Today my Mom and I went shopping. We got a ton of things for my niece and nephew then my Mom later got a bunch of others dresses along with myself. Maria at the counter was the most helpful! She didn't stop smiling while we loaded things up and asked a ton of questions she ended up ordering some other sizes for my Mom as well. Appalling service Macy's. I ordered an item that I was suppose to receive in 5 days, 13 days later I haven't received it and the delivery updates keep changing to a later and later date. I went to customer service and it was a very disappointing experience. They don't offer any solution or compensation for the inconvenience apart from issuing refund. That is truly unsatisfactory. 5 STARS FOR THE MAC COUNTER AT THIS MACYS. I shop at this Macy's from time to time and I have been happy overall with their selection. But I really came on today to highlight the Mac cosmetics makeup counter as I used to come in person regularly to Mac, but with online shopping, it had decreased for me a lot the last few years. However, I needed to be color matched as their studio fix powders have changed in the last month and that could only really be done in person so I found myself here on a Friday night. I was first greeted by Vanessa who was willing to help and made me feel seen, no awkwardly lingering around for help. She stepped right up and asked what I needed. I shared with her my stress about my old color being discontinued for my makeup and needing her to color match me. What is so amazing about Vanessa is she literally picked up one random compact, and it was an exact match for the old discontinued color. I praised her and gave her many thanks for helping me. While I was interacting with Vanessa, the manager Lori U. came up. She was equally as nice and thoughtful and engaging with me in conversations about makeup and some of the old colors I liked, etc.. Unfortunately a lot of the colors that I loved over the years have been discontinued, but that is no fault of them and at least they were very knowledgeable on old products to let me know right away if something wasn't being made anymore, so I appreciated their help. I definitely feel more inspired to come to the store in person knowing these are some of the kinds of gals they have working here. Lori and Vanessa were super great and helpful. I had a very disappointing experience with Ahmed, a sales agent in the men's wear department at Macy's Oaks Mall. He was not helpful and showed a lack of professionalism throughout the interaction. A charity donation was added to my purchase without asking for my permission, which is unacceptable. His attitude felt aggressive at times, and he made unnecessary comments about items being "expensive," which came across as disrespectful and made me feel uncomfortable as a customer. Additionally, he appeared to have poor knowledge of the store's system, which caused delays and frustration instead of providing proper assistance. Overall, this experience did not meet the customer service standards I expect from Macy's. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that better training and customer care are emphasized in the future. read more

I had the worst encounter here today, I just can't wrap my head around it. I bought my sister in law a Caroline Herrera perfume for Christmas at the Ventura mall. I realized that I bought her the wrong one so since I planned on going to the oaks mall I exchanged it at this mall. This was December 20. After Christmas when she opened the box which WAS sealed, there was a tester bottle filled with sand inside. I tried to return it to Ventura mall and their customer service was so sweet but said I should try to talk to the people at the oaks mall since that's where I received the damaged item. When I explained what happened to the lady at the Chanel counter she was very apprehensive (understandably it's a weird situation). She called the manager who did not acknowledge or speak to me at all. The employee who sold me the bottle was continuously making faces and tried telling me that wasn't the box she sold me. She was incredibly condescending. They were treating me like a criminal when clearly they are not properly inspecting items that are being returned before putting them on the shelves. They did issue a refund but were not apologetic at all and clearly didn't want to. I will continue to shop at the Macy's in Ventura because their customer service is wonderful compared to whatever this exchange was. read more

This Macy is very organized and the lighting in here help makes their products stand out. I came here on Christmas Eve to pick up my order at another store in the mall. I parked at the Macy parking lot when they just open to avoid the crowds. My fiancée was also looking for Ugg slippers so we saw some near the entrance to the mall. She asked an employee if they had it in her size but they didn't so she tried on one that was 1 size bigger. The employee was nice and patience with us so we appreciated that. read more

I bought a pretty expensive set of 800 thread count bed sheets from this Macy's store. I went to Macy's because I thought that I would find quality products there. I didn't want to take a chance on spending a lot of money on sheets that were going to fray or pill within a few months. The sheets I purchased at Macy's were garbage - they ripped within 2 months after washing them maybe three times on medium cycle. Macy's refused to take them back, issue an exchange, or take any responsibility for those sheets. So I have decided that I will never shop at Macy's again. When you go into this store, it's literally a ghost town; there is not a single customer to be found. There is almost not a single staff member to be found either. I now know why. This Macy's deserves some love. On more than one occasion I've found myself desperately in need of a shirt or tie for an unexpected dinner -- yes I'm just that casual -- and each time Macy's has had just what I've needed at the right price! All of the other specialty / boutique / designer stores in the mall came up short and their prices were double. At Macy's, I've found perfectly respectable dress pants for $35. I once bought a silk tie here that looked better than most any other man's at a gala event -- again, something like forty dollars. For me, it's a luxury to go into a store and try out a bunch of different styles and colors without clicking through pages on an iPhone or waiting for a few days to go through the whole process. I wish more people felt the same way. I've also found some genuinely cool shirts in their streetwear section... there's plenty of room to move around, take your time, and no one hassles you. And when I've gone to the cashier's station, the ladies have been polite -- even engaged in a bit of banter about good old Macy's! read more

