Love it like always.. it's just got this attitude and dankness I love in a dive bar- you can sit and kinda just blend into the space... what's cooler then a place like that in Jerome?! The place is small, intimate, and sexy with great music, jam sessions and karaoke. Plus an assortment of brews and seltzers (try the kombucha drinks). Matt, the owner, is awesome and knows a lot about the history of Jerome and now runs tours of this unique town. read more

Wicked City, wickedly cool. It was really a sheer accident, on my friend's suggestion, that we even went to Jerome. What an awesome city! So much charm and with an interesting, if not sordid, past. Naturally, being in a place full of unique bars and restaurants, we had to seek out those that called us most. Wicked City Saloon is a cozy, little bar up near the top of the city. Beer, wine, cider. Sorry, no food. But the owners do have the Haunted Hamburger restaurant up the street, so load up there, then stop by the saloon. We had the opportunity to talk to the owner/bartender, Dawn, between customers. Her husband popped in for a second. Not only was she friendly and a good listener, but she was helpful, recommending different sites and restaurants to go, including the Bordello of Jerome (a restaurant, not a brothel!). On a side note, they are not open every day, nor all year long, so check in before making the trip. That being said, Jerome is definitely worth a day or even night trip from Phoenix. And there are wineries in the area if you really want to make a go of it. One last thing: loved the hidden bathroom. Ask Dawn or whoever is on duty where it is if you can't find it. read more

My husband and I stop in every time we're in the area. Matt the owner is so down to earth and personable. He is also super knowledgeable about the town and is always happy to share. You can get some basic beer and wine, branch out and try lots of locally crafted beers / ciders / kombucha options, or be super adventurous with a strawberry cider smoothie. This is my new favorite local pub. The staff is super friendly and the vibes are really great. There is a pool table, shuffle board, video games, an arcade console and games you can use everywhere. The beer selection is fantastic and they even have a few small bites you can order. They play a super chill selection of music over the sound system and it's a really relaxed atmosphere. The owner started to incorporate live local music also and The Skavelinas had the place bouncing the night we were there. I love this addition to Jerome and the valley in general. It's definitely doing its own thing up there on the mountain and I appreciate the diversity it brings to town. I highly recommend stopping in for a pint! read more

Awesome tap house! This tap house is located off the main drag of Jerome but one quick stair stroll up and you're there. It's small but incredibly cozy. This place worked as we were there around noon. There were groups of people in but it wasn't anything too crazy. I'm not sure if the experience would be the same here if the place was packed! The bar is oval shaped in the middle of the bar. Each corner has a seating area. From table and chairs to cushion furniture to bar seating, pick your favorite. They server local brews as well as wine. The selection might seem limited but the options you have to choose from are just right. The prices are also perfect. The next time I'm in Jerome, I'll definitely spend some time here. read more

This was a great little hangout spot close to our hotel. Dawn was such a sweet host and bartender. The cocktails were so delicious! We stopped here several times during our stay and it felt like a home away from home. I highly recommend you stop by and relax. The bar itself is made of beautiful oak barrels and copper tops. "Where is the bathroom?" My boyfriend asked. "Just press on the wall there." He pointed towards the entrance. "Seriously?" The bartender nodded and continued on with his pouring. Sure enough, the bathroom door is unmarked and camouflaged, as it should be for such a secluded, speakeasy style bar tucked into a mountainside. The bartender was wonderful, and funny, and seemed to know everybody, but that didn't change his kind treatment of us, one bit! It seemed we found the locals hangout and were some of the few who were from out of town. They were full of not just local beer, but fully stocked on local wine, which was my drink of choice for the evening. I went with the Provisioner Red, now a new favorite. We ended up here after another bar told us that this place was showing the Super Bowl. It was quite possibly the only place showing the game in Jerome, not that that is why you should come here on a regular day. But it is quite clear that, like a true small town family, this place works together to support local farms and businesses and really gives a great vibe.
