Listen, folks. I don't know the last time I wrote a yelp review. It's been years. But the food was so awful that I figured out my password just to write this review. The ambiance 5/5. Kindness 5/5. But most everything was inedible. (Other than the bastilla that was quite decent). Now, if you're not familiar with Moroccan or Middle Eastern food then MAYBE you'd be able to stomach this. This place truly is the poor man's Moroccan meal. As the reviewer before me said...fake Moroccan food. The lentil soup was watery and bland. No flavor at all. So little that even the lentils tasted like water. The "salad" also was bland, not the "authentic" Moroccan salad, and tasted like it also had water for a dressing. So hey...at least we're on a theme of hydration! Shared what seemed like safe dishes of a lamb dish and chicken tagine...and drum roll...they weren't cooked (let alone served) in a tagine! A tagine lends itself to deep flavors and is so special and distinct. Both meats seemed boiled. Preserved lemon is a quintessential ingredient and there was no trace as described (chicken). It makes itself the shining star when present and trust...it was off duty. Also for the chicken, instead of the classic, whole green olives, we had those tiny "American" green olives. Sans the pimento. The mint tea lacked mint and was even too sweet for the classic. I couldn't even eat the meal, y'all. Hands down the worst food I've had in recent memory. But, it does seem wildly popular and has some great reviews. I hope they continue to thrive, but I strongly advise thinking twice. I wouldn't eat here again even if it were free. Do yourself a favor and find a crock pot recipe for a Moroccan chicken instead. Done it before and that's where I'll head for my next Moroccan meal. read more

Other than a seating snaffoo that left our party of twenty a bit squished, this was one of the best group dinner experiences I've ever had. I danced with a belly dancer (others just put dollars in her dress - it's not skanky; it's artistic and sexy [you perv/tightass]), ate food with my hands (so did everyone else) and wasn't given dirty looks when I moved to another table to mingle (I think this is because we all got the same five-course meal). I'm very picky about meat, and Marrakesh served it up right: the chicken and lamb were both delicious, and my obsession with picking food apart gave way to just getting it in my mouth. Wow! I really want to give this place a 4 stars, but I can't. I went here last night with my family and some friends. The inside looks great! I love the pillows on the floor and the entire design.. Think of it as a insta-teleport to a scene out of Aladdin. We did the Royal Feast, which I definitely would recommend with any group, you get to try everything and don't worry about leaving hungry. The B'stille was SO DELICIOUS. I see that other yelpers have been raving about it too but seriously, SO GOOD. I had to tell myself to stop and let everyone else eat it too, it was so good. (note: we had the vegetarian version) Since my family is vegetarian, they were nice enough to split the main entrees as half vegetarian and half meat. But I have to say, I was very disappointed with the vegetarian options. It seemed like we just got a variety of steamed veggies on rice and this unimpressive yogurt concoction wrapped in eggplant (personal opinon? YUCK). Since I didn't really enjoy any of the main entrees myself, I left hungry. So to summarize, go for the experience. I wouldn't recommend bringing any vegetarians here for the feast though, its way too pricey for really bland dishes. Just be sure and order the B'stille no matter what! read more

I love this place! The first time I ate at Marrakesh, I hadn't had much ethnic food before, but that meal definitely made me a fan of Moroccan. There are five courses, all eaten with your hands: soup, salad, B'stilla Royale, main dish, and dessert (and mint tea). My favorite of these is, without a doubt, the B'stilla Royale--a pastry filled with chicken, sprinkled with powdered sugar and cinnamon. (Oh, just writing those words is making my mouth water!) I've had their prune chicken and apricot chicken, and both were fantastic (the latter probably being my favorite). There are belly dancers on some nights, so be ready for that, too! read more

