Ok it is now 4.5 hours passed my surgery appt. And I am feeling pretty good. My husband and I arrived about 20 minutes early for my appointment. Was quickly greeted by Diana at the front desk, she's very sweet and she's friendly. Had a few papers to fill out, hubby waited with me while I signed. At my appt. time, they escorted me back to the surgery room, was asked by the dental hygenist/assistant hooked me up to the blood pressure machine and Dr. Pledger came in while she hooked up my IV line. They both made me feel comfortable and relaxed, explained once again the procedure and asked if I had any questions. After making sure I was taken care of, Dr. Pledger went out to the lobby to inform my husband of the plan and while my hubby went next door to burger king to eat (big jerk :) ) I was put under and my 4 beautiful wisdom teeth were extracted. Seriously felt like a few mins. Had no pain when I woke, didn't feel too groggy either. I am home and resting, still not swollen and when I look in my mouth it is in good shape. My gums that were cut to accommodate the remainder of my tooth is clean and doesn't look like it was cut at all. Dr. Pledger explained to me during our consultation a week or so ago that he was going to try do to the operation without the use of stitches if possible because recovery time was longer and it's a bit more painful. And he did just that. No stitches and I feel good. I have taken my antibiotics and my motrin. I may take the pain meds just tonight but so far I don't need them. I cannot say enough about my short but positive introduction and visit with Dr. Pledger and his staff. Truly genuine staff in caring for their patients, office is cleaner than any I've seen, besides my regular dentist, great location and staff is professional, friendly and knowledgeable about the procedures they offer. I have had teeth pulled on prior occasions from other oral surgeons it was painful and the experience was rough and created a lot of anxiety. Since going to Dr. Pledger that experience has completely changed. He has pulled several teeth and placed posts in preparation for implants. I feel so comfortable that I have no anxiety about going and stay completely calm during the procedure. Absolutely NO pain even with a local and the procedure was quick. I was pretty apprehensive about getting my first real surgery done. My wisdom teeth were coming in and began to cause me pain. I was only 19 at the time and decided I'd take the grown-up steps to take care of this myself. I made appointments to get X-rays done and find out what I had to do to get those 4 puppies out. I found myself led here (this is what my insurance could afford lol). I am beyond pleased that everything was beyond my expectations. Everything from the receptionists, to his aids, to the recovery, A+++!!! As mentioned before, I was apprehensive about the whole "going under" part, however, Dr. Pledger reassured me everything was going to be okay. Also, they all answered my questions with care and accuracy. I left that office every time feeling more confident in my decision to go through with the procedure. Love this office staff and Dr. Pledger is the absolute best! On a Saturday night I realized that a metal plate and screws in my lower jawbone had started coming through my gums. I had been in pain for a couple days and I was going to schedule a dentist appointment (thinking it was my teeth). I called Oral Surgery Associates of Temecula Valley Monday, and they got me in immediately. Dr. Pledger had to drill and remove the plate, drill through a screw, etc. Because my jawbone had grown over some of the plate, it required an extensive procedure. Dr. Pledger explained what he was doing and why every step of the way. Had zero pain during the process, and though there were multiple stitches, very minimal pain after the anesthetic wore off. The entire office staff was friendly, professional and did their absolute best to accommodate me A.S.A.P. Super welcoming, caring and kind. Dr. Pledger called me that evening to see how I was doing and if I was in pain, etc. Wow. First time a surgeon has ever personally called me to see how I was after a procedure. Not on your life will I ever go back. I had 3 teeth pulled and 2 dental implants put in. The first hole he over-drilled into the bone, making the space too big for the implant, so he drilled a smaller hole next to it. The pain from the implants was intense! The whole side of my face hurt! I went back one week later, told him what was going on and he didn't refill my pain med, telling me only to take ibuprofen which wasn't helping much. I would wake up in tears at night, waiting for the ibuprofen to kick in. I didn't much sleep. Since my jaw hurt, I tried not to talk. I was told to put hot and/or cold presses on my face, but I couldn't even touch that side of my face, let alone apply something to it. Even touching my face made the pain hurt more. After 2 weeks, I did call his office and asked the receptionist to tell him how much ibuprofen I was taking, but he either ignored me or didn't get the message. I finally couldn't take the pain anymore and stopped cold turkey from taking the ibuprofen. By the next day, I was finally starting to get some relief. The ibuprofen was actually making the pain worse. And when I mentioned the implants were sensitive to cold, he responded that there is scientific evidence that the implants are not sensitive to temperature. Don't tell me what I am feeling. I know what I feel...I could care less about scientific evidence. There is also a lot of evidence from other people across the web who still have that same temperature sensitivity. I told him I would never go back to him and I won't. I don't like doctors who don't respond to a patient when they say they are hurting. And I won't go back to the doctor who recommended him either. He needs to learn to LISTEN to his patients, and respond accordingly. read more

Pledger is a true professional. What else can be said here? I was a very fearful patient who needed an extraction and bone graft. When i say fearful I mean, so afraid that i have to go that i couldn't get good sleep for a month, I was just plain not myself anymore. Pledger walked me through the entire procedure, answered all my questions (extensive detail makes me less nervous) and walked me through my fears without being at all condescending. Many of us do not like to go to the dentist, myself included. My regular dentist found a cracked tooth and referred me to Dr. Pledger's office for an implant. I was not looking forward to going. My apprehension was unnecessary. Doctor and staff felt like friendly neighbors, easy to get along with and still very professional. Quiet rock music made me feel at home - no elevator music here. The fees are reasonable, and a cash discount was offered when asked. The procedure required several appointments. I never waited more than a few minutes to be seen. Minimal discomfort and pain, far less than expected. Complete care instructions were provided. Dr. Pledger even made a follow up phone call the