I never leave reviews! Or a bad one at least but for this matter I feel an obligation to tell my experience and to warn other customers ESPECIALLY parents... took my 4-year-old daughter to Promenade Dental Care recently because one of her fillings had fallen out, leaving a hole in her tooth. This wasn't her first visit to this office or with Dr. Nguyen she actually loves the dentist and was looking forward to the appointment. On their website, they proudly advertise that they work with children and have good reviews, so I felt safe bringing my little girl there. Big mistake. Dr. Nguyen said he would fix the filling without any anesthesia. When he started working on her tooth, she naturally got a little nervous and reached for my hand. I walked around the chair, held her hand, and gently reassured her that everything was okay just like any caring parent would do. Out of nowhere, Dr. Nguyen got visibly agitated and annoyed. Then he suddenly leaned down right into my 4 year old daughter's face and screamed at her to stop moving!! I was in complete shock. I immediately told him not to scream at her and that he had no right to speak to a terrified little girl that way. He finished the filling anyway, but the damage was done. As soon as we left the room, I expressed my complete and utter disbelief, shock, and dissatisfaction to the staff. I am absolutely disgusted by this so-called "children's dentist." If you don't have the patience to treat small children without screaming in their faces, then why on earth do you advertise that you specialize in pediatric care? My daughter was traumatized by a man who is supposed to help her. We will NEVER return to Promenade Dental Care, and I will never recommend this office to anyone especially not parents with young children. Save yourself the regret and find a dentist who actually has compassion and patience for kids read more

I came to see Dr. Nguyen for a second opinion because VA wanted to do an implant after the would-be tooth extraction of one of my front teeth: it was broken to my gum line. He gave me an honest opinion of my situation and my options, and thankfully he was able to save my tooth! He has modern state-of-the-art equipment and, most importantly, is honest and a skilled dentist. I would have been toothless for months, but Dr. Nguyen was able to find a thoughtful solution and creatively re-crowned my tooth in a week. The receptionist was friendly and Dr. Bao was professional and attentive to my questions and needs. He examined me and told me that the other dentist was crazy for wanting to change me $750x3 treatments for things I didn't need. I posted a genuine bad review on several items at this office including the fact that I was never told by this office that my referral would include an out of pocket cost. The Owner is this business yelled, spoke over me, even when I was genuinely just communicating that I wish I would have been told before this office made me a referral appointment that this specialist didn't accept my insurance. This dentist then decides to comment my dental history which is proving my point of how unprofessional he is and is completely now lying about me missing appointments. I am completely confused. I was always on time, even early to every appointment. Even for my specialist appointment I was there on the day they scheduled the appointment and now this doctor is commenting saying I missed three appointments? I am completely confused. This Doctor office can confirm they did not have accurate phone number for me when I checked into my appointment and apologized for not being able to call me to confirm my appointment, so he is lying saying they left my voicemails if the office themselves said they didn't have the correct phone number for me. He is so upset someone left a bad review since after every appointment he asks you to leave a good review that now he is trying to tear apart my character for one bad review. Don't go to this office. He also mentioned I threatened him which is not even my character over $200. Like I told him, (I never yelled or spoke over him like he did to me since I had my husband in the car and was a witness to this) I just wish before they sent me to a specialist told me this doctor will not be accepting my insurance. Dr Bao has all the latest modern equipment. Plus he makes crowns and bridges right in his office, finished the same day. I just had a bridge made by him. It was finished within a couple of hours. I have a couple of crowns he did, too. I did a little grocery shopping within walking distance, while I waited for the bridge to be made in his special tooth-making machine. Super happy with my dental care here. Unfortunately had to have a root canal and crown. Amazing that he was able to do it in the same visit. There was no need for a temporary crown and a return visit. Dr. Nguyen informed me at my consult that it would be a long visit but could be done same day. He has the technology to make the crown while you wait! I haven't even needed to go back for an adjustment or to have it filed down. The crown continues to fit well with no residual discomfort. Great job doc! All in all, I am very pleased with my care. Both my boys enjoy coming here (as much as one can enjoy a dentist visit) and we will be back in a couple weeks for my son to have his wisdom teeth pulled. I had a filling in a front tooth fall out on the July fourth weekend and Dr. Nguyen got me in early on Tuesday. He took xrays, filled the gap, and cleaned my teeth and I was out in an hour. No pain, and he did it at a reasonable cost. I would recommend him to everyone. read more

The cleaning they charged my kids were $60 each , which the dentist named as periodontal maintenance in the receipt (higher than the regular prophylaxis,) yet it took just about 15 minutes to finish. Doctor Nguyen said that I should be happy the kids are not being charged deep cleaning but that I myself need to have deep cleaning which would cost me $364. I asked the difference of deep cleaning and regular prophylaxis and he said the regular one is only polishing while the other one, they need to remove tartar and plaque build up. Well, don't we all go to the dentist to clean those that we missed cleaning ourselves? I asked how long the deep cleaning will take and he said 30 minutes. Well, I've had good regular cleaning done for close to 30 minutes or more, tartar, plaques removed and I'm not being charged for deep cleaning. When I talked to Dr. Nguyen about my concern, he seemed impatient to explain. He said," well I have more patients to take care of...etc" My kids also said the cleaning was painful. These were big kids and this is the first time I've heard those comments from both of them. Now I know why the office was almost empty the whole time we were there. I do like the receptionist Deanna. Suggestions for future customers: When you go there or to any dentist to get your consultation and Xray, Make sure you know the cost beforehand. Bring your benefits manual with you. Don't say yes to treatments right away. Give yourself a few days to think about it or ask for a second opinion. read more

