I shopped at the Marshalls & HomeGoods located in the Palmer Square Shopping Center last week when I was in New Rochelle. The store itself has a spacious layout and is well maintained with organized items and tidy aisles. I found some good shoe deals on the Marshalls side, and gourmet snacks on the HomeGoods side. Lines at the registers moved quickly. The only forewarning about going to this location is the parking deck. The store entrance is on the second level of the deck. Please be alert while driving in the deck; I saw a SUV nearly clip someone on foot walking with their bags to their car. Not a lot of space. read more

Worst Marshals experience of my life. Firstly, I found damaged Danskin sneakers on the shelf in my size. The damage was to the inside of the shoe. But they also, weren't tagged. I found another pair in another size. I went to ask for a discount and was accused of putting my own shoes on the shelf and asking for a discount. They Repeatedly falsely accused me. It was horrible. I left and won't be returning to those incompetent and lazy people. read more

The associates and coworkers are very friendly and helpful. Lots of inventory and merchandise to buy for very good prices. The managers on the other hand are very exploitative of the employees always pressuring them to get the store credit card. I witnessed firsthand how the managers pressure them, and it almost pained me to see the exasperation in their eyes. This is a job that clearly values profit over the people working there. Treat the employees better and maybe I'll consider giving a better rating. read more

Like an earlier review said, this place is very similar to TJ Maxx in that you can get your home goods and beauty/clothing/personal goods in one place. It is a huge store and they have a lot of very cool and quirky offerings. If I were a college student or trying to outfit my first apartment cheaply I would come here. The parking situation leaves a lot to be desired and can get a bit annoying, but it's fine during off times. The line can be long, but I feel like if you have been to any discount retailer, you know this, or should expect it. The salespeople on the floor are nonexistent, mostly because they are trying to keep the store clean, which I appreciate. The people at the register are nice enough. I would come here more often if I were in the area. read more

I love this location. It is a 2 for 1 store - Homegoods and Marshalls in the same location what more could you ask for. It is located in a shopping center so you can do alot of one stop shopping (groceries, wine, Starbucks, and Fedex) in this area. As soon as you walk into the store you are greeted by the seasonal items and for this visit it was Fall and Halloween themed items. They even had all things salted caramel and pumpkin spice which is my favorite! This store is very organized and clean. The employees are so not smile so do not expect to be greeted as well. The employees just do there jobs and maintain the store. Which I am perfectly fine with. I always manage to find a great deal in the store as well as a specialty food item. There was a line when I was finally done shopping but it went really fast they had alot of people on the registers. I cannot wait to go back and see what else I could find. read more

One of the hybrid locations - you get both Marshalls and Homegoods inside the same space. This is one of a few locations that both stores combined into one (likely to save on rent), though they are both owned by the same company anyway. If you've been to a Homegoods, the left side of the store is familiar. If you've been to a Marshalls, the right side of the store is familiar. If you've been to a TJ Maxx (also owned by the same company), then the whole experience is familiar. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is dependent on each individual. This location here is a pretty sizable space however. I've been to this location before and have never purchased anything since I could never find what I was looking for, so generally I tend to stay away. They still haven't gotten over the holidays, so stock in the first week of January is very weak. It's like that in a lot of retail locations, but parts of the Marshalls side of the store looked like the final week of a going out of business sale. While I typically stay away from these stores, there's no denying the decent prices on some of the items. There are some brand names I've never heard of before here and others, you should make sure the packages are intact. With clothes, you should check for rips, stains, or whatnot. You could get some items for a decent price here than you would from a competitor, so it's always worth taking a look before you spend elsewhere. The staff is...........ok generally. I hardly had any interaction with employees and I prefer it that way since I'm used to what TJMaxx/Marshalls/Homegoods hires and I'd rather not have the aggravation. A lot of them were busy apparently shifting shelves, putting returns back, and whatnot. Some would look at you as they would look at a pesky fly in the room. Yeah, I get it - but I also understand that they filled out an application to "work" there, so no sympathies from me. Located off the 2nd floor in a 3 tier smaller parking garage right before the Stop & Shop parking lot. I could've sworn there was another store or two in this place, but I didn't bother to look as going to "Marshals" was my intended goal. The first floor of this small parking garage was empty and the second floor was busy - not sure what's on the third floor. Either way, the garage is small, so use caution. The exit is off the second floor. So if you're a fan of this company and their stores, you'll enjoy the 2 in 1 location. read more

0 stars? Lines are so long --definitely not a "run in and get out" kind of store. You have to be committed to battle the long lines and rude employees. If there is a manager out there?! Please please please put more employees on cashier duty since they are not helping anyone on the floor anyways. And maybe do something called "counts" to motivate your workers--honestly anything will help. read more

The staff needs to be trained not only on to process a sale but how not to be condescending to a customer. If you are an administrator don't blame the cashier fix the problem. read more

WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER Try to return a furniture item (big size). Having the item in the store, waited on a huge line, as I was buying something. When I get to register I talked to three people and when I could finally Get the credit back, I had to go over a different register wait for him to finish the transaction he was ringing it. It was the register it had enough money or something like that. He called the same person on the phone over 4x, to make it happen because he wasn't allowed. When the manager decided to show up, I couldn't get the money back, I didn't have my card on me. Went back home, when I'm back to the store, that's what he said: "I can't take it back, it's not working, it's broken, it's not on our system anymore.. you have to go to the store you bought it and return it there." Summarizing waited for over 40 min, couldn't return it there and now I have to go all the way to NJ to get my money back- that I spent on something that was broken already. How is this store still open. I went in twice because I had basic needs. The line twisted to the back of the store. I dropped my items down and left despite asking staff, who are indifferent (even an area manager didn't have the time to even look at me while he went through the racks) for help. My God! Really? How long will this chain be open with this level of terrible service. I mean people are waiting an hour to pay? Is the stuff for free? How is this possible and let's not even talk about the staff... or the way the merchandise is presented... Avoid at all costs! read more

Avoid this location. Try someplace else. It was a Sunday afternoon in which I bought 2 sweaters. The lines are massive and I was genuinely contemplating to drop all my items down and leave but I grew some patience. As i arrived home I noticed a security tag (with the ink) still attached. Huge store and good selection. The dressing rooms are filthy! Floor covered in lint and trash. Actual blood smeared across the wall. I mentioned it to the dressing room attendant, she said "thats someone else's job." Maybe bring some sandals for trying clothes on here. Too gross to step on the floor. read more

Horrible shopping experience. I just walked out without making a purchase. First Picked up a few mobile phone accessories and there were no items in the box. Finally found one. Only to walk up to pay and find the line was all the way to the door and limited cashiers open. Then one of the guys (manager?) behind the counters makes an announcement congratulating cashiers for selling credit cards. Then proceeds to fiddle around with clothes and chatting with another employee instead of getting on a register himself. read more

I've been coming to this Marshall's location for many years since I am from the New Rochelle community. I saw a pair of shoes that I liked and when I picked up the box to try on, I noticed that one shoe was on display. I noticed some scuffs and very dirty at the soles. The cashier was very friendly and so I told her that the shoes were the last ones and they had scuffs. Without any hesitation the cashier volunteered to check for more sizes..this was after she called on the loud speaker for another associate to assist, but no one came. She confirmed that the shoes were the last size 8. The cashier then went to her Manager to mention the shoes.. and this is when the problem starts! The manager on shift named JEAN sucked her teeth about my concern, then told the cashier to tell me that the shoes need to be damaged. I then responded that the shoes do have scuffs since they were on display, and asked if they had something to clean them. The manager (JEAN) had major attitude and responded very bothered. She made a comment "Just give her tissue." JEAN (manager) asked the cashier on the side how much did the shoes cost, and the cashier told her that they were "$24.99." This is when JEAN sucked her teeth again and made a comment.. "Omg it's $24.99. It's not going to be $10. Giver her 10%." I was not happy since I just wanted to know if they had something to clean them or to recommend a solution that I could use on them. I agreed to the 10% off anyway because I had an event to get to, and then again the manager named JEAN made another comment on the side, "This is a waste of time" as the cashier tried to print the new Sku and discount. I was really upset about how this manager dealt with minor concern. It was not about how much the merchandised cost or how minor it seemed. I can shop at Nordstrom's instead it I chose Marshall's on this day. I actually spent $140 total. JEAN has no customer service skills, looks miserable, and should not be in a managerial role. The associates around the store overall have always been friendly! Too bad on the impression that this manager (JEAN) left on me. Nobody knows what career, position, connections, or role I have in the New Rochelle community, which can make or break. Another associate provided me the store manager's name (OLIVIA) and I will be following up with this issue. If not resolved, I will contact corporate. read more

Waited in the checkout line for 20 minutes! They only had 5 registers open for a line of about 40 people. So slow for no reason. Was standing in the same place not even moving for 10 minutes. I'd rather drive farther to a different Marshalls. Also when the cashier was giving me my change, she was counting the bills behind the monitor where I couldn't see and did not count it out and show it to me. Considering I paid with a $50 bill, I would have liked to be shown my change before being handed it. read more

This HomeGoods is actually a combination store with Marshall's, and it definitely is one of the better ones. The cooking and home sections always have some great products, lots of variety, and pretty well stocked. The checkout lines on weekends can get a bit long, but that is a testament to the popularity of this place. I definitely recommend a trip here for home goods! read more

I avoid peak hours because, yes the lines can get long. That said, it's a gargantuan time saver to have both stores in the same location. I always find something extra especially in the clearance section. Recently loaded up on plastic glassware for outdoor use extensive selection great prices. read more

I dread coming to this store because I know I have a minimum of a 20 minutes waiting in line to check out. Today was a perfect example. I arrived at around 12:30 thinking it would be quiet and the line was already wrapping around the store. At first the line moves, then comes to a complete standstill due to returns and price checks I assume. Here's a suggestion: if you're returning, there should be a completely different area for you to go so others can get in and out quickly. Selection here is ok, but somewhat picked through. I only go here because it's close but I think I'll go to Pelham from now on. As I left, the line had actually gotten longer. read more
