Pool was nice- get there earlier if you want a spot, you can bring in your own food and drinks (water, alcohol, sodas) the restaurant bar had amazing food, great house keeping, clean rooms and great service!! Only thing I would change is the parking fee- it's valet only and it's $39 a night. Every time we go we can never get up to Hive & Honey which is very unfortunate- we were on a waitlist for 9 hours and nothing, people that walk-in with rolls royces have first priority; I know it... I should start by mentioning I live just a few miles from here and my visits were either as a staycation or visiting family that stayed here. Regardless of the reason, this is one of my top 10 favorite hotels in the US. Why? Great staff, clean and well designed lobby. Starbucks onsite, great views and let's not forget the epic rooftop bar. The only challenges I've noticed are valet parking which I'm personally not a fan of, and minimal EV charging stalls in the highest density EV location in the country. They do appear to also have some issues with understaffing but everywhere has this problem right now. The rooms are well laid out, and some have epic corner views. I love the bathrooms and if you do get a suite enjoy the view day and night as much as you can! (Note: bring an eye mask though, because the light peaks through) Overall I love this hotel, and will definitely continue to refer friends, family and colleagues to stay here-- and I'll personally continue to pop in for staycations as often as I can! read more

Rough. Upon check in I was asked if I'd like to stay in a room with two queens. I had initially requested a king (since it's just me), and I was assigned a room. What I wasn't told is that it was a handicap room. I felt like this was unethical, what if someone needed a handicap accessible room? Also, I didn't need a bath tub with a seat or a massive toilet. It was ok, just very odd for me. I also had to ring the front desk to have my sheets changed as I noticed a LOT of hairs on them before I even got into the bed. Absolutely gross. Room service came and changed the seats, but the bathroom had hairs scattered on the floor, sink, and tub. $300/night? For that? The walls are incredibly thin. I heard every door open and close on my floor, and my neighbors alarm going off every 15 mins from 5:30am to 6am. WiFi isn't included in the exorbitant price unless you sign up for their rewards program. Surprise, I signed up. Another surprise, I was still charged $30 for two days of internet along with other unexpected charges that I had to call and dilute at 6:30am my morning of check out. Overall, if you didn't tell me what hotel I was staying at or what price it was, I'd think it was the holiday inn. This was unacceptable at the price point of this Marriott. I've attached pictures of a hair in the bathroom, but I think it's the inconvenient charges and the wrong room assignment that took the cake. read more

This location was simple, had minimal issues with room service, and overall an enjoyable experience. The beds were incredibly comfy along with the usual soft pillows. Clean rooms and nice staff. Mandatory valet took me by surprise but the location was great

Lots of bad things, lots of good things. The bad: The toilet needed to be looked at - there was a moment when we flushed and the valve kept running, as though the flapper needed adjustment. I took the back off, but this is not a typical toilet and all I could do was rattle the mechanism that runs through the center of it to try to get the flapper to fall back into place. Thankfully it did. The pillows were, quite honestly, the worst hotel pillows I have ever slept on in my entire life. Hotel pillows are always mediocre at best, but these took the proverbial cake. After two rough nights, we ended up borrowing pillows from a local friend just so we could sleep better. $39 per day parking fee is a bit high. Plus no free internet. I am with Bonvoy so I got it for free, but the fact that you don't have it free for everyone is pretty cheap. We opted to go green and not have housekeeping, but I asked them to come empty our trash, which had become quite full, and they never did. In the middle of the night the first night the sheet snapped off the corner and bunched up under me. I pulled it as hard as I possibly could to fit it back on the corner but couldn't get it to fit under the mattress. Are they not the right size? The good: Gorgeous view of the mountains to the east! GREAT staff overall, especially the very friendly valets and front desk folks. Hair dryer was like a cyclone. Nice size refrigerator. AMAZING gym and pool. One of the best I've been to. The bed itself was very firm and comfortable. Beautiful decor in the lobby, bars, and rooms themselves. Everything automated: Alexa in every room, personalized TV experience with Netflix available, elevators where you press your floor on a touch screen and they just whisk you away, texting to tell them to prepare our car for pickup downstairs, easy electronic thermostat. Conclusion: 3.5 stars. It felt perfect at first, but there are quite a few flaws that showed themselves over the course of 3 days. I would stay here again, but with lowered expectations. And with a memory foam pillow in hand. read more

