Love Trader Joe's. First introduced to them 40 years ago when they were only in CA. They have quite a selection of produce, meats, dairy and breads, etc. Their sour dough bread is pretty darned good, especially when I don't have time to make myself. I stopped in for a quick bite and a gift, figuring correctly that this Trader Joe's would have a decent floral department. There was a great selection of potted succulents that were at a very decent price and ready to be gifted. Awesome. The store is mostly clean and tidy. A bit here and there needs sweeping but the shelves were well stocked. I found a snack and a drink. Checkout was awesome. The young lady saw a line, opened her register and took the right customer from the queue. No cutting! She bagged perfectly and rang up my sale efficiently. That's the TJ's way! Always a great experience at Trader Joe's. Service is always excellent and the staff always goes out of their way to help you. The frozen food section can be such a saving grace especially to those who do not have the time to cook or are not a big fan of cooking meals from scratch. They have variety of frozen foods from various cuisines like Italian, Indian, Asian and so on. The wild caught frozen seafood is great and the price point is perfect. The best part if going into the store and sometimes finding these gems- be it some snack mix or a bbq sauce or even some seasonings. A lot of their products have clean ingredients and the price is generally better than Whole Foods. read more

The store was okay, but the patrons are horrible. They don't know how to walk around a store without constantly bumping into people. One was whining the store is crowded on Saturdays. Sorry we have to work during the week and aren't independently wealthy like you! One woman first bumped into me, then when after being distracted I went back to looking at some food she was suspiciously close to my cart and by the time I got across the aisle to it one of my Market Basket bags was gone. I went around the corner but she was long gone with my bag. Now the store has brown paper bags but I guess she wanted to virtue signal that she remembered to bring her reuseable ones from home when she didn't. No clear lanes at checkout so that was chaotic too. I'm driving home and the clock no longer works on my car so someone tried to hack into it. Fortunately I got a recent security upgrade done to it and hopefully it won't get stolen now. I should have gone to the TJ's in Shrewsbury or Nashua instead. read more

This location is the same with others I've shopped with 100% COVID compliance. Just like the others only a certain number of shoppers are allowed in. Today the line appeared somewhat longer than usual - maybe because I was hungry , lol However it moved quickly & not much time passed before it was my turn. This was my 1st time shopping at this location. I noticed right away how clean it was. The store itself seemed to be somewhat smaller than others I've been in, but with wider aisles. I looked for arrows indicating traffic flow. It may be me but I didn't see any. The store was obviously at capacity but without the feeling of concern. I found everything I came in for...my usual frozen Indian meals that I enjoy so much, fresh lettuce mix, a combo of grape like tomatoes, some irresistible daffodils & more. Check out was a breeze. Trader Joe's is literally my new favorite grocery store, and of course, the Acton location does not disappoint. Over the years people have raved over Market Basket being such the best unbeatable prices on everything, but honestly, Trader Joe's is very comparable, and the quality never disappoints. This particular location, while busy, maintains their shelves well stocked and the store clean and organized. It's large, spacious and has very friendly staff all the time. Particular items here I just have to have..... the white cheddar corn puffs (like Pirate's Booty, but are double the size of the bag for half the price), the cinnamon rolls, sourdough bread, oyster crackers, the mini chocolate chip cookies, and so much more. With the lack of good grocery options in the Acton area, and particularly lack of any grocery stores on this side of town, I am glad to say that this Trader Joe's rocks! 5 stars. If you haven't given this place a go yet, try it out, it's very unlikely that I would think that anyone would be displeased. read more

I haven't experienced almost anything that many of these negative reviews point out, minus the fact that it used to be a smaller store. It recently doubled in size, though has yet to increase inventory to match. I've never had difficulty finding parking, even during the holiday season. The selection is limited, but varied enough that I can get enough groceries where I don't have to supplement from elsewhere. It includes a varied selection of produce, easy/prepared foods, and other fresh foods. In particular, they have a great selection of cheese, nuts and trail mix, amongst other things. Note: They have a great sized, dark amber maple syrup at a great price here! Much cheaper than I've found elsewhere. Finally, the service is fantastic from everyone who works here. read more