After going to a dentist in San Marcos who said I needed a crown and tried to get it cover under insurance and failed 3 times. I went to promenade dental care from a reference from a client I was working with. They also said I needed a crown, the insurance denied the claim and the dental office challenged the insurance and this time it was approved. I was amazed that it was approved and more amazement was when they did my crown in the office while I waited all in one visit. After having wisdom tooth pain for more than 24 hrs and alternating between ibuprofen and extra strength tylenol & ice packs without relief..I decided to look on yelp for a dentist since I havent been to one in years..After calling 2 other (opened) offices that were booked solid & no room for urgent care...& closing early since its a Saturday..I decided to call Promenade Dental Care.. To my pleasant surprise, my call was answered by the Dr himself..and he was able to fit me in an 1 1/2 hr time.. So when i get there, there was no one at the front desk..then few minutes later..the Dr greets me & gets me started on registration done on the computer.. The reason no one was at the front desk is because the office was supposed to be closed, but happen to come-in for another pt. situation. So the Dr did my xrays..and comes to find out my wisdom tooth was infected & needed to come out..He was very straightforward about my situation...discussed my options & answered my questions. He addressed my anxiety & put me at ease that this would be the better option for me at this time..esp since i will be leaving out of town on monday for a 3-wk vacation.. We found our new dentist! We were visiting family in Temecula a couple of weeks ago when my husband's tooth pain became unbearable. I did a search for dentists in the Temecula area and an appointment was scheduled. When we arrived I explained that the anesthetics that typically work on most patients do not work on my husband. We have been to many different dentist who have always promised that he would not feel any pain but only once before has this been true. In every other case my husband still felt the pain from the dental work. Dr. Bao Nguyen reassured us and explained that he has a computer guided needle that ensures the patient is completely numb and will not feel pain. He DID NOT lie. His work was amazing and completely pain free. He was able to treat the issue and my husband was able to enjoy the rest of our family visit. We have been searching for a new dentist for several years since we moved away from the only other dentist who was able to keep is promise of pain free dentistry. Dr. Nguyen did an amazing job not just fixed my forever problem front teeth but also gave me a new smile! I only had 3 front teeth on the upper instead of 4 like everyone else, not just that one of them kept moving upward though I had had braces done 18 years ago and had been wearing the retainer on a daily basic but the problem couldn't never be fixed. He did a crown on that tooth and another tooth which was somehow kept the tooth in place. It never moves out of place ever again! WOW! Not just that he transformed my premolar into a look of a canine which gave me a look normal 4 front teeth I should have! I was so please with his work! This is the most dishonest DDS that I've ever crossed. I met him today, and will never set foot in that office again. I went in for a routine exam, and a routine cleaning, which my insurance (Deltacare) provides at no additional cost. The exam went well, no surprises. But when it came to getting my ROUTINE cleaning, he tells me that it will be $80 out of my pocket. I told him that my insurance allows for a routine cleaning every six months at no cost, and the last dentist didn't charge me for this. He didn't care, and insisted that I pay $80 or I get no cleaning. I immediately left, and called Deltacare from the parking lot to explain; and Deltacare called his office. Deltacare told me that the procedure that they were going to bill me (and Deltacare) was not for a routine cleaning. So basically, he was saying to me that he was going to do a routine cleaning, but bill me and the insurance company for something else. This is blatant fraud - criminal behavior. Deltacare suggested that I should file a grievance against this DDS, which I will do. Bummer, I can't get my free Starbucks gift card for leaving a good review, which they advertise at the front desk. Just be honest and do good work, then you won't have to bribe your customers with incentives. read more

I don't know where to start other than giving it a 5/5. The staff nurse was very welcoming and the doctor Nguyen was very nice. I didn't really feel rushed altho I was a bit late to the appointment due to I traveled 1 hr and 45 mins one way to see him. I was recom. by my family to see him and I wasn't disappointed. Their equipments were up to date and user friendly. The environment was quiet and appropriate. I had my wisdom teeth extracted there after infection. The nurse and doctor during my operation made me felt comfortable and made slight jokes to ease my nervousness. I am willing to travel 1 hr 45mins one way just to have them take care of me again. Because of a really bad experience when I was a kid, I do NOT enjoy going through dental work. I'm also extremely afraid of needles of any kind. But, as we age, dental treatment is not something that should be avoided. I attended Loma Linda Dental School for an emergency and some treatment and, while I know I was getting excellent care, it became hard for me to lose that much time from work. I needed something that, even though it may end up being costly in the long run, it was much quicker and I lost less time/money from work. On the recommendation of a close friend/colleague who recently underwent extensive treatment by Dr. Nguyen, I decided to bite the bullet and make an appointment. I'm so glad I did! The equipment in Dr. Nguyen's office is all the latest technology. I even watched my crown being made in a matter of minutes. Of course I went in wanting my teeth color matched and nice and pretty, but like the good doctor he is, Dr. Nguyen said we're going to first concentrate on getting my teeth healthy again and then later we'll discuss the aesthetics. I'm almost at the end of the "getting my teeth healthy" portion of my treatment and I'm very pleased with the treatment I've received. You can't ask for a nicer staff person than Deanna. Dr. Nguyen works without a nurse and, thanks to his training in the Navy, he's faster than any dentist I've ever known. My longest and most extensive appointment lasted LESS than an hour. They know how to schedule appointments so you never wait more than 5-10 minutes to be seen. Today I had an opportunity to come in earlier than my scheduled appointment and they had no problem with my doing so. I don't often refer people to professionals such as doctors, lawyers, etc., because what my experience was may not be what theirs will be. But, I have no problem recommending Dr. Nguyen if someone is looking for a good dentist. In fact, I recommended him this morning to my good friend's husband and I hope it works out for him and he's able to receive the same type of top-notch treatment I received.
