    store outside.
    Jamie L.

This is a strange Old Navy in my opinion. The store itself is huge but strangely enough not a lot inside. The store also has a strange layout. Clearance taking up a HUGE corner but not much back there. I'd say at least 1/3rd of this store is empty walking space and yet the places that DO have clothing are crammed together. Whoever laid this store out really dropped the ball; that's all I'm saying. The clearance section was poorly maintained with not a great selection. The normal displays were okay but missing a variety in sizes. It seemed most of what I liked either had super small sizes (00,0,2, etc) or super large sizes and not much in-between. I wear a size 14 short in jeans, MAYBE a regular but it seemed everyone else does too. I ended up finding the jeans I came in for so I was happy, but had there been my size available I probably would have purchased more than 1 pair. While using the fitting room I had to listen to some less than work friendly conversation from the fitting room ladies, we'll leave it at that. The bathrooms were NOT even usable. I've seen cleaner port-o-johns and NO I'm not joking. I went out and told the lady they really needed to clean it and she rolled her eyes at me and sighed. I held it until I got home because it would have been far more sanitary to pee in the parking lot then use their restrooms. Finally other reviews are correct that they only have 2 cashiers working. SEVERAL other people in the store but not helping at the registers. The cashier I got, a youngish guy, was less than impressive. Obviously hates his job, which I can respect, but don't be overly obvious about it. In the end I got my jeans so I can't really complain, but next time I'd probably go to another Old Navy location or shop online. (which is difficult since Old Navy can't seem to standardize their sizes between all their jeans, but hey that's another rant!)

    Ready for Summer!!

I took advantage of a huge Summer sale Old Navy was having to purchase some short and comfortable short sleeve shirts for the Summer months ahead. I was able to find a number of comfortable shorts on sale in a variety of makes and colors. I ended up buying four pars ranging from 30% to 60% off. I score here. I also scored on four short sleeve shirts with the sale range as above. These shirts however I had to try on to make sure they fit on comfortable, especially around the shoulders. I am glad I did too, because I couple were a little to tight, so I had to go up a size. The young lady who was stationed at the fitting room was very nice and helpful. She also had a terrific sense of humor. Using the fitting room was a breeze and it was well kept. Service at the register was good. In fact, they opened up a new lane as they notice the line was getting kinda long. Well, I also made a comment, but it worked! Instead of fourth in line, I became first and got out of their in a snap. Well priced cloth of moderate quality which is perfect for out door Summer wear. I'm ready for Summer!

Three stars for the deep discounts for the holidays (50-75%) off and almost always.... San Diego Winter calls for thermals and I ran into Old Navy as a friend was telling me she got hers for around $5. I am a sucker for deals and being that it was next to the Edwards Theatre ..(STAR WARS ROCKED!)... I figured I would step inside. Walked in and the "greeter" who maned the door, a gentleman, did not greet us. The thermals were right in the front so I went through them finding my size. It was messy and unorganized. Looked like the store was in apocalyptic craziness. Everything was thrown everywhere, and things where they did not belong. I stood in line right away with my regular 12.49 thermal which was to be $5.99. It was about 12 people deep and there were only TWO cash registers opened. The other ones were empty and full of merchandise stacked around it. Let's just say I stood in line for 20 minutes to buy a thermal. Totally my fault for waiting, but I had nothing better to do. The worst part of it was the lack of customer service... no one greeted us, no one manned the lines which when I looked back halfway through the line was now 20+ people deep. The cashiers had no sense of urgency, they moved slowly. The lady in front of me asked me if the thermal was "worth it" and I said it probably wasn't but I'm almost to the front of the line...I did not wait 20 minutes for nothing! Everyone was pretty peeved as expressed in their faces and small chatter. Greeter was still at the front , manning the door. Understandable, but not sure where everyone was. It's the holidays..and it was the Star Wars premiere..and the weekend.... surely people should have been staffed? And if not, perhaps the greeter or manager could have tried to make up for it by going around and greeting everyone and letting us know they are working on moving the line? Something. I worked retail for 5 years, so I may have higher expectations, but hey just my two cents. Old Navy, Mira Mesa, I hope you get things together and beef up customer service. Happy Holiday!

First off, finding a parking spot was super seamless. As soon as we walked into the store, we were greeted! This was our first time going to a Ross and we were truly blown away by the variety of items they had - ranging from clothing, bags, perfumes and home decor, all at reasonable pricing. We went straight to the home section in search for our cutlery organizer. To our surprise they had a good variety of cutlery organizers. They were all from reputed good brands so we couldn't go wrong. We decided to get a wooden extendable one because we had a lot of cutlery. This one could fit in most of the cutlery and the price was perfect. It also looked aesthetic and rugged. The checkout process was smooth. They have a good return policy too. I will definitely be going back again to check their other inventory across other departments!

