Yum! We've heard great things about Turner's Cut, so we decided to give it a try for Valentine's Day. They had a pre-fixed 4 course tasting menu with some of their best selling dishes. Every dish we had was delicious which is hard to come by! Some notable favorites - Wagyu w/ Caviar, Gnocchi Batonnets, Scallops, American Wagyu Tenderloin, and their dessert! Loved the overall experience. Everyone was so sweet and welcoming with starting conversations. Even going to the bathroom was fun as you got a drink out of it! We chose this place to celebrate Valentine's Day this year and it was a slam dunk. I've heard great things about this place (and my credit card also gives a dining credit here), so this was a great excuse to try it. For Valentine's Day, they had a pre-fixe 4 course tasting menu for $215 per person. A bit on the pricey end, but it was worth every penny. Parking can be tough in Autry Park, as several other businesses and apartment complexes share this area. You can valet for $8, pay for metered street parking, or self-park in the garage next door. For the self-park option, they will validate it which makes the parking fee come out to $5 for up to 3 hours. Our servers for the night were Esvin and Jose. Both were stellar and tag-teamed our table to make sure we were well taken care of throughout our stay. Esvin was very knowledgeable about the various items on the tasting menu and gave us solid recommendations. Jose was super friendly and comical with us. 1st course: Oysters and Wagyu & Caviar. The East Coast oysters were delicious and I liked the trout roe they were topped with. The Wagyu & Caviar was one of my favorites - served tartare style, the garlic aioli and quail egg went perfectly with the parmesan crisp. The pani puri shell was an added bonus for extra crunch. 2nd course: Gnocchi Batonnets and Scallops. This is not your typical gnocchi. Rather than small knots of dough, this gnocchi was served as long strings of dough which reminded me of Korean tteokbokki. Not to say it wasn't delicious - I really liked the parmesan cheese sauce these were bathed in. The scallops were nice and buttery; the charcoal bunuelo they came with was slightly bland but Esvin warned us of this when he brought it to the table. 3rd course: American Wagyu Tenderloin and Colorado Lamb Chops. The wagyu tenderloin was so good. Fork-tender and had a nicely sweet demi-glace made from caramelized onions. Now the lamb chops were both of our favorite of the night. The lamb had a nice char to it that added to the garlicky flavor. The meat was also super tender and didn't require much effort to cut. I especially liked the potato terrine on the side, which is a series of potato sheets that were finely crafted to make a "stack," perfect for pulling apart. 4th course: Chocolate Soufflé Tart and Creme Fraiche Cheesecake. The chocolate soufflé tart was to die for - very similar to a chocolate lava cake. While very rich, the Grand Marnier ice cream it came with balanced out the richness of the cake. The creme fraiche cheesecake won for dessert of the night. It is absolutely not your typical cheesecake. They crafted the cream cheese + mandarin custard into the shape of an orange slice. At first, we weren't sure whether we could eat the "orange," but it was all edible! The cheese was so light and while it did not have the typical crust, the white chocolate crust is something I didn't realize I needed in a cheesecake! Before and after the meal, there were extra special touches from the chef. Before, we were served a pre-dinner (non-alcoholic) drink - the intent was to cleanse the palate before you embark on your gastronomic journey. After, we were served what looked like peanuts, but was actually a fully-edible dessert pastry. It's the little things that add to the memory! We started off sharing a bottle of wine. The wine list, while extensive, does not come cheap. We chose a South American Malbec that was recommended by the sommelier and were definitely not disappointed. After dinner, my partner ordered a Ben's Old Fashioned and I ordered an Espresso Martini. The Ben's Old Fashioned is definitely not your typical old fashioned - they light it on fire as they serve it to caramelize the luxardo cherry and orange peel - great for the gram! And the Espresso Martini comes foamed with a photo of your choosing. Esvin took a photo of us at our table and that showed up on my drink! Extra gram-worthy! Big shoutout to GM Richard for his extended hospitality throughout the night. He came by regularly to check on us. On our way out, he showed us their wine cellar which has a semi-private table for 2 for folks who desire an extra-special date night experience. We made a comment that we hadn't yet been to sister restaurant Annabelle Brasserie and without hesitation, he walked us down there and showed us the beautiful interior. We will definitely be trying it out for brunch soon. Also, don't sleep on