I usually don't go to Marshalls, I prefer TJ Maxx, and HomeGoods. This Marshalls is way nicer than the one over by me! Neat and clean and doesn't smell bad at all. Still doesn't have as nice of a clothing selection as TJ Maxx, but I was overall very impressed. Yesterday on my trip to TJ Maxx, I forgot to get salt shaker and a vegetable peeler. So after having dinner nearby, I decided maybe Marshalls might carry those things. Not only did they have them, but their cookware section was very nicely organized, and well stocked. This store always has a great inventory of clothing and home furnishings. I could spend hours here going through every single aisle, looking for great deals and great finds! I was pleasantly surprised by the quantity of useful items I found here...initially I was looking for a baseball cap and an inexpensive sweatshirt...and ended up not only finding both but also a pair of sweatpants, a blanket, small braided rug, a large basket, and even (totally unexpected!) my favorite Almay waterproof mascara right by the cash register...?! Cons: I didn't receive any help looking for my items and when I asked a team member whether they had photo albums, the response was unhelpful and (much) less than enthusiastic (basically, no). I ended up finding a small box that could hold photos.... Check out was fast and decently civil. This store has unusually good and large selection of household furnishings and decor, casual clothing....and random makeup and non-personable snacks. Well it was super fun being followed by security today. My partner and I went in today around 1030 to kill time while we waited on a family member to get her nails done. We walked through and you know how some stores like Homegoods and Ross make you kinda feel a certain way.. well I decided to take full advantage and use the lavatory. Once out my partner ended up grabbing a supersize baking sheet and we continued to walk. Stopped by the back left corner and was looking at these laundry sheets for $4.99. Grabbed one and was like no.. it stunk. So while walking I noticed a tall handsome Asian man walking behind us. I was like ohh hello... wondering if he was gonna ask us for a threeway or something but nope.. just kept following us from a distance. He didn't have a purpose just kinda keeping close, anyways I split with my partner cuz I'm thinking maybe he's not into a threesome and maybe he's down for a one on one.. so I walk over to the men's clothing and what you know.. he's behind me. Just so we can understand.. I'm a big boy.. 280 and about 5'9.. Handsome was a good 6'2 and about a solid 180! Why was he looking at 42 jeans???hmm whatever.. he's still not trying to holla! So I loose him and I start looking for my partner. I find him by the men's cologne up front by the register and guess who's behind us? Yup hot Asian security guy. I started to get a little annoyed cuz he's watching us but won't say hi.. like Manna BBQ is like down the block and he doesn't ask us out! Kinda rude huh?! So I announced loud enough for him to hear that it's time to go to the register and pay. Then I turn around and babyboy is gone with the wind. Four Marshalls, 5 days! After finding a sweater I loved at Marshalls Solana Beach - but only in my size in 1 of 3 colors - I visited three other Marshalls over the next few days in the hopes I'd luck out there. Carmel Mountain was the worst, little selection, they'd never seen the sweater (which is prominently featured right now at SB). Some things must be saved for certain stores. La Jolla Village Square had more of the sweater (an Anne Klein short-sleeved top) - but sadly, still not in my size in the color I needed. So I headed over to Marshall's Mira Mesa. The selection there was smaller than SB or LJVS... BUT it was extremely well-organized and there were friendly staff. The checkout line was the fastest! And I did find one sweater I liked that was different. AND they had sunglasses, which out of the other stores only SB had (& no sunglasses I liked). So I scored a cute $19.99 sweater for work; a cute pair of French Connection sunglasses for $9.99 - and then some Bad Girl Bang blue mascara (which I think is discontinued) for $9.99. So here: Selection 3.5 (not huge but some good stuff), Customer Service 5, Checkout 5! Glad to know this store is way better than Carmel Mountain Plaza - and it's certainly fast to shop in because it's not huge and stuff was laid out well. read more

