Stayed at this hotel a couple of times and have also attended a few events here. When I stay with friends, I usually pay extra for M Club access so we have a place to relax and hang out outside the room. It's a nice perk, although the experience can be a little inconsistent. Sometimes the snacks and beverages are well stocked, and other times, it's empty. The breakfast buffet in the club is good though. Overall, it's a comfortable place to stay. I usually book this hotel with out of town guests since it's walking distance to the Irvine Spectrum. read more

02/21/2026 - Hotel is decent. It's clean and the hotel staff is friendly. There is no self parking and they only have valet, which is $55 per day. I've seen some hotel guests park across the street in the parking lot for another business and walk over. The hotel does charge a $20 destination fee, which is typical for most hotels but I'm not sure what the destination is nor the amenities that is offered, unless they're attempting to list the Irvine spectrum that is nearby. Their fitness center is open 24/7. On the surface, it appears that these fees are hidden unless you're specifically looking for what you're being charged. You're hit with these charges on check out, which equates to the room rate that you see much lower when you're looking for a hotel and doing comparison. It's a decent hotel, but be aware of the fees that bring up the nightly rate that you think you're not paying ... but are. I stayed one night. If I would've stayed longer, it may have changed the experience. In regard to comfort and noise level, throughout the entire night, there are noises that woke me up constantly. From the noise of a loud car driving on the 5 freeway, to someone closing their blinds next-door, to the upstairs guest walking and dropping things, to the small fridge, and to the noise in the hallway from other guests. If you're looking for peace and not used to all of the noises here and there, I'm not sure this is the hotel for you. I was on the 12th floor. However, it does seem to quiet down around 3AM to 4 AM. At that point, you're frustrated at losing decent sleep. I take that back, as I typed this a loud car drove by on the freeway ... there goes another. I think if the hotel would have invested in better windows, that would've solved the freeway issue for me. If you're not used to freeway noise, this is a problem. Beds are comfortable. Overall, not a terrible hotel, I've been in much worst. read more

This is a nice Marriott conveniently located less than a mile from the Irvine Spectrum mall. They have a shuttle if you don't want to walk. The pool area is great for kids. They have a rooftop lounge with a full bar. The lobby is really spacious and pretty. The gym is on the 2nd floor and you need a room key to get in. read more

We came here to enjoy the bar and the ambiance. This hotel is centrally located and the bar here is open, has a patio, and plenty of space in the lobby. The food that was catered was fantastic, but the real shining stars were the Marriott members that provided exceptional hospitality. Mr. Gordon Fishmann runs a great crew and the bartenders, Bryan and Kory are fast, attentive, and super friendly. Very rude and unfriendly staff and customer service. Valet is $55 and your only option. We made a reservation at their roof top restaurant, they charged us $100 and never gave us that back or credited the bill and told us "oh that's just to hold you a table, you don't get that back" I had Never in my life paid to eat somewhere to then pay our actual F&B bill. This hotel is not the best Marriott I have visited. It has a nice view and amenities but lacks a lot of other things. There was no bathrobe, tooth brush, tooth paste. The tv was not working like other hotels and I wasn't able to connect the audio to my blue tooth. It definitely needs more upgrade. The shower is nice and the shampoos are okay quality. There was no spa center and the jacuzzi/pool were closed for construction. The kitchen offered nice food however only one servant is available and can be seen running around so fast from one table to another. They need to help the servants and add more people. The valet is nice in that they are courteous and help with opening the doors and moving the luggage. read more

We stayed at the Marriott Irvine Spectrum with our kids and really enjoyed many parts of our visit. The hotel itself is beautiful and modern, and it has a lot of thoughtful touches for families. Our kids loved riding the toy cars in the lobby, the infinity edge pool was a highlight, and the ice cream at the coffee shop and lobby downstairs quickly became a daily treat. The location near the Spectrum Center is also super convenient for meals and entertainment. That said, we did have a disappointing experience at the pool. During one of our visits, 2 individuals were openly taking provocative photos of themselves for OnlyFans (their words) in full view of families and children. They also referred to their body parts using crude terms in front of children playing on the pool steps. Several guests -- ourselves included -- voiced concerns to hotel staff, but nothing was done to address the situation, which was upsetting given the number of kids present. We felt the hotel should have stepped in to maintain a more appropriate family-friendly environment. Had it been a man taking these photos the police would have been called for indecent exposure around minors. It's unfortunate because so much of our stay was wonderful, but that experience definitely impacted how comfortable we felt as parents. We hope the hotel takes more care in enforcing respectful behavior in shared spaces in the future. read more

