So I'm on crutches and in a full-length leg brace, and I'm looking at swimsuits for my pool therapy. I find about 5 to try on and as I'm schlepping to the fitting room, the 30ish clerk who is working in it sees me struggling to carry the suits, dropping them, etc., as I approach. She does nothing--just stands there. She counts the number of items and hands me a number. (Note that I am the only customer around.) I have to ask her if she can please carry the swimsuits to a room for me as I am having trouble. She begrudgingly obliges. Same issue when I am done: She sees me struggling with hangers and suits as I hobble toward her, and she just stands there. Tip: If you don't like people, don't work in customer service. (I've said it hundreds of times, and I'll keep on saying it.) ALSO: On three different visits I have told the manager that all three buttons for handicapped access (door automation) were broken. Love Marshalls itself but some of the cashiers here are so freaking rude. Was there yesterday and this woman, I think her name was Katirina or Karina, was the cashier and as we came up we were being very friendly and she was so rude and short with us. Instead of even bothering to acknowledge us, she ignored us to talk to another co-worker in Spanish talking about how she was being written up for something (yes, we could understand you) and barely even said two words to us. I'm normally not this picky, and I get when you have a bad day, but totally ignoring us to chat with a coworker is un called for. I absolutely love coffee. In fact, I need to have two cups of it in the morning each and every day. Some may call this an addiction; I call it a lifestyle choice. While shopping in my nearby Marshalls, I stumbled upon the most amazing discovering: Red Velvet Coffee. Now, Marshalls is predominantly a clothing and home goods distributor, but they do have a small selection of gourmet food items. So I purchased the newly discovered coffee, and it is amazing! Red velvet, cocoa and cream cheese frosting flavors echo through the rich aroma of the brew. The brand is called Grand Kaffe Collection, and they have a few other flavors that also sound intriguing. I may have to work my way through all of them. While this location of Marshalls is not the largest I've visited, their selection is choice. Other items I've appropriated here are: Pierre Cardin Ties and Dress Shirts Coffee Mugs decorated with Vintage Art. Black Dress Shoes Bookends Bedding and Linens And, other kinds of gourmet coffee (including a chocolate chip cookie flavor I got last year). Parking is convenient in the structure underneath the store. There is also a small lot directly in front of it, but it fills up pretty fast. Occasionally there is a line to wait for a cashier, but it moves pretty fast. There is an Office Depot nearby as well. But I suggest coming here for the clothes - and the coffee, of course. read more

I love Marshall's but I can't come to this location. Upon arriving yesterday, I saw that I had to park in the garage. I have a medical assistance dog that comes with me everywhere. It's dangerous to have your dog use an escalator (can damage their paws, rip out their nails, etc)... I was saddened to see there were no stairs from the garage. So I was happy when I saw there was an elevator; I got on and saw that it only goes to the second floor. Went upstairs hoping there would be some stairs to go the first floor... Nope. I ended up having to walk with my priceless animal up an exit ramp, hoping a car didn't come barreling down to the garage and hit us. I was distraught.... so highly frustrating and very upsetting when a building doesn't account for their disabled customers. I wanted to leave but was meeting a friend in the store and shouldn't I be able to do whatever anyone else can? I didn't want to make the embarrassing "Sorry I can't meet you because I can't get to the store" phonecall. It's just a sad situation. I can't imagine what someone with a wheelchair would have done (there's only two handicapped spots on the ground floor which are frequently taken by the same two luxury vehicles with no handicapped tags... possible building owners/employees??). Very saddened by my experience yesterday. I just wish more buildings would considered those with disabilities... read more

Love, love. Always find a bargain that I did or didn't need and the staff are so helpful. On one occasion I found a little orange tin trash can that looked exactly like the old fashioned tin trash cans for like $5 and which was exactly what I was looking for... When I got the the register the girl was like these have lids and they look so cute with lids, do you want a lid? She then made the staff find the lid but they couldn't. She was determined to find the lid and went to look herself. I never saw any lids myself and was certain there was no lid but it would have been so cute with a lid I waited and luckily there was no line waiting behind me. Voila she found a lid in the back and now I have a totally gorgeous orange mini trash can that you pay $20 for everywhere else for $5.... And like I said I was actually looking for a small trash can to put in the kitchen cupboard. I was super happy, as I always am after a visit to Marshalls. They also have awesome shoes and leather handbags which I have banned myself from looking at for the near future - how many bags can one girl have? read more

As much as I think this store is one of the nicer ones, I feel like their hours are really inconsistent. Sometimes they open at 9:30, 10:30, 11... you always see people standing outside in confusion. The other stores open at 10am on Sunday but for some reason... this location isn't. It's 10:30, the parking lot is full, all the other businesses in the complex are open and busy... why is this store not? It just doesn't make sense. read more

