This review is strictly in reference to the pharmacy at this location. There are two pharmacists: Kristopher and Shanaya as well as a Pharmacy Assistant (whose name I can't remember) The 3 of these individuals are true super stars. They are all extremely knowledgeable and personable and provide "old time" customer service. Too often many pharmacies staff are impersonal and treat customers as minor annoyances vs valuable customers. The 3 folks here treat my wife and me as people they care about and that are deserving of prime service. I give this pharmacy my highest recommendation as they are truly deserving of such high praise. read more

As much as I'd like to support this store, I no longer can. I've had too many bad experiences here over the past couple of months, and they've all had to deal with the fact that the store is very understaffed. The last straw was yesterday, when I wanted to buy lobsters, and I patiently waited 20 minutes for someone to come to the seafood counter. This was after customer assistance was paged TWICE. One employee implied the person managing the counter was possibly on break. Are they not capable of putting up a sign that says something like "Back in 30 minutes" or having someone else cover? This is not a problem of most of the employees here (well, maybe whoever was supposed to be at the seafood counter), but it's a bigger problem at a higher level of management. While it's not specifically related to this store, I've had many friends who have worked at Price Choppers and Market 32's in the past (ask how many were full time), and there have been some horror stories. Maybe this is why chains like this don't want Wegman's in the area. But there are 2 Market 32's on Western Avenue less than 3 miles apart, and both are advertising for help. If neither store can fully staff, maybe this store needs to close and the two consolidate?? read more

I arrived at the store at 1030 pm after I got out of work to grab something to make for dinner and the store was closed, but it was supposed to be open until 11 pm. I checked both doors and there were several employees inside who saw me try to get in and ignored me. Another girl was trying to get in and they ignored her too. I've never written a bad review about anything but, the employees inside pretending not to see me really struck a nerve. I shop here frequently.. several days a week. I won't be back. read more

Yet again. Wanted some wings. 3 of the 8 bins were unlabeled. They all looked dry but I chose the one that looked just a little moist. Almost inedible. Should just go across the parking lot to Wings Over. And please could you just spare me the "points" scam. I like this store and shop there frequently. I do not like however the continuing influx of store brand products, sometime with no other brand available. Many of their weekly items on sale are great deals! Now to the pharmacy. Have had excellent service there with scripts/vaccines; they accept GoodRx too. However having moved my scripts there, I am really disappointed that they do not have direct access to my account available for a PC. Unfortunately, I am now looking around for a reliable pharmacy that does provide this service. Got spoiled at Walgrens and then their instore service became atrocious! read more

Overview: you'd think it's just like a supermarket, rows-upon-rows of food and toys and cleaning items. You wouldn't be too off but since I'm such a foodie I want to talk to you about price chopper for lunch! Food: Price chopper has a lot of ready-lunch that aren't the typical box-lunch you can find at any other grocery store, move over Whole Foods! There are a bunch of different soups to pick from, almost of all of them low-sodium and low-calorie. Their soups are super tasty, some can be a bit bland, but there's as much free pepper and crackers as you want to snazzzz it up! The reason for some being slightly bland will make you feel better though, low-sodium! There are also plenty of salads and sandwiches! Another treat is the pizza which comes in a few specialty slices. They range from white pizza to meat lovers and everything in between! Taste just like any of your favorite pizza shops! Yum! Favorites: I do not like blue cheese, but market32s blue cheese-mushroom pizza has made me a believer of this stinky cheese! The chicken-tortilla soup is nothing less then scrumptious, throw some crackers in it as well. I waved my hand and the large sliding doors silently opened that I may proceed. Flowers adorned the space to my left, mounds of fruits and vegetables glowed before me. Attendants greeted me with low bows and smiles, offering me fine gifts of store directories. I returned their graces with warm words and a photo for Yelp, and began my promenade of the new Market32. Many wonderful cheeses called to me - a Minnesota St. Pete's Select blue gently leaped into my handbasket, and a small stack of hard salami promised to grace my morning fast with much needed salt, grease and garlic. A pound of PF wild coho salmon will call to me as dusk approaches. So many kind workers taking their time to make the shelves and displays as beautiful and enticing as a sunset in spring. Cheese Lady shook my hand, offering samples, and Bread Lady was so very proud of all the fresh baked in-house goodies as she carefully sliced and bagged a Tuscan loaf for me. And except for "where's the bouillon?" I found my way through this land of plenty easily, for all was well marked and well organized. I breezed through self-checkout with only the problem of having brought only one shopping bag for 3 items when clearly there was much much more in my now overladen basket that I couldn't resist buying. So much more to discover and enjoy - the space is clean, nicely lit, and genuinely lovely. The Market32 is a food lovers paradise. And I am clearly the Goddess they have been waiting for. How am I the first person to write about the eastern Guilderland Price Chopper? (aka The Westmere Price Chopper) Maybe because it is entirely unremarkable. In theory this should be my most frequented grocery store. Based on the theory that one shops in their own community at the stores that are most convenient to them. But truth be told, if I'm going to a Price Chopper, I'll go out of my way to head down to the big fancy one in Slingerlands. This location has always felt a bit small and cramped, and I've always wondered about its existence. Still, when I am on one of my regular quests for the Price Chopper organic whole milk gallons, this is one of the places I generally look. I can get in and out pretty quick and easy. Plus I get a snapshot of what the people of eastern Guilderland look like. Suburbs are such interesting places. read more

