I pass by Sinbad Express frequently when I drive around Fremont, so finally for once while I was in the area I decided to stop by. During the later evening street parking is free, so it was easy to get here. The staff work was friendly as well. I was craving a shawarma for the entirety of the week, but somehow Sinbad's Gyro was calling for me, so I caved in. No regrets at all, it was fresh and tasty! But I do wish there was more toppings, and a slightly better meat to vegetable ratio. There's seating indoor, and plenty outdoor, or feel free to have it as takeout. It's a decent spot for Mediterranean food in the Fremont neighbourhood. read more

This little restaurant was within walking distance of our hotel and had decent reviews. When we got there, no other customers were there. That caused us to pause, but we're glad we went ahead and ordered. We compare all food of this type to a place we loved in Penrith, NSW, Australia. Hidden gem in Northern Seattle, doesn't look like much on the outside with a statue of Lenin on the outside. The Chicken Shawarma Plate came with this side salad, hummus, and pita. Pita was fresh out of the oven, soft and went well with the hummus. Salad had a nice sauce on it tasted fantastic. We were totally confused and were wondering if the meat will be fresh. Came by pretty late after climbing at SBP in Fremont and most everything else was closed. I ordered the Lamb and Beef Gyro Plate and it was delicious -- the portions were large and I felt super satisfied afterward. The sauce that it comes with is great and I love sauce, so I dumped all of that in there. The worker was a little rude after I made a mistake while ordering but it wasn't the worst thing considering how fast the service was. After a very disappointing greek experience recently I decided to follow the reviews and go a bit out of my way to hit up Sinbad. I'm so glad I did! Sinbad is located in the triangle of businesses off Fremont, which seems like it could be difficult to find but it's really not and they have great clear signage. Parking is...well it's Fremont so it's not great but I was able to find a good spot on the street just on the side of the businesses and since I was doing pickup it wasn't bad at all. Don't let the area or parking deter you from trying Sinbad! The space is small and cozy with an area of tables to dine in and it smells really good upon entering. The man behind the counter was multitasking and it was clear he was an old hand at it and he was very friendly as I ordered. I ordered a chicken gyro, falafel and hummus and pita with 2 extra pita. I appreciated that they have a small and large order of falafel, it's pretty rare to find that. My order was ready in a decent amount of time, not too quick and it was made fresh. The man working was so nice and sent me off with a bag of warm delicious smelling food. Everything was delicious. Absolutely delicious and well worth taking a bit of a detour home. The falafel was fresh and warm and was perfectly soft and firm where it needed to be. Hummus and pita was fantastic and he was very generous with my extra pita. The chicken gyro is by far my favorite gyro now; there was a perfect amount of meat and veggies and it was crunchy and savory. No hint of dry meat or soggy veggies or pita was found. As I was eating enthusiastically I realized part of the reason I was so happy was that the food was made by someone with experience as well as love and that makes a HUGE difference. Everything was assembled so nicely and I can't emphasize the freshness and quality of the ingredients enough. If you've been on the fence about Sinbad, just give it a shot. Be patient with the parking and just know that your food will make it all worthwhile. Side note: as I was leaving I swear fellow Yelper Marie B was entering with the Homie! Not the best but not the worst. I'm not exactly ecstatic about my order, but it's still good. They move at their own pace, which is slow fast. I swear it took for ever for me to get to the front so I could let the teller know I was here to pick up my order. The teller was on the phone so it slightly slowed him down, but barely. My order wasn't ready so I waited. When I sat down u realized it had only been 6 minutes since I ordered on the phone. So I decided to walk out for fresh air and boom, order was ready. Let's talk about the location, good luck finding parking, luckily I rode my bike for this trip. If you live in the area, this is perfect as there is both indoor and common outdoor seating which is right off the main road. Perfect for people watching while eating. I even caught a bit of the sunset. Makes me think about even moving to the area. After a run, I needed some fuel and this place was close by and it was open. We decided to get the super plate with cauliflower and eggplants. It came with hummus, pita, salad, rice and a soft drink. We also got the Sinbad fries which seems to be popular here. I also got a free drink for a yelp check in :) The gyro fries was pretty good. It was cooked to order so the fries was still crispy and I like that they didn't over sauce the dish. But they definitely did not go easy on the meat, there was a lot! The super plate was good too. Especially the cauliflower, that was so flavorful and I like the subtle crisp to it. The rice was on the bland side but everything else was pretty good They didn't skimp on portion either as we couldn't finish our food and had leftover. This place was wonderful! Other than having issues trying to get inside. You really have to pull the door! We thought it was closed we were confused lol. But once we got in we ordered to go and got a gyro and a gyro salad. Both were delicious! I loved the salad 5/5. It's really lemony but the sauce and cheese cuts it and becomes a great balance. The cashier was also the dude making our food I think unless I saw wrong but he was a very nice guy. The interior had a good amount of seating. The gyros are good here! I visited Sinbad Express for a quick lunch in Fremont. It had a been a long time since I had a good gyro, and Sinbad Express definitely hit the spot. On a weekday for a late lunch, close to 2PM, the place was quiet, with only two patrons dining in. There were a few people getting takeout. But I was easily able to find a seat by the window. The space is located in a small business complex, right behind the Lenin statue. You can't miss it. I ordered the Sinbad gyro, and to my understanding from the employee, it differs from the standard gyro because of the garlic sauce and feta addition. The standard gyro has tzatziki sauce instead of the garlic sauce. I would recommend upgrading to the Sinbad gyro for a dollar more because the garlic sauce was very good! I also ordered a small fries to go with, and if you check-in on Yelp, you get a free drink. For dining in, they bring your meal to you. It didn't take long for me to get my lunch and everything was made once ordered. The Sinbad gyro was packed with beef and lamb gyro meat, and it had a really nice sauce from the cook of the meat. Yum! The garlic sauce was also good, with the feta. It also came with lettuce, tomato and caramelized onions, all rolled into a soft pita bread. The fries were perfectly crispy, with some seasoning on them for that extra flavor. I'm glad to have found Sinbad Express for a casual, quick lunch in the center of the universe. 4.5 stars This is a great place for your late night cravings after a night out in Fremont because they close at 3am on Friday and Saturday nights. We came here after some arcade fun at Add-a-Ball which was close by. I ordered the Sinbad's gyro with lamb ($8.65) which was really good. The lamb was soft and everything just tasted so good together. The meat, the sauce, the cheese: everything was on point. My drunchies intensified my taste buds and the gyro really satisfied them. I tried some of my friends' orders like the Greek fries and the Sinbad fries and they were both really good as well. I enjoy meat so I preferred the Sinbad fries. They gave pretty big portions so it might also be a good idea to split it with someone. Late night drunchies and loaded fries will always have a special place in my heart and I can store a place for these fries as well. I'd definitely recommend the lamb on anything where you can pick your meat. read more

Food (3/5) : Hummus Mix with Lamb and Beef Plate. Felt like it was little food for the price in comparison to other Greek/Mediterranean restaurants. The meat was somewhat dry. There was more rice than meat. Overall the taste and seasoning was good with the hummus. The pita bread was perfectly toasted with it being crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I would like to come back and try out their falafels. Service (3.5/5): There was only one person being at the register and cooking. He was very nice and understanding. He allowed me to get a water for the meal rather than a soda. The food came out within 15 minutes which I believe is a good amount of time for only having one person manning the restaurant.
