Craziest restaurant experience I've ever had. Walked in at 8:40pm and the bartender was taking shots with the wait staff and cooks, seemed like it was a free-for-all. Server came to us, took our order then proceeded to pour more shots of jager for their entire staff. We got our drinks, she asked if we wanted shots (not gonna turn it down) so she gave us 2 shots each then about 30min later came back to our table and asked us to remind her what we ordered. Sat there for over an hour until we finally got our pizza and it was mediocre. Our server was wasted, she would rather talk than do what she's getting paid to do. We got the bill, all she charged us for was the pizza, no drinks. I gave her my credit card and she kept making small talk about how we should take another shot together and how we would love where she's from, she handed my card right back and took the bill, so we left. Strangest situation I've ever encountered and even tho we got everything for free, we won't be returning because that girl made us uncomfortable with how drunk she was. Slurring her words, eyes so red and glossed over, being extremely obnoxious. I've never seen anything like it. Definitely going elsewhere when I'm back in the area. read more

It was hard to enjoy anything while we were under attack by flies our entire meal. Paired with the owner and his buddies making racist comments at the the tv the whole time. This place is a true dump and I don't know how they stay in business. Keep your bigot comments to your self and clean up the place. Very bad service!!! Went in on July 9-2020..Went in to support local buisiness and the owner himself Marco..took our order..well drinking a beer, we had to repeat our order 3 times. We sat for 30 min waiting for our food and my husband went to see how much longer......and the cook said the order wasn't even put In!!!! Bad service, bad hospitality... and the owner is rude!!!! Waited two hours for delivery that was supposed to take an hour and then when the food arrived it was decent pizza not great and definitely not worth waiting two hours for. Looking at some of the other reviews, you might skip this place, and that would be a shame. The staff was very friendly when we stopped by for lunch (not always the easiest thing to get when our group tends to be picky and snarky - fun for parties, not-so-much for waitstaff). The size of the pizza is huge, like you see back east iin NY. DId eat here on a very busy night, which ment lot's of people in this kinda small table seating area. Service was good and the pie was delivered in what seemed to be a resasoniable time. No problem getting drinks or the waitress to ehlp us out when needed. The pizza I would say is very good, very filling and plenty to go around. A large pizza feed four guys, I do not think many places can feed fours guys with just one large pizza, but the pizza was huge. Would recommend for kids and adults alike. We ordered the pepperoni pizza, meat lover pizza, Cesar salad with grilled chicken, garlic dough balls, cheesecake and brownie. We never had anything this good. The dough is so good, could not stop eating the pizzas. The garlic balls Are great. The Cesar salad was small but they put a big piece of grilled chicken in another container and that is to die for. Both the deserts tasted home made with fresh ingredients. Can't really tell what was better the cheesecake was a very descent size, creamy and amazing. My family and I happened to stop at this cute little pizza joint by chance and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and service. Their pizza crust is amazing, and that is what makes a great pizza in my opinion. While the food is not what I would consider "high-end", it is absolutely fantastic when you consider the prices. The atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming. The reason I give Markos five stars instead of four is because my 7-year-old son left a trinket that he bought with his own money and was very upset when he realized it many miles down the road. I called the restaurant to ask if they had found it, and Marko offered to mail it to our home. With that plus the great food, they have won us over, and we will make a point to stop there every chance we get from now on. read more

We've been here before. Tonight we went and I ordered a small BBQ chicken pizza and the waiter (Alex was his name) brought a buffalo chicken pizza. I said it was the wrong order and he looked at me like I screwed up. He said "You didn't order the buffalo chicken pizza ". He said it with an attitude. So my wife was almost finished with her meal before the right pizza came out and we never got an " I'm sorry" or anything. He never even offered to take a soda or anything off the bill. My family has frequented this restaurant for at lest 20 years and it is our favorite. We have eaten at most restaurants in this ridiculous valley and have always come back to Marko's. At this point we will only eat at Marko's and one other restaurant in the valley because the food is consistently delicious and reasonably priced. Best Greek salad dressing ever and best calzones. They also have a fantastic spicy shrimp pasta that is amazing. Huge shrimp and very tasty. I never order pasta at an Italian place but this one is worth it. I love Markos! I have a certain taste for pizza, and theirs is amazing. I like good, thin crust pizza that is crispy but soft on the inside. I grew up eating good Philly pizza. This place is the only other place I enjoy other than what I get when I visit Philly. They have some awesome pasta specials sometimes as well--their fat butt sauce is to die for! This is a down to earth pizzeria with pasta dishes. I want to praise the pizzas for being perfectly cooked thin crust, generously topped and most importantly full of taste. We had 10 inch pizzas a 'meat' pizza with pepperoni, lightly spiced sausage meat and Canadian ham which hit the spot. Likewise the artichoke, olive, spinach & tomato offering could not be faulted. A side Caesar salad was fresh and crunchy with dressing punching well above its weight. Draught Guinness available from a can - sounds like an oxymoron - but those of you cognisant with the technology of a 'widget' will appreciate this great drink accompaniment to a meat pizza. Service was speedy if to the point. You won't break the bank here by any means. If it's great service that you are looking for, don't go near this place. I usually don't return to a restaurant after a terrible experience, but marko's food is not that bad. A few years back, I had a server that had a terrible attitude and even gossiped about my party where we could hear him. The trash talk followed a simple question about a price difference between the menu and the bill. Following his appropriately poor tip, he had the nerve to approach my truck and get in my face. When I got out, he ran back in the restaurant. I spoke with the MOD, who was professional, but still made excuses for him. I don't really care how bad your day has been, you work in the service industry! I then called Marko at home to inform him of our experience. Trying to remain professional, I stayed calm... even as he proceeded to belittle me and curse at me, similar to what I would expect from some back alley piece of trash teenager. Years later, I decided to let bygones be bygones and stop back in. We had a waitress that didn't even appear old enough to serve alcohol and whose level of service, knowledge, and attitude were all well below what you would expect from a restaurant that has been around for so long. She attempted to memorize our order, but then had us start over once my girlfriend ordered wine. In a very whiny voice and after a breathy scoff, she laid blame on us for having a complicated order. She then wrote down our order, but after receiving our food, I realized that my pasta was missing the chicken that I had added to it. There was no check back for fifteen minutes, even as our drinks and waters went empty. Finally, I told her about the mistake when she asked how we were doing from across the room/counter. All she had to say was "sorry." She then told Marko, who was sitting there for the whole ordeal. He did absolutely NOTHING, just had another shot with his buddy and walked out without even acknowledging us. Our waters were never filled, our drinks never checked on. The waitress told us she did not charge me for the missing chicken. I tried to lighten the mood by jokingly saying "well, that's good, since I didn't get it." She in turn scoffed and stomped away like a disappointed preteen girl. Sorry for the long review, but I feel that everyone should be properly warned about what to expect at Marko's. I have worked and managed in the service industry, from college bars to chain and even five star restaurants. I know first hand how a crappy attitude at the managerial level trickles down and affects the service and the food. Hopefully someone with some real customer service knowledge will open up an Italian restaurant to sweep this garbage into the Eagle River. read more
