My hairdresser is out of commission due to a medial condition I have a company photo on Tuesday and my hair looked awful. I went to Del Taylor on the recommendation of my boss and - WOW - he did such a good job ! Ten out of Ten !!! I love my hair lady and hope she is back soon but I might have to stick with Del Taylor for the color. It is perfect and makes me look much younger !!!! Horrible waste of $400. I asked for a money piece and was given a whole head piece. It was not the color I wanted, and an extra added color "shadow" or something was added to blend but really just looks ridiculous as it is not the color of my roots and just off. I asked for a refund or if it could be looked at by another stylist. No refund but the owner "fixed" it. Which was the really only adding extra color into it further damaging my hair and it ultimately is NOT what I asked for and looks ridiculous and washed out. So if you're hoping to find a stylist that is able to understand what you're asking for, and then bring that to reality checking to make sure the color is suitable for you, look elsewhere. I meant to update my review but it got deleted. I got my hair done for a second time by D*lw*n(to respect privacy). Once again, I am happy with my foil highlights which appear natural and with my haircut as well. Next visit, I will try to get a keratin treatment since I have read from other reviewers that it does wonders for the condition of one's hair. read more

I've seen Delwin twice for my cuts and he has also colored my hair. I love what he has done with my hair. My color looks great and is just what I wanted. My last cut was about 3 weeks ago and I told him I was going to risk it for the biscuit and cut my normally straight and long hair shorter and try bangs. I left the salon so happy. I can't fully explain how amazing my hair turned out. I waited to write this review to see if my mind would change and I can honestly say that everyday since when I look at my hair I'm so happy. He nailed it! I don't even have to do much of anything to make it look fabulous. I don't style it I just air dry and brush it. It also looks great if I just use my fingers instead of a brush. I'm glad that I decided to take a chance on something different and I'm so thankful to Delwin for making this happen. I have to say I wasn't a great client since when I went in I didn't really know what I wanted but I knew I wanted a change. He asked me some questions and preformed his magic and here we are. The convenience of having a salon in the mall is great. But there's a chance of paying a higher price for services and products. I have not used any hair services from this salon, however I shop their hair product. This salon is clean, but sometimes I find the staff to be not friendly. I went in to make a purchase on a Paul Mitchel clean beauty shampoo today a liter size. There is no price on it because I think they made up their market up the price. If you go on line to Paul Mitchell or even Amazon, the price on this particular liter shampoo is $50.50. Marsha's charged me 64.00, and I didn't realized the total until the girl told me I owed her $67. And some cents. I'm shocked that a salon can mark up a shampoo so much when we are all struggling to make a living. If I didn't need this shampoo right away, I would have walked and ordered on line. And spending 67. On this shampoo they couldn't even provide me a pump. read more

I just switched over to a new stylist for convenience of having a salon closer to home. Parking is also a huge factor as that was the main reason why I left my other hairstylist for many years now. It is always nerve wrecking to have someone new to do your hair especially for me as I don't know what I want. I was introduced to Monique who cut my hair exactly to how I wanted it (something simple and easy maintenance). Then I came back a few months later to get highlights to cover up the grey/white hairs. Again I am so happy on how it turned out! The staffs are friendly and Monique is wonderful. Her weekend schedule is also what I love most about the switch. read more

Would not recommend if you have curly hair. I stopped by in the morning to see if they had availability for a blowout. I specifically said I wanted a blowout and the girls at the front desk said they had a 6pm opening. I have thick curly hair, and when I came at 6pm the stylist they assigned me to asked me if I was going to an event. When I said no, she pushed me really hard to do a wash and blow dry instead of a full blowout. Turns out it was because the salon closes at 7 (I thought it was 8) and she wouldn't have been able to finish my hair in time... I feel like I shouldn't have been booked that late if that was the case, especially since I physically came in and the front desk girls saw me themselves at the time of booking. I ended up agreeing to the blow dry but to be quite honest it was probably the worst blow dry I've ever gotten. I've never had a blow dry that took less than 45 mins like this. And I left with my hair being huge, very stiff, and over saturated with oil. I was quite upset. I would've been okay with the lack of flat ironing if the blow drying was done properly but it was not. The hair stylist was nice but I think she was just out of her depth, which is sad in my opinion. Personally? I think all hairstylists should be able to do curly hair especially in Hawaii.. and I've gotten many blowouts in my life most of which take an hour, tops (my hair is short). This salon is close to my house and I wish I could have had regular appointments since I blow my hair out at least 2x a month. read more

$100 Haircut results I had my haircut yesterday at Marsha nadalin in Kahala mall. When I got home I was horrified by the results. Absolute butcher job. I've never had a worse haircut. To my surprise, I received the most awful treatment from this salon. The hair cut was horrible. Well, since it was the first time this stylist did my hair, I scheduled a follow up appointment with her to make adjustments. After I arrived for this appointment, the rude and inconsiderate receptionist told me that the stylist did not feel comfortable doing my hair and on one will help me. How unprofessional and inconsiderate. The stylist knew that I am elder with mobility issues. It's hard for me to get around. She could have called me ahead of time so I did not travel all the way there for nothing. Or, the salon could have had another stylist make the adjustments. I was treated with the utmost disrespect. I hope the owner of this salon will train the rude receptionist to treat people with respect, most notably elders. The other receptionist was very nice. so I hope they coach the correct person. Hopefully, no one else will be treated in such an inconsiderate manner. read more

