The prices here are pretty good. It's always clean and well lit. My only criticism is that this place is always packed!!

I like grocery shopping here. There is everything I need here. However I have big problem with food court employees here. I sometimes ask to make sub sandwiches. For last few times, all my sandwiches came out wrong. Few don't seem to know how to make subs. One time I asked to toast the bread. The guy try to put bread and cheese into panini press instead of oven. So I told him to stop making sandwich and walk out of the store. He had no idea how to make sandwich. Can a manager or fellow workers train their staff on how to make sandwich or put mayonnaise on the sub bread. Is it too much to ask? read more

I love Market Basket...especially this location. The only thing I find frustrating is that the baggers and stockers are trained very well. Bread should never be put on the bottom of something. If a stocker can't assist me with what I need then they should be trained to find someone who can. Everything else is fantastic! I love the regular employees. read more

The RUDEST LOCATION I have EVER been to!!! I was standing in check out line 3 on Friday evening (02/24/23 at about 5:50pm). The register light was ON!! And I was waiting for the order in front of me. THEN the cashier boy said "MA'AM", I looked, and he POINTED to his TURNED OFF LIGHT without saying a word -- insinuating for me to find a new line to go to. I told him "IT WAS ON WHEN I GOT HERE!" He totally ignored me!!!! Best part, I had TWO ITEMS!!!!! So ridiculous!! I worked at marketing basket for 10 years, as a cashier then in the courtesy booth. I NEVERRR would have done this and we were ALWAYS told to take every customer in your line once you close. You don't just kick people out who were already waiting there!!!! Absolutely disgusted. Market Basket's customer service has gone EXTREMELY DOWN HILL, when it was ONCE one of their best traits that they boasted about. It was the pride of this store to offer great service, now they s**k like everywhere else. I will NOT be returning. I left FUMINGGGG. Watch your cashiers. I bought a personal watermelon- price was $4.99, when I got home I looked at my receipt and had been charged 7.99 for regular whole watermelon. item # on sticker on watermelon does not match what cashier entered in register. Unfortunately I had already put receipt in trash. I've also noticed price stickers on shelves do not reflect what it actually scans for at register. Times are tough for everyone now with the current inflation rates. Sad that I get ripped off extra by my home town market. read more

I work in Westford and I stop into this mega new Market Basket from time to time to grab lunch at the cafe or pick up a few supplies for the office. It is a great new modern store with all the bells and departments one could want. It is a great place for a quick cheap lunch, The staff are friendly and the cafe and bathrooms are always clean. The parking lot design is not the greatest and can be confusing. read more

They always have a nice selection of organic produce and meats and it's always very clean - plus plenty of parking. I had the worst experience with one of the cashier (Asian, Maybe her name is Kristen) The store is nice and clean and most of the employees are polite and helpful except this one cashier, it's not the first time she's treating me or someone else poorly. I shop at this store all the time and I leave there at least $300 a week worth of groceries. As a client I should be treated nicely. I ask the management of the store to take action and give their employees some kind of training on customer service so they don't loose customers. This Market Basket is new and very clean, has wide aisles, and a large selection. It also has a coffee bar and a dine-in sitting area. It always seems appropriately staffed as I've never had to wait too long to check out compared to other supermarkets I've been to. The customer service at this location is awesome. I went here to pick up supplies for an event my company was having, and I lost the receipt when I went to file my expense report to be reimbursed. Even though several weeks had passed, the customer service folks here were able to get a copy of the receipt for me in just about 10 minutes. They were understanding and courteous throughout the whole process. Thanks! read more

I currently work at market basket and how they treat the produce there is shocking. When they stack the boxes of produce in the fridge sometimes the boxes will crush the produce underneath. And then when they drop blueberries or cherry tomatoes or anything in that flimsy plastic container it will sometimes pop open and it will go everywhere but then they just take it in the back and put it back in the container and put it back on the shelf like nothing happened. I recommend going to Whole Foods to get your produce even though it might be a little more expensive it's worth the price because at least you get a better product read more

Arrive at 6:40 on a Sunday night looking for a dinner to take back to the hotel room. There was no salad bar, so we settled on prepackaged salads and a roasted chicken (the hotel had plates, etc.). We heard the announcement that the store was closing at 7! So we hurried through the check out line, and had a relaxing, delicious dinner in the hotel dining area. read more