I didn't get the friendliest welcome from the person that checked me in, but the manager was professional and helpful. - infinity pool is not real infinity pool, rather has concrete edge - outside dining area small and far from pool, could have better ambiance - you have to pay or be platinum and above to access the M lounge with free breakfast - valet expensive $49 a night, and it was especially slow considering how many people they had working. It also was annoying when I could see the courtyard parking across the way and there was ample parking there. It was doubly annoying when I could see my car from the lobby but it took so long to get my key and car - room is nice and as expected with Marriott. Large windows. We had a confirmed written valentine's day evening reservation for an inside table. We ended up having to sit for 45 minutes waiting for our "reservation". There was no host stand, everyone seemed confused, they dropped the menus on us, and the menu is had a cheaper price than what showed up on the final bill for every item. I'm pretty sure my order was missing some ingredients because it was very bland. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in! Beautiful accommodations and amenities. The gym was empty when I went at night, so I got to enjoy it all to myself! Free electric vehicle charging, but only a limited number of spots. Right when you walk into the lobby, you'll be hit with a refreshing smell, in correlation with the cleanliness of every other aspect of the hotel. The 24-hour lounge was a great convenience for snacks, tea, coffee, water and cans of sodas. The breakfast served was delicious! If you're traveling with a big party, I think it's worth the price. Surprisingly, my favorite item was their oatmeal. Their indoor and outdoor seating options were great places to eat or just hang out. Their bars also seemed like THE spot for networking and socializing. There was a great buzz of ambiance in the evening. Highly recommend staying here, especially if you have pets with you. This hotel is so nice. From the moment you arrive it gives you bougie vibes. The valet is 24hr, they offer to charge your electric vehicle too if you have one. Room service comes everyday too. The decor of the hotel is modern. A bar overlooks the outside patio area and pool. There is an abundance of sitting areas for you to choose from before getting to the bar. If you have M club access that private room is towards the left of the bar area. On the weekends they roll out a gate by elevator 3 for guest going to the rooftop. We unfortunately waited too late one night and it was the cut off time to go there. Our room was the best part. We stayed on the 10th floor designated for Ambassador Elite only members. The room had its own kitchen area and an incredible scenic view of Orange Co. the view was my fave part. I stayed for about a week and was thoroughly impressed. The area is very walkable, with the mall about 10 minutes away. There are tons of shops and restaurants to choose from like P.F Changs or Cheesecake. All in all a great hotel with excellent service. read more

We usually stay at the Courtyard but we decided to give this place a shot because why not? As expected, the rooms here are much nicer than Courtyard. They have an M Club room which offers free snacks, coffee, and a quiet seating area. Access to the Spectrum mall is easy. There were a couple things I didn't like about the hotel which I'll explain below: Valet parking is $45 as of November 2023. My husband had a temper tantrum over that which made me annoyed with him, but I could see why he was so upset over that since it wasn't noted when we made our reservation. Their rooftop bar is super loud and you can hear it until midnight. Although this place is considered "nice", it's not upscale, even though it pretends to be. When we were here there was a middle school lacrosse team and one of their trashy dads who had M Club access allowed the entire team to hog all the free breakfast. My husband and I weren't planning to eat there as we only wanted the Illy Coffee (which btw, is REALLY good) and just go home, but I felt bad for the other patrons who wouldn't be able to get food. This isn't really the hotel's fault, but don't come to this hotel expecting a fancy visit. Their "infinity" pool is not an infinity pool, just a pool with a recessed edge to the concrete, lol. Not really a negative but Marriott, stop trying to advertise a feature that's not there at all! Lastly and personal preference, I think I prefer the hotel bathrooms in the Courtyard vs the Marriott. I booked using points and a free night, feel like it was kind of wasted here. First off, valet parking only so $55 if you have a car. Valet staff took awhile to acknowledge me so was awkwardly just parked in front for awhile not sure what to do. Room was nice but our fan didn't work in the bathroom. Also kind of annoying how they don't give you complimentary water bottles. $7 for a single water bottle in the room. Kind of ridiculous. Location is in the heart of Irvine right by the Irvine Spectrum. The lobby is large and clean. They have a really stylish lobby bar. They also have a Starbucks onsite along with a cute pantry store where you can buy (wine, beer and snacks). Rooms: Our room on the 4th floor had a beautiful view of the pool and the city. Our king size bed was firm yet comfortable. The bathroom is large and the shower pressure was strong with two shower heads. A little annoying that the bathroom door was a sliding door and would make a lot of noise when opening and slide back open constantly. Otherwise, fairly quiet at the hotel and a peaceful/relaxing stay. Tips: No self parking, valet for $39 per day Honey and Hive-- rooftop restaurant is only open Tuesday-Saturday so keep that in mind when booking a room if you would like to attend. Had lots of promise when it first opened. Common spaces very nice, rooms modern and sustainable. However, within a couple of years, the experience has significantly declined. Twice in a row I booked a king, and both times I was unapologetically downgraded to a double, with no change in price. In fact, gentleman at reception desk was quite rude. Rooms are now showing wear beyond their age (see pics), while prices continue to go up. Bed was uncomfortable, and pillows emanated questionable smell, while AC not exactly blowing cold.... Also, the small Complimentary bottle of water they used to leave in room is now no more... Will not be staying here again. read more

