Visiting my Mom and popped into this place after passing it a million times. SO glad we did and wish we would've stopped in sooner. We really enjoyed the vibe and the patrons were super friendly! The bartender was really sweet and swamped though never made us feel like we were waiting for a drink. Favorite was the pizza - I had the BBQ pork and hubby had the pepperoni, we sat at the end of the bar, the pizza was brought to us HOT and DELICIOUS!! Will definitely come back next time in town. We walked in and immediately the man behind the bar started yelling at us that we could not be inside the building and we had to go back out and around the gate. Ooookay. I see a menu on the counter and I ask if I can take that with me outside and he screams at me again DONT TOUCH IT. So we leave. As we leave, I check the door, is there a sign saying do not enter? Nope. And the door was unlocked so huh. I get it, times are hard with Covid and we're all scared. We were wearing masks. We were polite. Maybe you were having a bad day but yelling twice? Nope. Located on the hallowed grounds of the now-defunct Black Hole Brewing Company, Marks Beer Garden retains many of the familiar comfortable surroundings of the old grounds; however, Mark and company have made some much-needed improvements to the property to make it even more comfortable than it was before. Inside is a warm and comfortable interior with wood accents and comfortable seating. The bar itself is spacious with a great selection of local craft beers as well as other favorites from around the world and a full bar to help you quench your deepest thirst for delicious cocktails. But hold your horses, inside is not where the actions at! Outside boasts a very large and comfortable patio area that can accommodate parties of any size. At this time, the bar menu is very limited; however, the bratwurst and pretzels that are available are quite delicious! I couldn't be happier to see this neighborhood gem back in operation! If I could give them ZERO stars I would. We were on a Poker run as a fundraiser. This was our first leg of our journey. The "GM" came out and let us know that they weren't prepared for us and that they aren't open at this time of the morning typically. He was rude, unprofessional and confrontational to say the least. He yelled at all of us about not wearing a mask outside in the back. One of the riders ordered a Dr Pepper and he said this is a "f-ing bar" not a restaurant. Some asked about food and his bitch switch flipped again. I did some research and there is NO mask MANDATE for the county, the state, or the city in this location. There is a recommendation by the major but she flat out said NO MANDATE. This manager had zero customer service skills and zero tact. We don't want to hear your problems we want to be served. There is a way to portray you are doing your best but this jerk was exactly that a JERK. Never ever had a manager in the service industry be so unprofessional! I hope all 50 riders do a review. Most of us left without even finishing our drinks because the GM was so unprofessional! read more

This place is awesome! Back in the day, the Black Hole was a buzzing place and a great hang out. This place hasn't been this busy or this great since Black Hole closed. Mark is always available To say hi to and the staff are awesome. Haven't been in a night where there is music BUT I've been on night where the place is buzzing again. Come meet Mark and taste some great beers. This guy knows what it takes to keep customers coming back. He hasn't done anything way over the top during the remodel and he kept it homey and bar like. I've always had a great time at Mark's whether it's the food,drinks or live music(especially the Tuesday night open mic with the Aragon Brothers). A wide variety of beers or full bar and wine are available. Mark is there most of the time and is friendly to everyone. Although the indoor area is a bit 'cozy' depending on the crowd, the outside has plenty of space to enjoy under the massive cottonwood tree with yard games like jumbo Jenga, cornhole, darts or just hangin' out by the fire pit on chilly evenings. So many have tried this location. Consistency is key. Good service, good beer (and drinks) friendly staff! Staying open (believe me....others closed at random hours. Never could depend on them being open doing the hours posted. It's a big deal). Mark is a great host. Great neighborhood meeting place. Food items being added. Limited menu right now. I went there on Sunday, August 4th and asked the bartender what was good on the menu. He said that a brisket was just coming out of the oven now and that it was really good. I took his advice and ordered it. This sandwich, which came out on a good looking bun, was literally 75% fat and inedible. I was absolutely amazed that I was the first one getting a meal from this brand new brisket coming out of the oven, and I got the absolute bottom of the barrel type of thing. It was literally the worst order of food I have ever had in a restaurant. When I went to pay my tab at the bar, the same bartender asked how my food was. I told him exactly what I just wrote in this review. His response was "oh, I'm sorry to hear that." No offer to take it off the bill or anything else. I was really offended. Another person in my party had the pulled pork sandwich, which was really good. The atmosphere was fine but there was not many other people around at all either. A lot of restaurants/bars have come and gone in that location and I suspect this will be the same for this one, based on the response I got from the bartender. read more

I am absolutely bewildered by the reviews; it is not possible that I visited the same Mark's Beer Garden in Prescott. I had been to the former Addictions several times before and this is a dismal downgrade. While there have been several improvements to the formerly eclectic patio, the interior remains relatively the same. The seating is sparse; half-dozen 4-tops and a few 6-tops in the center with very blank perimeter providing a converted community center ambiance. The menu is so tragically limited that they would be better served to abandon the kitchen entirely and defer to a food cart or vending machines. Granted, the 'Beer Garden' name is an obvious 'tell' that it is not a dining experience, but the prior proprietors managed to provide a decent pub-grub assortment out of the same kitchen. I would comment on the quality of the food, but the apparently medicated staff could not sufficiently collect themselves to actually arrive for a food order to be placed. On that note, the young server was pleasant, but seemingly catatonic in his ambling around the floor while at the same time, the frazzled bar tender briskly thrust beers onto the table while looking the other way, mumbling some feigned courtesy then dashing off to serve the very few happy-hour patrons. We had high hopes for a local pop-in venue, however, with a me-too beer selection, disappointing interior atmosphere, non-existent food selection and dismal service, I don't suppose we will be back, that is, until real restaurateurs assume the premises. read more
