PARKING: It's cheaper to use valet than to park in the garage. If you use the public parking garage, you are charged the duration of your stay. If you valet, it's complimentary (just tip). Also, if you have a large vehicle, it's harder to find a spot in the public garage because the spaces are tiny. Service is great. Everyone is friendly from start to finish. On the last two occasions during a holiday (i.e., Mother's Day) someone came around with complimentary cookies or bread/cheese. Atmosphere is pleasant. We went during an occasion, such as Mother's Day, and they had live piano music in the back which was nice. Plenty of windows for natural sunlight where we sat. The menu is interesting the first time but unfortunately felt dull the second time around. It'll be great to see more seasonal items new things on the menu. Overall though, the food is good - I recommend trying.
Great happy hour location any day, they only seat in the covered patio or bar area so it is limited. The service and dining experience was great, informative and friendly server. The food came out fairly fast, we did however have an issue with the lamb chops, they were overly cooked and we requested for medium. The server gladly had our dish replaced, and it was much better. Very tender and juicy! The other happy hour items were as to be expected, just sub par. The highlight was the meat balls and the beet carpaccio, they were delicious and tasty. Definitely a unique dish!
***Beets Capaccio A very Innovative way to eat a salad. Underneath the delicate layer of beets is actually a green salad mixed tossed with chunks of golden beets! The dressing was of a light vinaigrette. The toasted walnuts added a nice crunch and much appreciated rich texture to the salad. *** Tuscan Fried Chicken Kind of a let down, disappointment. The newspaper decorative element was interesting but the chicken itself felt very underwhelming. Too thick of batter. Serving size was not favorable. ***Lamb chop Initially the lamb was well done. I had to send it back for it to be cooked to medium ring. Flavor-wise was excellent. Although I would not order a chop of this size again. This is mainly just for taste testing. ***Polpette Classic two meatballs with a slice of bread. Nothing remarkable at all. ***Veal Bolognese Honestly couldn't tell the difference if this was ground beef had the menu not set otherwise. But there was very little bits of meat mixed with the pasta. ***White Fish Rillettes Very much reminded me of eating canned tuna with toasted lays. The only thing that elevated this dish was the caviar and even then, it wasn't that amazing. Flavor was kind of lackluster, felt like it came from a can. ***Raw Oysters This was arguably my favorite item off the menu for this instance. That was yours tasted very fresh and the cocktail sauce appears to be made in house and has a nice citrus undertone that pairs really well with the raw oysters. Overall I probably won't return unless they're menu changes. I think the vibe was elevated in the plating was also elevated. But the food just did not seem to bring home the same sentiment. Service and staff was really nice. Our server quickly rectified the situation with the lamb chops being overly cooked.
As soon as I walked in I felt welcomed and I could tell the service would be top tier. I went here to try their Houston restaurant week and it did not disappoint. The steak was juicy and had a rich buttery flavor with a perfect balance of salt. The atmosphere was nice. It's a bit upscale and more elevated than a casual place. There was no dress code. I did park in the garage which costed about $5. Valet around there is $10.