I've been there before and they have a pre fix menu 5 courses $19. It's a cool atmosphere, you feel like you've stepped into a tent! I haven't had the specials just the pre fixed menu. And I can say you will leave here starving. We had a party of 18 and they would bring there dishes that would serve 2 people. So you would have 18 people fighting for a piece of chicken. I just thought it would be a cool location. The traditions were excellent but the amount of food person were sparse. We went to eat chinese right after dinner here. read more

We got a table for 7 right away, despite the fact it was super crowded. The belly dancer added a nice touch to the whole experience. Why not 4 stars then you might ask... The service was slow and then when they did bring stuff they took the plates away before we were even done with the course. They maaaayybe filled up our water glasses twice the entire 3 hours we were there. They were midget size glasses to boot. It was super hot and stuffy. Opening the door you step into a tented room, and suddenly you can't believe you are in Belltown. A hearty greeting and a wave of the hand as you are settled into your table. Selecting your meal, ($17 for 5 courses or ala carte) You relax against your cushion on the ground, or lounge on your bench . Your waiter comes by with a urn and warm water and washes your hands. Then the first course, a lentil soup. The soup is softly spicy and warms you up, next comes a grated carrot salad. This you eat with chunks of bread awkwardly scraping up the carrot pieces. The appetizer is a sweet chicken pastry, called a bastila, It's traditional and comes with a nice wack of powdered sugar on top. It's not my favorite but its part of the experience. (and complaining about it is like complaining about getting pickles on your burger at a traditional burger joint. It's part of the dish, if you don't like it request they leave it off) Your main dish is up to you, I always choose the lamb roasted and served on skewers stuck into the butt of an eggplant. Dessert is mint tea and a fruit salad. Nothing to complex just enough to sate you at the end of your meal. What I like? The roast lamb The affordability The atmosphere. What I dislike The seating. usually you're crammed against the next table and the neither the benches nor the cushions are comfortable to sit on for long. The service is rushed at times. We went here recently for my birthday for a romantic date for the two of us. Quinn made a reservation ahead of time. Overall, the experience was very underwhelming. We had been here before and were impressed, hence our return for my birthday. Our server (a young woman) was very unenthusiastic. Come on! This is a pretty special, unique dining experience. The least you could do is try a little flair. It was pretty awkward, "Okay, so... I'm going to wash your hands now..." No one would think you were "uncool" if you actually acted like you were having some fun. I get that you do your job everyday, but you'd get a better tip if you tried. So, yep. Not impressed with the service. They were also pretty stingy with the bread that you're supposed to use to scoop up the salad. You're not really supposed to use utensils, so they should probably be a little more generous with the bread. I mean, it's bread. It's not expensive. The salad was good, I think my favorite part. I also enjoyed the lentil soup. The filo dough with powdered sugar, egg, and chicken was okay. I admit I didn't completely enjoy the sweet/savory combo, but we somehow couldn't stop eating it. Our actual entrees were underwhelming. I ordered the chicken with lemon and olives. Quinn ordered the "spicy" lamb. Uh. Not spicy. Dessert was coconut pudding. Meh. And sweet tea. Meh. We love this place! Most authentic Moroccan cuisine ever. Lovely decorations and the owner is very nice and hospitable. We were here 4-5 times in the last 2 years and the belly dancers were very talented. The crusted pie entree is our favorite. Lemon and olive chicken dish is delicious. The 5 Course menu was the bomb. I went there while in town, and loved it. i had the lamb, my friends had others, we did a family style tasting type of thing. The service was good, and the belly dancer was cool as well. I've seen some other reviews on this site about how bad the food is compared to traditional, and I will admit - I don't have much experience with this type of food, but I thought it was wonderful. As long as you warn everyone in your party that they will be sharing food, eating with their hands in a darkened room and possibly sitting on a cushion on the floor its likely to be a good time. I recommend the feast option so you get to try various dishes, several are pretty rich (plum, apricot, almond etc) so its nice to have a little bit of everything. That said its also good to have a slightly larger party to get to try more (although it is somewhat romantic). Probably not a great vegetarian place since I think they excel in the meat dishes. The price ($20) is decent if you order the meal since it comes with soup, salads Marrakesh (personal favorite), a meat powdered sugar pastry, several entrees, dessert and mint tea. Great double date with my sister and her bf. The food was amazing, mixing many different flavors that I would never pair together. Powdered sugar and ground chicken in filo dough; apricot chicken (THE BEST); a salsa salad that you eat with bread. A truly unique experience and 5 course dinner for $20 each plus tip. Don't make plans or be on a time constraint, this is an event and we were there for nearly two hours just enjoying the relaxing atmosphere. TLDR: Fun experience; food was okay. Go with somebody you KNOW WELL because you may feel awkward making a mess with your hands with a rando. I owe my current yelp profile pic to this place. I had a good time at this place and I almost want to give it 4-stars because of it. Be prepared to eat with thy hands!!!. Think hard about who you are going to take here because this WILL be a much less enjoyable experience if you have to think about how to elegantly eat with your hands and figure out how to not blatantly lick your fingers on a shared dish. I came with the GF so I shamelessly 3-fingered (sometimes 4) through my food, the shared food, and her food. Your meal comes with lentil soup, a salad you eat with your hands and bread, and some sort of flaky meaty baked thingy that looks like a pie. Lentil soup was lentil soup minus a spoon. That was the most normal part of the meal. The salad was very watery and felt like we received the bottom of a salad bowl with the excess liquidy dressing. The bread wasn't a very easy thing to use to eat the salad and didn't really feel like it complimented each other. The meaty flaky pie thing was the messiest (and most fun) thing to eat with your hands. I cannot compare this with anything I've had before. It's like a biscuit, funnel cake (cuz of the powder sugar), pie, and taco meat. It was interesting... For the main dish I had a lamb kebob and the lady had a braised chicken. My kebob was dry and was indistinguishable from a very well done beef something. I couldn't tell it was lamb. The rice was pretty good and especially fun to eat with your fingers. This is like a kid's dream come true. The lady's chicken was mucho wet (not moist). It was very easy to eat with your fingers as the meat fell right off the bone. The chicken was great. I would have preferred it to be less wateryish tender. Some people may like it that way though. It seemed like it sat in a crock pot for a really long time. Dessert was a refreshing coconuty creamy white thing... It was good. Everything was overall good. I ate it all. Didn't enjoy the food much as i did the overall experience. read more