the bathroom experience! Not only are the bathrooms themselves clean and elegant, but when you step out, you are offered a taste of champagne or Macallan scotch. We "had to go to the bathroom" a second time, but unfortunately the post-pee drink has a limit of one per person. While Turner's Cut is not your everyday dinner (or even date night for that matter), it made this night all the more special. My steak came to the table lukewarm. The harvest and iceberg salads were good, but would just get the Caesar next time. For the price tag, I had higher expectations. Overall, not a bad experience. Love the look of the bar area. The main dining area looked like sometimes they play music but no one was there on a Thursday evening when I went. We visited for a networking event and were genuinely blown away from start to finish. The staff were warm, attentive, and made the entire experience feel seamless. The Parker house rolls were not warm, they seemed like they were sitting in the back and not freshly made would not order them again. Truly disappointed, we came for drinks and catch up, the Cesar salad was the only thing that had some appeal. Turner's Cut has been a name I've heard over the last year as being a restaurant that offers a high quality experience. Details grasped my attention such as a complimentary bar cart at the bathroom station and printed photo martinis. However, when I started to read recent reviews, I noticed people said these details weren't available during their service. I called the day before and asked about the bathroom bar cart. The hostess mentioned that they don't offer this for every service, only evenings where the restaurant is full. She did mention that if I tell our server, they would find a way to accommodate this request. We arrived at 7pm on a Saturday to a half full restaurant. They asked us to sit at the bar for a moment while they prepared our table. The bartender recommended a cocktail and mentioned his favorite appetizer is the gnocchi batons. We were then tucked into the back of the restaurant in a comfortable booth. I ordered the Cosmo martini, but it did not come with tableside martini service as I had dreamed nor a photo printing opportunity. When I asked about the bathroom bar cart, our server explained it was really a first year perk but they weren't really offering it anymore. He promised to accommodate our "bar cart" experience at some point in the service and he did deliver. However, I went to the bathroom several times that evening and it would've been fun to have that as a consistent perk. Our server was great; he was well versed in the menu and played well with our table's energy. We enjoyed the Wagyu & caviar, a set of otoro, hamachi crudo, gnocchi batons, tableside Caesar (which had this yuzu flavor I LOVED), Australian wagyu steak, short rib beef Wellington, Alaskan king crab mac and cheese, honey glazed carrots and potato mochi. I was very impressed with the food. My only notes on food were I'd pick the potato mochi over the gnocchi batons, the Alaskan king crab mac and cheese did not wow me, and I was skeptical of the short rib Wellington for value purposes versus price- however it did have great flavor and presentation. Our server plated a lot of our food for us, which was a really nice touch. The Sommelier was very patient with me as I talked myself out of and then into the nice bottle of rioja he recommended. It was one of my favorite wines I've had. We did not skip dessert- the citrus cheesecake was beautiful and tasty. They also offered us a complimentary dessert bite- chocolate peanuts for us and a cherry dessert for our guest with a nut allergy. We truly had an amazing time and the food was top notch, but I can't help but be a little disappointed that some of the frivolous details are being phased out. I'd prefer not to ask to be accommodated with the bar cart experience and wish I had gotten more of the martini details I had heard so much about. If I could give a 4.7/5 I would. read more

Service was very friendly, from our waiter, to the Cesar salad guy, to the floor manager. You can tell they like their jobs and had a great sense of humor with us. Although Turners cut is fine dining, the environment didn't feel stuffy and you actually felt full after the meal. My one complaint is people love the whole champagne/ macallen 12 when you go the restroom, but they didn't have that service when we were there. Wow... wow! It's been a while since a restaurant has impressed us as much as Turner's Cut-- from the excellent service to the delicious food; we were impressed with each dish and smile. It was really fun to celebrate here! ** Caesar salad-- prepared table side for theatrics and comes in a tiny portion, but man, each crisp baby gem lettuce leaf was loaded with flavor. The Caesar dressing is made in front of you and it is extra creamy and rich but somehow refreshing instead of heavy. Get the vinegared