Marmo has one of the best happy hour menu's!! Happy hour 3-6pm Single serving pastas starting at $5! Great environment with indoor and big outdoor seating available, very classy and clean. What I ordered: Blue crab bruschetta Tuscan fried chicken Veal Bolognese Rigatoni à la Vodka Cacio e Pepe (only offered on happy hour) Chicken Parmesan Dirty martini Wine
Came here the other day for HRW which they had good options. It was my second time here but both times the pasta has been incredible. From the HRW menu we had the hamachi, skirt steak, and tiramisu. The hamachi (crudo) tasted very fresh and the garnishes they add goes very well with it, just kinda crazy how that appetizer is already $20 for regular pricing. The skirt steak turned out much better than I expected. For medium rare it was still so tender, juicy, and the roasted garlic elevated the flavor, I'd highly recommend it. Overall very well seasoned. Side note it's 8oz which on the HRW menu is the same as the regular menu. We added on the Squid Ink Campanelle which I've heard is really good and a must-try. It's very rich in flavor and the squid ink doesn't taste earthy or anything. If I remember correctly our server said it was mostly for color. Needless to say I'd highly recommend this as well, probably one of the more unique pasta dishes I've had. Service was great, they take your used plates promptly and give you fresh clean ones. Our server was friendly and was able to explain how the HRW menu worked so we appreciated that. Though the menu is a little pricey, I'd still come back to try their other dishes in the future!
I made a reservation at Marmo for a party of seven at 8:45 PM, but we weren't seated until 8:59 PM. Not a big deal on its own, but the experience went downhill from there. We ordered everything at once, and our server mentioned bread would come with a mascarpone spread. The bread arrived, but the spread never did. The wait for food was very long--by 9:37 PM, we still hadn't received appetizers. When the food finally came, everything (apps and entrées) arrived at the same time. There were also several order issues. My friend ordered a piccolo squid ink pasta but was given a larger (and more expensive) grande. I ordered my steak medium, but it came out rare. When I asked, the server initially insisted I ordered medium rare in a rude tone, then later admitted I was right and took it back. It came back overcooked and burnt--unacceptable for an $88 steak. The rest of the food didn't make up for it. My pasta was overcooked and falling apart, and the sides were room temperature and overly salty. To top it off, there was a "facilities fee" added to the bill that was never disclosed anywhere, which felt misleading. The ambiance was nice, but it was so loud. Overall, between the long wait, poor service, incorrect orders, and disappointing food, the experience was not worth it. I wouldn't return.
Ladies Night Out at Marmo was definitely one for the books! The vibes were immaculate--drinks flowing, laughter nonstop, and just an overall good time with the girls. What we tried: * Caesar salad - fresh, light, and a solid starter * Bolognese - rich, hearty, and comforting * Chicken parmigiana - cheesy, saucy, classic done right * Crawfish risotto - not quite the hit we expected, a little underwhelming * Gulf red snapper - THE STAR OF THE SHOW! Let's talk about that snapper...baby, it was divine! Perfectly cooked, flavorful, and sitting in that creamy sauce like it knew it was the moment. Easily the standout dish of the night. Overall, Marmo delivered on flavor, ambiance, and experience. Even with the risotto missing the mark a bit, everything else more than made up for it. Final: Great food, great energy, and a perfect spot for a girls' night or date night. I'll definitely be back!

Wow wow wow. This is a must try restaurant in Houston. Here are some details about the experience. The boundaries of Italian definitely are expanded by this spot! Our server Fernando was kind and informative about the menu items; including being attentive to our small party Atmosphere: Enjoyed a beautiful early spring dinner on the patio. Blending some people watching with great weather. Food: Delicious, creative and a party for the taste buds. Nice pre-course bread and cheese. Some seafood items, some traditional items and a few twists on before seen dishes (specifically regarding the apps) Service was good, but I was just a little thrown off by the mandatory 20% gratuity for our party of five. (Slight drop in the score) Good experience and all things considered, I would go again.
The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous -- such a vibe, period. The ambiance alone makes it worth visiting. Unfortunately, the noise level was a bit too much. In hindsight, we probably should have sat outside so we could actually have a conversation without yelling. That part was disappointing. It also took a little while for our waiter to come to the table, which wasn't ideal. I ordered the quail tortellini, and while it was very tasty, the portion was ridiculously small for the price. The menu overall was good, though. The appetizers were good, and dessert did not disappoint either. Overall, I think they could improve the menu and portion sizes for certain dishes. That said, the ambiance is definitely the highlight for me. I would probably go back for a couple of drinks and an appetizer just to enjoy the vibe again.
I came here during happy hour, and I want to give this place four stars for the excellent ambience and service. Food on the other hand was pretty mediocre. Parking is also quite difficult so make sure to do valet or park a little farther away on the street. Polpettes: excellent deal, but it is way too salty. Each bite was a sodium bomb. Beef tartare: I definitely thought the tartare would be a pile of minced meat, not a sandwich. I think the description was off because it also said that it served with focaccia and the bread we got definitely was not focaccia. The beef tartare was a miss for me. Bolognese: the Bolognese was also way too salty. This disappoints me because everything else about the dish was good. The texture, the flavor all good but insanely salty. Cacio e Pepe: this dish came out towards the end so I thought our waitress forgot about it. Luckily we did follow up and it came and I'm so glad I tried it because it was the best dish out of all of these dishes. Also one of the best cacio w pepes I have had..
Upscale Italian food with limited vegetarian options. I visited with a group of friends and tried two appetizers (Caesar salad and burrata) and had the eggplant parm. Eggplant parm was unique and tasty. It comes as a stacked square shape with layers of eggplant and a breaded crispy layer on top. I only saw two other spaghetti dishes available as other entree options. As with most Italian food spots meals are carb heavy for vegetarians and not as filling. Ambiance was upscale but service was very slow the day we went. Our food and check took a while to come out. Total meal time was more than two hours. I don't think I would visit again due to limited vegetarian food options and high price point.
My first visit to Marmo during Houston Restaurant Weeks was exceptional. The restaurant's warm, energetic atmosphere--filled with families and even a bridal party--set the tone for a memorable evening. Our appetizers, the bruschetta and the chicken and beet salad, were beautifully prepared. The Gulf red snapper entrée was outstanding: fresh, delicate, and served in a creamy broth accented with sun‑dried tomatoes. Dessert was equally impressive, with both the carrot cake and tiramisu offering a perfect finish. With excellent service and thoughtfully crafted dishes, Marmo has earned a spot on my list of places to return to. read more
I stand by my original review. The food is very middle ground in my opinion. Nothing is particularly bad, but nothing is that amazing either. In the heart of Montrose area, this beautiful restaurant has an outstanding Italian cuisine. If you come, make sure you make a reservation, they have a Valet that if you come to this restaurant is free. These beautiful western has outdoor seating, bar area, and main dining room, beautifully decorated, elegant, and classy, perfect for those special occasions. We came to celebrate my friend's birthday, and we got wonderful service, our server was attentive and gave us beautiful recommendations for the food. Food 10 out of 10, server service 9 out of 10, Drinks 10 out of 10, host 5 out of 10. Two things I didn't like about this place, they are not allowed you to bring balloons for a birthday celebration, and your party cannot be seated unless half of the party is already here. And they charge you to cut the cake, if you bring your own cake they're gonna charge you about four dollar cake slices I think it's a little too much Other than that, we had a great time read more

