The blue crab bruschetta was the best appetizer in my opinion. For mains we ordered the risotto, gnocchi, lobster ravioli, New York strip, and chefs special. Each dish was worth clearing the plate. We paired our pasta with wine and Asa had the perfect recommendation for what would compliment my dish. We finished dinner with the tiramisu and a sweet dessert wine. From the complimentary valet (on Wednesday evening) to the live music and attentive staff, this place was worth every penny. I had a great date night the wife was a little unsure. We loved the starters and cocktails. Then each had a half order of pasta that was amazing. Finally we split a steak. Super stuffed didn't make it to desert. But we did enjoy the drinks and coffee. Unfortunately the staff is a little green. Our server seemed very unsure about all of my questions and had to keep asking the chef. Unfortunately our server didn't know how to properly bus a table dropping silverware on my freighted wife's feet. Moments earlier our server who is a big "hand" talker had knocked over our water spilling it all over my wife. Only saw a manager on the way out he looked overwhelmed at the hostess station. Fabulous! I loved everything about this place. The staff is excellent. They are super attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. The food was delicious. The attention to detail in every course including the bread with crumbs of delicious Parmesan served before the meal was next level. The handcrafted cocktails & mocktails were delightful. We had lunch here on a calm weekday when we realized to my dismay that Picnic restaurant was permanently closed without a warning. We didn't dive into the aged cuts this restaurant is known for. We had mostly a very Italian Lunch. My Caesar salad was delicious. Mom didn't like the buratta..... she didn't care for the strawberries on it. My risotto was quite good. My mom was happy with her main course. Service was great. The ambiance was great. This place gets very busy in the evenings, make reservations. After hearing a good review of their pasta from a friend, I was excited to try this restaurant! I chose the restaurant weeks 3 course meal and couldn't regret it more. The octopus appetizer was cooked great but super salty; and the sauce was just straight lemon. Tasted like lemon pound cake honestly; it was gross. Started getting nervous after that & I had every reason to. The red snapper was nothing memorable and again the sauce they used had way too much lemon!! Very overpowering and you could barely taste anything else. My friend was with me and we could only take a few bites. To make matters worse, our server was completely neglecting us. He was nice, but after getting our appetizer AND entree, he still hadn't come and asked how the food was. We had to call him to get service. I still tipped 20% because I work as a server but I was very disappointed. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars if for the "flower" cocktails we had; the only redeeming quality. Not a huge fan of meatballs but these were delicious! My pasta was AMAZING! I got a side of Brussels sprouts and was pleasantly surprised. I'd never pair apples with brussel sprouts but it worked! Valet is free but they do not validate parking garage Pluses -gorgeous atmosphere - place to be seen and gawk Areas to improve -service was less than stellar, the waiter had food on his collar and his recommendations were not helpful. He recommended the cheapest wines by the glass and they were terrible. My Prosecco was flat and he admitted he may have given me a glass of white wine instead . When we asked for alternatives, he recommended the priciest and we just opted to choose our own. Service was also super slow on a Friday lunch and there were no other patrons outside -oysters were nice and juicy but the mignonettes was a huge disappointment, the capers and crushed tomatoes did not suit my palate - calamari were stewed with tomatoes and very tangey, just overwhelmed the fresh seafood -bolognese pasta was al dente and great but the sauce was too salty -my squid ink had a great texture and the bread crumbs were crunchy and there were big chunks of crab which was very nice, the sauce once again was very salty -bathrooms are each separate and very dark Overall, underwhelming. It's probably a 2.5 star and bumped up by 1/2 star because it's a pretty place. Very expensive too. Maybe happy hour is a good time to come. I wish I could give this a higher rating because the service and ambiance were fantastic. But I can't rate it any higher because the food I got was overwhelmingly mediocre, especially for the high price. I tried both the Risotto and the Vodka pasta, two things that I have tried at multiple different places, and the only thing I can say is Marmo's take on these items is bland and uninspiring. If I'm going to be paying that much, I would hope for better quality. If you go there, I wouldn't waste time on these items. read more

I have been wanting to try Marmo for the longest time and it was amazing! The drinks were quite expensive, I honestly didn't think they were worth the price. The charcuterie board was delicious and had a variety of veggies, meat and cheese. They even brought out extra crostini. There was bread and cheese which came out before the meal and it was so fluffy. The squid ink campanelle had an uni cream sauce with crab which was so unique and flavorful. Make sure you get some of their focaccia bread served with fresh Parmesan. My absolute favorite is the squid ink crab pasta. I asked them to make this without onions. Next, I really love the calamari and I also get this without onions. It's in like a spicy soup with capers it's really good. You MUST try the roasted carrot salad. It's one of the best salads ever. I really love the chicken fingers with artichoke. I am kind of surprised because it's like not something you think about when going to a nice restaurant but definitely this is a must have. I had a really great experience. The service was awesome, and very quick/professional. The music was pretty loud upon walking in, but was comfortable once we got seated. The restaurant decor is lovely, very cosy yet elegant. I like the menus - it feels very "grand" in size, and little details caught my eye. To start, you're served focaccia with parmesan from their cheese wheels (absolutely delicious) and I liked the whipped mascarpone to spread. I was in the mood for pasta so the server recommended the squid. I decided to get the lobster ravioli, half portion. It's very rich so it was more than enough. The ravioli was undercooked so I sent