It was an okay experience for me. Valet parking is $39 which is quite expensive and the attendant wasn't always there. They gave me a ticket with the # to text but I kept getting error messages. But there's always the option to call front desk and they will coordinate with valet to get your car out. I requested a room with a bathtub but got put in a handicap room instead. I was looking forward to sit back and relax in the tub but the tub was too small for me. At night, I could hear the floor above me and it sounded like water constantly being running and turning off nonstop. I could hear doors being slammed a few rooms down the hallway, so the whole time I stayed there I didn't get a good night sleep. Great view though and Hive and Honey bar is just right above. I'm just annoyed at how I'd have to go from my floor (9th) all the way to first floor then have to get in line with the rest of people, even none hotel guests to get to the rooftop bar. What happened to this place? It used to be so clean and well run. We've stayed here 10 times but probably won't again. We come here for the beautiful rooftop restaurant but was told after we checked in that it's closed on Sundays and Mondays. They should at least keep the bar open. They said our room wasn't ready and to check back at 4:30pm... wtf? Starbucks closes early so don't expect to grab a coffee at check in. The pool area was filthy all three days. No one picks up dirty towels and cups. The pool chaise lounges were broken. The water station at the pool was empty and dirty. The towels were stained and faded. The large umbrella was broken. The downstairs bar has an extremely limited selection of beers and a ton of dirty empty cups strewn about the area. One of the two large tv screens wasn't working and kept flashing "direct tv" . The cupboards behind the check in counter were broken and clutter all over the top of the counter. Who is the general manager? Is his or her only experience from managing Super 8 or Motel 6?? Having driven by this hotel several times, we decided to do a one night stay. The checkin process was exceptional at the front desk (agent friendly & courteous). The room was inviting and relaxing. However, we were disappointed with the M lounge. We are platinum elite members are stayed at Marriott hotels with M lounges. This lounge was small but way understaffed and not well maintained. Guests were inconsiderate by not picking up themselves (I.e. used plates & drinks left on tables for next guests). Next guest had to remove and clean table. Also staff did not resupply water bottles when cooler became empty. Not what I expected from the Marriott brand. read more

Loved staying here! I adored the style of the rooms, the fixtures, that square toilet, bathrooms, etc. Beautifully landscaped, loved the starbucks in the morning. Great service, too. I had a couple of minor bumps in the room - once I closed the blinds I couldn't reopen them in the morning, it was pretty tight. The top buttons on the toilet got stuck and wouldn't 'pop back up'. I was definitely thrown off with my recent stay at the Marriott Irvine Spectrum. For me to walk in to my room in South Orange County, at a Marriott, I was not expecting to feel as if I walked into a room that had not been cleaned yet. Service at the Farmhouse Heirloom Grill was almost non existent and the cleanliness needs vast improvement. Will I return, probably not, although they took steps to rectify the issues with my business stuff (reservations at the restaurant) they never did anything to correct my room situation. FYI - reserving the Chefs Dining Room /Table does not get you a chefs dining experience, it just gets you the table. read more

Worst customer service... valet guys were rude, the short, bald, light skinned, and rotund security guard at the rooftop bar has some serious anger issues and should probably see a therapist. Ok, reviewing a hotel I didn't actually stay in but went in and out of more than forty rooms on the first three floors means I'm: A. A Pimp B. A Gigolo C. Indecisive Shopper D. Attendee at an Audio Show Can you guess? Ok, it's a combination of C and D. What was supposed to be (and once was) one of the premier audiophile shows, T.H.E. Show at Newport turned into a vastly scaled back effort, albeit a decent if underattended one. The main floor served as a convention center-like atmosphere for record vendors and small start-ups hoping to close some deals with major players in the industry and gain the attention of Stereophile and Acoustic Sounds personnel for honorable mention in an upcoming issue. As far as ammentities went, the open doored bar and restaurant was classy and chic, modern spins on concrete and glass, with more T.V. panels than any other place I've been to lately! Food was decent as was the wine selection. It was much to hot to sit without some type of shade that day but after an initially slow start, service improved (i.e. the wine arrived). Burgers were cooked perfectly, and I appreciated the modern themes on the menu, including farm fresh produce and locally sourced bread, rolls and so on. The rooms themselves have many different floor plans. What happens at these audio shows is the vendor tries to make their room sound as good as possible with room for visitors to sit and listen to whatever they're playing to demonstrate speakers, streamers, amplifiers at al. I came to appreciate their efforts after seeing how different nearly forty rooms could be. Not sure I have any reason to stay here, but I loved the elevators! The hotel is within walking distance of the Irvine Spectrum, so consider that a huge plus. The grounds are well tended and valet service is alert and friendly. read more