Came here on a whim. Didn't know they have a happy hour menu. It gave us an opportunity to try a few items and drinks. Our waiter Isaiah was very hospitable and gave us a few suggestions on what to try. He was so sweet and gave us a complimentary glass of prosecco to cheer our evening. They had live music, which we particularly enjoyed. We stayed after dinner and dessert o hear him. read more

Nice spot in Montrose!! Appreciate the valet which is validated by the restaurant. Excellent service- Nicole took great care of me and my friends!! Gave great recs too. The apps are just ok to me- meatballs are fine, charcuterie board isn't that large, all pretty standard. Not anything bad but not anything to write home about either. The mains are really where it's at. The squid ink pasta is phenomenal- the pasta isn't overcooked at all, the texture is perfection, and the crab meat is such a fun addition. The chicken Marsala was my fave- the sauce is full of savory mushroom goodness. Would come back just for these two dishes! read more

Went here for an impromptu date night! All the tables were reserved, but we were told we could sit at the bar and I'm honestly so glad we did. The bartender was super helpful and knowledgeable about everything on the menu and was very attentive and let us have a great experience. The food was phenomenal, and we definitely loved every bite that we had. We will definitely be returning in the future! Would highly recommend read more
Marmo has been all over my TikTok, so I decided to finally try it out with my family, and I totally understand the hype. I honestly think about the rigatoni alla vodka pasta daily. Gosh, it was so good. Not a want, but a need to go back! I ordered the piccolo size, and it was the perfect size for me. I added grilled chicken with it, which was okay. Maybe I'll try lobster with it next time. We shared the endive salad as an app, which was delicious. My parents ordered the gulf red snapper and veal chop milanese, which they unfortunately didn't like too much. (We'll probably stick to the pastas on future visits.) My sister ordered the spaghetti alla chitarra, which she said was okay. We made a reservation for a Friday night, and we were immediately seated upon arrival. The staff was very attentive and service was quick. One of the managers even stopped by our table, and we chatted with him for a little bit. They have a pianist near the bar, but we couldn't really hear them because there was also music playing in the background. There is valet available, which they validate. There's also a parking garage for the Montrose Collective area, but I'm not sure if you have to pay for it. Overall, I give 5 stars for vibes and 4 stars for food. I'll definitely be back, most likely for their happy hour with the girlies. Who can beat $5 pasta! read more