I've stayed here twice. The first time with family and the second time with a girlfriend, both times checked in on Thursday and checked out on Sunday. Love this Marriott property! The only thing I didn't like was paying for parking each day but it's SoCal and it's a thing there. Parking was valet only and we came and went and the service was always quick and friendly. The layout of the hotel is excellent. Loved the grassy area for the kids to play and the "toys" as well. So great that there is a fireplace with lots of wonderful seating as well. The pool area is beautiful. There are shaded areas as well as full sun areas with clean chairs and a towel cabinet. The jacuzzzi was bubbly! Food and drinks can be ordered poolside as well. There are cabanas to rent. This hotel has a lounge for elite members but compared to other elite lounges, just okay. Nothing spectacular. The breakfast was the same every day and so we ate in the restaurant. Starbucks coffee is available 24 hours in the lounge. There is a Starbucks full restaurant next to the lobby but it is only open until 2:00pm, weird. We enjoyed several meals in the restaurant, breakfast-lunch-and dinner and all were delicious. A little pricey, but delicious. Service was very good. Our room was spacious, clean, and included enough usb and electrical outlets. The staff was friendly and attentive. read more

I stayed here for a work trip and the stay was enjoyable. I liked that the room had hard wood floors as it makes things nicer and cleaner. The room was very clean and although had a view towards the freeway, you could also see the mountains which was beautiful. The bathroom was bright and modern looking and they had a hair dryer which is important to me. The lobby was nicely decorated for Christmas and I loved the butterfly decorated tree. It is valet parking only at the site. It is super close to the Irvine spectrum which is an outdoor mall and they have lots of restaurants. Also close to Laguna Beach if you are there for a longer stay and want to visit. read more