it back. It was no issue and I got another plate within a few minutes! My friend got rigatoni alla vodka and it was so good. It tasted like back in Italy. This is such a gem. Their happy hour menu is insanely inexpensive, and the pasta is so delicious. I highly recommend getting their spicy rigatoni pasta, Caesar salad, and their oysters! I came for Houston restaurant week and oh wow! This place did not disappoint. I went with 3 others and we did a reservation over the phone. Super easy. They have complimentary valet parking which make getting to the restaurant easy as well. Staff was friendly and they provide bread, cheese, and butter. I kept asking for more cheese cahse it was delicious. We ordered oysters to share and it was good but the oysters are very tiny. Does not come with crackers, but they gave me complimentary crispy bread which was the closest thing they had to a cracker and it paired well. I got the fried chicken as first course and it was delicous, main entree was the steak and it was amazing. It came with this beautiful roasted garlic bulb and it was addicting to squeeze and I had it with each bite of steak and for dessert I had their pan Cotta. Great date night spot! It's located in a cute little plaza and for parking, you have to pay if you self park but valet is complimentary. It's definitely pricier, but we got half portions and left feeling super full. They also have bread service (basically someone comes around with focaccia and parmesan). What we got: oysters, lobster ravioli, and the bolognese. To me, the oysters were standout. The sauce it came with had Calabrian chilis and capers (which I've never thought to pair with oysters). I would definitely get these again. The lobster ravioli was chock-full of lobster, so I definitely think the price is justified. However, I'm not too sure I loved this dish and probably wouldn't get it again. Lastly, I would probably skip over the bolognese. A classic bolognese to me is full of tomato flavor. Their version had a bit too much cream for me and not enough tomato. The inside of this place is so classy, and I'll definitely come back here and get some drinks and apps. I went to Marmo for a company dinner of 15 people and had a variety of appetizers and pastas with a steak and tiramisu. The majority of the food was very average. I had meatballs/ charcuterie/ carrot salad/ fluke beef tartare. My favorite was the meatball dish but it was just your average tasting meatball. We had squid ink pasta, tagliatelle with truffle and lobster ravioli. The tagliatelle pasta with truffle was my favorite- it was very simple and wonderfully done. The squid ink pasta had too many flavors going on for me. The lobster ravioli was my least favorite, it lacked a lot of flavor and was pretty dry. For the main corse, I chose steak and was very impressed with it. My steak was very well cooked- crispy outside while moist inside. I would highly recommend the steak. The tiramisu was okay, it was similar to a dense bowl of whipped cream. The portion was huge so 2 or more people should be able to share the dessert. Overall, the staff did great with hosting a large party. The food was not too special for me. read more

The lady that serves the bread in the beginning just came to our table the fist time and didn't show up until we would have to call her twice to show up at our table to serve, we experienced that our server was rushing us to place our orders first with drinks then even before our drinks were there he came us to ask about our food we told him we would order appetizers first then give our food order but as soon as we gave him appetizers he said I can take your food order so I can take the menu away , I have been to lot of upscale restaurants but not feel rushed like this . Ordered the Tuscan fried chicken as an appetizer, and it was delicious!! For the main course, I love that you can get half portions of the pasta, that way you can definitely try more! Amazing meal and atmosphere to celebrate a special occasion! We were gifted a generous gift card to this restaurant by family for Christmas and decided to use it to celebrate our anniversary. Made our reservations about a week in advance and was only able to snag patio seating. Morning of got a call from a hostess advising us that there was a chance for rain and whether we would like to alter our reservation to a much later time to sit indoors or cancel. We took our chances and even though it didn't rain we were still able to be seated inside at one of the high top tables that are first come first serve after a 10 min wait. These tables and the bar seating are located directly in front of the piano and live music. So it's very loud, but still enjoyable. It's definitely an upscale restaurant however I did observe quite a few casually dressed diners in jeans and shirts even dresses paired w sneakers. Our waiter's name was David, he was solicitous and very timely w taking our orders and bringing our food. He gave thorough explanations of the food items. I appreciated that he explained the cost of the items that weren't clearly stated on the menu without any awkwardness. I definitely scoured the reviews on here before ordering so I already pretty much knew what I wanted to try and I'm happy to say we weren't disappointed! We started w the piccolo board w 1 cheese, and cauliflower soup. Entrees were the NY strip w hollandaise on the side, fingerling potatoes and a half order of the squid ink pasta. Hard to pick a highlight, everything was absolutely delicious. The cauli soup tasted like a cross btwn a chowder and potato soup, so creamy and comforting. The piccolo board had wagyu salami and a soft cheese which I can't spell the name of but was absolutely delicious. They choose it for you but you can tell them if you don't like something (for ex, we asked for no bleu cheese). Definitely enough for 2. Pasta was so good, generous portions of delectable crab meat and a creamy umami sauce. The steak is cant miss!! Loved the seared peppercorn crust and it was just so buttery, one of the best steaks I have ever had. Didn't need the sauce (which was a small saucer full for 4$) but it was delicious too. I don't think I could ever revisit this restaurant without ordering a steak--it's absolutely a must. We had leftovers that were nicely packed for us. The restaurant sent us a flourless chocolate cake w ice cream and a berry compote glaze for dessert on the house to complete our meals which was much appreciated. We also enjoyed a few glasses of Prosecco and beer w our meals which were nice to sip w the elegant surroundings and the lovely live music.