A great HH at Marmo! One of the best and affordable HH menu's I've seen. I would highly recommend getting the Oysters, Ceaser Salad, and the White Fish Rillette. The lamb was okay, it was a little chewy and the pasta could use a bit more salt. It does get really crowded during this time but outside seating is just as wonderful! Overall, 8/10. read more

Started with the Tuscan Fried Chicken and Calamari. I mean it was fried chicken so of course it was gonna be good, aioli on the side was tasty. Calamari was pretty good too I like how it was served. For the man I got the Veal Tagliatelle which also was good, nothing spectacular to note but really good pasta and high quality meat. Had The Corsini to drink because I love tea and this cocktail was super light and refreshing. read more
The service fro. Start to finish was impeccable!! Comfortable, not rushed, attentive but not overwhelming. We had the charcuterie starter and it was delicious. I had the gnocchis with Ragú and fava beans and wow!!! Was amazing. We did the small portions of pasta and trust me it's so much!! My husband did the penne ala vodka and the pasta was perfection!! Homemade and very good. Desserts were lovely. The panna cotta was for sure the way to go! We really enjoyed the whole experience as well as the food. 100% would go back and would recommend. read more

I've been to marmo for dinner in the past; and happy hour this recent time. For happy hour you have the option to sit near the bar or on the patio. Wine and spirits available on discounted prices. Cocktails for an additional fee. Food wise amongst the girls we tried the charcuterie board, Caesar, chicken bites, meatballs and vodka pasta. One of the ladies order the squid ink again off the dinner menu because she tried it last time and wanted the full item this go round. Service was prompt and efficient in the beginning. Slowed down a little as it got more crowded as to be expected honestly. We did have to change tables because the one next to us had 2 kids that were throwing ice from one of their drinks to another splashing onto our table. The mother had little to no control over them as they were going back and forth through the bushes and the walkway behind the patio. It was to the point we were going to tell the kids to sit down for her so we thought best to ask to relocate. Not sure if the employees were using the restroom to change before shift but the line was oddly long and many patrons gave up waiting. When they finally came available for those of us who stayed in line it was all ppl in uniform lol Either way we enjoyed the experience. read more

Friendly service, where water is refilled often. The happy hour deal offers smaller portions and allows one to try a variety of foods. The polpette is a meatball blend of veal and pork. The tomato sauce is great and plentiful and it comes with a toasted bread with a ricotta spread on top. The rigatoni alla vodka was on the firm side, but a very flavorful dish. If you like basil this one is a must get. The veal bolognese was stellar, and very flavorful as well. A happy hour without one of these would be wrong. We also tried the Tuscan chicken, which was good but not great. The garlic aoli didn't add much, and overall left some to be desired. Had an amazing time at Marmo! This restaurant is located within the Montrose Collective, a collection of shops and restaurants with a super cute courtyard in the middle. Marmo has both indoor and outdoor dining options, and my friends and I decided to sit outside for our meal. The vibe was really nice, with soft jazz music playing and dim lighting illuminating our table. The service was very friendly. I ordered the Squash Gnocchi with Braised Duck (a seasonal item, I was told) and a side of the Brussel Sprouts. Both items were so incredibly delicious. The Brussel Sprouts were crispy, sweet, and nutty, with a hint of spice. The gnocchi dish was rich, sweet, and just perfectly prepared. The braised duck literally melted in my mouth. My total, including everything, came out to around $55, which I thought was reasonable given the restaurant experience and the quality of the food. I definitely recommend coming here, whether for a nice date or a fun outing with friends! I will certainly be back! read more

