I am a jersey girl, there's a jersey mikes in the jersey town I'm from and sometimes it can get crowded but the sandwich itself is decent. This location, was absolutely not prepared to have this store in nyc. For New Yorkers that never had a sandwich from Jersey Mike's, this location will ruin the brand. I ordered a sandwich for pickup on a rainy night in the weekday, it literally took 1 hour for a cold sandwich that was missing parts of my order! Everyone waiting which was about 30 people were all visibly frustrated and angry. I missed my show because I couldn't even have predicted that ordering from a chain would take this long. They had 3 staff, 1 preparing not pickup orders and managing the register, one making orders with a stack of prepared orders whose names they weren't calling?!? Like how can you be this understaffed for a location like this. Getting someone to ask about your order was nearly impossible. Honestly, I feel bad for the staff working there since this is nyc and you deal with crazies, so one guy who waited 15 minutes getting heated I debated just finishing my sandwich at home because I didn't want to witness craziness Ok-actual sandwich was beyond a disappointment. They got it wrong and to get it fixed would have taken another hour that I didn't have. The bread was stale and cold and hard, there was veryy little meat. Jersey Mike's at this location is fine for my daughters (It's right near my daughter's take out ! office). She was given two gift certificates for Jersey Mike valued at $50 total. She likes to get a sub for lunch and save half for lunch the next day. That's what today's lunch was with some chips. Naturally I ask for a taste. My small appetite doesn't allow me to eat much. As I've been to Jersey Mike's locations out near family's house on LI and down in Florida I usually enjoy their subs. Not too long ago I was near this location in midtown on the east side and dropped in for a quick lunch. Turkey and Provolone sub, with all the toppings (Mike's Way) on a white bread sub roll. Made it a combo with a drink and chips. More than acceptable and was prepared correctly. Staff was ok and I had my meal pretty quickly. Jersey Mike's is nothing fancy in an area where you can get sandwiches and lunch at many places, but it does the job at a reasonable price. read more

I ordered in from Jersey Mikes as I wanted to try it out. I got turkey, provolone, onion, oregano, lettuce and tomatoes and some salt. I got a bag of lays BBQ chips. I do not think I have ever had such an oily sub in my life. The bread was super wet at the bottom and soggy. I could not eat the second half. I just felt like I was consuming oil. Maybe it's a bit better when you eat it at the place but it will be hard for me to want to try it again. Pickup order was 20 mins late and I had to basically beg someone to finish making my wrap. First time, ever!, seeing a Jersey mike's... had to give it a try. This store is located on 52nd st, between Lex. and 3rd ave. Right across the st. from a competitor sammich place ;) On my first visit, I tried their Italian sub., regular sized, lettuce, tomatoes, fresh onions, banana peppers, oil and vinegar and made it a meal with the fountain soda and a bag o' chips. Grand total ~$18.50. On my 2nd try, I went for one of their hot sandwiches. I ordered their philly cheese steak "as it comes" (no additional fixings), also regular sized, didn't make it a meal. Cost, $13.01out the door. The process takes longer than most sandwich shops. I was greeted, both times, with very friendly, very polite staff, that even though were obviously busy, still did it all with a smile. Cold cuts are sliced to order (big plus btw); phase 2 is what slows down the whole process (clients choosing what they want on the sub.), they ring up your order and you're out the door. I absolutely loved the Italian sub. At first, I thought the sub would be soaked through and soggy with the amount of oil and vinegar they put in, but, no, it was just right. It all worked very well together. And having made it "a meal", it was borderline a bit much for me (I feel I am somewhat of a big eater... at least compared to my coworkers). The Philly, I must say I was a bit underwhelmed. It tasted OK, but I will be sticking to cold cut sandwiches from this chain. As a bit of unsolicited constructive criticism: perhaps at busier times they should have two staffers work the "final assembly" phase of the production line to speed this along. After 30 min - I requested my order be cancelled (along with several other folks)... Just had one of the worst customer service experiences in my life at this location. I placed my order online and waited a little long before heading to the location to pick it up to give them a bit more time. After arriving I waited at least another 30 minutes and was not serviced - meanwhile they tended to all