! This is crazy! Don't waste your time with taking your kids here, lazy staff doing the bare minimum! read more

After calling to check the status of my daughters referral, the completely unknowledgeable staff put Dr. Gentile on the phone where he begin to blame ME for his staff not being able to do their job! Both DR Gentile and PA Steve have been great to my sons. I've been coming here for 4 years and both of my boys had stomach issues or severe eczema, they were there step by step until we figured out how to solve the problem or they referred me to specialist. It was so nice being remembered and treated with respect by everyone there when I was going through a lot emotionally with my sons stomach issues at the time. I have never experienced anything bad going here besides the first couple months back in 2014 one of the receptionists wasn't the sweetest but other than that my family enjoys coming here. read more

Dr Gentile misdiagnosed my daughter which made her end up in the hospital. She had a UTI that ended up leading to a kidney infection. I informed him or her symptoms and that I thought she had a UTI, he assured me it was an ear infection and sent me on my way. Later that afternoon her fever reached 107!! I called the doctors office and spoke to the nurse and she told me to put her in the bath and give her Motrin. What?! 107 is so high, that nurse should have told me to get my daughter straight over to the ER! The next day I took her to the ER because I knew something was wrong. The ER staff informed me she had a kidney infection and was very dehydrated. She ended up staying at Carson's children hospital for 2 days. Never ever will I go back to dr gentile. He is a nice man but he needs to listen to the mom. My daughter was way to sick to have just an ear infection. even at our follow up visit he said he still didn't think she had a UTI. We love Dr Steve! --update 7/24/13-- In all the years we have been coming here we have not had a single issue, until they hired the new woman up front. I believe her name is Siri. Today took the cake, but before that a little back story. We have called for the 6mo appointment for Lily Mae for the past few weeks. Every day she answers and gives whatever excuse she can think of. Computers down, no appointments for two weeks, she is too busy right now, I have heard them all. Finally my wife gets us an appointment today at one two four zero, yes, one two four zero. Seriously, who gives the appointment time like that? Siri does, that is who. Then gives you an attitude and acts like your ignorant when you clarify. After making the appointment she asked what the appointment is for, and when she hears it is for a six month checkup (daughter is now seven months, took that long to get in) she gives my wife the third degree for getting her in late. Remember, we are only late because their have been "no appointments, computers down, I don't have time for this right now" for the past three weeks. So, we get to the appointment thirty minutes early. Those with two or more kids know, its thirty minutes early or thirty minutes late, there is no happy medium. Check in and get things going. Siri (first time I have met her in person) informs me that my insurance is cancelled. I advise her that it is not cancelled, there has been an ongoing issue with my insurance and they had to remove and re-add Lily Mae as her birth date was incorrect in their systems. She gives me an attitude and tells me that I will have to pay the bill if the insurance company does not pay. I let her know, again, that they will pay the bill and I am already aware of the issue. Most would leave it at that, but not Siri. Oh no, she must seek the "truth"! About ten minutes later I hear her blurting out my insurance ID number. She was on the phone with my insurance company to verify my insurance before she would let us go in for our appointment. Unbelievable! So the insurance company, who has not yet been informed by my employer of the changes to the birth date (all of this transpired this week) tells her that Lily Mae is no longer on the plan (duh, I just told you all of this). She tells the agent "thanks, I knew there was something going on, we'll put a stop to this" and hangs up. Giving me a dirty look she calls me back up to tell me that the doctor cannot see me unless I pay for the visit. Game over, no more being nice. After giving her a piece of my mind another woman up front came out and I stopped addressing her. Within a few seconds of talking to this other woman she understood the situation and got us back on track. Siri was not having any of that and started her mouth back up, glaring, and LAUGHING at me. At this point I was done speaking with her and informed them I would be leaving their office and would not return. As I was getting the girls things packed up and watching as Siri sat in her chair watching us and smiling as if she just did something grand I chose to stay in spite of her. She is not an accurate reflection of this practice, everyone else is great. I jump on the phone with my benefits department at work and they confirm Lily Mae is insured within a few minutes. I have NEVER had a claim not go through at their office. My kids have both went there their entire lives. To treat someone that loyal like they are the scum of the earth is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. To call a patient a liar that has been with your practice since the start and go as far as calling in benefits for a wellness checkup is far beyond excusable. My advice to Dr Gentile and the rest of the staff, get rid of this CANCER before you lose more patients. If she is here with this attitude when I come back for our nine month checkup, we will not be back. Now, to be fair, the star rating is down based solely on this person. Without her, this office is still a five star. With her here, the positives do not outweigh the negative she creates. Dr Steve and the rest of the staff were quite apologetic for her actions, but they should never have to be put in such a position. She has no business in the position she is in, she needs to be tucked away in a cubicle somewhere handling TPS reports and speaking to no clients of whatever business she is working for. read more