You feel like you've stepped out of Seattle and into a richly decorated tent in Morocco. The Royal Feast is an amazing deal at $20/person (less than $2 more than the normal 5-course meal, but you need at least 4 people). The menu is pre-set, which is great because we would have had a hard time choosing for ourselves. The only items that were less than amazing were the lentil soup (it would have been much better with a bit more spice to it) and the coconut pudding-ish dessert. But you could totally skip those and be extremely full and satisfied with the rest of the Royal Feast. Every other part of it blew our minds and busted our bellies. We literally had to loosen our belts, there was so much delicious food put in front of us. Warning: you'll need to take several (minimum 3) pieces of bread from the basket the server brings to pick up the yummy salad (like everything besides the soup and dessert, it's on one big platter for everyone to eat off - talk about a bonding over food experience!)... but don't fill up on bread. Pace yourself! Next there is a huge "appetizer": flaky philo bread filled with a meat and egg mixture and topped with powdered sugar and cinnamon. This unexpected sweet and savory combination surprisingly works really well, as evidenced by our empty platter. Then the main courses... yes plural! Not one generous dish, but 5. One was couscous topped with a delicious mixture. The lamb was the most tender I've ever had in my life. The 3 chicken dishes were also unbelievably tender and flavorful. My favorite was the apricot glazed chicken. Oh, and the sweet mint tea served hot at the end was incredible! Supposedly there is bellydancing Wednesday-Sunday, but I guess they don't go for very long after 7pm. There was no bellydancer in sight when we went at 8:30 on a Friday. But the servers are dressed up, and they do fun things like a hand-washing ceremony before and after your meal, finishing you off with a spritz of orange blossom water. Our server, who is Moroccan, was awesome and enough entertainment. We just really enjoyed the abundance of delicious food and the unique atmosphere. Glad to have found this gem! read more

