Jalapeno Cream cheese on Everything Bagel. Sausage not included.
    Kelly C.

4 stars - the place is fresh looking and feels comfortable. Limited tables / seats on the 1st floor but has additional seating on the 2nd floor. Food / Drinks: 3.75 stars Had two different bagels: Bacon, Egg, Cheese on Plain Bagel and the Jalapeño cream cheese on Everything bagel. Bagels were bouncy and chewy but a little bit much on the crunchy outside for my taste. Both were decent. Other food options are omelettes, pancakes, French toast, breakfast / lunch sandwiches, various toast options and desserts/bakery items ie tarts, croissants, etc. 3.5 stars - Coffee and other drinks are served. Coffee was okay. Place is organized chaos cuz there are three difference sections where you can order coffee/desserts, bagels, and other breakfast items. Order first then pay afterwards before eating. 5 stars Service - staff were friendly, professional and efficient. Also, it is very clean when we arrived. Glad we found it.

There are a handful of bagel shops on this street so you're forced to see which one really stands up. Sorry NY this one doesn't. The customer service is great! Kind staff and fast and they have a huge selection. But no no on the bagels. They're small and I ordered vegetable cream cheese - but there's not really any veggies in it. Maybe a shedding or two of carrots but it's supposed to be loaded with celery and olives! This bagel was $4.80 but is with $3.50 for the quality of the cream cheese and it doesn't taste like an authentic hand rolled bagel - which is what an NYC staple is!!

This is a great New York deli with a yummy looking bakery case. I've mostly had bagels and soup from here....always good

I found a new lunch spot! Market Crates. Forget about Just Salad or Chop't. This little gem delivers first class service without the assembly line wait. Tucked in the middle of the block on 35th Street, Market Crates has much to offer. Different stations for different cravings: soups, sandwiches, salads and more. As soon as you enter, it not only smells good but is immaculate. I keep reading about their delicious coffee which I'll definitely have to try. On this first time visit, I was in the mood for salad. Pick your greens. Then protein (shrimp is additional $2.50). Select 3 premium ingredients. Finally, 6 additional toppings--that's 10 toppings in all, for a total of $14.14. The staff is super nice. There is a great variety of delicious, fresh lunch selections and the prices are reasonable. I read they also serve breakfast. Sweet.

We stopped by here as our plan A and B of getting bagels across the street crashed and burned after the line was just too long. I'm not upset with that tho. The line moved quick, and I was able to get my customized croissant sandwich while my husband tried their omelet. Neither was the best, but for the cost and speed of service, we were happy and would come back as it's convenient also to where we usually stay. Plenty of seating also between the two floors.

Was looking for a new lunch spot and stbled upon this place. I got the salmon, Farro, brussel sprouts, and Mac n cheese they give large portions and everything was delicious

Do you understand how many EXTRA toppings I need to add to get to a $17 salad!?

I am fairly certain I got ripped off yesterday when I got a custom salad and they rang me up for $17! I used to frequent the 33rd street location (wonderful people, wonderful location) and I remember salads are around $12 so I chalked it up to maybe the recent inflation. But today when I went on their website to look at their menu, their salads start at $9.99! I didn't even get meat in my salad!!! Only one Egg and Vegetables!!! For $17!?!?!?? I should've known something was wrong when I walked in at lunch prime time 1PM and it was empty. I rather go to the 33rd street location that's 5 minutes away than go to this one again.

