Honestly, I go here very often. I know half the people that go to the bar there, including all the names of the bartenders. This is truly a neighborhood bar where everybody is friendly and welcoming. I can't tell you about the food, service or atmosphere because when I went in to have lunch with my dad at the restaurant side of the bar I was told I had to be 21. I could understand not letting people under 18 in all day and anyone under 21 after a certain time, but all day is just stupid. Great local bar in the neighborhood. They setup a back patio during Covid so after I placed my sushi order I stopped for a drink. They were doing the East Coast countdown since they have to close by 10, so of course I had to take a pic by their Times Square backdrop. Happy New Year! read more

I've been here twice with a buddy to catch Green Bay Packer games, because nothing says "we are a Green Bay Packer fan haven" like being named after a deep water sport fish and being located in a strip mall in HB. The bar itself is decently sized, but it get packed for games, so come early, be lucky, or prepare to stand. There are small-ish TVs over the bar and big screens in the main room showing a variety of games. There are also 2 pool tables if the games is getting out of hand. They have drink specials on Sundays (including a Bloody Mary, which is OK). The food is kind of standard greasy spoon fare, not great but not too disappointing. read more

Cool dark actually almost chilly so bring in your sweaters if you get cold real easily. Great happy hour deals and daily specials in regards to the food dishes. Big servings but I have found out that Happy hour is the way to go. Lots of parking and clean bathrooms. Ones small stage for music for Friday nights. Big flat screens for games. We grabbed the classic cheese burgers and ran a bit salty w double patty. So for a dive bar it is okay. PBR pints are $2+ during happy hour. Two pool table. I was impressed with my first visit to the Marlin Bar. We ordered the nachos, both the cheese and chicken were delicious and fresh tasting. Good salsa. Also ordered the antipasto salad and it was delicious and big. Drink were to be expected. Service was very friendly and prompt. We are retired day drinkers/lunchers and wish Marlin Bar was closer, excellent bar food. Wings are big and meaty, start there. Burgers are double 1/4 pounds and even the "American Cheeseburger" is great; like a better Big Mac without the mid bun. I go for the Western with one patty and the combo of BBQ n O Rings is great. We travel for the cheesesteak, gooey, bready delish. Fries are average but the mac salad makes my Hawaiian hub happy. The staff are professionals who have worked here a long time and their vested interest in success is clear; top notch service with a decent pour for cocktails.
