If your garments are unstained and essentially just need crisping and pressing, this cleaner will do. If, however, you have a stain or your garment requires any kind of special treatment, this cleaner will disappoint and possibly enrage you. If your bad experience pushes you to the latter, it will likely be because the place is not only incompetent but arrogant and over-priced. Case in point: I took a knee-length, unlined, belted women's coat there to have a simple stain removed. I took the coat only two days after it was stained and stated plainly (to one of the owners) that the stains were the only reason the coat needed cleaning. I pointed out the stains, and confirmed both the source (greasy water) and the fabric (silk). When I returned to pick up the garment, I immediately saw through the plastic that the stains remained. The employee said, "Hmm, oh, there's a note." The note said that they needed my permission to treat the garment further, due to its stains. Why, I asked, weren't the stains tagged with tape and my permission asked for when I dropped off the garment? If not that, the most logical option, why did no one call me before or during the initial processing? Shrugs. Frustrated, I signed my permission and left. By the time I was half a block away, I thought, hell no, this is stupid and called. I said the fabric was already noticeably dulled from the initial processing (it was originally iridescent) and I was coming back to pick it up. When I got there, I asked for the garment and said I would not pay the $18 since the specific service I had requested had not been provided. The employee called the owner. The owner said I had to pay, that they had processed the garment. With an "F" and "U" I said, "keep it" and left. That's it. We've had other similar experiences with them over the years but this time we are done: We're never going back. Been patiently waiting over 6 months for the owner of this business to call me regarding a silk Ann Gish coverlet that went into their business with 2 small spots and delivered back to my home yellowed and ruined. I have contacted them a few times, brought the item back in and provided receipts for replacement. Tried to give them time and keep perspective as businesses have been under stress lately. Not one returned call. Throwing the coverlet out today and finding a new dry cleaner tomorrow. Awful service. read more

Have been going to Mark's cleaners for over 25 years. Brian, Debbie and their staff have always been very helpful, and their cleaning has been exceptional. For many years, I took at least ten items per week to Mark's. That gave them ample opportunities for mistakes, but, fortunately, my orders were always correct and on time. I have been here several times, always with excellent results. I come from a dry cleaning family and when I first moved to the valley I looked a long time before I found a place that I thought looked good. I remember emailing them with questions before I came in and I always got a super prompt response from the owner. I usually clean the major of my things at home, because coming from the industry I know how much it can cost you to take everything to a pro lol. But for those few things that need the pro touch I go here. They are professional, always have my things done on time, and are reasonably priced. I also love the drive thru! These guys are great! They restored my clothes that were looking worn out from another dry cleaners and charged me a super reasonable rate. I think it was like $15 for 4 items (no coupon) whereas my other regular dry cleaners charged me over $30 (with coupon). But even if it had been more expensive, my clothes look and feel fantastic. I'm not sure if they do same day service or not--their sign says they do but I dropped my clothes off at 11:30AM and they weren't ready until 5PM the next day. I may have just missed the window though for same day service or maybe you have to request it. I would never go to another cleaners. Even though they are kind of out of the way for me (I'm a couple more exits north past Shea) their work can't be matched, especially for the price. read more

