The place is run by dental hygienists and I have never seen the same dentist twice. Highly recommend! I had a few cavities that needed to be done and as usual I was nervous because usually getting cavities filled is a very painful ordeal. But I can pleasantly say I actually felt nothing, no pain, no rough pressure. It was actually very easy going. This place is so shady! I had Delta Dental HMO last year and brought my family here to get dental care. We had previously seen a dentist for over 10 years with my husbands insurance and never had any issues or were recommended any significant type of treatment. This place quoted my husband over $15,000 worth of treatment, said my 12 year old daughter needed her remaining "baby teeth" pulled, said I had multiple cavities and recommended over $5000 worth of treatment , and recommended sealants on my sons teeth at $70 a tooth that my insurance covered. My husband was so upset he got into an argument with the "sales person," for trying to scam us. Fast forward to a year later, my insurance is now a PPO. My daughter saw an orthodontist and they said she doesn't have ANY baby teeth and looked shocked when I repeated what Gentle dental said. What teeth was Gentle dental going to pull? Her adult teeth?!? She hasnt lost any teeth since her visit with GD. So scary to think about. The rest of the family saw our new PPO dentist and what a shocker. I used to love this office and had no issues until they changed doctors. I would never recommend this office anymore. Staff was nice however when it came to my exam with Dr. Evert Cowan he made me feel very self conscious about my teeth. Gentle dental have lost their name "gentle" with this doctor. He was very aggressive and caused so much discomfort poking my gums. I've never had any dentist be that rough. After that he criticized the color of my teeth and said I need to whiten them. I disclosed I do whiten them and he basically called me a liar saying "I don't believe that, there's no way" To top it off he was speaking loudly to his assistant saying how bad my mouth is and brought more insecurity about going to the dentist than before. He claimed I had a huge cavity and needed a root canal. So, I called murrieta dental group and they saw me in for a second opinion the next day. This doctor did not hurt my gums at all and was very gentle. He said I did not need a root canal and said he can work on my tooth to save it that day. No pain and very pleased with them and brought my anxiety down. If you're looking for a caring and gentle dentist stay clear of Dr. Evert Cowan! He is a factor of why people fear dentists. read more

If you are nervous about going to the dentist, this is 100% the dentist you should go to. All of the doctors are very nice, very nonchalant about even the worst cases (I know because mine was pretty bad). They treat you with kindness and make the whole experience feel very unimportant, which is good when you feel like you are one of the worst cases they have ever seen. The staff is lovely, kind, attentive and gentle. The last dentist I saw was greedy. She insisted every patient have a documented treatment plan. In my case she call out a "loose" molar that needed to be extracted and a lower bridge that had only been in place for 17 months as needing to be replaced. I have seen two dentists since. Neither of them found a problem with the molar or the bridge. Unfortunately for that practice, you only get one shot at cheating me. read more

So I saw another dentist months ago and they found no cavities. This place said I had 3 cavities and my son as well, none of which would be covered by my insurance because they were supposedly in the back. And the new dentist found no cavities. I asked them to make sure because your outfit was committing fraud if that was the case, recommending treatment for something that doesn't exist. They confirmed that I have no cavities so Gentle Dental is even more sketchy than I originally thought. I haven't brought my son in yet to confirm that the cavities were fraudulently reported, but if they also come back unsubstantiated and false, I will go to whatever authority that governs them and will report the fraud. Dr John was thorough in his exam and the dental assistants are very nice. He found several issues with my teeth that my previous dentist had not pointed out. They were helpful in answering all of my questions regarding the procedures & the front desk associates were extremely kind. Great customer service getting you in and out on time. all work being done is explained throughly. I had an emergency with a filling falling out and had some sensitivity. I was allowed to come in on short notice the next day earlier that morning. I am so greatful to get the not only that issue resolved, but another filling was needed and both was done in one visit. Please be advised that this dental group is shady and is a dental practice to be avoided at all cost. I first visited there in October 2022 and todate, I am still dealing with issues that I had then. In addition, the doctor refuses to correct my problem with a crown that was delivered in February 2023. Shr said that she has done the best that she can do and for me to find someone can do better. What about compensation for my pain and suffering for 14 months and the price to have someone else fix the problem with my crown that she refuses to rectify? Also I called the corporate office in La, and they never answer the phone. I checked California State Board and they have several owner names and some licenses and locations the licenses are not active. Don't say that you were not warned! read more

Horrible experience 1st I was told they took my insurance to come on in. Then we discussed my benefits that I had 1250 benefits per year. They told me they did not charge for x-rays and the only thing that would cost would be my cleaning 149, so 149 should've come off of my 1250 benefits. I got a bill with hundreds and hundreds of dollars of charges for x-rays. I called and talk to Robert and he assured me it would get taken care of and he would call me back. He never called me back so I returned the call. He said he would get it adjusted and I would get a new bill stating I didn't owe anything. And I received a new bill stating I owed money again. So my opinion the billing is really off he shouldn't be billed until after the insurance has paid their part. Then I was told I needed a crown because it had a crack even though I had no pain or problem. So I agreed to the work they said it would be $800 and that would come off on my 1250. They did the crown, and I started to get bills saying I owed all this money again. So I called again and it's still in process of being looked at. This is also unprofessional for me as I've been a avid dentist customer for years going twice a year faithfully taking care of my teeth. Then my crown started to bother me when I drink cold stuff and I didn't wanna say anything because I had so many problems with the billing already. Then I decided to call them and tell them they had me come in and adjusted. It took literally five minutes. I left and the same thing occurred so I called back. They made me an appointment to come in and look at it again. Meanwhile, I got a phone call from the dentist, Dr. John and he assured me that I have that pain in my new crown because I grind my teeth at night and I don't wear a night guard. He said I didn't need to come in. I think that whole thing is ridiculous that he told me that as I had no pain in this tooth prior to this procedure. Plus I think if you put a new crown in someone's mouth, they should not have any problem with a brand new crown. So anyhow, I'm not returning there And will be going to another dentist. So if you have any kind of Medicare dental insurance, beware before you go. read more

Stay away!!!!! My son had 3 extractions and was sedated. He called Gentle Dental ahead of time. He provided his insurance information and asked them to confirm his out of pocket cost. They told him he would only need to pay $372.00 out of pocket cost. On November 2019 he began to receive a bill for $685.30. I contacted the office and left 4 messages. NEVER RECEIVED A RETURN CALL. Until finally I spoke to Hailey about the outstanding invoice on December 30, 2019. She put me on hold and spoke to Robert the supervisor and got back on the phone to tell me. That Robert would submit the invoice for a correction to the corporate office because it was an over charge. They would take care of it. NEVER GOT RESOLVED. I spoke to Robert the supervisor over the phone on January and he told me the same thing. The invoice would be summitted for correction to corporate office. He will take care of it. Today 2/25/2020 I walked in the office since the invoice has NOT BEEN RESOLVED. Robert the manager is telling me. My son owes the money. It was the difference on the insurance charge. He never submitted the invoice for a correction like he and Hailey told me previously he would! It's very upsetting because he says they only give estimates and how could they possibly quote him $372 and now they are saying my son still owes $685.30. Robert offered to pay 1/2 of the $685.00 I believe they should cover the entire cost since they had said it would be taken care of. read more

They have the best staff that genuinely cares for me and my family's dental hygiene needs and most importantly our well being. From routine cleanings, fillings and braces for my daughter, I couldn't ask for a better experience. Although they are extremely professional, it never feels like we are just patients to them.