Trader Joes is great everywhere, apart from their horrible over-packaging. Plastic party like its 1999! What gets this market my fan-status designation are the two employees I ran into. Great attitudes. One overheard my joy that TJs has brought back the chocolate-covered raspberry jelly sticks (ya heard it here first!) and gave me the rundown on how this treat made its comeback. Second was the cashier who asked us about buttermilk. Friendly beyond the call of duty! And for the record, buttermilk makes everything baked taste better. read more

I LOVE this store and the employees even more! Helpful and friendly and they love their jobs . Good affordable organic produce and unusual frozen items like kale gnocchi that you can only find there. The items they carry make meal prep fast and easy . If you have a problem with anything or bought something you just don't like they take it back and refund your money no questions asked . I cannot understate how much I hate this Trader Joes. Only this one in particular. In general, I like foo foo grocery stores and the few other Trader Joes that I have been to were tolerable and did sell some good stuff. However - this one in Acton is a SHOW. It starts before you even get into the store. The parking lot is way too small and is always filled with dumb soccer moms and their dumb minivans pushing their dumb kids in stupid oversized strollers. Or dumb old guys in their dumb Mercedes. And they are all in slow motion. Driving in slow motion. Walking in slow motion. Getting their wallets out in slow motion. Don't plan on going to this store and having it take any less that a half an hour just to get in and out of the parking log. Once you manage to dodge some snobby over the hill mommy pushing her crying brat and get into the store, you will be confronted with the tiniest Trader Joes ever. It has about 3 isles that are 2 feet wide, so prepare to smell the fancy pants standing next to you. And of course it is always crowded. Always. I think everybody in eastern Massachusetts drives to Acton to shop here. At all hours of the day. I will concede that the food is good - especially the wide selection of uppity olive oils and cheeses of which I am a huge fan. And the beer is good. And the wine is good. So if you can convince the manager to kick everybody else out of the store for ten minutes so you can shop, then go here. Now you get to the cashiers. But not just yet. Plan on waiting behind some hurting old guy who thinks he's funny and is trying to talk up the cashier like he has any chance with her, or like his old wrinkly wife at home would even let him. And then plan on waiting some more while he takes out his fat wallet and makes a big show about pulling out some cash. And then wait while he takes his sweet time picking up his bags and leaving. Now you've made it to pay out time. I was actually standing in line once and the cashier asked me if I was having a bad day and it was all I could do not to snap her head off her neck. What's not to love about TJ's? The food offerings are outstanding and they even taste good! Pros: Tasting of the day (sometimes), restrooms that are clean, balloons or stickers for the kids, fantastic and friendly employees (who have actually tasted the goods and can recommend them), wonderful holiday treats, lots of affordable organic stuff, little buckets of cookies Cons: They don't always offer tastings when I go, sometimes they stop stocking items, I always end up spending more than I mean to - not because they are expensive, but because there are so many things to try out! I am so done with this Trader Joes. The prices are now at an unacceptable level. Meat prices have skyrocketed. Milk, well I haven't bought it there in a long time as I can get it for a dollar a gallon less at my local gas station. Now the cereal is $4 a box. They always smile at the checkout because they are so happy to rip you off. There were 2 things I would still suffer to go into Trader Hoes for, Almond Butter, and Low Fat-no sugar (uses brown rice syrup) Soy Milk. Well, the Almond Butter's price increased by $2 a jar, and they no longer carry the Soy Milk. I now go to Whole Foods for Almond Butter which costs less than Trader Hoes and I am ordering Soy Milk online. read more