This review greatly saddens me. To quote the most interesting man in the world "I don't always write reviews, but when I do....it's important." I'm writing about my AWFUL experience in dealing with Mark's cleaners. I will attempt so do so succinctly as possible. I dropped off an order SPECIFICALLY to be picked up next day because I was leaving out of town. I made it abundantly clear that I needed it next day for a very important trip. This entire conversation occurred with Brian (the manager). I made it clear that I would be a new customer if everything went well and the service was quality. He said no problem come back tomorrow anytime after 5. The next day I show up and the fun begins. My order of course was not completed. The ladies there were in a daze and could not locate my clothes. Everything was so unorganized; it was a mess. Finally, we narrowed down the few spots the shirts could be. I then had to locate them myself because they had no system of keeping track of them. The only problem with that was the shirts wear soaking in this solution that was in the back of the facility. The conditions were deplorable. It was really just an awful experience to have to personally find my clothes in this heaping pile of filth. After 30 mins I located all 9 of my shirts. They were completely soaked! Long story short I took them home with the help of the ladies that were working there. I gave them my card and told them that I expect a call from Brian. Long story short I spend 3-4 hours cleaning my shirts at home, learning how to launder my really pricy custom shirts at home with a conventional washer dry. It was certainly an adventure i will never forget. Upon returning from my trip I realized I had never received a call. I call Brian (The excuse of a Manager) to see how he could try to resolve my awful experience. This guy had noting. All he said was " I'm sorry" and " I don't know what else to tell you." Completely apathetic to the awful predicament this established put me in. I had left one tie there because we couldn't find it originally. He didn't even offer to give me a discount for the dry cleaned tie. He charged me $3:50 for the tie. In conclusion, it's not that fact they made a mistake, or the fact that conditions were awful, or even that Brian was a royal douche. What really made this one of the worst business transactions for me was the mishandling at every step, and the unwillingness to make things right. I hate writing reviews but this one had to be done in such detail because of the egregious errors in customer service. Anybody knows that's eventually mistakes will happen at the dry cleaners, but their willingness to fix the situation is what separates the good from the bad. read more

I try my hardest to never write negative reviews. I feel there are enough of those already but I feel people should be aware of this little bait and switch scam. The service is good and I've never had an issue with the actual clothing once it comes back. However I drop clothes off weekly and the past 3 or 4 times they have misquoted prices. When it comes down to a shirt or two whatever. However I drop off massive amounts of clothes at one time. So when I'm quoted one price per piece and it comes out to almost double on a regular basis .... So although I like the service and it's the closest to my house I will find another cleaner now. read more

Been going here for quite a while and WAS very happy until recently. They managed to lose a cashmere sweater almost 2 month's ago and, recently a pair of pants. What made me more upset about the loss, was their very nonchalant attitude in handling this matter. I was told that I would hear from them about a resolution regarding the sweater the end of January and, as of this date, have heard nothing. Best cleaners I've found in Scottsdale. Everything always comes back clean and well pressed. They did lose one shirt of mine over the years but they replaced it and in fact later found it and returned it to me. I just found out that they deliver and pick up. This is my first ever Yelp review. I was soooooo disappointed in Mark's Cleaners that I had to let other people know how bad they are. I have used Yelp many times to locate and use great business around the valley. It has been immensely helpful. I wish I had read the reviews for Mark's Cleaners. I would not have gone there. I took two very expensive pillow covers in to get dry cleaned. They were silk and had fringe with little multi-colored balls hanging from them. I told them they needed to be very careful with them as they were very delicate. They said , "no problem". They said it would take a week to clean household items, a long time in my estimation, but I hoped that meant they would take their time and do a great job. That did not happen. I went in a week later to pick up my pillow covers and they brought out a plastic garbage bag with my pillow cover literally in "pieces". They said they were going to call me to let me know but just hadn't gotten around to it. I told them this was unacceptable and they said "We cleaned them just the way you asked us to". I asked to see the manager/owner. He came out and said he didn't know how it happened. He said they put them in the "tumbler" and that was just how they came out. When I asked him what he was going to do about it he literally said "It's not our fault, They should never have made the pillow covers this way." No ownership. No apology. No offer to make it right or fix it.....Nothing. read more