I love Marshalls! I would go there at least once a week. You can find so many great items for an amazing value. I buy ALL my dog toys from here, they're so high quality and theres so many options and it's so affordable compared to petco. They also have a lot of cute home decor items that would cost a fortune if you visited a furniture shop. I got a cute gold full body mirror here for $50 once. Always a great deal. They also have a lot of beauty goods, I usually like to buy my lashes from here as they also have a bunch of options. Clothes is always nice here as here. I got several coupons from my TJMaxx credit card that I could spend here so since I was in the area (this is not my usual Marshalls and somehow I prefer TJMaxx) I stopped to get some food. Yes, food. The gourmet kitchen area is always a hit or miss, but this time I used my well earned points getting food and not clothes, like Spanish olives (tons of varieties, loved this), good quality Italian pasta and a variety of snacks. The store is spacious and well organized and the customer can navigate easily. read more

Bad customers service, I looking for long time long sleeve shirt, I use under my work uniform. I found only one, no price, they have same brand in short sleeve, I bring both to the cashier, after long line because only 1 associate in register, I explain to her if she can take the price, she call by radio, and I refuse because I don't have more time, when I was leaving I found in my way a coordinator and I talk to her if she can help me, explain again, she said no I can't use the same price, I need check and again I said you don't have any long sleeve! Found a bag I really wanted that was mistagged with the wrong brand. It wasn't impressions vanity and it wasn't a clutch set. I've seen other people post the jewelry bag as $14.99. I asked a store associate and showed her the correct Impressions Vanity clutch bag as well as an example mininie mouse bag of the same brand. Have been shopping here for years and never had such strange treatment before. I purchased a pair of linen pants yesterday, from the past-season contemporary rack. Mind that linen clothes are not cheap, even at a discount. When I bought them, I asked the clerk if the tag was going to be an issue if I returned them, because there was an extra hole thru the paper - "no should be fine!" Took them home and tried a few outfits, changed my mind and tossed them back into the shop bag to return. Today, literally ONE DAY later, I went to the exact same Marshalls to return them. The clerk rang them up and looked very confused, told me they weren't pulling up in her system (a day later, yet they pulled up just fine when I bought them). She called a coordinator and went to the side, I went over and asked if something was wrong "no it's okay you can wait at the other register". A lot of whispering, then clerk came back and said they needed a manager and to please wait. Manager came (her nametag said "Fame F." but I kept hearing them call her Athena/Attina?). Manager then said they couldn't do the return because "the tag had been removed" because there were two punchholes. Of course it wasn't in season - that's why it's at a discount store, the pricetag literally says "past season".... The hangtag and plastic T-shaped thread thing were still attached to the clothing label, too. I don't know what she was subtly accusing me of, but guess what - most of us don't own a retagging machine at home just so we can swap tags on superdiscount clothes. (See my pics for this. It's absolutely stupid.) I told her that I had asked the clerk yesterday at purchase if the tag would be an issue, and she said no. I pointed out there were still others of the same exact pair of pants at the store, with the same tag, so I didn't understand how it didn't exist in their system. Also mentioned how strange it was that the item was in their system when I wanted to BUY it, but as soon as I want to RETURN it "it doesnt exist". Manager hemmed and hawed but didn't do squat or have any pithy answer... other than "sorry we can't help you". Couldn't do anything else, I am not in the habit of getting angry or making a fuss to force a return, so I just left at that point. If you want something done right you do it yourself. Already disputed with my creditcard and they credited me back the money. So thanks for the free pants, I didn't want them anyway so they're going to Goodwill! Also have called and spoken to corporate with observations on the manager. I've worked many years in retail, things don't "disappear" from the system in one day, and I know stores have daily quotas - meeting your store quota isn't a reason for you to falsely deny a customer return. I won't be shopping at this location again. La Jolla Marshalls has horribly long lines, but they have more and better stuff in stock, and they don't lie to meet daily quotas and treat customers like thieves. Okay, this location puts all the other Marshall's to shame! It's fully stocked, clean, not all loud and messy, and this nice manager even gave fun announcements in two languages! Highly recommend this location. Usually my gf doesn't like these type of stores, but this one changed her mind because things weren't open or broken. She bought some yoga mats and toiletries. I've been to this marshals locations many times since it's opened. The inventory is amazing. Prices are always reasonable. Parking is so easy. I love finding that needle in the haystack whenever I visit. The best part is the line is never too long. The shoe selection for both men and women as well as kids is surprisingly good. What's even better is there a selection of perishable goods such as Godiva chocolates! I wish this location replace the location by my home in Carmel Mountain Ranch is there stuff seems to be more interested in the job and providing customer service. I'll be back for sure because I love styling and profiling without breaking the bank. This marshals helps me dressed to the nine's without spending hundreds and I appreciate that! read more