When I try out clothing in the dressing room, Jeannie, one of the sales associates, is always extremely friendly and welcoming. She's the other reason I like coming to this particular Ross store. There's little old Asian man who's also very sweet and always opens the door for me because I have a habit of leaving the store with my hands full. The Space: *Beautifully curated…read more *I love how open it is *Easy to maneuver through the store *One fitting room so you might have to wait your turn *Mostly small-medium sizes, but I definitely saw large sizes as well The Prices: *Prices aren't bad considering how curated the shop is, the location is fairly easy to access, and the stock is high quality in my opinion *I bought 3 tops (each one between $30-$40) a Fossil necklace ($18) and a leather jacket ($100) The Service: *The owner was easygoing and did make it a point to make conversation when checking out ***My main issue (which I did bring up to her while I was checking out) was how I noticed that ALL the people who came in after me were warmly greeted. She made it a point to make eye contact with them and said "welcome in" with a smile to every single person -- .... But not me. I didn't receive a hello or a welcome or a smile, which wasn't a big deal to me at first, until I immediately became aware that every single other person received some kind of a warm, inviting hello who came in after me. She also always seemed to be watching me moreso than anyone else......which I thought was a bit odd as well Mind you, I am Half Mexican/Half Black and all the other girls/1 guy who walked in were all Asian or White, so I must assume my ethnicities are the reason I was initially ignored :( Regardless of the difference in treatment, I still purchased my items from the store, because I'm already inside and I like what I like, ya know? Usually I would walk out when I notice other people get treated different than me, but I decided to not let it bring me down this one time. BUT - did it hurt my feelings to visibly see how other people were treated in a way different than me. Of course, it really hurt my feelings to be honest. I believe everyone should feel welcomed into a shopping space - and from a business standpoint, everyone should be treated equally. While it might seem like a small thing, it represents a much larger value, which is the reason it's important for me to bring up. If I'm literally the only 1 out of 7 people who is treated a certain way, well that's a pretty obvious sign that something is wrong right there. It hurt and made me feel sad after I reflected back on the experience. *Overall, I was really excited for this place, so it's a shame I left feeling the way I did. And who knows, maybe I will come back considering I'm all for 2nd chances, but it's hard to say at this moment. ---------------------------------------------- Response to Owner's Comment: Thank you for responding, but unfortunately I'm now confused. When I brought it up to you in the store, you said I didn't get any acknowledgment because you were "maybe in the back" - but now you're saying that it's because you were observing the other 2 girls who were already in the store when I came in???....so which is it? I'm sure you can understand how it's a little hard for me to accept your apology when I'm receiving two different reasons? Were you in the back or were you observing people? How can I accept an apology when you don't even know the reason you initially ignored me? ---- To say that you were unable to speak to me and welcome me in because you were looking at something is quite silly, and doesn't make any sense. Considering that didn't stop you from acknowledging all the other 6 people who came in after me. Besides, your store is one room. If you're looking at a customer, you're basically also looking at the front door. The logic isn't quite adding up. It's quite easy to observe something while simultaneously acknowledging someone. I'm sure you were preoccupied with something every time a new person came in, but you showed them the respect of still acknowledging them. I'm the only one who didn't receive that respect. Do you know how hurtful it is? :( ---- While you also are a minority, I as a light-skinned brown girl, was clearly shown different treatment from the asian women who stepped into the store. I appreciate you writing back to me, but unfortunately I can't accept an apology at this time if it doesn't appear to be truehearted, especially if you're giving me different reasons about why it even happened. That just doesn't make sense. Warm regards

On the other hand there has always been something about this MCX that has been a little off to me. This weekend I finally put was able to put my finger on what exactly that was. The first thing about this MCX is that it is oddly laid out. The building is wider than it is deep, and this lends itself to a strange feeling layout to the store and it's various departments The other thing is the registers are strangely located, and there are very few of them, so even when the MCX isn't very busy it takes a while to get through the checkout line. The last thing is the hours. Maybe they're exactly the same as other bases that I've been on, but the hours here seem very strange. They don't seem to make a lot of sense, and they seem to close very early. Also, the barber shop here it closes at unreasonable hours all the time. The complex itself is also not super convenient to get to, and it's pretty spread out once you get inside of it, with a lot of medians between the different avenues and lanes you're going to try to get to.