anchovies, yum! ** Potato "mochi"-- definitely no mochi or QQ texture here, but the light crispy shell contrasted with the hot creamy interior was excellent. Didn't even need the garlic aioli. ** Crab Mac and cheese-- fun strozzapreti pasta cooked al dente (yay, not mushy!) with a peppery creamy Gouda sauce. Totally tasty even without the crab. ** Egg truffle risotto-- beautiful and hearty, enjoyable even without breaking and mixing the poached egg. Enjoyed the mushroom pieces and cheesy flavor that wasn't overwhelming. ** Rainbow carrots-- cooked nicely without being mushy or too crunchy, and the honey butter really sweetened things up. Delicious :) ** Australian boneless ribeye-- love a good medium rare and they delivered! The steak was salted nicely and it didn't need any sauce. The flavor was so great that MT was convinced it was dry aged even though it wasn't described as such on the menu. Best steak in recent memory! ** Chocolate soufflé tart-- while it wasn't quite a souffle to me, this dessert was still yummy. The inside is a creamy, almost lava cake texture with a tart shell consistency on the bottom. I asked to omit the grand marnier ice cream and they offered to sub it with coffee ice cream which was delectable! This one will please chocolate lovers :) ** Vanilla panna cotta-- and while this one was also not a true panna cotta texture, it was a scrumptious ice cream / mousse that didn't melt. So much vanilla flavor, holy cow-- I would order this one if it was on the menu! Thank you for the birthday surprise :D Our team was stellar-- Ramone was the friendliest back waiter I've met, and Matthew was great at guiding us for the evening without being pushy (especially since we didn't order drinks!). They ensured our waters were refilled and checked up on us appropriately. The hostesses and manager, Richard, were all really welcoming as well. My husband and I came for our 19 year anniversary. It was located in a beautiful area we've never been to before. The interior was romantic and beautifully decorated. Our waiter was fantastic and attentive. We ordered jumbo shrimp and Bluefin for our appetizers. The shrimp were absolutely delicious and the bluefin was good too. I ordered the Dover Sole fish and my husband got the Australian Wagyu. We also ordered the mochi potatoes. The fish was so delicate and buttery, the capers gave it a perfect pop of salt. Despite having reservations, there was a bit of a wait to be seated so the hosts suggested we wait at the bar. They did also give us an option of an outdoor table that is in a non -covered area but it was quite cute and we decided to sit there. The inside of the restaurant is well decorated and has a nice ambiance to it. All service team members from the hosts, to the bar staff to our waiter did their best to go above and beyond (and even helped me with a special request that made the night even more memorable). I appreciate that at such a high end restaurant, there were a lot of nice little touches such as the champagne / McAllen pour upon exiting the restroom... how fun! I wasn't a huge fan of the cocktails on the menu and asked the server for a suggestion and for both of my drinks in the evening... he made fantastic and unique suggestions. Even the manager stopped by to say hi. The menu was discussed in great detail with recommendations for each different palettes. We dined with a group of seven last Wednesday evening. This upscale version of Turners is a Berg Hospitality Group that provides the top cut of beef and/or quality. The build out of this place is spacious and opulent with lots of eye-catching rizz. The dress attire is pretty formal or at least everyone looks well curated. This being the upscale version of Turner's give you some idea is expect to massage your wallet. With that said, the food here is exquisite. Some of the dishes I would recommend is 8 oz Australian Waygu Filet, with Au Poivre Sauce, Grilled Lobster Tail and their mashed potatoes was all so good. Try their Bluefin Otoro was buttery good, and jumbo shrimp with their sauces is another tasty option. One of the best steakhouses that I have been to in recent times. Or dare I say, maybe the best one in Houston! I was invited here by my bestie for my birthday dinner and from the moment I walked in I was impressed by the high ceilings and the intimate lighting. Even though our table was not ready until after a few minutes after our arrival, this little hiccup did not derail from the 5 star experience that we had. I wish I would have remembered the names of all the staff that we interacted with but I was enjoying every moment while there that I have since forgotten. Shortly after ordering our drinks at the bar we were informed that our table was ready and that our drinks would be brought to us. Our server was so professional and we were told about the fresh oysters from the northeast. I believe they were from the Massachusetts