I called for a same day appointment as a new patient, they were able to get me in. I filled out my paperwork on line to save time. I arrived at the office and was greeted by very friendly front desk staff. I waited for a few minutes and then was brought back to a room. The doctor came in and I explained my problems to him. I had some X-rays done and got a treatment with a tens unit and ice. After that the doctor went over my X-rays with me. I definitely have neck issues and we discussed my treatment plan. The doctor was very kind & understanding.. we then went into another room and he adjusted me with a machine that definitely helped with my pain. After that I set up another appointment with the front desk Would definitely recommend this doctor and his office.. great service. I highly recommend this office I go to Dr Markson and I totally trust him. I've have some negative experiences in other chiro offices but have had nothing but great service and care here with all the doctors . I'm terrified to have my neck adjusted but Dr markson makes me feel so safe and comfortable. The massage therapists are great, I love Grace. She's amazing! I found Tokar Family Chiropractic/Markson Chiropractic when looking for prenatal care during my first pregnancy. Not only did Dr Tokar support my mind and body throughout pregnancy, she also assisted me during my postpartum recovery and also supported my baby in his first few months of life. She was there for me through the aches and pains of pregnancy and the emotional upheaval of postpartum recovery. 1. If I could give 0 stars I would. I called and asked if the Chiropractors do trigger point work, bc that is what I need. Dr. Danner was pleasant, and told me that they do it. I made an appointment, only to find out that they don't want to do that after I was told they did. My father in law is a chiropractor and my mother in law is a medical massage therapist, I have been getting this kind of treatment for 20 years. Before I moved away, I got treated weekly, so I know what good chiropractic/massage should be. A chiropractor should do thorough trigger point/muscle work on to facilitate loosening/healing the bound muscles. They are trained for that. I was eventually told that they leave that for the massage therapist (more later). They are more concerned with rushing people through so they can treat as many people as possible. Having a neck injury, I need more than a quick adjustment. 2. The massage therapists have absolutely NO medical massage training whatsoever and should not be working on injured people in a medical clinic. They absolutely DO NOT know what they are doing (aside from Stephanie, who is great because she continues to educate herself on the human body. She's the only one that comes close and she is worth her weight in gold. I am not referring to her). 3. They have the massage rooms directly behind the front desk where you can hear every single noise (down to a pin drop). You have to listen to every single conversation and phone call that is had! When they are stapling papers or being loud just forget that you've had a massage bc you're not getting the full benefits of it. You're wasting your time. Not being able to relax is counter productive to healing. The same way that it's hard to adjust a person who is tensing up and it can actually hurt the person, it is the same principle for massage. Relaxation is the first step to effectively healing and working on the body!!! More than one massage therapist told me that many clients complain to them about the noise, but the people either don't make an official complaint to the company, or when they do, nothing changes because Markson doesn't care and says their massages aren't for relaxing. They should know better! 4. The receptionist would change the massage therapist that I was scheduled to see without contacting me to ask if I was okay with it, or to tell me that the person I was supposed to be with wasn't able to be there. I showed up on 3 occasions for a massage and at that very moment found out that they had put me with a new therapist. I received no phone call/text to ask if I approved of the change, and no notification to even tell me. When I raised an issue about it, saying that I didn't want anyone other than who I had chosen, and that it wasn't okay to change my therapist without asking or telling me, the receptionist interrupted me mid sentence with a bunch of excuses and would not allow me to finish talking -- she literally refused to let me finish, put me on hold, and passed me off to Dr. Danner who actually listened to me after I waited on hold for a while. Keep in mind that I wasn't yelling, being mean, or anything else to warrant that behavior from the receptionist. I was simply trying to resolve the issue. That kind of thing has happened to me several times at Markson. The receptionists can be downright rude and very unprofessional and disrespectful! 5. The last straw was today... I received a text 45 minutes before my appointment that my massage was canceled today. I initially thought that this was perfect since I had an emergency situation that came up last night that I'm having to deal with this weekend anyway. I was happy to have that time back. So I called to reschedule. They said there are no more massages this year. Okay... I still want to reschedule the final adjustment. They flat out refused to reschedule me, saying that they won't do it. The receptionist put me on hold and passed me off to Dr. Danner. Same response. There is absolutely no reason I shouldn't be able to reschedule. Needless to say, I won't be going back. I was going to finish with them and happily move on, but I can't even do that. I have never experienced this amount of unprofessionalism or anything like this with a medical company in all of my 40 years. There are some nice people at Markson, but that's not enough considering everything else. If you are used to quick treatment and you can stay quiet and take whatever they throw at you, then this is the place for you! Don't have an opinion, be okay with a fast adjustment sans muscle/trigger point work, be okay with switching who you get a massage with without your knowledge, and be okay with a lot of noise and ruckus during your massage. Honestly, you can get a quick adjustment anywhere, and you can get a noisy massage in the middle of the mall. At least you'll know what to expect. I would suggest you search for something better. read more

I would recommend this place to everyone. The staff is terrific, and the chiropractors are great at what they do. I was a skeptic at first, but I'm a true believer now. Dr. Hoder has done wonders for my shoulder and neck pain. My job as a court reporter requires me to type for long periods. Because of that, I suffer from migraines that are triggered by tension in my neck and shoulders. My migraines have been cut down from three to five a week to maybe twice a month, sometimes none in a month. If you're having any pain, go and check them out. You won't regret it! The staff communicated the cost of the service and then changed it and charged me double when I checked out. When I shared that I had clearly been told something different, nothing changed and I was charged $160 for two one hour massage appointments...and I have insurance. I had recommended this office to a colleague at work and he and his wife didn't have a great experience with the chiropractor and stopped going after a few visits.