The night manager at the Guilderland store is DAFT and in need of mental help and she also has the mouth of a drunken sailor. I'd mistakenly just walked into the Guilderland store and was already shopping when a very courteous worker informed us that the store was already closed. We looked for a sign indicating store hours but did not find one at the entrance previously. I was attempting to put back store items when the manager came out from nowhere and demanded we leave. When I did not move quick enough for her liking being in my mid 60's she started trying to provoke a confrontation and cursing. I'd never heard such profanity from anyone like I did from her mouth. I also plan to get in touch with the CEO Scott Grimmett over this incident. read more

This Price Chopper is actually a market 32. It loses a star because it's not a very large store, which means there are some odds and ends that are missing. I won't lie I was a little disappointed by it's candy selection, and it's lack of marmite. Price Choppers in general lack local meat and cheese options which means that I won't buy any of their meats or cheeses. However, it does have a relatively large stock of both even if they are not local. It has a really wide selection of items, so if you don't need a specific brand of something you are sure to find what you need. Because it's a smaller store they don't have as large of a variety of brand names. everyone in this store is insanely friendly. The lady at the bakery was extremely kind and we had a lovely conversation about cooking, and beer. The lady at the cheese counter was also really friendly, and gave us candy because it was right before Halloween. I don't think I've ever experienced a store that has workers who so clearly love what they are doing, and appreciate their customers. read more

Bordeline 3/4 I've had the seafood here several times. They will steam or fry anything you want for no extra charge, which is nice. Fish is fresh. The fried haddock is excellent, but comes in a styrofoam to go container, which can make it soggy if left in there too long. Yesterday the attendant poked holes in the top- Great Idea Mr. Fish Man. Haddock was 6.99/pound. I've also had the fried catfish- not advised. They only have a thin breading layer (not like cornmeal) for the fried fish, and catfish is too greasy for it. Have also had steamed salmon. There is a variety of dry rubs that they will apply for you. I found the rub to give insufficient flavor, as I usually like sweet sauces on my salmon. But it was prepared at an acceptable level. Salmon cakes there are not good. Very bland. Other tips: They also do french fries, and remember to ask for your condiments of choice, as they sometimes forget. read more

The staff is lovely. They do not control the prices that have gone up. The remodel that took away most of what I though made it an easy pleasant experience to got shopping. For example, bottle returns are shoved in a closet like space right across from the west doors Not a lot of room. Also the placement of customer service is great except there is no space between the desk and the registers for people ton be loading groceries and making way to the door while people are also in line at the desk. The remodel was all about using as much space to hold Bouteiller product as possible. Plus the lesser expensive items seem to be gone and replaced by More expensive things. I can go on.. They have all of the basics that a grocery store should have, just don't go here if you're in a rush. Have visited a few times to pick up groceries while on my lunch break at work and am always there for way too long. Most recently spent probably 30 minutes at the deli counter waiting to be served. Every employee acknowledges my presence, offers their assistance, and is very helpful in guiding my purchasing decisions. Avoid this place. Customers are rude; service is lousy. You can spend a long time at the deli if it is busy because they often have only one person working there while everyone is in the back giggling. Items are mispriced so you have to watch each itenm as it is scanned when you are on line. The pharmacy is the only worthwhile de;partment in the store. Intelligent and very professional staff. Also limited selections on many item. The parking lot is a disaster and people would rather run you over than stop to let you cross form the store to the parking lot. read more

I was disappointed that the new renovated store in Guilderland was not much of a real improvement. The produce was terrible and they had very little organic. Meat is still mostly their store brand, AKA tasteless. The bakery had lots of beautiful pastries and desserts items but a very limited selection of bread. Price chopper is my favorite grocery store but this store- sucks! I went here on my lunch break, similar to another reviewer for a few items. The staff stocking shelves were helpful and friendly but the checkout process was a nightmare!!!!! There was only one lane open and the 2 people ahead of me had a lot of items. The checkout woman next to me looked like she was about to open but she gave me the head nod no so I put my things on the belt. She proceeded to tell the woman behind me she could ring her up. So I patiently waited and waited and waited while another cashier opened another register and started ringing people up in line. I spend my entire lunch break buying diapers for my kids. I'm pretty understanding of others and sometimes people are having a bad day but that was just plain rude. The store is small and can benefit from a makeover, let's hope customer service training will be included in that. read more