evening the cracked tooth was extracted. My wisdom teeth have been causing me issues for years. I've been putting it off because I'm terrified of going to the dentist. I was referred to Dr Pledger's office by one of my buddy's who have been to him to have his wisdom teeth pulled. So I made an appointment which was very easy and was seen a week later. Dr Pledger and his staff are very nice and made me feel at ease for my situation. They explained everything very clearly and set up an appointment for the procedure. Had the procedure done the following week and I was difficult patient (shitty veins for IV, woke up mid procedure, difficult teeth) but Dr Pledger and staff took care of everything. That night Dr even called me to explain the procedure and go over post op directions. I just got back from my one week follow up and once again everything was super easy. I highly recommend this office for any dental or oral surgery needs. The Doctor and staff are seriously top notch. I'm not good with names so I'll just say the whole staff was great. Let me start this review by saying thank you to Dr Pledger and his staff . I recently had the worst luck of having a molar crack in half at midnight . Hands down pretty uncomfortable pain from a dental perspective . I called several dentists in the local area and not a one would see me based on a variety of reasons. As I called around, several dentists told me that I should see Dr Pledger as he was the best for my situation. I figured four dentists recommendations can't be wrong, so I called ! From my first call to the office with Diana to the last goodbye she was caring, attentive , responsive and just amazing . Above and beyond describes her attention to my questions and all of this was prior to me even being seen in the office ! Upon arriving at the office, I was in some pretty nasty pain. The staff at the office recognized my discomfort and quickly came up with an alternative to my specific needs . Dr Pledger came into talk to me and was welcoming , educated and very knowledgeable about what he thought was the best course of action to get the comfort I so desired . He told me like it was and to me that's paramount for trust ! I had no uneasiness and knew I would be A OK once we got "cracking" so to say ! When it came down to crunch time the dental assistant was very down to earth . The mood was very easy going and helped ease some jitters we all experience during dental procedures .I spent most of the time joking back and forth which made me feel at ease. Lastly, the procedure itself was quick and easy . Of course there was some ouch moments but that's to be expected . After having some complications and several return visits which was an inconvenience for me. Dr Pledger became very short with me and asked if I had lost confidence in his office. I had said that, "yes with him" because at my last visit he seemed confused as to why I had returned for my follow up visit where he had spent 30 seconds with me. Upon stating that he said that we should part ways which was just a clever way of getting rid of me because I found out when going back to my dentist that he was supposed to do a final follow up and send my hardware for my implant they needed so I also had to reschedule with them. read more

Overall a great experience, considering that I wasn't looking forward to getting all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled at 34 years old. We did a full consultation before the surgery date, where Dr. Pledger and his friendly staff went through what to expect, answering any questions that I had. My youngest daughter was with me for support, and Dr. Pledger gave her a "light up tooth brush" and one for her big sister. The day of the surgery went good and I highly recommend getting "put to sleep". Dr. Pledger was kind enough to call me at the end of the day to see how I was doing, which I felt was very professional. We were referred to Dr Pledger by our dentist for our son's removal of all four wisdom teeth. We knew this was the right doctor after our consultation. He explained everything to our son in a way that he would understand and answered any questions we had. My son liked him a lot and that was very important to us. His front and back office staff are awesome as well. My son had all four wisdom teeth removed and did absolutely amazing. He had very little pain and very little swelling. We followed the doctors instructions and gave him 800mg ibuprofen every 6 hours and let me tell you it worked perfectly and he never even had to use the prescribed pain pill. He said he would call to check up on him in the evening and he did. I told our son he called and his response was "tell him thank you". When we went back for the one week follow up, the doctor was amazed at how fast he was healing and said he was the "poster patient". I said, "I think it has a lot to do with a great doctor". Thank you Dr Pledger and staff for making this as easy as a surgery can get and for making our son feel comfortable in your care. Great experience!! I cant be believe i'm saying that...I had a tooth fracture and was referred to Dr. Pledger by my dentist. I'm not usually the best patient as I get anxiety and my blood pressure goes up as soon as sit on the chair. The staff at this office made feel at ease the minute I scheduled the appt. I met with Dr Pledger two days before my scheduled procedure (extraction #1). Arrived on Friday checked in sat down and was in and out of the office in less than 1/2 hour. Dr. Pledger gave me a call on Friday evening to see how I was feeling. Today is Sunday and I'm feeling very good, no swelling or any other issues so far so good.. They were able to fit me into their schedule this afternoon, due to a emergency request from Precision Endodontics, because of a potential need to have a tooth extracted for a Biopsy. Due to his Expertise and with my past medical history, he advised against the extraction and referred me back to my Ear, Nose, Throat Specialist Dr. Greek. All I can say is wow. Dr Pledger and his staff are amazing. My son went in for a 3 wisdom tooth extraction. The doctor and his staff explained everything that would happen from start to finish and aftercare on consultation. The day of the procedure they reinforced all the teachings. They send you home feeling comfortable to care for your loved one. This is huge for me, I work in the ER and communication is huge to me. Dr Pledger even went above and beyond the call of duty to call of duty to call and check on my son the same evening without a blocked number, so that I could call him back if need be. I was referred to him for iv antibiotics and a very swollen mouth. I was in sooo much pain i was ready to go to the hospital and die. Lol. The staff made me feel welcome and he fixed me right away. He suggested treatment on the spot. When we had to call the next day asking questions (i was sooo out of it while i was told what to do) they were so patient and kind. I had my follow up today and i feel almost normal. Thank you!!! So thankful to have found this office.