This is a limited review given I only briefly stopped by for happy hour and sampled a couple offerings - but will update soon! A few friends and I caught a quick happy hour here on a Tuesday evening. My friend was able to grab a patio table so we met her there. The first thing I noticed was how popular this spot was! Looks like quite a few Houstonians are aware of their wonderful happy hour. The patio is spacious and has a great temperature this time of year. Their happy hour menu is awesome. They have so many options, all delicious, at affordable prices. I tried a little of my friend's rigatoni alla vodka which had such a lovely, savory sauce - I can't wait to order a full version myself. I also opted for the oysters for myself. They tasted really fresh and I enjoyed the Calabrian chili side they were paired with. Sadly I was heading to another dinner event soon after so I had to pass on their other offerings but I have decided I will certainly be back soon! Our server was prompt and attentive, also very understanding that some of our party would have to leave early and offered to split our check in advance! I came for the happy hour. It was pretty good pricing. I didn't try the food, but ordered the drinks. The tequila lemon drops were delicious!! I also ordered a tequila with sprite, but it honestly tasted like soda water. After HH ended, I purchased two shots, which were pretty pricey. It was $33 for two shots. However, the ambiance was nice. It was decorated nice inside, and there was plenty of patio seating. They validate valet parking, but there is also a parking garage. read more
On my visit to Houston I stumbled on this elevated restaurant for lunch. It was so gorgeous inside and the bartender and host were so welcoming. The oysters were pretty good and very fresh but the star of the show were the espresso martinis, squid ink blue crab pasta, and the lobster pasta. I visited Marmo during their happy hour on Saturday. You do not need reservations during happy hour, I was told by the hostess! It was a beautiful day so we were seated outside. Ordering was easy with our waiter and food cane out fast!..I got the meatballs and bolognese. 10/10! Everything was great and I can't wait to visit during dinner time! read more
Probably a pretty biased review - came in for Houston Restaurant Week with friends and our baby. Trust me, I get this is a nicer Italian restaurant and not traditionally family friendly - however they do have baby high chairs so clearly it's not "adults only." The employee who sat us told us we could not have our stroller out and made us collapse it (which was fine) and when asked, told us there was no where he could store it for us. He was pretty rude about it and put us off from the start. Also note there are no baby changing stations in any of their bathrooms. Again, I know this is primarily a higher scale restaurant, but would be great if they were a little more accommodating. Food itself was good - they didn't have the crudo for a first course option per their online HRW menu, so they must've sold out. Our server was friendly and attentive and I enjoyed the complimentary starter bread and cheese. I got the charred octopus (+$8 up-charge) which was good for first course. I followed it up with the skirt steak with the add on broccolini option, which was another +$8 despite only 3 broccolini coming out. Pretty insane unless they were imported from an exotic country. The steak was good overall and I enjoyed the garlic it came with. For my final course, the tiramisu was delicious. Between a glass of wine, an espresso martini, and my Houston Restaurant Week choices and up-charges, I felt the meal didn't really come close to the price we paid + the initial interaction that seemed very anti-baby (she was well behaved the whole time). It was also very hot inside - maybe the AC was having trouble in the heat to maintain temperature. Overall - will be passing on Marmo for a while but you may enjoy it. parking: 5/5! they validate valet parking. there is also a parking garage connected to the restaurant. ambiance: 5/5! gorgeous space. and a piano player :) service: 4/5. hostess was really sweet, server was fine caesar salad: 4/5. not your traditional caesar salad - it was very vinegary. which i liked! but i simply cannot justify spending $17 on lettuce. beef tenderloin: 5/5! so delicious and flavorful. $68 smashed potatoes: 4/5. really yummy but $15 for potatoes is a little crazy. skirt steak: 5/5! so yummy! $48 side sauces (chimichurri and bone marrow jus): 3/5. these were $4 each and the smallest portions ever. both sauces were fine. overall: 4.4/5 read more
What a great pick for Monday lunch! This place had been on my list and social media timeline for quite some time. They had a 29 dollar menu that included an app and entree and an additional charge for dessert. I ordered the corleone, house salad and gnocchi. I was pleasantly surprised and full. Came for dinner with a few friends! Had a prior reservation so was able to walk in and get seated immediately! Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful with several suggestions. I personally had the spicy rigatoni with grilled chicken and it was delightful! Very well seasoned and a great size for a half portion! Early reservations for dinner is highly recommended. Seated immediately upon arrival and checkin. Very busy during happy hour but valet is offered and validation is offered for free valet. George (our waiter) and staff was very friendly and provided very professional service. George provided his favorite and popular guest dishes upon our request being our first visit. I especially liked the crab brochette and the black ink pasta. Steak was perfectly cooked and juicy. Sat at dining area adjacent to bar. I bit noisy during happy hour but was not bad and still enjoyed the company and our meal. I would definitely come back again to try other items in the menu. Plenty spacious in main dining area and also offers outdoor seating. Make sure to check out meat window display as you walk to the restrooms next to kitchen.