The manager on duty at 1:50 pm on 9/30 needs to be fired. She had me waiting in reception for 20 minutes because she never told my stylist I was waiting in reception even though my stylist was ready to take me. The salon was clean. The music was nice and relaxing. Hospitality was great, as a walk in customer wasn't sure if anyone was available for just a trim and style, thankfully the receptionist checked and she found an opening on the schedule!!! My hair stylist was Sam and she was really nice and she had an availability for me in between her other appointments, she made me feel welcomed, asked me exactly what I wanted to do to my hair and explained everything. I definitely will be coming back for color, as a Mom who can't get a babysitter on short notice and treat myself I really enjoyed every moment of the shampoo and sitting in the chair without any distractions or someone tugging on me. Deceptive practice I bought something that has a mark price, but when the cashier ranged it up, the price was actually 33% higher (see attached). The explanation given verbally was that the item went up in price, but at the time that item was originally priced, it had already included a profit. I occasionally go to Marsha Nadalin for a bang trim and they've always been $10, which seems reasonable for a bang trim. However, the other day I went in and was charged $25!!!! I was shocked. I'll never go back there. I'm not sure why they had to raise this price to this ridiculous level, but if they raise their other prices like this, too, I think people will just stop going. People even like to exercise here in the morning. The mall is also dog-friendly including all the stores as well! I had read a good review for Judy prior to calling. Whenever you try a new place, you walk in hoping the experience will be positive and everything will turn out good. Judy was warm, friendly and inviting. Before she did anything, she talked with me and took the time to understand my situation and what I wanted to do. Located at Kahala Mall near Taco Bell and Panda Express. Free parking. Larger than your average full service spa and salon. I originally called to book with Claire but she was not available. I don't remember the name of the lady that did my under arm wax treatment. Unfortunately it was a bad experience. I have had waxing of various sorts done for many years. She made a few amateur mistakes and maybe she was having an off day. I had to was 15 minutes, which sometimes happens. The wax was a good temperature but she used the paper strip to pull it off then used the same strip to press over and over on the same spots removing my skin. The left side was the first side she treated. Then the tweezing started. She had. A hard time seeing, she professed as she repeatedly pinched my skin. Thank God the right arm didn't get it as bad as I think she just gave up on the little left over hairs. Wax 101 people- don't go over the same area repeatedly, grow out your hair for three weeks minimum if you don't want little short strays, don't tweezer people if you can't see. I've been here many times before pandemic. Unfortunately this was my first time back and this happened. I had an important dinner to attend to and my under arms were raw and on fire all night. I will return to the salon. I've booked with Claire. I will never get treated by another again. People know your skill and know your limits. Hopefully she has better days. read more

So on a whim, I decided to call Marsha Nadalin's, I figured if they can't take me, at least I could get a boba. Long story short, they were able to take me this afternoon, had a great experienced with a friendly not over talky stylist (who I shall keep secret so she doesn't get booked up lol), left with a great, cut and color! Use to go to the salon all the time prior COVID but it is no longer a place where I feel my hair is in the best hands. The first time I scheduled an appointment to cut my hair, my stylist told me she didn't know how to cut layers so I had to re-schedule. When I came back my stylist cut all my length off when I told her I wanted to keep my length but trim only the dead ends and to do a light layering to frame my face. When she originally showed me how much she was cutting off I was okay with it but she cut WAY MORE than originally agreed on. The worst part is I asked for no layering to the back of my head because it doesn't work for me and to lightly frame my face in the front and she did exactly what I asked her NOT TO DO! Now I have a stupid little piece of a rat tail when I put my hair in a ponytail because she chopped up my hair so much. My hair was down my whole back and now it's up to my shoulders. I cried for 2 days and although the tears have stopped, I still hate my hair. read more

Issues with Extensions I came to Marsha for 22 inch long hair extensions this week. She was kind in explaining the process, pros/cons and how bead extensions may be the best fit for me. Long story short they ended up causing me more issues than I ever expected. After 3 hours of installing them my head felt bruised, the color wasn't correct, my real hair was clearly sticking out and the beads were on too tight to my scalp. I even had to take major pain medicine to sleep. In the process of getting the extensions Marsha majorly thinned out my hair and added even more layers. Since this didn't work, I now have even thinner hair than I started off with and it won't make it to a ponytail because of how short it is. I would keep this in mind when selecting this salon for extensions, as it shouldn't be this way. I was very sad to have to get them taken out since I was already wanting more hair and Marsha had to cut some out at the root to get the beads out. It was tough to end up in a worse place than I started. I'm not sure why this all happened so poorly. I will say that I am impressed with how the salon handled it. Marsha made room for me the next day and got them all out. She did have to cut some of my real hair at the scalp since how tight the beads were. She stayed positive the entire time even when I was clearly upset. I was so worried about the length of my hair that had been cut to blend into the extensions so she blew my hair out and offered to help with it in anyway she could. Without me asking, she refunded the cost of the extensions. I wouldn't go back for extensions specifically but they have a great moral compass. It was nice to not have to stress about arguing over the cost. Regardless, I am upset with how my hair looks and wish I hadn't chosen the salon for extensions. read more