Visited twice. The first on my birthday, the second with a friends family. The food is great and eating with your hands makes it even better. Just make sure you trust in the cleanliness of the people sitting across from you as fingers and nails dig into the meat. Mmm. The belly dancer was interesting to say the least. Not exactly what I had imagined the first time I went. So-so rating for the disturbing scene I witnessed the second time I visited. As our group was finishing up dinner, I watched in horror as the table opposite of ours was cleaned. Naturally, you would expect the waiter to clean the table with a clean rag. Unfortunately he did not. Not only did he grab the white towel that the previous patron(s) had used for themselves - as does everyone else eating at the restaurant... the waiter proceeded to pour water from the half filled cup [on the table] into the towel and proceeded to continue wiping the table! Not sure if I'll make my way back to this establishment. Am I wrong to be disturbed by what we saw? read more

Food was pretty good .. There was a special 5 course meal with belly dancer. Had soup salad appetizer entrée and dessert .. There was a choice only for entrée I had spicy chicken with mushrooms and my friend had lamb , both were cooked so well .. The only surprise that I had that there was no rice with it .. soup which was lentil soup was really good. The appetizer tasted good but it was like thin flour based roll with chicken egg filling with powdered sugar on top .. Dessert was baklava and there was a mint tea which was decent. Fantastic service, a fun/campy atmosphere and bland, wildly inauthentic food. This is how I would describe Marrakesh. I tried three main dishes, all conspicuously lacking in flavor, creativity and presentation. I'm just so disappointed. After my trip to Morocco my taste buds have been craving to return to authentic tagine style dishes. Not to sound snooty or anything, but I would venture to guess that those impressed by this restaurant are either: a) Unfamiliar with what Moroccan flavors are suppposed to taste like. or b) Too distracted by the belly dancer, by the ostentatiously costumed servers, by the kitschy faux Middle Eastern decor, or by the novelty of their server washing your hands prior to the meal, to realize that what they are eating is basically cafeteria food dressed up as Moroccan. Every time I visit Seattle, I visit a very good friend of mine and we find a food experience that's something you wouldn't normally go out for. Conveniently, Penny Arcade Expo was up in Seattle, so I punctuated one of my nights with a trip to Belltown and the microcosmic North African atmosphere of Marrakesh. For three people, the prix fixe option was plenty. You'll enjoy some lentil soup, some bread and Moroccan-style salad. They'll bring out a hot pastry filled with meat and dusted with cinnamon and sugar, definitely my favorite of the meal. Then a set of four dishes will be brought, with glazed meats on the bone and some wonderful couscous. You'll typically eat with your hands until the glazed dishes come out, at which point you'll be thankful for your fork. The meal is topped off with a bit of honeyed and spiced tea, and a small chopped apple salad that finishes the lot off. I'm not in a position to appraise Marrakesh's food against other Moroccan food, so I hope my ignorance will be pardoned when I say that two of the main courses had sauces that were a bit too thick and sweet. You'll likely sit on the floor, or on very low benches. Depending on when you arrive, there might be a belly dancer. Atmospherically, this place is a neat experience for a first time visitor, and definitely worth it in conjunction with some quite tasty food. The service is fair, though we had a reservation and still had to wait fifteen minutes, which is always a bit obnoxious even if I am willing to grant that the place was quite busy. Four stars is fair, as I'm not sure that I'd make Marrakesh a regular thing if I lived close by. Still, it is an experience, and certainly worth a look for the adventurous diner! read more