area. Absolutely fresh and beautifully presented. The agnolotti was ever so elegant with pepitas and stuffed with cheese. I remember spooning the sauce into my plate repeatedly. The main course and the highlight of the evening Australian ribeye. I am literally dreaming about it as I write this review. Seasoned properly, marbled and seared perfectly. I don't know how else to describe it besides that it was a carnivore's dream. Somehow the au poivre made it even better! The whipped potatoes that it comes with added such a velvety lux mouth feel. Thankfully we added some rainbow carrots with our meal otherwise our bodies would have questioned our sanity. Veggies always make or break an experience, and these were the perfect pairing to the buttery richness of the steak that just melted in your mouth. Apparently the journey didn't end there. Our gustatory delight continued with the mango mousse that was my birthday surprise and then we also ordered the chocolate souffle tart. The mango mousse was so light and tropical without being overly sweet. The chocolate souffle tart had all the elements of a chocolate souffle but the heartiness (spellcheck please) of a tart surrounding it. Honestly, I don't know how I would ever top this meal. One of my top dining experiences in Houston in terms of top-to-bottom quality, experience, and service. It was all above and beyond here (as was our bill at the end of the night, but it was fitting given the experience and enjoyment). We went all out admittedly, but we figured YOLO. Highlights from the menu for us included the tableside Caesar, gnocchi batonnets, Australian Wagyu, and crispy potato mochi. Everything we ordered was top notch and something I would order again in a heartbeat. We had a good experience here, although not impeccable. The ambiance is very classy with gorgeous decor, although I wish they were playing softer music rather than top 40 pop blaring over the speakers. Overall the food was good although it didn't blow me away (other than the gnocchi) so for the high prices, I think there are better options in town. We got the salmon tart, kampachi crudo, foie gras terrine, and gnocchi batonnets to start. Everything tasted good although only the gnocchi was outstanding - it wasn't like any gnocchi I've ever had. For our steak, we ordered the Australian wagyu boneless ribeye but either our waiter misheard us or he entered the wrong order because we ended up with the usda prime dry aged bone-in ribeye, which is a cheaper cut. We didn't realize until the bill came. Our waiter was very apologetic and very attentive through our meal so I'd hate to fault him for it but it was disappointing that we didn't get the steak we ordered. The desserts probably shined the most here. We ordered the crème fraiche cheesecake and the citrus meringue, both of which had amazing presentation and were delicious. But my favorite was actually an off-the-menu mango dessert that they brought me as a birthday dessert - I told the waiter they need to put it back on the menu, it was so good. There is also a drinks cart outside the bathroom where they'll give you a complimentary champagne or whiskey pour as you're coming and going to the bathroom, which is kinda fun. From the moment we walked in we where blown away, my husband brought me here for our 16th anniversary and it did not disappoint. From the amazing service everywhere you turn (I mean there's now waiting here for someone to come by) the waiter was top notch and recommended and suggested the order of all the dishes, and hello just look at the picture he took and put on my drink! My husband made reservations here for my birthday and from the moment we walked in, I was treated like royalty. For dessert we had the chocolate soufflé tart and another dessert, which I cannot remember the name of. Food was 10/10, presentation was 10/10. Cocktails were beautiful and strong! As for the atmosphere, very moody! Low lighting, beautiful design, calm crowd, but still lively with the live music playing. Had an amazing dinner here at Turner's Cut. And our server, Sofiane, really set the tone for excellent service. We offered assistance navigating the menu, pairing options, and timing. He made the night extra special. Then the food- the Parker House rolls are fabulous! We loved the melt in your mouth gnocchi, tableside ceasar salad was delicious. And although I am not an anchovies kinda girl, my friend said it was fabulous. Drinks were great, expertly prepared and the tableside martini was nice. The seasonal fish was absolutely scrumptious! Ended with the melty, gooey, chocolate soufflé tart which we loved. Can't wait to go back and try more things! read more