This Marshalls is somewhat organized. Window shopping is so fun (not) and I really try my best not to buy anything I don't need. I like coming here and going straight to their home department then make my way back up to their clothes department. I always end up finding something I really need (want) even if that item is not what I came for. Me talking to myself: Oh yea, I needed that sink strainer. One frog and metal one for $2.99 each. Ok, I'll buy it. Oh look, those two size 3T Quicksilver shirts are perfect for my little one. $5.99 each. Ok, I'll buy it. Oh check this out, 1 size medium Volcom True To This shirt for my hubby. Or was not intending to look for.. am I right ladies?! Hah.. I've found some really legit deals on brand name items here. The best find was a new balance rain coat that's wind resistant and in my size for only $25 (originally $85)- such a steal! Seriously.. just take my monies! *Throw cash! I'm definitely a Marshall's, Tjmaxx, Homegoods fan. It's just one stop shopping most of the time. It's a hit or miss here at times. Sometimes I'll find a gold mine of great finds and others I walk out empty handed. I was focused on home goods today. I was able to pick up a few good finds for the kitchen. I needed some cooking utensils and ended up finding more than that. I found a cute 4 piece set for sauces. And a nice set of spatulas and cooking utensils with sturdy metal handles. The best find was a small grater! It's the perfect size to tuck away in the kitchen drawer. But big enough to grate a portion of cheese or anything else. I saw so many other things I wanted to come back for later on. Their clearance section is a great hidden gem. If you get lucky you'll find some great items on clearance. If you don't mind digging around and being patient looking through items. You can walk away with some great items from home to clothing. read more

I occasionally browse and shop at Marshalls, however I will never set foot in any Marshalls ever again! I've had my fair share of problems (i.e. broken zipper, missing button, incorrect brand tagged, holes, etc) with Marshall's items & it's just not worth my time. I recently bought a pair of jeans in my size and a brand I'm familiar with on sale, so I didn't try it on when purchased. Fast forward, .. I was about to try the jeans on at home and noticed the zipper was already broken, no wonder why it was on sale!! Obviously I'm going to take the jeans back but I couldn't find my receipt. I had a digital receipt, a copy of my receipt on my phone, but they can't accept that and I can't find the receipt anymore - so fine, I'll take store credit instead of being able to get a refund back to my credit card. The cashier then says she needs to check the system. Sure, go ahead. Then, she goes I'll get the "lowest selling price" back as store credit (which would be half of what I paid). Um.. No, I'm not getting the "lowest" price. I want the price I paid back which is shown on the tag and I referenced my "digital" receipt. I was then told the policy says I'd get the lowest price in the system (points at the sign). I went to read and take a picture of the sign and no where does it say I'd get the "lowest price in the system". I did end up getting my full refund of what I paid, after pointing that out. I HIGHLY recommend throughly inspecting any item(s) you purchase here because chances are there is/are some sort of flaw, defect hence the cheap prices. I'll be sticking to my department stores from now on! read more

