Great beer selection... but very poor service, feels like a local only established. Disappointing!

Excellent beer list, terrific pizza, super-friendly staff, pool table and darts inside, and a nice outdoor space. It feels like a real neighborhood bar. The downside is the background recorded music was WAY intense, and smoking is allowed outdoors -- for us, the music especially was the deal-killer (we could get far enough away from the cigarette stench, and we've accepted that Prescott is like France when it comes to smoking. Sigh). If you like hip-hop or heavy metal or are deaf so you can't hear the recorded music, you'll be fine. If you prefer a more chill music ambience, you might not like it. It wasn't just us who felt this way the night we were there -- another couple came out with their beer saying it was way too loud inside, but then the outside music came back on from a brief (and welcome) interlude of quiet and they weren't happy about it, either. read more

Neighborhood bar with pool tables and dart boards. Also an outdoor patio. I ordered the cheeseburger and fries special. They have weekly specials. A tasty smash burger style sandwich and perfectly cooked fries. The onion, tomato, pickles, and arugula toppings were tasty. Mark stopped by to chat about his menu ideas, including doing the Bob's Burger specials (if you know the show). I'm looking forward to coming back to try new items on the menu. I was pleasantly surprised The location is on a residential street. Would have never noticed it. I found it on Yelp and had to try it. So glad I did. The loaded bbq fries were fantastic, the burger plate was great and the pizza was delicious. You order at the bar and pick it up when it's ready. The alcohol and food paid for separate. The indoor seating is small and the patio with lunch tables is spacious and I believe I saw dart board and cornhole. Most likely a spring, summer, fall place for us since I don't know how many people will fit inside the establishment to eat. While they had a lot of options for alcoholic drinks, I didn't see a very big choice for beer...just a forewarning. I will for sure go again! read more

Unpretentious local pub offering a great selection of beer, cocktails and wine. Best of all genuine German beer on tap (Spaten, Bitburger, Franzenkaner, etc) as well as craft and commercial selections. The " truck" serves up burgers, bbq, wood fired pizza as well as other good food specials. Come on Sundays for the outstanding Schnitzel fries. Great service and friendly crowd. read more

Love it here! We stop in every time visiting and SO HAPPY they have their pizza back on the menu! The BBQ pork pizza is sweet and spicy with lots of pork and jut melts in your mouth. The bar staff is awesome and they don't bat an eyelash when they have to serve us tiny bottles of jager and always get a chuckle from the super nice locals - lolz! We stopped in on a Tuesday after a ride just up the rodeo. Mark the owner, and Brad the bartender were incredible welcoming and pleasant. We were there during lunch, which they told us they had just started doing a few weeks prior. We had an order of nachos and a fish sandwich. Portions were quite large, service was great, atmosphere was very pleasant. This is a great beer garden and bar. read more

Pretty rad hang out spot, preferably when the weather is great because they have a big patio/courtyard area to hang out in. I hear they have live music too, but no band was playing while we were there. The food is from a food truck, and is pretty good. Limited menu, but good quality. We'll be back! read more

Mark's beer garden is an excellent choice to grab some food and drinks. There was a variety of draft beers to choose from. Server was very friendly. I was very impressed with the "bar food." Definitely higher quality food than other bars. Pizza was very yummy. Wings were yummy. Not very sauce but had good flavor. I loved the BBQ fries. The fries were EXTRA crispy which usually I don't like but because they were topped with coleslaw, cheese and meat it prevented them from getting soggy and turn into mush. It was too cold to enjoy the patio area but it looked very cute. I'm excited to come back! read more

Mark's Beer Garden is the perfect neighborhood pub. In fact, it's actually located in a residential neighborhood. (Some older areas in Prescott are strange like that.) It's a genuine locals' kind of place, minus the "less-than-welcoming attitude" that is occasionally encountered by newcomers. As soon as you step foot in the door you can expect to hear an enthusiastic "Welcome to Mark's!" from a bartender, even when they're busy with the bar patrons. There is usually more than one bartender, often Mark himself is one of them, so the service is fast as well as friendly. Mark also does something unique to this area: The bartender's come out from behind the bar (gasp!) and will come up to your table to take your order and so forth, even if you're outside on their outstanding, large patio area. Simply put: the service and guest experience is as good as it gets around these parts. (A shout out to Mark, Amber, Shawn, and the other great staff for this.) Mark calls his food menu "Beer Food" because, as he told me, he doesn't purport to be a GastroPub or restaurant. However, everything I have tried has been freshly made, tasty, and satisfying. I will actually drive past some other fine pubs to come here for a beer just so I can placate my craving for Mark's Curry Wurst with kraut. mmmmmmm. There are no house-brewed beers, but Mark's personally curated mix of local, national, and international beers, in draft, Nitro draft, cans and bottles will have something to satisfy the most passionate brew hunter. Cocktails are not just an after thought, either. They have a small house drink menu, a full standard well, wine and a small but well selected top shelf. As a scotch drinker, I struggle to find anything interesting locally (The Point and PBC being the exception.) I was pleasantly surprised when I asked Mark about his Scotch selection, and he presented a bottle of The Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14-Year Old Single Malt Scotch. Oh boy! Let's give this a try! So... a nice, generous 2 ounce free-pour, with a splash of water to "open in up" and I was off to the spacious patio to enjoy a fine cigar as I sipped this stellar whisky. An experience like this is what I go to a finer cigar bar in Phoenix, or maybe Las Vegas for. And here I am, partaking in such a refined joy, in a neighborhood Beer Pub, across the street from a bonafide Prescott trailer park. Hehe... life is good! read more

The pretzel was bland, just tasted like salty bread, none of that pretzel flavor you would expect. The pizza was a waste of money, the kids wouldn't even eat it. The sauce tasted like jarred spaghetti sauce. The beer brat was probably the worst part which had the texture of a Vienna sausage and the taste to match. It had a gross smell to it too. everything was OVERPRICED. Had a cool vibe so I was really hoping to make this one of go to spots instead we probably won't be returning. read more

Visiting my Mom and popped into this place after passing it a million times. SO glad we did and wish we would've stopped in sooner. We really enjoyed the vibe and the patrons were super friendly! The bartender was really sweet and swamped though never made us feel like we were waiting for a drink. Favorite was the pizza - I had the BBQ pork and hubby had the pepperoni, we sat at the end of the bar, the pizza was brought to us HOT and DELICIOUS!! Will definitely come back next time in town.
