Do you like Old Navy? Well, this is an old Navy. And it's a pretty big one at that. This store is very nice, it's located in the Mira Mesa strip mall complex right by the Regal Edwards cinemas. The store is larger than a typical Old Navy, so they have a good selection of things that you might be looking for. The staff here seems friendly, if not overly helpful. I asked for help finding something and nobody knew whether or not they had it, or where it would be. Ultimately the reason that I gave this location four stars instead of five stars is the actual layout of the inside of the store itself. A lot of their displays and storage places for clothes are too close together, and this makes it difficult to walk around inside the store even considering how large the location is. There were several times where I found myself unable to get through a certain place, either because the furniture or displays were put too closely together, or because there were other shoppers there and there wasn't any room to get by. I have to say that the associate at the counter was friendly but as far as doing business with the company...horrible. Ended up never receiving the applied for and approved card, then no correspondence and a late fee at almost 40% interest...ridiculous. I just paid the amount due and cancelled the card. I've been to this Old Navy about a 1/2 dozen times. My biggest complaint is how unhelpful the employees are and how they rush towards you, even during this pandemic. I was here a few weeks ago, and the employees were rushing around the store & would get so close to you in passing, their shoulder practically touches you. Um, hello social distancing?? First, I asked about any items for pets/dogs, and an employee paused, looked at me, and said that she didn't think they had anything like that. Then she asked someone else working there saying something like "We don't sell any items for dogs right?" to which the other employee responded, "No I don't think so." Okay, cool. I thanked them & left. Recently, not only did I see multiple items for dogs online, but also saw a few items in their store. Lol. FYI- they sell cute "Fur Baby" emergency kits, dog bandanas in multiple prints, and dog sweaters & jackets. Second, I asked an employee about the "cozy socks" that were on sale during Black Friday. She told me they were all gone. Later, I found a whole rack of them which were $1. Sigh. The store is big, but not that big. I have trust issues talking to these employees. I would really like to give this place both a 1 star review and a 5 star review, which is impossible. I ALMOST gave this place 2 stars and I'm honestly scared to go back, in fear that I will change my mind and downgrade them from 3 to 2. What brought me to this teeth clenching 3 star review? Your Old Navy checkout process. And before you assume, no... im not blaming the cashier, or any employee. Those that work here that I encountered are underpaid angels. I went to this store this week to return a couple of items I bought online that were too cropped for me, and to try to find something in-store that was a better length instead. Everyone who helped me from in the dressing room area to the checkout were so nice and helpful, even giving me their appreciated opinions when I asked about what looked good on me. The cashier person was great with my return. The manager and salesperson ran to help me when a tag left on accidentally set off the door exit alarm, so they fixed it. This is a strange Old Navy in my opinion. The store itself is huge but strangely enough not a lot inside. The store also has a strange layout. Clearance taking up a HUGE corner but not much back there. I'd say at least 1/3rd of this store is empty walking space and yet the places that DO have clothing are crammed together. Whoever laid this store out really dropped the ball; that's all I'm saying. The clearance section was poorly maintained with not a great selection. The normal displays were okay but missing a variety in sizes. It seemed most of what I liked either had super small sizes (00,0,2, etc) or super large sizes and not much in-between. I wear a size 14 short in jeans, MAYBE a regular but it seemed everyone else does too. I ended up finding the jeans I came in for so I was happy, but had there been my size available I probably would have purchased more than 1 pair. While using the fitting room I had to listen to some less than work friendly conversation from the fitting room ladies, we'll leave it at that. The bathrooms were NOT even usable. I've seen cleaner port-o-johns and NO I'm not joking. I went out and told the lady they really needed to clean it and she rolled her eyes at me and sighed. I held it until I got home because it would have been far more sanitary to pee in the parking lot then use their restrooms. Finally other reviews are correct that they only have 2 cashiers working. SEVERAL other people in the store but not helping at the registers. The cashier I got, a youngish guy, was less than impressive. Obviously hates his job, which I can respect, but don't be overly obvious about it. In the end I got my jeans so I can't really complain, but next time I'd probably go to another Old Navy location or shop online. I took advantage of a huge Summer sale Old Navy was having to purchase some short and comfortable short sleeve shirts for the Summer months ahead. I was able to find a number of comfortable shorts on sale in a variety of makes and colors. I ended up buying four pars ranging from 30% to 60% off. I score here. I also scored on four short sleeve shirts with the sale range as above. These shirts however I had to try on to make sure they fit on comfortable, especially around the shoulders. I am glad I did too, because I couple were a little to tight, so I had to go up a size. The young lady who was stationed at the fitting room was very nice and helpful. She also had a terrific sense of humor. Using the fitting room was a breeze and it was well kept. Service at the register was good. In fact, they opened up a new lane as they notice the line was getting kinda long. Well, I also made a comment, but it worked! Instead of fourth in line, I became first and got out of their in a snap. Well priced cloth of moderate quality which is perfect for out door Summer wear. I'm ready for Summer! read more

