This is located on the 3rd floor of the Ala Moana hotel. Made reservation for a Korean Contouring facial. My appointment was with Kaitlyn. She was a couple of minutes late in calling me in and my facial finished 2 minutes early. Kaitlynn was very good at what she does. Massage pressure was perfect and very good. However, we kept getting interrupted by someone outside. When it came to the part where she was putting the clay mask on me, she left for a good 10-15 minutes. When she came back, she started massaging one of my arm/hand and a customer walks in and disturbed us again. So, although Kaitlyn was very good at what she does, the experience wasn't very good as I felt like I did not get my full hour of uninterrupted facial. read more

We were celebrating a birthday and went to Dada for a facial, a massage, and lunch. It is very easy to navigate their website and schedule an appointment. The system also sends you reminder text messages before your appointment. Upon entry, we were warmly greeted and checked in. There's seating available near the hair salon area as we waited for our specialists. Once escorted into the room, the lights are dimmed and calming music invites you to relax. The massage table is already warm and the specialist asks your pressure preference. I picked the 60 minute relaxation massage. I don't remember her name but she was very good and I enjoyed my massage. From what I recall (because I fell asleep), she massaged with oil in quadrants. Starting with my left foot and worked up my leg, then she followed with my right foot and up that leg. A few minutes later she worked on my left hand and worked up my arm, followed by the right hand and arm. My favorite was her massaging my neck and shoulders, that was much needed! When my 60 minutes ended, she gently awakened me and provided a warm towel to wipe off the massage oil before redressing. She then met me in the waiting area and provided me with a cup of warm water. After a relaxing facial and massage, we went to the Cafe for lunch. They have a nice variety of food options and even serve wine by the bottle. Parking validation is $10 in the Ala Moana hotel. I was in desperate need of a haircut after not having one for TWO YEARS! Today was the day and I didn't have an appointment so I called everywhere and no one could fit me in the time frame I needed until I called Dada. They were also booked except they had an assistant who was available and was able to fit me in. Shelby Johansen was amazing! They do root touchups as well I know that in a few months I do have that option that will keep thing a bit price friendly for upkeep. I didn't want to make this review because my stylist was so nice The services I got was women's haircut, toner, and headspa. Haircut: I left not getting exactly what I wanted. But it was close enough Headspa: This treatment was worth it! My hair was soft and so relaxing Toner: We had the same understanding that I was aiming for a light brown ashy (like a mushroomy color) after washing my hair I was afraid it looked too dark. She told me not to worry and that when she blow dry it the color would show. Unfortunately it didn't. My hair looks uncolored now like as if I covered up all my highlights hair. I didn't expect to pay more than I expected to cover up highlights that I paid so much money for. Overall: My stylist was so nice, I loved speaking with her and enjoyed my time at the salon. My experience with my hair isn't great unfortunately. Leaving the salon I was thinking "it's okay I'll just learn to love it" but my hair just looks way too plain now. I miss my highlights. Another side note, is that I hope I was told what the cost of my toner was going to be. When booking it says starting $65. And during my appointment I was never told that it would cost X amount for this style and etc. I ended up paying $123 for toner which would have been fine (if I was told ahead of it) but with the result of it... I was unsatisfied. Am I able to get some help? How can I remove some of this toner so I can see my colors again read more

I loved both Korean Contour Facial experiences with Mila! She is super sweet, not pushy, and she has VERY strong hands for such a petite person (which means excellent massages for the head, shoulders, back, arms). She suggested a chemical peel for my hyperpigmentation/sun damage after my first facial. I told her abt the first time I had a peel and my sensitized skin reacted like I had a sunburn for a day right after, and she assured me hers is gentle. I was vain enough to give it a go. Holy cow it burned so much (which she warned me beforehand) but she had a little electric fan to help cool the burn. She also gave me some sheet masks to help with the healing and suggested sunscreen. The good news is I didn't look like a lobster the next day! I was aggressive