Stayed here for my partner's orientation for school. We got a high floor room wc had great views but we could somewhat hear the bar at the rooftop wc was somewhat distracting until 10pm. The room features were nice w automatic retractable blinds, kitchen suite, couch and desk where she could do some studying. It's a perk to have Starbucks downstairs but it has limited hours. Appreciate the pedestrian friendly parameter to walk our pet. There's also a shopping plaza nearby w restaurants and there's also an Asian curated plaza driving distance that has BCD Tofu among other places. The staff is pretty friendly and accommodating. I stayed at this hotel as an employee and I will say it was a pleasant experience! The location is lovely. Very close to the shopping center and tons of other entertainment! The valet was extremely kind! The front desk was helpful. I will say the rooms are lovely! I was on the top floor with a gorgeous view! I love the bathroom and beds. The rooms are very spacious and modern. I love how there's a Starbucks in the lobby. This might not be a huge dealbreaker for most but compared to other hotels, the hair dryer is way better at this hotel than others I've stayed at. The one downside is that they don't offer a microwave not even in the lobby. Also if you're on the top floor you can hear the music at night coming from the rooftop bar so if that's going to bother you, make sure to request a lower level floor. Other than that, I enjoyed my time here. Will definitely book again! read more

I stay in Marriott hotels all the time and all over. I am a titanium elite member and in all of my travels I have never had to wait more than 10-15 minutes for a feather free room. I am at 90 minutes and still waiting with no end in sight. Meanwhile other guests have been getting rooms without any problem. read more

I had a business trip in Irvine and I booked Marriott Irvine spectrum, thinking it was a good idea. The trip was great until my check out. Due to the long hours of work I forgot brand new T-shirts in my hotel room. When I came home to unpack, I realized I left my T-shirts in the room. when I called the front desk to ask about lost and found, they told me the housekeepers did not turn anything in. I don't recommend this place because the housekeepers are thieves. If you want an honest place to rest your head I do not recommend this place. If they are willing to steal brand new t-shirts they will steal your valuables. read more

Been staying there at least 3-4 nights a month all year. I go there because I like to get up quite early and go to M club - drink coffee, work and eat a bit. It's usually included on my reservation but on the few occasions that it wasn't, I paid for it until tonight. When I checked in, I had no M club and they wouldn't allow me to pay. Room manager said that the policy changed recently. So I unilaterally changed my firm's policy tonight as CEO, stays at this hotel are no longer allowed by anyone in our firm. So this is my last night there ever. To make matters worse, I just went to the in-house Starbucks for coffee; they ran out at 7:30 am and said they would not have any more coffee anytime soon. Bar service also super slow. I will keep giving it a try because of the nice venue.....but we pay for the service....come on! I really liked the Marriott location. The rooms are really nice, organized and, clean. The staff is exceptional in helping you out. It's location is perfectly located right down the street from the Irvine Spectrum. Having a Starbucks located in the lobby is a nice touch for the coffee drinkers too. Something that had really stood out was the rooftop bar. I only went up there once and it's the only reason I am giving a four star review. I feel that as a person staying at the hotel that you should have access to the rooftop bar. It doesn't work that way. You have to wait in line just like anybody else. I didn't like that. But, it was a good place to stay and I would again next time I am in Irvine. read more