How times have changed. I don't know what the heck happened to this store, because it used to be a great place to shop. But, not any longer. In addition to it not being very clean, they are constantly out of everything and, at times, you will see huge empty spaces where grocery items are supposed to be (which you do NOT see at other Market Baskets--only at this place). And their customer service, which used to be top-notch, is now terrible; all of the nice, helpful people seem to have been transferred and all that's left are a bunch of guys who think that they're tough guys. (But they're not--they're just a bunch of dumb jerks). Even the teenagers who now work there bear no resemblance whatsoever to the nice, hard-working kids that they used to hire; what you now have to deal with are rude punks (which really isn't surprising, considering the guys who are now the store manager and the assistant store manager, respectively. The old adages "water seeks its own level" and "the fish rots from the head" really apply here, because I don't think that the type of nice employees that this place used to have would be comfortable working here now). As a result, I haven't shopped here for over a year and as long as Mr. Rigini (spelling?) and his sidekick, Rob, are running the place, I won't be back, either. read more

A woman was looking at her phone in the veggie isle while her two daughters were playing with all the veggies. and the older woman bagging for me was not friendly and I left MB in the worst mood. I work down the street from this store so I'm able to get hot lunches there often. The servers at the counter are mostly very nice. My only real gripe is that they have a habit of leaving the food in the chafing dishes until it dries out. If you don't get there while it's relatively fresh, the food is not very appetizing. Generally though, it's a great value and I do go there several times per week for lunch. I find the shelves well stocked and their prices are much better than other stores I've shopped at. read more

I was in this store on April 17, 2019. There were not enough baskets in the front of the store. The cashier (Asian girl, I didn't get her name) was rude. No 'hello' or any other greeting. She added my order to the order in front of me. I needed cash back. She said I had to ask her before the transaction was finished. She did not try to correct the error. She only gave me a 'role of the eyes'. I did not receive a 'have a nice day' or anything else. I brought my own bags. The bagger put chips and bread in one bag and 5 cans, a juice bottle, 2 packs of breakfast sausages, bananas, chicken, and then some in another bag. I had to carry it with two arms, not hands, arms. If a baggers job is to bag items, he should know how to bag. The only good experience was, the lines were not long. I believe customer service should know how to service customers. August 16 - I switched my previous yelp to one star, which is pushing it. I'll start with the positive, the cashier, Elizabeth (first year), was extremely friendly and gave efficient service. She even put the breads on the side to be bagged separately. Now - the bagger, . He SAID to me, pointing at the bread, PASS THAT TO ME. I said, please, thank you. Then he proceeded to bag the bread items with frozen food and cans. The very worst part of my experience- . I was carrying a half a sheet of cake and my elderly Mom was pushing a FULL cart. We were parked in a handicapped spot, obviously for a reason. An older employee, collecting carts, walked right in front of our opened trunk and said I looked familiar, THEN, continued to walk by. This is a testimony to the grandiose manner in which I intend to purchase my groceries. I have never been so impressed by the quality and prices of a supermarket. I get my steamed lobsters and a treat from the bakery and walk out paying the same as I would have at a drive thru. However I did get home missing a bag once. Contents: Blueberry muffins, Cat Jingle-Ball Toys, and a few other items. The bag boy was flirting with the cashier and must have given my items to the next customer. So if you received my items please let me know! But I love it Im there nearly everyday and will continue to despite the muffin debacle! read more

If you are just going in to buy groceries and get out this place is great. The cashiers and people serving food have great customer service, but, ironically, when you need anything from customer service, the overall experience is much worse. I bought some butter and while I was in the parking lot I realized I got the wrong type. I tried to come back and return it, but the customer service representative was very rude and said they couldn't return it since it was melted after jamming her thumb into the side of the packaging. I opened it and it didn't seem melted, but at that point it was open and couldn't be returned. This would have been fine if they weren't so rude, but I guess only the younger high school workers there have manners. read more

