I came here for lunch on a weekend. The location itself is in the underground 30 Rock/Rockefeller Center area. It doesn't have much seating in the location itself, but there is communal seating outside (still indoors). The food came out quickly, and I really liked that they had a basket showing the different types of bread you could choose for your sandwich. The sandwich itself is a bit pricey, but it is large. We had arrived in NYC for fall break and dumped out bags at the hotel before heading out to find a quick lunch and explore the city. I have three big guys with me and sometimes quick lunches need to be more filling than fast food options, so we chose Alidoro's under Rockefeller Plaza. We could walk to it form the hotel and it was in the middle off all we wanted to show the boys on their first day (first time) in the city. We all chose different sandwiches and they were ready pretty fast. Since the shop itself is not huge, we landed a small space at the window bar with two stools and some standing room. After being in a car and on a flight and in another car all morning, we weren't mad about the standing part. We were all able to share and sample each sandwich, and honestly, we were not disappointed. We were all full and happy when we weren't finished, so what more could we want for a relatively quick NYC meal? Being under the plaza, the restrooms were outside the shop but very close by so we were able to wash hands and such before journeying out into the wild. I would definitely stop back by again on another trip! The guys and I all gave Alidoro's two thumbs up - so 8 thumbs total, if you're counting. read more

Overall: I was pretty disappointed with my experience at Ali Doro. I've been before and had some pretty good sandwiches, but this was lackluster. To make matters worse, the service was super slow. The prosciutto was good, but everything was completely overpowered by the olive spread. It was ok, but I won't get it again. Service: The service was incredibly slow. I recently joined Mealpal. So, through this I tried the Pinnochio at Alidoro in Rock Center. I am not really sure what to say about this sandwich. The ingredients are good, but the sandwich is not. This is supposed to fresh mozz, prosciutto, Soppressata, roasted peppers and olive paste. First, they put ALOT of olive paste on the top of the bread - so much so that is literally made the sandwich top soggy. Meanwhile the layers of prosciutto and soppressata are very thing. The 3rd location of Alidoro just opened in Rockefeller Plaza (not counting the short-lived location in the Bowery Market). It's as incredible as ever, and even worth milling through the tourists and trying to figure out where it is in the dining concourse. They opened at the most perfect time of year, and will be able to make a year's worth of sales alone from Italian tourists visiting to the see the Christmas Tree right upstairs. The new Giorgio at this location is incredible, but everything they make is really excellent, so try whatever sounds good to you. I'll be back next week when they launch breakfast. read more

The bread is a bit stiff on the outside but not too bad. Between hot and sweet peppers I couldn't tell what is what. They're all kinda mixed together in a mash which is interesting to taste hotness when not expected. Idk what the hot spread is actually. But there is some sort of hotness within this sandwich. It's not as bad as what my friend said but there is an obvious heat. Fennel.... Is that even in there? Arugula. I like it there. Prosciutto. Okay i gotta say I was never a fan but I decided after this sandwich that I don't like prosciutto. I don't think it's Alidoro's fault. This was my 2nd time going because i always pass by when I'm going to work in 45 Rockafella center. I told the lady i wanted the same sandwich as i seen advertised on her screen. When i got to my building an opened up my sandwich it was just the meat, an some pesto sauce that i don't even eat.