I am writing this review in response to my experience on May 27, 2023. I booked the executive corner suite for my wedding day for a little over $500. It was a very stressful and busy morning as you can imagine. We ended up running a little behind schedule and only needed an additional hour to finish up and leave the room. I understand that this is not ideal; however, we were hoping Marriott would be more understanding of our situation given that it was my wedding day. Rather, we were notified that Marriott would charge us an additional $350 for an extra hour, a 70% surcharge. For an extra hour, they are almost doubling the expenses. This is absolutely unacceptable and nothing short of greed. I am happy to pay a reasonable fee for the additional hour, but Marriott has chosen to take advantage of its guests. I would not recommend this hotel under any circumstance and am genuinely disappointed in how the situation was handled. read more

I enjoyed my stay here. It is big, clean, modern with an excellent gym which has 2 levels. Checkin was very efficient and fast. Rooms are on the smallish side but have been renovated are realy nice. Nice views of the hills if you ignore and look past the freeway. One nit - there is a design flaw in the room. The table does not have accessible power outlets to plug the laptop into. read more

We did not even get to enjoy the view because when we arrived we saw how dirty the area was and it was 3"early and ended up leaving . The floor was filthy and the cushions all stained. 1 star because that is as low as Yelp will allow me to go. We had a team meeting here using one of the conference rooms. I don't know where to begin, however you would think when spending in excess of 5k just for the space and time itself, you would get better treatment. Everything was a lackluster experience down to the food provided. We had 25 individuals in attendance and they charged us $48 per "boxed lunches" for the team. These consisted of sloppy sandwiches with stale bread, un-ripe fruit, a small cup of foul potato salad and a bag of chips. The chips were the best thing. And $90 per gallon of bitter, burnt coffee... They unreasonable wanted to charge for EVERYTHING..... even to make up for the poor lunch with with undercooked flatbread pizzas for $60. We also provided our own projector screen because there was a $100 fee just to project on theirs in the room. The restrooms were dirty and unkept. The staff was not very helpful at all. They had snobby attitudes towards us. We had also initially arranged to have a short cocktail hour at the conclusion of the meeting in the hotel bar to which when booking the hotel initially, they said they would be able to accommodate us........ Well things apparently changed. Although a larger facility they pulled a total bait and switch on us.... so incredibly disappointing. They at first said there was no way they could make that "happen" for a group our side, but then quickly decided they were willing to accommodate us for 45 min if we agreed to a $1,500 minimum. SERIOUSLY? The host and hostess at the bar were incredibly rude, rolling their eyes at our request and left it at a "take it or leave it" situation. We of course decided to take our business elsewhere. Lastly, when picking up my car from the valet, (which had been freshly detailed) it was clear they had parked it with little concern as it was covered in leaves, multiple spots with bird droppings and to top it off, it smelled like a 13 year old boy had unleashed with a can of cheap axe body spray inside and my radio station was tuned to Spanish music channel with the volume maxed out. Was this supposed to be a joke? Highly disappointed with this facility........ STAY AWAY!!! At the end of the day there has been well over 5k, the treatment would be better. I really hope they get things into shape here because it is such a shame they are a representation of the Marriott name. read more

I went to this location on Cinco de Mayo (May 5). They have a rooftop restaurant and lounge. The restaurant is why I am making this review. I invited 2 friends to meet there for dinner and casual get together. We all pretty much we're dressed the same. I was wearing khaki shorts and a hoody. They had jeans n hoody and we all were wearing hats. Just relaxing! As the night wore on and it got to dinner time we were approached by a host, name unknown. She told me we had to move. Her reason was they may get a reservation and they would need our seating area. I counted 5 other areas with tables that were empty. I asked her about those areas and she said we couldn't sit there because if they get busy they need those areas as well. I asked her if that means we might as well leave since we can't sit at those tables and her response was; "yeah!". Since we didn't want to engage in any further discussion with her left. We walked to the host station and asked for a manager. I briefly spoke with Melanie Zizik, who was very pleasant. Melanie was in complete shock and stated she's been having problems with that host. We went down to exit the hotel and I asked for the restaurant manager. They summons the manager and it turned out to be Melanie. She apologized and offered us seating downstairs but at that point we were leaving. She did get me the card to the General Manager, Che Sutton. I reached out to him at least 3 times and he was emailed twice by Marriott employees, no response!! His phone is connected to a voicemail recording that doesn't accept messages. Long story I know!!
