This is my favorite bar in Galveston. I'm someone who prefers a laid back vibe for bars and Market Station accomplishes just that. The music doesn't blare through the speakers and there's usually room to roam around even on a busy Friday night. If I ever feel like stepping away from the main crowd to recharge my social battery, I can turn to the many free games including connect four, shuffleboard, and pool. Alternatively, during my most recent visit on a Monday night, I can sit down on a comfortable sofa and watch some football with my buddies. Their happy hour runs from 4-8pm everyday. In addition, their weekly specials offer a discount on a different alcohol every day of the week (usually 8-11pm with some exceptions). I usually opt for the lemon drop or a green tea shot but the tiki wheat is a popular option if you're a beer person. I'd choose here over a club in Galveston 9 times out of 10. Market Station is a great place to visit if you're looking for a night out and want to easily socialize with others. read more

I've been a loyal customer at Market for years, but last night (8/9/25) was the worst service I've ever had here. The redish haired bartender with a centipede looking thing for a tattoo on her left arm made me one round of espresso martinis, after letting out a big sigh and giving me an eye roll. When I tried to order a 2nd round, she flat-out refused to make any more espresso martinis, claiming they were "out of espresso." That would be believable... if I hadn't watched the two other bartenders (who were very nice btw) make them for other guests right in front of me. After being told they were out of espresso by the red headed bartender, I went a couple chairs down to the other bartender on duty who happily made me more espresso martinis. That's not just bad service -- that's lying to a regular customer for no reason. It was lazy, petty, and extremely unprofessional. If she can't be bothered to do her job, maybe she shouldn't be behind the bar. Management needs to take a hard look at who they have representing their business, because one arrogant bartender shouldn't be allowed to wreck the reputation of an otherwise great place. We stopped by here one night for an after dinner drink. We actually stopped here by mistake thought we were going to another place, but glad we did. Had an after dinner cocktail I had the chocolate martini and it was delish. We stopped by with a group after attending Oktoberfest and had a great time watching the Astros. People of all ages and something for everyone. Drinks are good, as is service and everyone had fun! read more

November 21, 2021 came back with 2 friends...to celebrate my 60th BD on the 23rd. I like the vibe this bar has...and the staff is very consistently friendly. My 1 friend is new to Galveston...she didn't like the music...which I love but, she liked the drink specials and the free pool! Bartender, Sarah bought my first drink for my BD! (awesome) and Jade was sweet...a customer came in who reminded me of Colin Powell...Jade was like, who?!! LOL! Anyways, we stayed for several hours...played a lot of pool. A group of rowdy guys bought the 3 of us these delicious shots! Score! Had a good time! read more

A fun, vibrant place to hang with friends during the late afternoon or at night. There are free games inside including pool, darts, giant Jenga, connect 4, and shuffleboard. The bartenders were friendly and helpful when helping my friends decide on a drink. The happy hour prices are great, and my drink (pictured below) was flavorful and strong! read more

Where has this place been all my Galveston life?! We were at the Proletariat and my friend wanted liquor, so they pointed us across the street to Market Station. I am so glad they did. I've been walking right by this gem for years. The inside is beautiful, very spacious and exposed light-colored brick which always brings a certain comfort to a place. Along with all your classic bar games like pool and darts, they also have the giant games like Jenga from your childhood, and tabletop shuffleboard! I dominate shuffleboard so I was a very happy girl. The drinks are very unique and tasty. I'll definitely be going through that menu! The bartender was adequate. All in all, a great time that is sure to be followed by many more great times there. read more

Super friendly bartenders. They are very attentive and provide great service with a smile!! Great drinks. Great specials. The ambiance is beautiful they have comfortable couches and pool tables too!!! This is where I bring my friends if I want to go to a bar and socialize. I also feel very safe here. This bar is huge and pet friendly. I love coming with my friends and my chihuahua in my bag, get drinks, seat on the couches and socialize. The music is good but it doesn't drown conversations like many other bars. If you want to play the pool and games are free!!!! read more

Ended up here randomly on a Monday evening and was pleasantly surprised how great it was ! Nice decor, free pool, and a good happy hour. I had a well- made $5 happy hour gin martini and she also just came up with some interesting drink for my husband to try. I especially liked this place for its spaciousness in this Covid era. This is a fun little bar! We stopped in here on Halloween for the first time and had a great time. Service is excellent and one of the bartenders even helped me hunt down a lost debit card even though they were slammed. The bathrooms are very clean. They have happy hour specials and free games such as pool and darts. Lots of space to spread out and have a "distanced" drink. read more

I use to love coming to this bar until the bartender Jared started treating me poorly. First, he would charge me for higher quality alcohol then I would receive. This bar is amazing! It's dog friendly inside! They also give them treats and water. The bartenders are always nice and it's not a very loud bar. They have pool tables, TV's, Shuffle Board, a spacious bar. Drinks are good and the specials are always good priced! They even have couches to relax on! read more

Friendly place. Decided to take my teenage son out to teach him how to play pool. Whereas several neighboring bars would not allow someone in under 21, Market Station was very friendly and said no problem as long as it is before 9pm. The place has 3 billiard tables which are free.