So glad a friend referred me to come to this office. The office staff is so nice. The MA is also so friendly. Steve is the nicest guy! You can tell he is very passionate and loves kids. He makes you feel so comfortable and heard. My daughter even liked him and she is very weary of men. He is a very gentle soul and kids can read that. Went to this office for my child since they were born. Over the last 12 years it has tremendously declined. The office staff treats you horribly as well as your children. The best asset that Dr Gentile has is Steve his practitioner. If the staff allows you to speak with him or book an appointment. This office used to care and was fabulous but now ... not so much. I took my daughter to Dr.Gentile's office and she saw Dr.Kelly (she must be new,I newer saw her before) and she gave her an antibiotic assuming that she has a UTI. She told me to give it to her and if they call me back with negative results I can stop giving her antibiotic and if it's positive to continue with antibiotic. So I called the office the next day and left the message for the triage nurse ,I never received the call back. The next day the same thing, left the msg., and around 4pm I was thinking they are closing soon so I called again and asked how long does it take for a nurse to respond??? I then was put on hold till she find out what the lab result is. She came back to tell me that they didn't receive the lab results yet. They will probably be here tomorrow (Friday) and they will call me right away.Do you think they called???NO!!! So, I am giving my daughter antibiotic maybe for no reason, we don't know if she has a UTI and there is weekend coming, meaning it's been already 5 days of the treatment. After the weekend i called with my patience lost and of course the same procedure, leave the msg. for the triage and she will call back. I guess when you sound frustrated they call right away. I received the call five min. after leaving the msg. The nurse said that the urine sample was NEVER sent to the lab, it was to little and that somebody probably threw it in the trash. Why they didn't tell me this before??? If it was too little I could have come back the same day (not after 7 days!) and leave another one. Right??? The nurse said to come back and leave another urine sample again! Oh, and I don't need to set up the appointment! What relief!!! read more

We have been using Dr Gentile/Steve going on 7 years in June. This office is absolutely wonderful! Very confused on the reviews about difficulty getting an appointment. I have never been more impressed at the ease of getting same day appointments. My daughter has never seen an urgent care thanks to them. I called last week at 1:45 and they had her in by 2:20. She was treated for flu and ear infection. They are terrific and gentle with kids. Very sympathetic and willing to listen to any concerns. My daughter actually enjoys going to the doctor. I have agreed with all treatment routes and they have been spot on. Never had a billing issue ever. Highly recommend! read more

Very very disappointed in this office! My son has been going to the office for 14 years. I took him there about 1 yr ago because he was sick. Dr Gentile gave us a prescription because he had an ear infection and red throat. As we are walking out the door my son said he was really thirsty so Dr Gentile asked up to go back to the room. He then tested his urine and was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. So he gave me a prescription because he couldn't find anything wrong with him! and then proceeded to tell me that he didn't have to go to the hospital that night that it could wait until the next day. It's a good thing I didn't listen to him!! We went to the ER and his blood sugar was over 1000. I changed pediatricians immediately!! read more

Dr. Gentile has been our pediatrician for 12 years, however the last year has been horrible. Getting an appointment is difficult as I have to book months in advance. We always arrive early and continue to wait 20-30 minutes after our scheduled time. The last time I was here with my son for his inoculation we waited 30 minutes to then be told the vaccine was not in stock. We were reschedule 5 days later. We go back and get rescheduled again. I had called to confirm they had the vaccine and the office confirmed that morning. Someone dropped the ball. In addition to this we were billed for 2 office visits. we were credited begrudgingly after contacting the insurance company and the billing staff. My disappointment is in the service and the front desk staff. It appears understaffing and overbooking are the root of the problem. read more

Dr. Gentile and his PA Steve have always been great to our family. Dr. Gentile was my pediatrician as a child and is now my daughter's. There is not any other practice I would bring my daughter to. Both Dr. Gentile and his PA Steve, the nurses, and the staff have always treated us like family and have always cared well for my daughter. We are called and reminded of our appointments a few days in advance. All of ur questions and concerns have always been respected and addressed immediately. read more

We have been taking our daughter to Dr Gentile since birth. She is now 10 months. We have had a positive experience every time with Dr. Gentile. We only had 1 negative experience at the Gilbert office with a different doctor at that location. She told me I needed to give my very large baby (9lbs) formula when I was solely breastfeeding. I didn't like that at all especially since I told her that I didn't want to do formula. I decided not to take her advice and see Dr. Gentile instead on our next visit. I was referred to Dr. Gentile by a friend and have had nothing but positive experiences with Dr. Gentile and his staff. There's a few reviews that mention misdiagnosis, while I can't comment on those because I don't know the details, there is no such thing as a perfect doctor- or one who knows absolutely everything. One child's whimper may be another child's excruciating pain. We will definitely continue using Dr. Gentile. read more