After the 2013 Market Basket strike, the employees and current management have won my highest respect. Way to hang in there. Great story. During the months of the strike it became apparent what Market Basket means for the demographic it serves. My hats off to them. That said, it is what it is - discounted prices for established and low end brands. There's a lot to be said for that. But its quality problems remain in the following areas: - Low end meat section. The guys behind the meat counter are pretty much clueless. They wear butcher aprons but seem unlikely to have ever been trained as butchers. So their advice on cuts of beef is often inaccurate. Nothing butchered on site. All shipped in from central warehouses. If you ask for a specialty cut or grind, you'll get a "gee, we don't have that" response from behind the counter. Here are just some of the common cuts you'll rarely find there: rack of lamb, lamb shanks, tri tip roasts, beef plate ribs, skirt steaks, standing rib roast, veal shanks, veal chops. Plenty of hamburger though. - Decent fish counter, at good prices - Cheese Counter: May be the worst cheese section ever. Beware of items labelled "Cheese Product". They sell a lot. They are not considered true cheese by the FDA, as they contain added emulsifiers, added salt, stabilizers and so much preservative they will last weeks in your fridge. Do you really want to eat that? They don't even melt like a cheese. It doesn't taste like cheese. Read the labels. - Deli: Low end deli meats. Lots of salt and little taste. - Produce: Decent produce at great prices, but limited variety. - Baked goods: Low end bakery section with breads so soft you'll not have to chew. Think cheap sheet cakes for the next office party. - Fresh squeezed orange juice - excellent and cheap. Though in the off season the oranges they use are not very sweet. -Specialty items: 50 options if you're fond of Goya beans and hot sauces. Beyond that, not much. If you're on a budget or looking to save a few bucks on laundry detergent, paper towels and basics, this is your place. If you want higher quality food choices, look elsewhere. Fortunately they recently opened a Whole Foods down the road. So a common shopping strategy is to buy your basic/staple items at Market Basket. Then run over to Whole Foods for some speiciaty items, cheeses and bakery. read more

This could be the new best grocery store in the area, huge improvement over the other one across the street. Clean, wide aisles, lots of variety, fresh produce, bargains, samples, with separate stations for the butcher, the baker, the sandwich maker. Only one star less than the Chelmsford Market Basket as the Chelmsford food station preparers seem a little more experienced and no burritos in Westford so far. Bring on the burritos. Perhaps because of the crowding, shoppers there seem oblivious to those around them. Why does everyone there peruse the shelves on one side of the aisle, while they park their shopping carts on the other side, making all the aisles totally impassible? They Completely Dropped The Ball. Back in September I purchased some haddock. When I opened the packaged two days later there was a LIVE WORM in it. I called the store and spoke to the manager on duty, after refusing to speak with the teenager who was the 'seafood manager on duty' or the woman who answered the phone who tried to tell me she was a manager. The manager on duty told me he would have someone call me back the next day as he was leaving on vacation. He also told me to send pictures to their corporate office so a seafood person could contact me as well. TWO MONTHS LATER - I realized they never had responded to me. I sent the corporate customer service a message telling them due to no response I was going to contact the board of health. In reponse I got a message that someone would contact me that day. I did call the board of health. They contacted the store and said he spoke to the manager who wanted to call me directly and could he give him my phone number so the manager could call me so he could at least refund my money. HE NEVER DID. Finally later that day the seafood supervisor from corporate called me and said he had been out for heart surgery and was very surprised that the ball had been dropped on their end. To make a long story short: I complained about a real issue - a live worm in my fish. The store did not handle it and dropped the ball. The corporate office did not handle it and dropped the ball. When I followed up and said I was going to the board of health, the store said they were going to follow up and did not. Corporate did finally follow up and apologized but had no idea how the ball got dropped. Shortest answer: Really sucky customer service. I don't buy fish from any of their stores but still shop there because of the prices. read more

I always stop by in the morning before work and always use the express line because i usually have 5 items or less. Its always the same woman there and she is extremely rude. First time I thought...maybe its just early but after awhile she still has the same attitude. This morning she was talking to the other cashiers a few registers behind her while she was ringing me up. I swiped by accidentally before pressing the green button and she said NO PRESS YES/CONFIRM after she rolled her eyes. I have gotten the prepared foods there and thought, not great but acceptable. The kicker was last night when I picked up some sushi rolls with tuna and it contained canned tuna! The real issue is parking; I can't believe the Westford planning board OKed this. The lot can be completely full and yet the store is not at all crowded. Current circumstances within our community, country, and world, have created challenges and great change. Along with change comes stress. While I understand and appreciate the challenges we are all facing, I am surprised (on my last two visits) by the overall tone, and hostility of the grocery employees at Market Basket, Westford, MA. I appreciate that employees are willing to come to work and keep the grocery stores running. I do not think this gives people a free pass to be rude, impatient, and condescending. The rules, arrows, distance, when to push your cart to the bagger, reusable bags, etc, are constantly changing. Grocery employees know these rules better than customers. Treating us like we are stupid, or that we are intentionally trying to go against the rules does not assist in the creation of a welcoming/ safe environment, especially during times that are already less than ideal. Perhaps you're annoyed that we are at your store, and you'd wish we would stay home? The way we are all treated during these times will be remembered. read more