Three stars for the deep discounts for the holidays (50-75%) off and almost always.... San Diego Winter calls for thermals and I ran into Old Navy as a friend was telling me she got hers for around $5. I am a sucker for deals and being that it was next to the Edwards Theatre ..(STAR WARS ROCKED!)... I figured I would step inside. Walked in and the "greeter" who maned the door, a gentleman, did not greet us. The thermals were right in the front so I went through them finding my size. It was messy and unorganized. Looked like the store was in apocalyptic craziness. Everything was thrown everywhere, and things where they did not belong. I stood in line right away with my regular 12.49 thermal which was to be $5.99. It was about 12 people deep and there were only TWO cash registers opened. The other ones were empty and full of merchandise stacked around it. Let's just say I stood in line for 20 minutes to buy a thermal. Totally my fault for waiting, but I had nothing better to do. The worst part of it was the lack of customer service... no one greeted us, no one manned the lines which when I looked back halfway through the line was now 20+ people deep. The cashiers had no sense of urgency, they moved slowly.The lady in front of me asked me if the thermal was "worth it" and I said it probably wasn't but I'm almost to the front of the line...I did not wait 20 minutes for nothing! Everyone was pretty peeved as expressed in their faces and small chatter. Greeter was still at the front , manning the door. Understandable, but not sure where everyone was. It's the holidays..and it was the Star Wars premiere..and the weekend.... surely people should have been staffed? And if not, perhaps the greeter or manager could have tried to make up for it by going around and greeting everyone and letting us know they are working on moving the line? Something. Ten months ago, my mom gave me some shirts without a receipt that didn't fit. When I returned them, the store's system was having an error so I tried to return them a few times and then my girlfriend was eventually able to return them. Today she tried to return something and was denied because of "duplicate returns" ten months ago. If you return something, you can be suspended for returning for a year without warning. There is no one at the store who can override this policy. This is extremely unhelpful and shows a lack of respect and customer focus. Old Navy has outsourced this policy so that there is *no one* responsible. They all can say "it's just the policy." This is the opposite of how successful stores like Amazon are being run. They have decent quality clothing for a decent price most of the time. I like the style of the clothing here. I have bought the men's t-shirts, the women's professional clothing, and even the kid's clothing for certain ones still fit me. Overall, I'm giving a 3 because even though the quality is decent, the quality at comparable places is better. For example, Target has pretty amazing clothing for not being a clothing only store. Old navy should have even higher quality of clothing/materials considering they're main focus in clothing apparel. The employees are friendly enough, helpful enough and definitely plentiful enough. If they are confused with what you are asking -you are then told and not asked to wait so they can help the customer behind you in line. I came to this Old Navy to try and use my $10. Never got a chance to use it. I walked in this store and there was not too much to choose from. All the clothing seemed to be gone off of the displays. This store sucks. I could not find much because all the items after Christmas sales were gone. I ended up looking at the jewelry and I never purchased anything. I needed to aim at $10 exactly, but it went over and I did not want to put a difference on my credit card. I also ended up short and they would not take my $10 cash voucher. She said I would have to hit $10 or more but not under. I was already frustrated and just left leaving the earrings. I am going to try again at a different Old Navy location to use my $10 voucher. Needed to kill time so we came in to see what the store had to offer. ON has a large space for all its junk. The only things I have from ON are their tanks, which I mostly use to lounge or work out in. Other than that, the quality is the lowest of the chain of ON, GAP and BR. If there's one thing I absolutely hate shopping for, it's clothing. I can think of much better ways to spend the time. However, as I've lost a bit of weight, my pants have gotten a bit baggier... so it's off to Old Navy for some new threads. I always check the clearance sections first at any clothing store, but on this visit I couldn't find anything that looked good, much less in my size. So, begrudgingly, I went to the men's section and chose a few pairs from whatever they had "on sale." I put "on sale" in quotes, as the only thing you're saving is a couple bucks at the most; isn't Old Navy supposed to be affordable? The worst operation, quality of goods, and customer service retailer in San Diego. The store front is a mess like piles of trash randomly stuck on the rack and fallen on the floor throughout the store. The sales member, even if it says "Senior associate" on the tag, doesn't know show size differences and won't admit to errors made on price tag or placement of goods. When there was no line they have multiple associates stood there chatting but when the line gets long, they only leave two people scrambling who clearly lack experience with customer service. I am shocked at how bad the store management is and how dirty the items are. More concerning is multiple clothing pieces have footprints on or black marks on yet they were put right back for customers to buy. It is extremely unhygienic. I hope the corporate office investigates store management of this location because they are conducting themselves below any standards that I have ever seen. read more