walk-in customers leave a large group of customers that ordered online to wait. To help, one of the staff announced they would expedite the orders of for those of us waiting if we went over to the walk in line. This was not based on who had been waiting the longest but who got to the other line first - seriously? I finally got to the line near an hour after I originally placed my order. Was told there was no manager on staff. When asked for them to upgrade my order due to the inconvenience, I was originally told that they could increase the bread but but not the sandwich contents - seriously?! After two of the workers start responding aggressively - telling me I "was doing too much", someone that I can only assume was the team lead took my order and made my sandwich. I understand the crew can only do so much - but their lunch time system is ridiculous and some of their staff need customer service training. They had my eye twitching. Had no clue a jersey mikes subs was off 2nd ave and 52th St but it is and this small interior space joint is where I will order my turkey and provolone with the works with easy on the oil and vinegar. Ain't cheap folks as a sandwich will cost almost 15 bucks but they are big stuffed boys and it's not subway at all. Good selection of sandwiches including the Italian, tuna , Philly cheese steak, veggie ,etc, almost chips , cookies , brownies and cold beverages as well. Perfect on an empty stomach or you can eat half now and the other half later . Absolutely floored that they are in the area. I enjoyed my Italian sandwich. The cold cuts are always super fresh. This is my 3rd time eating one of their sandwiches. There is no doubt in my mind they will close subway down one day. It's very hard to find a place that has high quality meats and just the right amount of crunch to the bread. Even with the oil I request on this delicious sandwich didn't ruin the breads quality. The prices are pretty decent. I do order when I have some extra cash. The cool thing is they give you a card to get a free sub on your next purchase. Usually, I have an issue with lettuce, but their lettuce is good for my digestion. The rosemary bread is bussing, I recommend it 100%. It's the number 13 in case you're wondering. I placed an online order for pick up around 1258p I believe . I know because of the lunch hour , it's typically super busy and it's a small location, so i gave grace and decided to head their a little later. I got their around 125p-130p and my order still was not ready , nor was anybody calling out orders . I waited online for a few until the mobile order / pickup side died down a bit . Then I headed back to that side . There were three men ( tall slim Caucasian guy who was handling the meats , two Hispanic men who was 1 working the register and the other behind him doing both register and making sandwiches) . All made eye contact with me and decided to not even ask me (after 10 mins of waiting ) what I was waiting on nor why I ordered. They assisted everyone around me and not once decided to assist me . Again , I ordered around 1245p mobile for 1258pick up , and stood in front of the register for anyone to assist me till 150p . A whole hour of being looked at and ignored while others who came in after get assisted . I looked and calculated how many people they assisted others and how many times they made direct contact with me before I said something . I'm a short African American woman who wanted nothing more than some assistance and acknowledgement . Being the in customer service, I get it . It's difficult but you make sure to treat everyone the same , no matter what . I felt racially discriminated against and will no longer be coming back to this location for any reason . This was a super embarrassing experience for me as I watched people behind me , to the left and right of me get assisted . I never take my time to write complaints because again , it's stressful field you're in , but I will never profile or not assist someone who you seen waiting well over 5mins -1hr not being assisted . What makes it worse is , the tall Caucasian guy got off the meat station to see what everyone order was and still overlooked me and went back to his duties while making their sandwich ... not only did I walk out without my Sandwich, I walked out feeling embarrassed , and my time extremely wasted . These guys are fantastic! And a very welcome addition to the neighborhood. I've been craving a good Jersey Mike's hit ever since the one on Third and 57th closed, and the fake one in a ghost kitchen on west 37th just wasn't scratching the itch. (They claimed to do things Mike's way, but you could tell it wasn't the real thing.) The food here is freshly made and lavished with love (plenty of seasonings out of the shaker, plenty of "juice" before the whole thing gets slid into a paper sack and twisted closed).