with the sunscreen and moisturizing in the days after. It's been a week, most of my old skin has shed, and new skin feels soft and smooth. Idk if I'd brave the peel again though haha but i'd definitely return for more Korean Contour Facials! Appointments were easy to book online. Checking in and out was always quick and easy. I've been seeing Vee (@vielkishair) for a bit and she is amazing! She is very welcoming and always makes my hair experience wonderful! The space in Dada salon is super clean, nice, and tidy. They have free water for guests and you can also order food while you are getting your hair done! I'm not 100% sure if they take walk-ins, but I highly recommend booking with a stylist! Overall, Dada Salon provides an amazing space for stylists and I highly recommend you get your hair cut, colored, or styled by Vee! I had one of the best hair sessions in years with Phree at Dada salon. I highly recommend booking with her! Phree is a humble warrior behind the chair. She slays with color, technique and scissors. She has a calm and collected vibe, she really knows what she's doing but she's not like other stylists who brag about their skill or talk trash about others work. She's a beautiful, kind soul and I'm so glad I connected with her. I had a few photos of what I had in mind and we landed on doing a multi-dimensional caramel brown balayage foilyage. It came out better than I expected. I honestly can't remember leaving a salon chair so thrilled. Phree was fast and efficient with the foils, using a technique I never experienced where she teased back some of the hair and used a blow dryer to make the blending of bleached and unbleached hair look very natural. I did not want harsh zebra stripe hair and this technique gave me a sun kissed look. It should also be low maintenance (I don't have much disposable income for my hair). She gave me a nice hair wash (2x, because after the bleach, she painted my hair with 2 colors to darken it to the colors I asked for). She also gave me a trim and styled me up. Total time in the chair was around 3 hours but it was a transformation for me in terms of my confidence and happiness with my appearance. Dada salon notes- Parking in the Ala moana hotel or across the street at Ala moana near macy's. Their cafe was smelling good while I was getting my hair done. I didn't try it but I might have to go back and check it out. Salon is HUGE! Lots of stylists were doing their thing all around us. The salon seems like no frills, simple decor, not a "here's a glass of champagne with your hair treatment" type of salon. Waiting area was simple with a tv and a few chairs. read more

I been coming here for the milbon treatment and for the first time I was charge for drying my hair of $62. Upon arrival no one was able to check me in so I decided to wait in the waiting area after 10 min appointment schedule time the receptionist came up to me asking if I was seeing this so on so stylist would not to be mention. No apology whatsover of why the stylist was running behind nor explanation. And after checkout I even have a more bitter experience when the stylist wanted to charge me $62 to dry my hair. Mind you that I have done this treatment 3x from the salon and never was charged seperately to dry my hair. They also forgot to give me the takehome products that comes with the treatment. Its my birthday month so I chose Dada Spa Salon since it was in my budget range. *Booking* My birthday was on May 5 so I last minute thought about having a self care day on May 8 with my best friend. I tried to make an online booking on the website but it wasn't allowing me since there was an error inputting my cellphone number? So I decided to DM them on their Instagram. Whoever is running the Instagram, thank you for your quick response and also accommodating to my needs! I asked them if they take in me and my friend in for a Deluxe Headspa but I wanted to make sure that we're having the service at the same time. They said they'll let me know when they find a 2nd stylist that can come in, two days later they called me back and were able to fulfill my request :) great communication! *Location & Parking* As of 2022, its located inside the Ala Moana Hotel. When you walk in the lobby you'll see the hotel check in desk and to the left side of them you'll see a hallway of elevators. Go inside any of them and go to the 3rd floor, you'll then see Dada Spa Salon & Cafe and the hotel pool area. We parked in Ala Moana shopping center parking that's closest to the hotel since its right next door and free, walking distance was only 3 minutes. *Customer service* We were greeted by two of the receptionists, they were very welcoming, offered us water, and ask us to have a seat in their waiting area or use the bathroom (located right next door to the Salon and elevator lobby). *Deluxe