My son needed a couple pairs of shoes. One for daily school wear and one for basketball. Since I was with, I fogured it was a good time to get me a pair. The store is conveniently located in carmel mountain plaza next to Target. Inside the store has 4 friendly workers. Each of them separately asked if we needed help with anything. The shoes are easily distinguishable by mens, women, and kids. Its easy to find your size. There are a few clearance racks so you may want to walk the whole floor. However, their clearance racks arent your typical 50 or 70% off. Its maybe 20 or 25. Good prices still, though. read more

While the pandemic has changed the way of business, what took place yesterday should have been diffused by the employees. An impatient patron behind me in line was not social distancing or wearing a mask!!! He carried on about how long he was waiting and that they needed more people at check out, the mandate does not allow for that at the moment. I turned to him and told him he just needed to be patient because the employees were doing what they can. I asked him to back up because he was at my heels WITHOUT a mask. With that he proceeds to yell and carry on stating that I swore at him and I am a racist!!! The employee NOT checking customers out told ME that I needed to calm down!!! I will be filing a formal complaint, because my understanding is no mask, no service......this irate customer was never asked to put a mask on or to leave the store. Due to lack of employee training of customer conflict, the person being assaulted and following guidelines was the "bad guy" here. I am disgusted by the outcome!! read more

I've been here a handful of times. Once I bought a cute pair of Nike runners for cheaper than they'd sell at athletic shoe stores. Recently, I came in when they were having a buy 1 get one 1/2 off sale which applied to clearance as well. Walked out with two pairs of summer sandals for about $27. The selection for women's shoes is pretty vast: athletic, sandals, boots, comfort, casual. The mens section is pretty sparse, especially in the dressy shoe dept. Couldn't find any thing that would go well with a suit. They have a rewards card/app which you accumulate points in when you make purchases. You reach a certain amount of points and then redeem them for certificates which get you discounts on shoes. Points add up if you shop here a lot. read more

Almost every time I come here, I leave with a pair or two of new shoes. They have a pretty good selection of casual and dress shoes. They do have some athletic shoes too. But if you want top of the line running shoe, go to a specialty running apparel/shoe store. I do love shopping here as the selection for women is far bigger than the men's. Went in yesterday to return a pair of shoes. Two workers were there and the lady who helped me out was very friendly and helpful. My only gripe is that I had to wait at least 25 mins in a line of three. Also, Fedex guy came into the store to pick up some deliveries, but he didn't wear a mask. Dude really. Are you that special? I never experienced such horrible costumer service in my life and I've been working in costumer service for 5 years. I went to go a shoe sized exchange for a Christmas present because the shoe size was just a little too small. When we arrived we brought in our box shoes to make this exchange as quick as possible to be in and out because we had other things to exchange at other stores. When we were approached by a blonde mid 30 year old woman who was one of the employees seeking to take the box to the front of the store while we grabbed the other pair of shoes which were right in front of us, but insisted that we took the shoes to the front of the store for her comfortability, and after the 3rd time she asked she made it clear that she was uncomfortable with our presence with making just a simple exchange which I've done many times at the mall location. It felt degrading because she made us feel as if we were going to steal a pair of shoes. I decided to stop by this location because it's 2 minutes from my house, but after this confrontation we will not be returning to this famous footwear location and won't be doing business with them anymore after this experience. read more

