I just had a chipped sandwich with chipotle chicken and turkey adv it was phenomenal. The guy was very helpful and did a great job preparing it. Make sure to get the bread toasted!

If you're in search of a classic deli sandwich look no further than Farmer in the Deli. This place is my spot in the neighborhood for a solid sandwich! It's a small place with quick reliable service that always delivers. When the deli sandwich craving hits this is where I'm going in Midtown East!

I have been curious about chopped sandwhiches as a total sub and sandwhich lover. There is a famous location in Brooklyn (which I hope to try) but was around midtown so stopped by to get a quick, to-go dinner. Note that this location is fairly small and unassuming, and there isn't any seating and just a counter for ordering. I got a chopped turkey on a roll with jalapeños ($11.50). Note that it's $2 extra to convert a regular sandwich into a chopped one. I regret not adding a bag of chips to chop into the sandwich. I also think it would have tasted yummy warmed up, which I didn't realize was an option. The service was very friendly and attentive, and seemed to really care about making sure you got a great sandwich. It was also packaged/wrapped well, making it easy to eat on the go. I'd come back and recommend this place to others!

Headed to the Farmer in the Deli bodega after a recommendation. The staff was friendly and offered help with the menu. What an interesting concept. Pick your meats and condiments, and they chop it all and place it on a nice soft sub roll. The combinations are unlimited. The place is small with only a counter, no place to see. So we grabbed our sammies and looked for a place to eat.... We ended up sitting on a bus stop bench.... the only downside. The sammies were great..... Sorry I don't live in NY so that I could try other combinations..... lucky New Yorkers!

Chopped cheese sandwich on a roll with the works - lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup and mayo.

Absolutely wonderful! My teenage goddaughter wanted to try a chopped cheese sandwich for her first trip to NYC and this did not disappoint! As Midwesterners, we had no idea what to ask for/order. The gentleman working (I feel so bad I didn't catch his name!) explained everything and made some recommendations. He was so friendly and we chatted with him about Chicagoland while he made the food. We ended up with 3 chopped cheese sandwiches on rolls, with different toppings for each. They were absolutely delicious!!! My only disappointment was that I didn't have another day to come back and eat there again! The deli itself is tiny but well-stocked with drinks and snacks. That being said, there was a bistro table and couple of chairs set up outside, which was perfect relief for our tired feet from hiking around NYC all day. There was a wall of chips that I considered adding to my chopped cheese, per his recommendation, but I ended up just sticking with the sandwich itself. The prices were super reasonable and the owner was amazing! I will be recommending this spot to everyone I know! :)

I highly recommend this Farmer in the Deli located on 56th Street. This was my first time visiting and I was immediately made to feel welcome. This place is both a deli and store. As for the deli, all sandwiches are freshly made to order and can be customize any way you like. They are VERY FAMOUS for the "CHOPPED SANDWICH". Basically you can have any of the meats or cheeses you want along with other veggie items and any other condiments you wish. Everything is piled together and chopped up and placed on a Kaiser roll or a torpedo roll. Many like to add chips to the mix! The location is clean and well maintained. The displays throughout the store make everything easy to find. Customer service is great, if you are having difficulty deciding what you want, they will give you helpful suggestions. In conclusion, if you are in NYC, head on up to 56th Street and give Farmer in the Deli a try. It is well worth the trip and you will be glad you did!!!

This place is great!!! I come here a few times per week for breakfast sandwiches and chopped sandwiches, and they're always perfect. The service is excellent and the prices are great for the quality. There's no tip option on the payment screen, so bring some cash if you want to tip. Come check this place out! You can't go wrong.

Hole in the wall. Reasonably priced and good. Nice service too. No seating though. So it's all to go.

I ordered the Kale Chicken Caesar Salad, which comes with grilled chicken, kale, Caesar dressing, croutons, Parmesan cheese, and a huge piece of buttered bread. I also added grilled steak cooked medium because apparently one protein wasn't enough for me. Both the chicken and steak were flavorful, and the steak was cooked exactly how I wanted it. The salad was filling enough to feel like an actual meal rather than just something light. I also ordered the Strawberry Margarita, which was only $10 thanks to their all day, everyday margarita special. And listen, they are NOT playing with that margarita. It was strong but still tasted really good, which is exactly the balance I want from a cocktail. I ate alone and really liked the seating setup. I had a cute little booth that felt perfect for a solo diner, but it would work just as well for two people. The restaurant also has plenty of seating for larger groups, so it seems like an easy choice whether you're eating alone or coming with friends or family. The servers were attentive to me and assisted me quickly. They also checked in on me multiple times. The interior was another highlight. There's a beautiful wall covered with different pieces of artwork that adds a lot of character to the restaurant and makes the space feel much more visually interesting than your typical diner. Overall, this was a great quick meal while I was out running errands. Good food, a surprisingly strong $10 margarita, and a comfortable atmosphere for dining solo. I'd definitely stop in again when I'm in the area.

We loved seeing the pastries on display in the case while we queued for the table to be ready. I had the avocado salad with chicken, and my mom opted for the salted caramel waffle and hash browns. Everything was delicious and huge portions. Our waitress was very slow and didn't check on us much at all, but the great food made up for it. Make sure to stop by here with a reservation!

I'm so glad Broad Nosh Bagels & Deli popped up in my search, as it was exactly what I was looking to enjoy. A couple of us trekked the few blocks to find the storefront. Inside it was PACKED, and several groups and lines snaked around the dividers. But the line moved quickly between customers picking up to-go meals and placing orders at the counters. The display cases are beautiful and feature so many different kinds of cream cheese. (Who knew you could make a whole vat of Biscoff?) They also had many types of smoked fish and toppings for customers filing through. Once you order food, you take your ticket to the register where you can add any drinks. This also went fairly quickly. Food and drink order numbers were called out and checked with the receipts, although they called out a set of orders for several minutes and no one came to pick them up. There are a few tables there, but since customers wait to grab drinks and food near the front, the couple tables at the front were basically for crowd control. I definitely wouldn't try to eat there unless I happened to be going at a quieter time. I got the bagel with smoked salmon, and it was exactly what I had been craving. Their bagels are a quarter pound each, so you might even get two meals out of it if you have a fridge for storage. But even as good as the bagel was, the hot chai latte with oat milk was the star for me. It was so incredibly layered for flavor and fragrant, just lightly sweet. I would go out of my way on a trip to NYC just to get one of these for breakfast! We all really enjoyed our food, and I will definitely return.