Headspa Treatment* You'll be then be greeted by the stylists, the person I had was Taysha and my friend got Angie. They lead us to a closet where we change out to their robes so make sure you remove your earrings, necklaces, and bra then you leave your clothes on the hangers. Taysha brought us to a dim room that had several beds with hair wash stations. I lay down she then put a blanket over me and gave the best deluxe head massage of my life! From all the head to neck and shoulders, I never felt so relaxed, knots all loosened up, and felt very refreshed! She really knew what she's doing and made sure she didn't tug my hair or scratch my scalp. I would honestly pay more for a longer session haha. After the headspa she wraps my hair in a towel and then she leads me to her work station to style my hair so I went with the curly option. She's very confident in her work and also does wedding hairstyling too! **************************** From the communication to the service, the overall experience has exceeded my expectations! I have been going to my hair stylist, Mersadeez, for about five years now. I met her when she worked at the Dada location on Sheridan St. and have been with her ever since. Mersadeez is really incredible at what she does and even though it can be a little bit pricey it is definitely worth it! I have been able to go through a spectrum of colors on my hair. Starting off with balayage highlights. Then she helped me create a platinum blonde look, which I never thought I would be able to do. I kept this look up for about a year and Mersadeez pulled it off beautifully every time. My hair never came out orange or brassy and it always felt super healthy. She has been able to transition me back to a shiny dark haired brunette and now she keeps me looking refreshed with the face framing money piece! If you are thinking of trying/ experimenting a new look I would definitely recommend going to my girl. I promise you will not be disappointed. I came out here for a girl's day get together and not only was the hair massage magical, but it was nice to get my hair curled and spruced up (since I normally don't do much with my hair). After we got our hair done, we ate at the Cafe and was very satisfied with what we ordered. We had the pastrami sandwich, the cheeseburger, and the croissant club BLT. The pastrami sandwich was oily, but come on...that's what makes a pastrami sandwich right? The pastrami itself was delicious and all of the breads are homemade. While I was excited to get my haircut since this place was recommended by many. I was terribly disappointed. I did my very first Korean contour facial experience with Mila and I was so amazed at her skill and strength. I am really tight around my shoulders because I work out and dance a ton, but Mila was able to adjust my problem areas that I felt completely rejuvenated after. I was shocked LOL. That's only the massage part. The facial was amazing and I wasn't sure what was happening because I just closed my eyes and let everything happen as it did but wow the results are immediate. Recently visited with my son. We're on vacation and he wanted a pink stripe in his hair. I called and made an appointment, the receptionist recommended Stacey. We arrived and spent a few minutes with Stacey taking about my boy's hair, how he wanted it, and the reality of being 12 and usually just having it hang in his face. Stacey made some great recommendations, and we left him in her hands. 2 hours later we came back and he was beaming! She did a great job and he felt like a million bucks. Stacey warned us that pink fades fast, and the combination of sin, sea and pool certainly did full it out. But Stacey gave us a tip on what to get to touch it up, and it's working great. I really enjoyed my experience at Dada Salon. Like other reviews frequently mention, they do struggle with punctuality. My first stylist was 30 minutes late but he did let me know that there was a delay and was very sweet and apologetic. However, if you can get past that, this is an amazing all-in-one salon for you. I received two treatments: 1. Headspa from Bronson - sooooo relaxing and it was such an amazing experience. He did a great job on my blowout and even went the extra mile to show me how to mimic the look at home. 2. Korean Contour Facial - omg, so painful because the results are immediate! Alice helped me with this facial and she was pulling and pushing into my face. It does not feel like a facial, and more like a massage to the face. It definitely wasn't a relaxing facial, but I did enjoy how sculpted and skinny I looked immediately after the treatment. I recommend this facial if you're someone who loves intensive beauty treatments, but I don't think this facial would be good for someone who wants to relax and chill during their facial. read more