I like this Old Navy because it's close to where I work and doesn't have snobby employees like the one at Fashion Valley. I also like that you can walk between the racks without raising your hands over your head and sucking in your gut. The employees are super nice and are good at refolding the stuff that rude customers just fling all over the place. I was shocked yesterday when I used the restroom. Please Old Navy, get a cleaning crew in there to take some Comet to the sinks, they're disgusting! Since they're porcelain, they're not that hard to clean. I've had pretty good luck with their online maternity section so why not try the store? Not a busy store, which is nice. Found a few good deals, or so I thought. Most things say "discount taken off at register" which is okay I guess. But when you actually get to the register it's not taken off. And then the front counter people are not trained very well to deal with it and say there isn't anything they can do. The clothing from this chain is decent. Nothing fancy or super nice. But it gets the job done. I always come in to Old Navy but hardly buy anything anymore. It's partly because I'm usually just browsing but partyly because I've been burned a few times with some items. Polo shirts for example...they just don't have the quality that i'd like after a few washes. I know it's the entry level brand for GAP but sometimes a little more is worth it for durability. When you are moving countries you lose your brain somewhere along the way and pack the wrong things to bring with you in your two bag limit for the plane. Anyway. Headed down here, was shocked at the size of the store. So much choice and a huge clearance rack too. The place was clean and tidy. The staff helpful. Only issue really is sizing. Some items come out huge. Others come out tiny. You literally have to try on everything to see which size you need. Not only did I buy t-shirts but flip-flops too. Wow. Absolutely terrible and unacceptable experience tonight at this Old Navy. I ordered matching family PJs online (4 sets- one women's, one men's, one for baby, and one kids) I received 3/4. I never received the kids Pj set and instead ended up with a pair of XL pajama pants that I did not order. Never having ordered with them before, I brought the extra pair of Pj pants that I hadn't ordered to my nearby Old Navy Store. First off, the layout is hectic and confusing. But the worst part of this entire experience was the LACK of customer service by two of the employees. I waited in line and then first encountered a young employee. He seemed completely befuddled by what I was trying to explain to him. I had to try and try to repeat my situation and he was still confused and did not know what to do except to tell me that it "sounded like a customer service issue." He told me he could ask his manager and I said, yes please that I would like to speak to them. I came in because I had no idea what to do with the extra pj pants and wanted to take a look at my order form to see if the kids pj set was still on there. The Assistant manager, a blonde wavey haired woman, was probably the most unpleasant person I've ever met. She didn't greet me and looked straight at the scared boy and asked him to explain the situation, as if I was some "hard to deal with" customer. He asked if I wanted to explain it, to which she immediately cut me off and snapped at him to explain it himself. He tried his best, and then I jumped in to help explain and clarify. She was the most rude and blunt woman I have encountered in this industry. Not only did she not seem to have any patience, but she was completely unhelpful in the situation. She snapped at me several times in a threatening way and made me feel very uneasy. She seems as though she uses her title at that store to exert a sort of unnecessary dominance and roughness. She made the situation feel hostile and her only solution was to refund me the pants to whatever the "price of them now is"- when I didn't even purchase them in the first place and had no explanation as to what happened to the kids PJs I'm missing. I told her that I would just go and contact customer service since they weren't able to help. She angrily walked away. This was a truly miserable experience, it was embarrassing and frustrating enough that I will never, ever give my business to Old Navy or it's affiliates again. As you see in most reviews, people are not happy with the staff at this location and I had a similar experience. This particular female, Jasmine, not sure if she is the manager but her attitude was not at all nice. I had bought two leggings and when I was checked out, the lady who helped me forgot to apply a promotion i had received on my email. I had opted for email receipt so did not realize it until I got home and saw my email. I called old navy right away and they said just come back and we will adjust. This was Sunday evening so i couldn't go back until next weekend. The same night I had made some online purchases and used that promotion. The following weekend when I went back to get my 20%, the staff that helped me was probably a junior so asked for Jasmine's help. I told her it was the code that was in promo last weekend and I had accidentally deleted the email that had the code but used it the same night. She said she needed proof. I told her that I had the coupon but your staff failed to apply it and here I am coming back after calling you guys and being told on phone that it would be fixed. She wasn't willing to hear and said we only do that for our members. She also said i cannot go back and use a code that has been expired. There was never an apology for what they screwed up on and instead Jasmine was rude and acting like I was asking for free money. What a pathetic attitude and she is clearly in the wrong job. I love this Old