This has to be one of the worse Marshall's.. never have my sizes, lazy employees who like to snicker and snear at customers, completely disorganized, and an overall waste of time. I never learn my lesson.. think hey maybe their latest batch of employees will try to actually help me when I need it - but no. Today, I patiently waited for the Filipino Employees in the shoe department to finish having their conversation in order to help me. Then the old one actually told me "I don't know how much those cost - the cashier will tell you up front and it will be con clearance because it's the last one". Then I get to the cashier, it takes them 10 minutes to find (magically) another set of the same shoes with a price tag and it's not on clearance. Line long as hell now, people staring at me for tying up the 1 (of 2) cashiers.. and want to blame it on customers moving stock around instead of lazy shoe department employees who would rather talk about their nieces and nephews than help customers and actually do their job. I usually find most Marshalls to be created equally, but this location was a bit extra. Found some amazing name brands at low prices, like Kat Von D products for less than $10! Snatched a concealer for $6 that retails for $40. Also spotted some expensive contour and eye shadow palettes. This location wasn't too messy and it was fairly easy to find what I was looking for. Ended up with a cool mug, concealer and a face mask. Very impressed. read more

Came to Marshall's to look around. I hit the shoe section first as I walked in the store. It's to the left of me and I could not help but take photos of some cute shoes. The high heels reminded me of my Elite Yelp friend, Marlene cause she wears high heels. They had cute boots for kids and toddlers too! I love shoes and was tempted to try some on but kept walking. As I kept walking, I saw a gold Michael Kors purse priced at like $125. It was a cute bag and I will have to come back for it when I have extra money to spend. When it comes to purses, I love to just randomly purchase one but today, I had to pass. I have so many purses. They seemed to have a lot to choose from. I love looking at accessories here too such as sunglasses and stuff for the home. You can find good deals if you look hard enough. They even have toys for the kids. My daughter heads straight to the toy section. I didn't purchase anything today but I will be back to find some cool stuff when I get extra money. read more

The merchandise here fluctuates between shopping seasons - some days they'll have decent name brand stuff at an affordable price, and others you'll be lucky to find something that catches your fancy. What is the purpose of having many cash registers if only less than half are open? Heavens forbid you return something with a broken zipper, they make you feel like you caused the damage and give you a hard time. Went shopping with wife. She saw a sweater she liked but no price tag. Patiently waited in line to pay (about ~8-10min), when it is our turn, came to the cashier. She ran off to find pricing (another ~5-10min), then she came back and threw an arbitrary $59.99 for price. I asked her how she came about pricing, she just told us her manager told her so. We politely said no. For a second, I thought I was shopping at Macy's or something(sarcasm mode on). If It wasn't for my wife, Probably would never shop here. Hate the fact they made up the price whatever they want for a so-so sweater (no brand name either). After we said we didn't want the sweater, the cashier left us hanging by doing other things instead of finishing the transaction (another ~5min wait) until a near-by cashier helped finish it. Most of sweaters run about $39.99 and that seems fair for no brand name. So beware if you see a higher price than anticipated. Now you know why/how. read more

Whenever I come here I always find something I love! sometimes the prices are ok compared to actual brand name sales/clearance. But once you find that budget price.. You will realize Marshalls have some amazing deals!! I come in here with my daughter to get toys and books sometimes because they tend to be A LOT cheaper than going somewhere else. Occasionally I'll walk into Marshalls and just browse to see if I can find anything I want or need. It's neat in certain areas but it still requires you to do a little digging if you're actually trying to find something specific. I like to find some cute kid's clothes here especially for baby shower gifts. Sometimes you'll be able to find the same clothes they have at Babies R Us for like half the price. So why not? I've never found clothes here for myself but I bought a few of my gym equipment from here. My foam roller, yoga mat were $20 total. And they have cute colored blender bottles for $7? I was SO tempted to grab some but I already have a bunch that are still in great condition so it would've been a waste of money.