Great place to go for a celebration. The service was excellent and the restaurant itself was very nice and modern. Autry Park is also a great area to walk around. It is really coming along. Great location. We had our expectations pretty high after looking over the menu and reviews so that might have affected this. We got the tasting menu with a couple of other add ons, the salad, potatoes, oysters, and crab. The food is fresh! The Caesar salad was prepared table side and was very good for what it is. The crispy potatoes was very unique. Out of the tasting menu, there were only 2 dishes that I would get again, the Gnocchi and the Soufflé tart. The other items were still good but not amazing. They do give out free scotch and champagne at the bar near the restrooms. I would come again to try the rest of the menu. read more

Wow Houstonians we were really impressed by the new restaurant - food, service, atmosphere were SO on point. Yes it's pricey so it's definitely a special occasion or date night type place but it's well worth the price. There is a chefs tasting but it's also very easy to order ala carte. It's billed as a steakhouse but they have many other options. We were so pleased with the quality of the dishes and the friendly and NOT overbearing or snooty service! There are cute unique touches like a martini cart that comes by for a custom martini, and a champagne cart outside the restrooms where they hand you a free glass of champagne! I definitely think this is one of the very best restaurants in Houston now. read more

So I would say Turner's cut is really nice and the atmosphere is very pretty. The music is at a lower volume, so your meal is still enjoyable and they're not just like blasting music. The service was wonderful and so is the food. I would definitely come back. This place is very pricey so be ready. Especially if you are trying to order a few different things. Also, all their drinks are starting at like 25 bucks. But I loved it and it was probably the best steak I've ever had in Houston. read more

Being from Chicago, (what I consider the best food city in the country), I had low expectations for dining in Houston. That all changed after dinner at Turner's Cut last night. The second you walk in you are welcomed with one of the most noticeably pretty fragrances in the front entryway. I don't know how they did it but my date was obsessed with the scent. The bar area is stunning and whoever designed this place did a phenomenal job. White is the prettiest and most classy of colors, but it's also incredibly difficult to pull it off without overdoing it or making it cheesy. (Think south beach.) Not the case here. It is beautifully decorated. The accented smoked glass mirrors on the wall above the white leather booths provide a nice subtle touch while not taking away from the elegance. They had a live pianist playing upstairs on a balcony overlooking the dining room and she was phenomenal. Her voice and key playing were both excellent and provided an amazing backdrop and ambiance. We were greeted by our server, Matt, who couldn't have been more friendly, professional, (and extremely well educated in general and on the menu). Best of all, you could tell he genuinely enjoyed working there and took pride in it. He told us the story of personally visiting the farm in Japan where the Kobe beef is raised that Turner's Cut serves, and he was a great host. His assistant Ramon was also out of this world! Super friendly and talkative and advised us on having to get the spirulina dessert. (Which ended up being one of the highlights of the whole night) I cannot remember the name of the sommelier for the life of me (I'm so sorry!) but he was fantastic. He was nice, not too pushy, and steered me towards a fantastic bottle of Hundred Acre "fortunate son" cab that we absolutely loved! I was shocked to see it was a very reasonable list price as well which was surprising and appreciated. The food was out of this world. Noteable items were the campachi crudo, the Caesar salad (which is prepared tableside and a must order), the gnocchi (which is more of a gnutti but still excellent) with a heaping amount of shaved black truffle, the aforementioned Kobe steak, and the king crab topped with caviar. This was not a cheap meal but it was one we will remember for a long time. Definitely a place to share or create memories, and celebrate special occasions. P.s.- this place's bathrooms might be the most swanky, beautiful, (and pristine) restaurant bathroom I've ever been in. My date said the ladies room was as well and she was raving about the selection of hand soaps and moisturizers they had. This place is a 10 out of 10 read more

This place is absolutely fantastic , classy and friendly. The food is perfect size and extremely tasty. The staff is extremely accomadating . It reminds us of the restaurants we used to go to in the East Coast. Elegant date night. They have been extremely willing and accomadating for anything we asked for. It is pricy but the talent and quality of the work, the effort, and the dedication of the staff is worth every cent. The General Manager, Richard Howell, and his team was very welcoming.