I was there yesterday and the staff was so rude to me and another customer. They were yelling at us because they were "closing." It says on Yelp that they don't close until 10:00 pm. They should change the hours on yelp if they don't people staying until 10:00. Blaming the customer isn't the way to go! read more

The manager (the person they called to help with the return) a black hair, blue eyes lady is so rude. I was trying ti return an item because it looked ugly when I removed the tag since it was on a visible area, she called me lier and did not accept my return because she said when she removes the tags they never get damaged. This is the marshalls where I get all of my best finds. They usually have a really great stock of beauty products. I've gotten everything from Marc Jacobs beauty, glamglow mask, Kevyn Aucoin, Bobbi Brown, stila, etc... I could go on. With any marshalls you can't go in expecting anything in particular and it's never always a huge hit but you know that feeling when you find something GREAT at marshalls and you can't believe it? I asked if if I could use the men's room and she said it wasn't working at which point she could have directed me to the rest room upstairs. Two customers overhead and then told us to go upstairs. This store is usually bright, clean, and with a hard working and friendly enough staff, but my recent visit was a time waster. The main problem? There seemed to me almost no clothing in women's sizes past a 12, and the average American woman is a size 14. Seriously, after an afternoon of hoping from one Ventura Blvd chain store after another, wondering if all the other women in town were starving themselves or throwing up their meals to fit in the clothes, which seem to be sized ever smaller, after seeing clothes meant to glow in the dark, pants too short to wear to work, and the already overdone and over "used" look in new jeans, the light bulb in my head went off - WAIT! WHAT ABOUT GOOD OL MARSHALLS at the curve in the road. Certainly I'd find a pair of jeans that fit, some dressier pants for work, some bras, and some shoes. I left with a discounted men's T-shirt! Since I have better memories of MARSHALLS and maybe it was just my timing, I will return! Buyers we mature women of average size really do want clothes that fit, that are professional or sophisticated but on the comfortable casual side, pants that go all the way to our shoes, bras that hold us up without appearing to be a come on to our boss, and about those shoes - the average American woman now wears a size 9! read more

If I could give them a negative star rating I would. Let me explain why.... I have never in my life experienced this type of conduct at any Marshalls locations. I have been a Marshalls Shopper for well over 20 years, I have shopped there about 3 times a week and sometimes more than one location in a day. But I am extremely frustrated at the customer service I received today. The Sales Associate Rita was very rude, I had brought back some merchandise I wanted to exchange with me in the fitting room but Rita was yelling at me and telling me I cannot take it in that I must leave it in the front where she is not standing around guarding my PURCHASED merchandise. She caused a scene and absolutely humiliated me in front of all the customers and other employees. I have never had that problem at any other location usually the workers want me to take my purchased merchandise with me so they are not liable if it is stolen or lost. When I got out of the fitting room she continued to yell at me and wave her finger while approaching me like I am a child. She kept trying to scare me with the idea of the cameras and manager waiting for me to the point that I had to drop my number and walked away but Rita began pulling me by my merchandise to stop me from walking away like I was a thief and was still yelling after me. I went to find the manager who to my surprise did not possess any better customer service skills. He was extremely rude, kept giving me nasty looks and was defending his employee who obviously does not know anything about customer service. I also want to mention that there is not sign stating that customers cannot take their belongings into the fitting rooms with them. When I asked the manager for his name, he refused to give it to me apparently, they are afraid to tell their names to strangers. I then called the store to find their names and Andrew refused to give me their names and threatened to hang up on me. This was the worst experience in my life. I am ashamed of the customer service I received today from this Marshalls location. Every other Marshalls employees in the area know me by name and show me nothing but respect. I am disgusted by this location. Someone needs to solve this issue regarding the lack of decent employees at the Studio City Plaza Marshalls location. This type of conduct really brings the reputation of Marshalls to the ground and I will be informing all my friends and family about this so they avoid that location. It is really ridiculous to have to go to this extent because of the humiliation and disrespect I received. read more

I am heartily disappointed in the experience I just had here. I bought some throw pillows for my sofa approximately one month ago. They are far too small for the size of my sofa and I have finally found the time to get back to return them. They still have the price tag on them. I went in and the manager said that because this particular pillow was not in the system, they would not accept my return nor would they give me a store credit. This is the first time I have experienced any business that would not at least give a store credit when you still have a tag on a product. I have been to many other stores and other Marshals and have had no problem making exchanges or returns. I knew when I purchased the pillows that the size may be an issue. I did not worry about purchasing them because I felt I could try them on for size when I got home and if it didn't work it would be an easy exchange. I was wrong. If you've ever been to Marshals, you know that the throw pillows are a dime a dozen. Just because a particular design doesn't show up in the computer doesn't mean that that particular item wasn't purchased there, especially when the tag that says Marshall's is still on the item. read more