I came here a little while back with the use of a groupon with a few friends. Based upon the recommendation of my cousin, I was excited to try Moroccan food for the first time. All I knew coming into the meal was that we were going to use our hands most of the time, if not the entire serving. The atmosphere, service and decor seemed what I imagine Moroccan food to be - exotic and very Middle Eastern. The food itself was delicious and also fit in with the same mold of Middle Eastern cuisine. A lot of unique spices and flavors to go around, The food was pretty good. I think about the only thing we missed out on was the belly dancing. The food was good and the decor was great. I guess my expectations had been set a little high so I was maybe a little underwhelmed with my experience at Marrakesh. This business should thank it's lucky stars there isn't a thriving community of Moroccan restaurants in Seattle. Because if there was, they'd either have to clean up or ship out. You pay a lot to go here mainly for the novelty of eating Moroccan food and seeing belly dancers. The food is edible but not captivating; the waitstaff is fine but not excellent. They do nice things like bring water out to wash your hands before you eat. But overall it's just "blah". It's nice to go once for the experience, but chances are it'll be a one-time thing. This was a good choice for a authentic Moroccan food experience. When you walk inside the place smells and feels like you are under a dessert tent about to eat with some North African traders The only bad thing is that this restaurant in my opinion has a old and undesirable carpet . The service was good and the food was delicious. I recommend going with a group and make sure to prepare yourself for a belly dance performance. I took a risk for my 25th birthday and invited my family to celebrate by having dinner at Marrakesh. Though it was a risk bringing my Norwegian grandparents to a restaurant where you eat with your hands (which is one of the best aspects of dining Moroccan style), even they had a wonderful time enjoying the extremely savory five-course meal. The dining rooms in Marrakesh are lined with red wall hangings and woven rugs. Booth-like seating lines the walls, with low tables and leather ottomans on the floor. Before beginning the five-course meal the server brings a small fountain/basin out and rinses your hands with rosewater. Then come the appetizers-- spread served with hummous, an especially delicious sweet-meat pastry that you scoop up with your hands, a light yogurt salad, an entree of your choice (I had the Couscous T'Faya with chickpeas, raisins and onions in ginger sauce), and finally a desert with mint tea. The whole experience was very unique and satisfying. Marrakesh also has bellydancers on the weekends, I believe, and from the pictures on their website it looks like wonderful entertainment. It would be a wonderful place to bring a date, or to celebrate a special occasion. read more

Finally decided to try out Marrakesh in late October after hearing about it from friends and classmates. Glad I made this decision. My friend and I had the five course meal. Initially, I was worried about the quantity of the food...but it worked out well, and we weren't overstuffed (we were happily full though). Whether or not the food was authentic, it was a nice, cultural experience. Nice ambiance/decor, dim lighting, comfortable cushions to sit on, and sensual music. The waiter who was working at the time was adorable. He came by our table several times to see if we needed anything, offered us bread, and was helpful in making our dining experience both exceptional and unique. The quality of the food was excellent as well. I had the lamb and eggplant dish, and was in love with the salad/dip. Only regret was that the night we were there, the belly dancer didn't show up...but that didn't kill our meal. I would definitely come here again to catch the belly dancing, and recommend this place to anyone who wouldn't mind trying something new every now and then. :) read more