This isn't the best Trader Joe's, sure, but it's near our home; so here I go. TJ's gets a 4 star rating from me, in general. I'd bump to 5 if they had more fresh meat and veggies. This location gets a minus, because of the idiotic parking lot layout, and the tiny size. Oh, and the rude customers. For some reason, folks are mighty tetchy in Acton: politeness and friendliness go out the window when I shop here. Who DOESNT love trader joes?? They're the best!! I go to the one in Hadley usually but tried this one out as I was in the area. I usually just shop at my local grocer but will no longer. The prices really can't be beat! They've got a ton of organic variety that you don't see in the local supermarkets. The produce is super fresh and I absolutely love their cookie butter. I love the fact that if anything I have bought goes bad early (i.e. fruit) they take it back no questions asked, and don't make me feel awkward or bad about it. The Trader Joe's parking lot situation isn't this store's doing-it's the developer's fault. Apparently you haven't been to the Trader Joe's in Arlington-that parking lot is the absolute pits along with the drivers there!! I have to agree with the comments about some of the customers-they must think that because they have some money they don't have to excuse themselves when they almost run into you, etc. Most are the homeliest people I've seen as far as clothes and personal grooming go! Oh, that must be the 'earthy set'?! I like the really different food items along with frozen chicken, ground beef, sausages, and so on. I don't understand the negative reviews at all. Growing up in Southern California there was always a TJ's nearby, so it's not as if I don't know the brand. Each store has it's own personality and following. This is a great little TJ's - friendly staff, well stocked with all the wonderful items they're known for, plus fresh fruits and vegetables. How can you not like TJ's? They are weirdly sorted out and aisles are uncomfortably close... but you can find a lot of interesting buys at relatively good prices. Some people just buy at TJ's.... I go for specific things and maybe walk out with a couple of unexpected surprises! read more

This is the worst Trader Joe's ive ever been to. The selection is minimal at best, and the selection they do have is shoved into the shelves and mashed out so when you pick up one thing the rest comes toppling down. I picked up a veggie wrap that was noticeably soggy so needless to say I walked out. Sushi is not the only thing people eat on the go! Never have I walked out of a trader joes and thought "Man, I should have went to whole foods." read more

I live about half a mile from the TJ's in Acton, so I often find myself in there daily or at least every other day. Aside from the fact that this is definitely NOT a greengrocer, it is close to the perfect place for our family to shop. It has a range of creative and often unique products, and many "gourmet" items (cheeses, good olive oils and balsamic vinegar, etc) at very reasonable prices. IMHO one or two of the people who complain about the parking lot and similar nonsense ought to get a life. If you categorically detest soccer moms, kids, and SUV's (none of which I am or have) then get a grip ... and don't shop in a collection of stores smack dab in the middle of several towns with some of the highest-rated school systems in all of Massachusetts. This TJ's shares its parking lot with an EMS, Staples, and Pier 1 ... all of which generate lots of traffic. (And give new dimensions to the possibility for one-stop shopping.) And if you like to use the term "foo foo" to refer to a store with interesting food, rather than over-processed garbage and lots of white bread, then you probably shouldn't be shopping there in the first place. Try the White Hen pantry down the road apiece. Importantly, the people who work at this store are friendly, helpful (courteous, kind ...) and generally have great senses of humor. Whenever lines start to build up at the register, they ring a bell and add more cashiers. Cashiers always ask if I've found everything I'm looking for ... and if I haven't, they call someone over to help me find it ... or tell me where I can find it next time. read more

I always check packing dates of bread, meat, dairy products, and fish, for obvious reasons, and was surprised to see a date stamped on meat that was 2.5 weeks old. I won't even touch meat packaged LAST week, no less 2.5 weeks ago. I told the manager, and he said "he hears me," yet he left the meat on the shelf. Was a bit surprised. Just sayin. There was probably no problem with the meat, but I wasn't going to be the one to take a chance on it. I will come back to this location because I like Trader Joes and it's convenient, but I will never stop checking the dates. read more