2.5 rounded down. I feel like I had a particularly strange Market Crates experience on my most recent lunch delivery with them. This isn't the first time I've ordered here, and in the past, I've stuck with their cobb salad, which is pretty solidly just okay. Nothing terrible but nothing too exciting. This time, I ordered the bella fontina panini (portabella mushroom with porcini puree and fontina cheese on a seven grain roll), crab bisque, and the coconut passionfruit chiaseed pudding. Delivery comes, and my crab bisque is completely missing. :( But I call them up and the woman apologizes and says they'll get the soup to me. No problem, I'll eat my sandwich and pudding in the mean time. The sandwich was unexpected. I am fairly certain that the porcini puree was replaced with hummus. I ate the whole sandwich, so it obviously wasn't awful, but I definitely would have preferred more mushroom flavor. I guess I could have called them up again, but I felt too awkward doing that after calling for the bisque. The sandwich was also cold and a bit soggy, which I think made a big difference for the worse. The portabello was good though! Chia seed pudding was delicious, albeit a little too sweet. Also, it's called coconut passionfruit, but I tasted 100% coconut and zero passionfruit. Oh well. Crab bisque came about an hour later, and the delivery guy also was very apologetic. I don't have anything negative to say about the customer service! Bisque was meh. Crab flavor, but straight broth with no lumps of even imitation crab meat. I almost wish I didn't bother them about the bisque, because I could have done without it. Anyway, this was probably my worst experience with Market Crates, but the customer service is very accommodating and wants to make your order right. I am not sure if I'll order from here again, but if I do, I'll just stick with the salad.

I was pleasantly…read moresurprised to find out they had a location in New York City, so I obviously had to give it a try. There are a few locations, but I decided to visit this one because it was the most convenient for getting to and from home. I got there around 7:00 PM, which felt a little close to closing time since Google said they close at 9:00 PM, but it wasn't busy at all. In fact, I was only the third customer to place an order. I ordered the La Summer sandwich and added pesto. After sitting down and taking my first bite, I immediately understood the hype. Without a doubt, this is one of the best sandwiches I've had in a very long time. I'm not even a huge sandwich person when it comes to subs and deli meats, but everything tasted incredibly fresh. The ingredients paired together perfectly, and you could still taste each one individually. The only thing I'd change next time is the meat. I had no idea prosciutto was a type of ham, but honestly, it didn't even taste like ham to me. It was sliced paper-thin, slightly salty, and worked surprisingly well with everything else. Next time, though, I'll probably add salami just to see how it compares. Overall, this sandwich was a solid 10/10, and I will absolutely be back--whether it's to try a different sandwich or, if we're being honest, order the exact same one again with salami added. I will say it's on the expensive side, but that's New York City for you. Apparently, all of the ingredients are flown in from Italy. After tax and tip, I paid a whopping $28 for a single sandwich. That said, it was incredibly filling and definitely kept me satisfied. The workers were also really nice and accommodating, and the indoor seating was beautiful. The atmosphere felt like a fancy Italian café, complete with couches and artwork throughout the space. I wish I had taken pictures, but honestly, I was too busy enjoying what might be the best sandwich I've had in years.

Here I am…read more The legendary Florentine sandwich shop achieved global fame by earning some of the highest praise in food journalism for its massive, fresh-baked schiacciata sandwiches. Google their name and "best" and get hundreds of hits, but the majors who crowned them "best sandwich" title include Saveur Magazine, the big one touted by the family; Eater NY, ranking La Paradiso the most elite Italian sandwich outside of Italy; Las Vegas Weekly, who crowned them "Home of the world's best sandwiches"; TripAdvisor, for whom the Italian original is the most reviewed eatery with a near perfect rating; and The Infatuation NYC guides who promise the execution of the crispy, airy schiacciata bread completely justifies the hype. All 17 options looked amazing, so I spoke to a regular in line, telling her I couldn't decide between "La Paradiso", the most praised (even though she informed me "mortadella is just bolonie" or the Hot Italian, which was more my style. So, I did what any gluttonous American would do and I got both. And a Diet Coke, of course. La Paradiso has thinly sliced bolonie for a savory base, with creamy shredded stacciatella cheese, with sweet but earthy pistachio cream, and a sprinkle of toasted pistachio for texture (that I didn't detect). It was good, but I will likely fuggedaboutit. The Hot Italian had thin, lean turkey, spicy and smoky spreadable Calabrian pork sausage, a balancing provolone, calabrian chili honey, and peppery arugula (that they claim adds crunch that I didn't detect). Were they life-changing? No. But I rank Paradiso a 8.8 and Hot Italian a 10. And because everyone is hard-working and everything is so freshly prepared and cut, it's a class act. They should seriously make a sign that says, "Can't decide? Get two!" and then give me free sandwiches on my yearly trips for the idea.

We all chose different sandwiches and they were ready pretty fast. Since the shop itself is not huge, we landed a small space at the window bar with two stools and some standing room.