The place does take group on and other deals so you are a person looking for deals you might find some. Interior : very traditional and does give you a feel that you have gone to medeterrerian. its celining like a tent and seating is around table like family breaking fast togather. first of all they help you wash your hands. there is vessel you all hold your hands above it and they pour water . starter soup was good and so was appetizer which consisted of unlimited breads and salad(tomato, onion small cubes, egg plant mashed, with all spices) . you eat with your hands no silver ware. so if you are grossed out by that than probably dont go. the next is appetizer which is more like pie with puff like bread exterior and lot of sugar on it. the content varies depending on what you like veggie or non veggie. they consider egg veggie i think since i ordered and they had egg in it. your main dish is according your choice. i had veggie eggplant surrounded by tomatoe soup kindish laced with cheese. not something i expected but i think pretty standard dish for vegeterians going out. my friends had all kind of meat dishes and they were pretty satisfied. then they again clean your hand with water and rose water. then you get desser. something similary to kheer or rasmalia and mint tea. main attraction is belly dancing. i found her ok. i though it was an asian girl doing belly dancing not that i am racist but i did not expect it. she was ok with us taking video of her dance and she did end up teaching us some moves and we taking lot of photographs but in all it left me with a touch dissatisfaction some where. i cannot pin point what was wrong but its feeling of something was lacking music is arabic and quite nice if you are ok they do play di di which was a famous song from 1990's main question : will i go again. Probably with somebody visiting me and wants to see belly dancing yes. other than that may be not again for few years. the owner was very helpful and so were the employees. they seem to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. read more

Was in Seattle for my b-day weekend and scouted this place out as it had a belly dancer. As a novice dancer I had to come see after all the great reviews I heard about the place. We went for a late dinner after seeing a burlesque show just prior and were quickly seated. The waitress was perfect. Nice and and very friendly. We were seated next to a bachelorette party and across from a bachelor party, this place is popular. We ordered the 5 course dinner. The soup was flavorful as was the salad. That puff pastry thing was delicious and our main courses were mouth watering delicious. It ends with fresh fruit and tea. Can't forget the decor either. The seating was fun and the feeling of being in a tent made you forget you were in a busy city. The dancer was great and pulled up a few willing victims and it was very entertaining. Next time I am in Seattle I will most definitely be back! read more

7 years after, I returned to Marrakesh!!! I have an interesting relationship with this restaurant, I don't love it but I don't dislike it either. Walking in, the first thing you notice is the ambience. The concept is beautiful giving the illusion of being in a luxurious tent in Morocco! Low seating with couches and a table are surrounded by rugs on the wall. However, the pillows on the floor need some replacing. Some of them have sunk down while the others have faded and torn over the years. Moving on to the food, it comes down to what is being ordered. To get the full experience, try eating with your hands.Most dishes here are delicious. I'm partial to the B'Stilla Royale, and would come here just to eat that as an entree. The salad with eggplant is also very tasty. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of Couscous Marrakesh but love the lamb with eggplant, vegetable delight or Tangine of chicken lemon and olives. The dessert is just about allright, whereas the mint tea is icing to the cake at the end of a five course meal!! As far as customer service is concerned, the servers can do a better job with being nicer. The owner himself is very warm, helpful and humble but I've always had a hard time with the waitresses. We got quite a bit of attitude and shortness from our waitress AGAIN. This has happened to me before at this restaurant which is one of the reasons I did not come back. I realize they can be short staffed and have a lot on their plates, but its called hospitality business for a reason! Customer service is also one of the reasons I think its a 3 star restaurant. Marrakesh turned out to be a fun place to go for New Years Eve dinner, though the food was only average. Although it has a scary no-windows exterior that made me wonder if we would be walking into an empty, seedy strip club, it turned out to have a festive faux-tent atmosphere inside. Besides, we were seated almost immediately when the place was packed and we made no reservations, and the owner/manager(?) attended to us immediately, which gave me a great good impression. The only food option we had was the 5-course prix fixe menu: lentil soup; salad; some kind of flaky pastry stuffed with meat and sweet things; the entree (the only one you pick); and baklava with mint tea. Almost everything you eat with your hands. Now, I don't mind eating with my hands, but some things just don't seem to be good without utensils. The salad and the flaky pastry were particularly hard. Since we only got two small rolls to eat the salad with, there was quite of bit of chopped lettuce and tomato that we left on the plate because we simply couldn't eat it after the bread was gone. The flaky pastry was also really hard to eat without a fork. For entrees, we both ordered the brochettes, which are basically kabobs with a small pile of saffron rice. The rice was "eh" - it was Uncle Ben's quality. The chicken brochette was good - juicy and tender, though the flavoring was average. The beef brochette was dry and hard to chew. (I was the one who ordered beef, so I'm really my date was willing to exchange a kabob with me!) The mint tea was great and so was the baklava, but seriously, I've never had bad mint tea or baklava. You just can't go wrong with that much sucrose. One thing that makes this place fun - other than the faux-tent and neat seating - was the belly dancer and the music. The dancer was very enthusiastic and could do cool things with a sword. I also liked the hand-washing in between courses. All-in-all, this is a great place to go if you want fun and entertainment, but if I want to go out for some seriously good food, it wouldn't be on my list of top choices. read more