DO NOT shop here unless you want to feel like you're a shoplifting criminal!! I've never in my life felt so uncomfortable shopping. The moment my children, my sister and I stepped a foot in the door we were followed around the entire store in a VERY obvious way. I could see if we were the only people in the store but there were dozen of others in the store. Every where I went, literally every aisle, the employees would walk behind me or act like they were looking at something in the same aisle as me and my children. No one ask if they could assist me for help in sizes and when I asked for help they didn't even bother to help (only pointed to the area that the shoes were in) . There were others in the store waiting to check out. The only two employees in the store that was to busy following my kids and I around, couldn't even see that other customers needed their assistances to check out by the register. What's sad is that I feel like they had stereotyped us the moment we walked in the door. What's worse is they don't even realized that my husband is in the NFL and signed for over 40million. I can purchase the store had I wanted to do so. So meanwhile while they're watching me like a hawk, while the dozen other customers are waiting to check out. I'm standing there feeling extremely uncomfortable to even touch or try on anything because they go right behind me and checked all the boxes I opened. Smh. I told my sister and kids I'd meet her in the car after purchasing 6 pairs of shoes (some may think, why give them my business after all that) but I will never let the ignorance and lack of respect from others dictate or change what I do. I kindly without a scene let the lady with the red hair know how uncomfortable she made my family and I feel (even though I was extremely pissed inside) . My advice to the redhead lady and the other young man/ employee that continued to follow us around, before you stereotype people In your store and assume the worse in a person. I love this location! If you feel like you were being treated like a shoplifter I do not blame the employees. On one occasion that I came in, the police was inside questioning them because there was a couple that shoplifted twice. So please relax. They're just trying to do their job. I came here for Black Friday.. YAY me!! Luckily the store opened at 8am so I didn't have to get mobbed at 3am at the outlets. I came at around 9:30 am and it was surprisingly empty. There were only about like 8 other parties of people there shopping which I was stunned by. BUT who cares!! More shoes for me!! The staff here was very friendly. They were very attentive and helped each customer in any way they could. I loved their selection of boots. Basically two full rows of really cute boots, knee highs & ankle boots. I walked away with two pairs of boots [get one, get the 2nd half off & then 20% off your entire purchase] What a deal!! Purchase was under $100...and to think, I almost bought ONE pair of boots @ the Macys one day sale for $150. Shame on me for being tempted! I would say that this location is great. The employees are super helpful and approachable. This store was on the smaller side in my opinion. They have shoes for children, men, women, and lots of cool styles for each. I had no receipt, box or any verification that I had purchased a pair of Nike from the Poway store. I thought I'd take a chance of see if I could exchange the shoes for a smaller size. When it was my turn, the girl at the register, who I later found out, was in fact the manager and her name is Jennifer, treated me like a real human being. She looked up my previous purchase and was able to match the items. All the while, she was extremely polite and did everything in her power to make me feel good. Went there for a pair of Converse shortly after the store opened in the morning. They didn't have the size in the color I want have to ship to my house if I pre-pay. That was fine except there was only one sales associate working with the line so long, she was definitely getting frustrated and not too friendly as she was helping me to complete the order. I had not ever bought a pair of shoes from here before. I decided to get a pair while in Encinitas with a friend. I ask the worker if there would be an issue if I had to return the shoes. She assured me there would not be. She stated even without a receipt we can use your card you purchased with to find the purchase. I told her ok because I live by the Poway store. She again assured me. Long story short I did have to return the shoes. The ladies that were working today 01.13.17 around 4:54 were not as kind about the return. They only wanted to give a store credit. I had just purchased the shoes on Saturday. 01.11.17. But they can only look it up according to them if you are a rewards member. I received the BEST customer service in this store. I walked in after work looking for new work shoes for spring /summer. I have bunions on both my feet, I'm on my feet all day and when I got there to shop, my feet hurt and I felt pretty darn sad as shoe shopping is more of a challenge and quest with more disappointment than success these days. I was greeted, asked what I was looking for and helped beyond my expectations. At checkout, I was warmly and sincerely thanked for being a member of the rewards program. I purchased three pair of shoes. One of the pair weren't in stock so the manager (I believe that's who assisted me) simply ordered them online for me to be delivered to my home. I had to do nothing but answer a few questions which I appreciated since I was bone tired. I am a retail store manager myself so I recognize and appreciate exceptional customer service. The staff were great and the prices were good too. The only problem I have with them isn't particular to this store but to the Corporation. They use very deceptive and insulting advertising. This latest trip I went in and saw signs that said "40% to 60% off Clearance Items". So we go over to the Clearance Item section and find that most things are around maybe 10% to 20% off. My sister goes to a clerk and asks if there is another discount on top of what's on the sticker price, as the prices in the Clearance section don't seem that different from the rest of the store. The clerk rather embarrassingly points to the little tiny print that you have to go right up to the sign to read that says "on selected items". She pointed out that those signs came from Corporate and she had to put them up. Do they really think we're that stupid that we can't do basic math? My sister looked at the shoes she had picked out and decided not to buy them because she didn't want to support a company that would intentionally deceive her like that. If they would have even put "Up to 60%" off I'm sure she would have been fine, but they had to stick "from 40%" as though that was a minimum discount when 40% had nothing to do with the prices at all. On October 30th 2012 I found some boots online that I wanted for a trip and checked online to see if a local store had my size. I then called and they said they had them in stock. I went to the store and they did not have the boots in my size. I needed new boots for my trip so I purchased a different brand for more money than the on sale pair. Afterward, I checked online and could by the same boots for about 15% less from several retailers and felt used. The next day they had a coupon for 20% off and I took it to the store along with my receipt and the unused boots and they said that they could not give me the 20% off as I had already purchased the boots and that if I returned them and bought another pair of the same boots I could not get the 20% off. Bait and switch. Ripoff. I would not buy from them again. read more