I'm just not into companies not caring about their customers, so while this experience is small, it definitely influences whether or not I shop at Marshall's in the future (hint: I probably won't). Came here after lunch for a quick trip. I started to see lots of cute things so I wanted to use the restroom before going shopping. Couldn't find any associates on the floor so I asked the dressing room attendant where it was. She hesitated and then said it was across the store in the home department. As I'm walking I realize I've been in this sitch before - the bathroom requires a code. Now I know about businesses needing to put locks on doors, in say DTLA, or at a high-traffic Starbucks, etc. But come on. So, for some reason this woman didn't tell me that, so I had to go HUNT down another employee! The line at the register was a mile long so I kept looking. Finally found a girl to help, and I said, "Can I have the code for the bathroom?" Literally just wanted to go and start shopping! She says, "Want me to take you there?" So I'm like...Sure. I'm an adult, why not be escorted to the restroom like I'm a child? Shall we hold hands too? I think they do this in the Burbank one too if I remember, and it's just tacky and poor customer service to give you the run around when all you want to do is use a quick service before spending your money there. We awkwardly walk to the back where she starts to type in the code -- then get this, senses me standing there (uh what else do I do?) and hunches over further so as to cover up the code! Because clearly I had my notebook out to take notes... What the? To top off this awkward experience, I get in there and it's a MESS. TP everywhere, etc. Needless to say I felt so uncomfortable and frustrated afterward I decided to leave and not come back. Why even bother saying you have one? read more

I've used their store in the past but I will probably not spend money there again. I walked up at 9:30pm guard standing by the door. They close at 9:30pm. I explained through the glass that I traveled a distance to arrive and explained I was handicapped which cause me to not arrive earlier as I had to walk another distance from the parking structure where I hadn't seen handicapped parking signs. Otherwise my cardio workout to get to the main door would have been faster. So the security guy, per my request, called for the manager. I believe her name is Susan? I waited outside leaning against the wall for the manager to arrive. About 7 minutes later a rude woman signaled the security guy to shut the door which he opened to allow me to speak to her. (Thus far i don't believe I expected anyone to jump outside their job description). As I approached the security guard cracked it open a bit. He was on my side but had to get her approval which I understand. So I went through the explanation again as it became later. Susan (whoever is the manger right now) took all of her strength to pull her phone away from her head which clearly confirmed she wasn't listening to a word I said. I asked again, "please, I'm handicapped. No exception? I know exactly what I need to look at. It'll take 3 minutes promise." She slammed me with a "no!". Then continued her personal call. I'm being nice. I could go into more about her poor attitude, and how rude she was in such a short amount of time. This isn't about me not getting in, as when I've been late because of my disabled legs before. This is completely about how she handled this. She chose to be on the clock, on a personal call, smugging a good customer INSTEAD of just listening and being polite about it. Simple. Why couldn't she put down the phone and listen to a customer and kindly explain her reason for not making an exception? What this tells me is, this company hires unqualified people that buckle under pressure that are focused in the wrong places during work. AND, they apparently don't care if someone explains they are handicapped. They could care less. This is disappointing and unfortunate. No more Marshalls for me. read more

My credit card company just notified me that my credit card was used fraudulently four times today at this store for the total of $2,098.09, three at $500.00 even and another at $598.09. I give 2 stars because of the customer service I received. Normally, 5 stars. It's clean, it's organized the staff is friendly. Unfortunately in my most recent experience the staff was not so friendly. I had to make some returns. A couple tops didn't work with an outfit I had in mind, another thing I just changed my mind, but it was the last thing which is why I'm writing this. Simple yoga pants. They were my size, the cut I like, I took a quick glance and had bought them on the spot. When I pulled them out if the bag I noticed there were stained spots on the pants. Call me anal but I won't wear anything with stains. Not even to clean in. Management thought I made the stains!! Wtf???!! I WAS VERY OFFENDED. And LIVID. I'm not one to make a scene but I was so close. I was so angry I was shaking. I told her straight out I did NOT stain those pants. I literally pulled them out of the bag and that's when I saw the stains. I could understand if they were $100 that they'd be apprehensive but they were $12.99!!!! It's the principal!!! I was absolutely about to blow my top but they finally agreed to take them back. Do not EVER accuse me or any other customer of damaging clothes just for a simple return. This is a pretty big location of Marshalls! The one closest to me is way smaller. I popped in today to return a couple of pillows that didn't work out, and ended up giving the money right back because I found a cute purse that had my name on it! Easy come, easy go. Quick glance over to the shoe area and they were very well stocked. I have to tell myself, no more shoes no more shoes... and keep walking, otherwise I'll get sucked in. I like that there is FREE parking underneath the store and easy access with the escalators. You have to be patient and really in the mood for shopping to find the good stuff at these places, but when you do: SCORE!! read more