Salad was tasty.. the whole eat with your hands bit is a bit strange but that's the culture i guess. Lamb was tender and delicous.. had some rice on the side.. The dessert was alright.. not as good as i had hoped, but it's pudding so didn't have too much expectations. for the money it's pretty solid. overall the facility can handle pretty large groups. i do wish the seats were a little more comfortable.. read more

I was walking in Belltown with a friend and just happened to spot this restaurant. We hadnt tried Moroccan food before so thought of trying it out... From the outside, it didnt seem very impressive but the inside was very different. The ambience is very good. It gives a very warm feeling. The service is very good. Dang! I was sooo wanting to love this place! Maybe we went on an off night but things were really sub-par during my first (and likely last) visit to Marrakesh. The service was a little pushy (it was obvious our server didn't want to be there). She would set dishes down quickly and walk away without giving us any sort of explanation about what was before us. We had to flag her down for drinks and she offered absolutely no help or direction with the menu whatsoever. The food was just alright. The chicken dishes were all overcooked and dry, the flavors were all pretty lifeless - the lamb was decent though. Not the fun experience I'd hoped for - but I'd be willing to forgive that had the food been any good. I'm giving 2 starts for the unique "idea" of the place... though I'm now finding the city might offer some other, better options for this elsewhere. read more

After waiting a while at the front door for them to come and ask me if I had a reservation, they clearly don't follow the norm for reservations. They just seat you on any table available. They don't care if you called in advance at all. Whatever. The server was absent for the first 10 minutes of our being sat. Then she comes over and explains that everyone gets to pick one of the entrees and the rest is the same for everyone (soup and salad), and leaves for 10 more minutes. They finally start bringing the food and I mention a food allergy that I have that is my normal approach when at a new cuisine restaurant. She acknowledges it and assures me that none of the food has it. I happily order from the menu and await my food. Of course the super smart server know nothing about allergies or the morrocan cuisine apparently. Everything on the table had it!!! I ended up having a massive allergic reaction and had to leave to get medical care. Ofcourse my boyfriend and friends tried to get some sort of explanation for them being so stupid. And they still wanted to charge for my food, which I couldn't even eat. Finally we got a little angry with them and got them to not charge me for my food (which they fought for). Super yummy food, unique ambiance, and our waitress was really nice. I had the lamb, hubby had the chicken, we enjoyed all the courses & LOVED the tea. Our waitress even went back & asked them how we could make it at home and gave us a little recipe to follow. Very nice :) read more

One of my favorite spot in Seattle. From the moment you walk in the restaurant, it feels like you are in a beautiful, exotic land. The restaurant is draped with Moroccan style tapestry throughout. Guests either sits on the sofa or on a cushion on the floor. While you eat with your fingers, you also are entertained with performances of belly dancing. Always great fun! (Check before you go though. The belly dancing is only performed in certain times on certain days of the week.) Everytime I need to entertain out-of-town guests, I take them there. Food is also always good and consistent. I especially love the cinnemon and powder sugar coated pastry that it serves as an appetizer. I believe it is called the B'stilla Royale, and it always comes with the 5 Course Dinner or the Royal Feast Dinner. I also love the Lamb with Eggplant. The lamb is done just right so it is perfectly tender and succulent. read more