Navy. Plenty of parking, close to home. Easy to browse the store, always dressing rooms available. The clothes are cheap, and cheaply made. I mostly shop here for basics (tshirts, work out clothes, everyday jeans, etc.) and kid clothes. For what you pay, who cares if your kid destroys them. Customer service is really lacking here! The employees have the heat blasting and are running around in tank tops in November. Hey...as long as you're comfortable who cares about the customers, right? The dressing rooms were like a sauna...so uncomfortable! So there are 2 cashiers working and I'm the ONLY customer in line with my arms full. One cashier finished ringing someone up and then decided that was the perfect time to go on a break. She looked right at my as she walked away too. The 2nd cashier was having issues ringing up her customer and after a few minutes she looked over at me and held her finger up. Really? How about something like "I'll be right with you", "Sorry about the wait", "Thank you for your patience", etc. No, she held up her finger and just looked at me. I really didn't need my items that bad and refuse to give my business to a store that doesn't value their customers. I don't really shop at Old Navy for adult clothes, but i do come here often for children clothes. I find that they always have cute children selections and my daughter always has to painfully select between two outfits that she really loves (she gets one outfit a week). PROS: - Cute children selections! - Old Navy always has some sale going on. I am always pleased leaving because i end up spending less than i anticipated. - Great customer service. - Very clean and organized. This was by far the worst experience I have had at Old Navy, and trust me when I say I am taking the Holidays in to account. I worked retail for 5 years and went through 5 Christmas seasons.  The state of this store would never have flown where I worked, and I worked in a high volume, well known store. When I walked in, every single cash register was piled with go-backs and merchandise.  It honestly looked like the store room.  There were only 3 cashiers and there was a line of about 10 people waiting. I made my way around the store, sorted through empty hangers, clothes on the floor, poorly placed signage and overall chaos.  Never saw anyone that looked like they worked there, aside from the associates behind the register. I grabbed the 2 things I needed and made my way back up front.  I got to the line and there was still about 10 people waiting.  Surprise, surprised, there were now only 2 cashiers!!  The week before Christmas, and this store was clearly understaffed.  It was almost an embarrassment, and if I were this Store Manager, I would be mortified at not only the state of the store but the lack of staff assisting customers.  I'm not saying I won't shop at Old Navy again, but I certainly don't want to shop in this location again.  If the manager doesn't seem to care, why should the customer? read more

Old Navy has the cutest little girl clothes for a very reasonable price. I love coming her for their toddler jeans. They have the perfect fit for my daughter's shape. This particular location has always been neat and tidy every time we visit. Their clothes are rarely in a disarray, even the folded clothes display is neat. There is a lot of open space which causes some kids to get pretty rowdy and out of control. This is really no fault of Old Navy, but sometimes I wish they would tell the kids to stop running around. It puts a damper on my shopping experience when other kids are running around and playing with the shopping carts. I'm always afraid I'm going to get hit or run into them... read more

Is it me? or has the quality of their adult clothes gone down, but the prices have gone up? You can never go wrong shopping for clothes for kids here tho because they have an awesome selection for kids. For adult clothes in the ladies section... it's kind of like they gave up. Some stuff is worth buying, some are questionable. I think the only time I really enjoyed shopping there was for the Black Friday sale...everyone in my family got $5 Fleece sweaters and $1 scarves! So now when we walk around in public in a group we look like an Old Navy commercial read more

I used the "Buy Online, Pick Up In Store" feature for the Mira Mesa store. The email saying the order was ready and to go to the designated pick up stop ("no waiting in line!") it says. WHAT A JOKE. No less than TWO associates stood there pretending like we weren't standing there clearly waiting to be helped and one of them just walked past us without even a greeting. We ended up walking out. This is the first time in a while I've purchased from Old Navy and it'll definitely be my last. At least they have automatic cancellation so I don't have to attempt getting some semblance of service there again. read more

I love Old Navy for the basics because they are cheap. And as one reviewer pointed out... it is supposed to be the cheaper brand of the Gap companies, for those who cannot afford to shop at Gap or Banana Republic on a regular basis. So yes, the quality is not as good, that being said, the jeans that I have bought at Old Navy have outlasted jeans that I have purchased at Banana Republic. However, I am not a fan of this location. I like the fact that the store is big, but for some reason it feels more empty than other stores of this size and there are never any staff members on the floor to help. That being said, there was only one guy at the registers trying to get a rapidly growing line of customers checked out. Having worked at an Old Navy, if the line was over three people, they would call other staff members to open registers to speed up the process... but if there are no associates on the floor, then it makes it difficult to do that. It is surprising as this was a Sunday afternoon... not a weekday where you wouldn't necessarily expect a surge like that. I will say for not having a lot of staff working, the store seemed pretty clean. read more