After using the "chain" cleaner for a few years, it seemed as if my suits and other clothes were becoming worn out before their time. DO NOT USE THIS DRY CLEANERS THE OWNER (BRION) IS A THIEF!!!!!! I have been sending my dry cleaning to Mark's Cleaners for some time now. In January I dropped of my clothing to get cleaned a few weeks later I picked them up and placed them in my closet. Yesterday I was organizing my closet and noticed my expensive Arizona Cardinals sweatshirt was missing. I emailed Mark's Cleaners about the missing shirt where he said it was at the store. Once I arrived at the cleaners the owner (Brion) said he took my sweatshirt home I asked him why did he take it home? He said he did not think I was coming back for it. I had to call Scottsdale police department to get my clothing back. Once the officers got to the store Brion turned over the sweatshirt. The officers said he came up with some lame excuse why he didn't turn it over. Brion wore my sweatshirt, it is dirt, smells of his cheap cologne, and it is faded. I asked for payment for my destroyed shirt and the owner (Brion) refused. Anyone thinking of using Mark's Cleaners DO NOT USE THEM! I will keep you posted as I have taken legal actions for my loses. This place does nice dry cleaning, but it comes with a HEFTY pricetag and sketchy unpredictable pricing. One day, they'll charge you $6.00 to clean a skirt and the next day it will be $7.50. When they upped their prices, I didn't find out until I picked up my 14 clothing items and had a huge bill. They don't give you an itemized receipt here, unless you ask for one...then it's typically a huge production to get your receipt. When I questioned the changing prices, I was given blank stares by everyone who works in there. My husband and I are two working professionals who bring in about 30 items per month. Because of their pricing and business practices, we will not return to Mark's Cleaners again. And I predict that in this economy, a place like this, won't be around much longer. read more

Horrible place! I dropped off my clothes there and asked how much they charged. The girl told me $2.25 for shirts and $4.50 for pants. They said go ahead and pay when you pick up. I came back the next day expecting my bill to be around $25 based on the amount of shirts i dropped off. The girl came out and said your total is $50. I looked at the reciept and they charged me $8 for each shirt and $8 for each pants. I said the girl quoted me $2.25 and she said "oh well we noticed the shirts were Tommy Bahama so we dry cleaned them which costs $8 per item." I said you should have called me first before deciding to just charge me quadruple the amount you quoted me. She said "$8 isnt bad for Scottsdale. I said "im not paying $50 for my clothes when it should have only been about $25." She said "i dont know what to tell you im not giving you your clothes until you pay. dropped off 2 articles of clothing to be be mended and dry cleaned. A week later i went to pick them up and they had been misplaced and i was told somepone would contact me in a few days. A week went passed and i called back again i was assured that someone would contact me. Again no one called i went into the store on three different occassions to try and get my clothes. At this point the manager started blaming me because i did not recieve a slip... told me that there was nothing they could do. I asked to speak with someonw else and she told me the owner would call me ... after two weeks i called back to ask to speak with the owner... finally the owner called me telling me that i did not drop off my clothes and that there was nothing he could do... on the phone the owner was smug and rude... all in all do not take your clothes here if they misplace them you are out !!! Do not use this service. I dropped off a couch cushion that had no spots, but was a little rough in some spots so I wanted to freshen it up. I called them a day after it was supposed to be done (5 days now) and they told me that it wasn't ready for pickup. No call to notify me or anything. Once it was ready for pickup it was only dry cleaned on half of it! I will not be using this service again nor would I ever recommend it. Do not use or trust this service. read more

What a deplorable place! I dropped off a white sweater that did have a spot on it. I told them that there was a spot and the product I used to attempt to clean it myself. I was called a couple of days later, and told they had put a hole in my sweater, and they would give me a $20 credit for my next cleaning. I explained I do not want a credit, as I will not be returning. When I went to pick up my sweater and $20 for ruining my sweater, they refused to return my sweater. I told them to keep the money, and to return my sweater. They refused. So even though I said they could keep the money, but they refused to return my property. If I wanted more money, I had to provide proof that the sweater was worth more than $20. There is no way to prove that unless I still had a receipt. They claimed they "purchased" the sweater. It was not for sale!! It was there to be cleaned. They basically stole my property and absolutely refused to return it. The ownership is non present, and non accommodating for their mistakes. They have taken my time, my money and now my sweater. Don't ever go there! read more