How did I ever do fast/healthy/creative meal prep before Trader Joe's came to town? Now, many of my specialties depend on their offerings, especially when I am serving vegans and vegetarians along with omnivores in the same event. The people who work in the Acton store are extremely nice. Here are some of the foods that have transformed how I cook: I substitute their ground almonds for flour in many recipes-and this has revolutionized torte production. My son's favorite soup is their pepper/corn together with their frozen roasted corn kernals; and I use their thai red and yellow sauces all the time. Their mild fresh salsa is super, and I depend on their soy chips. And check out their fresh flower! read more

TJ's is terrific. I specifically love the one in Acton because of the small store and doesn't take me forever to find everything. The people are helpful and many have been there for many years - They also have so many unique and different items. Plus they're always changing up their stock and you can always try new things. Also for vegetarians or gluten-free etc. they have a lot of different products. TJ is in one of my number one shopping destinations. If you're on a diet it might be a tough place shop because they have so many yummy cookies, chocolate covered nuts and desserts available - So bring your willpower and not so much cash and Trader Joe's will be your love too!! Worst trader joes experience ever! I had 5 items in my vary yet a shopper filled To the brim was told to go in front of me! I had to wait 45 minutes to check out!! I am a fan of ALL Trader Joe's. I feel like every store has a crazy parking lot with equally crazy drivers. This one is pretty small and they do not sell wine - boo. The produce is also not the greatest and I generally stray away from it. However, most everything is priced very well. I love to buy cheese, pesto tortellini, garlic naan, salt and pepper chips, etc. here. The meat is pretty good too and I will get the whole chicken and bulgogi. The best store-bought ribeye I have ever had has been from TJs. It is wonderfully delicious. There are always lines and not enough cashiers. It seems like there are always some slow, older people that back things up. Yet, the people that shop here are usually way more friendlier than the ones nearer to Boston. What's not to like? I will and do go out of my way to shop here for several reasons-selection, price, and friendliness. For one thing, they have some items that my family enjoys on a regular basis that can't be found at a slightly closer grocery store. If the other store has them they cost a lot more or don't taste nearly as good. E.g. mandarin chicken, pot stickers, fondue kits, roast beef hash (extremely delicious when it's in stock), Morello cherries, pineapple salsa etc Many of these items have a long shelf life either because they're frozen or vacuum packed, which helps us balance a busy schedule. This long shelf life also allows us to be ready with some upscale snacks for spontaneous get togethers. E.g. pretzel nuggets w/peanut butter inside, mushroom turnovers, and those pot stickers again. We also love shopping there, because they offer great prices on some perishables, such as avocados, lemons, and cheeses, not to mention ornamental plants and floral bouquets. I should also mention that the people working here are very friendly, which is even better than just being polite. On the other hand they don't chat your ear off to the point of distracting them from ringing up your purchases. They cook samples using their items. This gives me an idea of what they taste like and how to cook them. For example, I do a much better job with the pot stickers, now that someone told me to brown them, put a tablespoon of water in, and then cover the pan. The trick was to not put in more than a tablespoon of water or they will get too sticky and fall apart. I've always ben able to find a parking spot, although I may have to park a little further in the winter holiday season. They're close to stores Staples (another great place with friendly people), Talbots, Chicos, and Pier Imports, so I can combine my shopping trips into one. I'm not going to complain about the other shoppers, because the people you encounter in any given situation are a mix. The worst place I ever shopped for groceries was in Allson, because people routinely left their carts in the middle of the aisle and showed absolutely no consideration for other people. Today I experienced the Trader Joe's staff in Acton at it's best. Nothing worse than installing a new credit card system (yeah - those cards with the chips) on a Sunday in November! I stood in line for 30 minutes and then was moved to another register to wait another 30 minutes. People were abandoning their carts and walking out. The TJ's staff communicated what the issue was and kept smiles on their faces (all crew members), and didn't lose their cool. Very impressive.
