My friend, Irene, gave me a gift card for my birthday a few months ago. I decided to get one for her, too... so that we could go together! I paid cash to avoid credit card fees. When we redeemed our gift cards, tax was included! We tipped with cash after we were done. We both walked in, after parking in the front. There's a small, free parking lot. It's located across from the Convention Center. The same woman at the front desk was polite, efficient, and friendly! We used the restroom first, and got seated next to each other in the dimly lit communal room. The combo deal (body and foot massage) started with a warm water foot soak while our upper bodies were massaged. Later, we laid face down on the padded table, then turned over and got a scalp massage. My therapist was very strong. I felt like my back was bruised... haha! When my legs were hurting, I was able to move my leg away from the pressure. It wasn't easy to move away from the back massage. I guess I could have yelled out, but I thought that my back was probably tight and needed loosening up? Well... it was an educational experience. It's not really a relaxing type of massage, but I think I did nod off a little... here and there...

However, on my recent visit I had to change the masseuse 3 times due to poor skill level and finally gave up after the 3rd person was terrible as well. The owner didn't seem to care that the staff including the primary instructor turnover was so high, and as a result no remaining employees were sufficiently skilled. When asking the owner for good masseuse recommendations over the years, her answer is always "everyone here is good". The truth is only 1 or 2 workers are worth visiting at any given time Additionally, the owner's husband is usually grumpy and rude, so there was little reason to continue giving this place more chances. He often points at customers when checking out and says "hey you need to add tip!" despite customers not even having completed checkout. Yes, he even says it to me after 10 years, knowing I typically tip 35% or more.

It was quaint, relaxing, and decorated very posh. I quietly waited on the plush comfy sitting area while Brandon was finishing up with a Client. After he was done he gave me his full attention. He joined me in the sitting area to get to know me and assess why I was seeking treatment. I really appreciated the time he took to explain his history, background and how he helps heal many people. This really helped to make me feel calm and comfortable. James gives his instructions and leaves the room for preparation. I get massaged twice a month for this pinch nerve in my upper left back that I have had for 3 months now. I have been mixing deep tissue, lomi lomi, Thai. This has helped in maintaining it from getting worse but seems to come back after a few weeks. My sister recommended cupping with James. I am so happy that I listened to her and came in for treatment. James starts with some pressure point massage then into the cupping. Wow! What a different feeling, massage is pushing down and this is pulling up. It feels like blood is able to flow in places that it needs to go for optimum healing. He left them on for 8 minutes. James, the acupuncturist, was friendly and knew what he was doing. He was able to tell me what was going on with my body just by looking at my tongue and listening to my pulse from my wrist (something that true Eastern medicine practitioners do). He wanted to combine cupping (using "cups" and fire to release negative energy and such from the body) and accupuncture however I have really sensitive skin and did not want to have the red marks all over my back especially since I was going out that weekend, so we did the needles in my target areas - I had a pinched nerve in my neck area and some other areas to help relieve other things. Afterwards I felt really relaxed and my pinched nerve was no longer there and I was really glad that I took care of it before it got really bad and that James knew what he was doing and targeted the right areas.