Here are pros/cons. Room 5 stars-clean, cool, comfortable and quiet Starbucks-3.5 stars- Good service, but out of lots of things by 8am. Good on drinks and breakfast sandwiches, but out of breads (only had lemon loaf) Pool" 4.5 stars...they asked us at 450pm if we were leaving. I didn't understand why we were getting asked to go. We had planned to leave at 5 any how...so asked pool attendant today why they were asking us to leave and he said the pool closes at 5pm. This was unexpected because we were invited back to a pool movie at 8pm to see Monsters Inc. The flyer we got at check said the pool is open 6am to 10pm. Employee was nice, but didn't explain so we were like... 'huh?' I'm a gold member and an owner. We live local. I was using rewards points and we chose to have our staycation here for the pool.... Front desk-great. I called several times to get the movie title. They sent out the movie flier via email a few days before. We wanted to know if it was a movie title my little guy would like so we could plan elsewhere if not good for him...couldn't get the title until a person asked another person who asked another person. But movie was so great. They cracked out a box of tiny toys at check in.....which made my lil guy's day. Tiny beach ball, diving toy, really great tiny toys Also we were able to check in early! We happy bout that! I'm going to chalk all this odd stuff up to a really busy weekend, and lil inexperience with young (maybe new) employees. Would like to give a compliment to pool attendant Jay. Polite, friendly, respectful....asked if we would like our umbrella opened..passed out Popsicles to the kids or anyone. Other guests staying were also polite. I would say for constructive critism...please fix the lounge chairs at the pool. Lots were broken, and figure out how to drain the huge standing water puddles that are kind of gross. They were deep and my leather sandals were soaked....they hand out Popsicles but kids leave the wrappers all over...you know kids! Maybe just have the attendants sitting at the gate on their cell phones make a quick trip 15 mins after Popsicles are given out. I mean when I first walked in. The place looked great. I was wondering why reviews were sooo poor. But then I got into the room and things looked okie. The beds looked like they were slept on. I didn't have time to overthink with kids. So I avoided that thought. Then the couch in the room was torn. I laughed and said I've seen better Vegas rooms. And queen beds ? These beds are horrible. If I'm on the edge of the bed I dip down. Like as if they have a full bed frame and tossed a queen mattress on it. My back is in horrible pain cause of this bed. At Hive & Honey, Kurt was so courteous and gracious and did us right with a mistake on our order. At check in, Zeyad really took care of us and without hesitation fixed something on our reservation and made it right. From the moment we arrived, it has been a frustrating experience, unlike the positive experiences we have had at Marriot properties all over the state and US, for that matter. Our room was supposed to be ready at 4pm. It was not ready until 5pm. They offered to give us a late check out to make up for it until 2pm. But, at 12 pm on the day of checkout someone started pounding on our door. Before we could answer (maybe 5 seconds) a male employee opened it. He said our check out was 11am! When I called the front desk, the staff member said there was no record of a late check out and she wanted to nitpick and said "Your room was ready at 4:52." Lol. When I mentioned, politely, that this had been a frustrating experience all she said was "I see." At no time, was any apology made. Also, we booked a corner room with a kitchen, but the kitchen had exactly two spoons and two forks and no cutting board anywhere. We couldn't even slice up some strawberries for our child. The pool was completely crowded due to a baseball or little league type convention, not the hotel's fault, but what was concerning is there was no staff visible enforcing any basic rules for the enjoyment of all guests. A number of the kids were eating and carrying their food inside the pool with one, dropping food like french fries in the water while floating. Gross. . Another group of small boys were playing baseball with an actual base ball in the water so if anyone missed the catch, other children swimming would have a concussion or WORSE for sure. I chose this hotel for a short little staycation this past weekend, and had quite an enjoyable time. The hotel felt modern and upscale, which I really liked. We were fortunate to be upgraded to a beautiful residential corner room kitchen suite that let in lots of natural light and boasted quite the view of the city, which is one of the perks of traveling with my husband who is a lifetime titanium elite. They also have a wonderful roof top bar area with amazing views. (See photos) There is a good sized pool with lots of shaded areas, a club lounge for their club members, a gym, a restaurant, and a bar with the nicest bartender that we chatted about our travels with. (He had just returned from a week-long vacation for his sister's wedding.) He served us a few specialty cocktails that were pretty tasty. We told him that we will be back, and we will! read more

Recently had staycation here to hang with some friends who came up to visit. The hotel was nice and had good amenities - loved the shaded areas by the pool and the M Lounge was nice. The expresso was great - and open 24 hrs ... breakfast options were much better than other marriotts and again complimentary given we made M Lounge status. That's a nice perk. We didn't make it up to see the rooftop area, wish we had. We booked two adjoining rooms and found the king residential suite + double queen was great for our family of five! Nice kitchen with seating, a couch, and then two bathrooms worked out perfectly. Would be pleasant accommodations for a longer stay. There was a cute outdoor game area. The only issue was they only offer valet which I find absurd for the area. It's not a busy downtown or something. Tip - just park across the street in the commercial lot. Save $42 and the time it takes to constantly get your car in/out of valet. Con - One of the folded washcloths which was supposed to be brand new actually had makeup and mascara all over it when we unfolded it - gross. We called and had new towels brought up. There were old coffee spots on the counter of the kitchen. A hair was on one of the toilets and a long hair on the shower floor. Gross. Would expect higher cleaning standards. We bring wipes always and wiped it down but should have been clean. I appreciate the early check in and late check out though. Nice stay overall. read more