This is not a review for Macy's but an employee. I shop at Macy's all the time. The quality' of service is usually below average but today was different! I went in looking for a suit for my husband. I was kinda in hurry bc I had my 2 toddlers with me. I ran into Mike T. and he was breath of fresh air. He helped pick the right brand and made sure to find his size in the suit coat as they only had 1 in the store. If only everyone was as wonderful and helpful as him. Macy's sure wish your service was consistent in all your departments and all your sales personnel were knowledgeable. With the availability of on line shopping, one would think a greater effort would be put forth for the consumer coming thru your doors. In the men's department, I waited at least 15 minutes in line to check out. When it was finally my turn, the salesman made no effort to be friendly or connect. I had two shirts to purchase. The salesman told me to put the card into the reader before he even scanned the shirts. Then he told me he had to scan first. He seemed like he didn't know what procedure to follow. Then after he rang them up, he didn't fold the shirts properly, just tossed them in the bag. Came home with two very wrinkle shirts. In the handbag department, there was no salesperson to be found. I went looking and when I finally found someone and asked my question, she barely turned around to answer. No eye contact, nada. While in the cosmetics, the nicest person helped me at the Bare Essential counter. Upstairs, however, it was another story. I had to look long and hard for a salesperson. Fortunately, when I located assistance the two ladies I encountered were very helpful, although hurried. They were doing several things at once and spread thinly. I am always looking for a good deal and I did not want to spend $300 on a formal gown. I went to Windsor and found some for 150 and up, but I felt that they were not good quality dresses at that price. I also went to several Macy's in February And also shopped around and found several dresses that I liked for about $200 and up. Since I have time to shop around for this event, I took my time looking for what I wanted. Today I went to the Macy's at Thousand Oaks and they had a 60 percent off sale rack. I was able to find a Ralph Lauren dress that was originally $210 for just 59.99. I also found another formal dress that was $179.00 for just $50. Not only did I find quality name brands, but I also found them at amazing prices. If you have time to shop, I definitely recommend taking your time and looking at the clearance rack's. You'll find beautiful dresses if you take your time, at very low prices. Honestly it made a big difference to find this sale today. I was about to spend $300 on one dress, when I found two beautiful ones for $100. And most definitely continue looking through the clearance racks at other Macy's this week. They also have very good customer service. My recommendation is to go on a weekday before 5 pm. Today I went at 3 o'clock in the afternoon and I was able to breeze through the store. I'm never shopping here again. Unless, of course, I was stripped naked at knifepoint for my clothes, and left with only a credit card. Seriously, I came here specifically to get 3 shirts (1 dress and 2 casual), walked around the entire Men's store, and found nothing. I wasn't even enticed to buy a t-shirt. They do have INC and Calvin Klein, but I've grown weary of those brands. In short, I don't like their stock at this location. Men's & Furniture is separate from the Women's store, but not next door -- the equivalent of 2 football fields away. Sherman Oaks is my primary location for Macy's Men, and I believe I've be headed over to there soon. read more

My wife tends to cruise through the clearance stuff here whenever we're at the mall but I always dread that she's going to find something to buy because the lines here move SO VERY SLOWLY. Even if there's only 3 other people in front of us, we're in line for what feels like an eternity while the lone cashier at each station takes dang near 5 minutes each customer. WHY? WARNING!!!! DO NOT PURCHASE FURNITURE HERE!!!!! My elderly grandmother purchased a new couch in May, along with a warranty the salesman said would cover "anything." It turned out to be defective, as the footrest bent to one side while she was putting her legs up just a few weeks later. We have spoken to the store and they direct us to customer service. We have spoken to them many times and no one wants to really help. In addition, the supervisor refuses to get on the phone. Two technicians have come out to look at it; and both the store and warranty program deny the claim. Due to Macy's not taking this matter seriously, my grandmother now has sores on her left side as her seat leans to that side, thus putting unequal pressure on her body. She is stuck with a defective couch that she can't sit on and paid over 4,000 dollars for, including the warranty. Macy's is trash!!! read more

Some of their clothes are attractive, especially when you get coupons and sales. I especially like Last Act; however, their customer service is pretty bad. It took three representatives to take care of a simple order problem. I tried to process an order at 11:30pm on Cyber Monday night and it wouldn't go through before midnight, let alone an hour later. I wanted to get the special sale that day so that's why I called them. The service is in the Philippines and the level of UNDERSTANDING English is very poor. Eventually the issue was handled but the amount of effort was high considering the issue. Unfortunately I did not get invited to do a survey this time when I really wanted to do one. One star is far too generous for the atrocious experience I have been through with Macy's furniture department in Thousand Oaks. 18 weeks ago I order a sofa/sectional from Macy's which I told I would receive in 10-12 weeks. The dates have been pushed back week after week with excuse after excuse. The sales person (Sandy Day) and her manager (David) have pointed the finger at the manufacturer and have taken no responsibility and accountability during this entire process. There was no compassion and no sympathy. I was told 2 1/2 weeks ago that my sectional was completed and in route to the California distribution center. I received a text today letting me know the sectional finally arrived and it was time to set up a delivery. The soonest they said the sofa could be delivered is eight days from now. Really??? It's hard to believe that they think this would be acceptable. I will never purchase furniture from Macy's again. So many other great local options to buy furniture. I've never experienced being treated so rudely before from a department store. Last night my girlfriend and I were at this Macy's in the TO mall to look for a dress for her for my upcoming company holiday party. She had 2 dresses picked out and it was 6:45 PM and she was looking for maybe 1 more dress to choose from. She walked past a female worker who proceeded to say "Are you aware that we close at 7 PM?" My girlfriend said yes I am going to just try on these two dresses and be on my way. The worker then said "Our dressing rooms are closed and we've been announcing our closing for the last 30 minutes so you cannot try those on!" "Plus we are closing the gates and doors at 7" the woman said. My girlfriend said aren't you open for another 15 minutes why can I not try on the dress real quick? "We are closing up and that's the way it is" the women said. My girlfriend handed her back the dresses and we left. How can you tell someone who is looking to buy something that they cannot try something on 15 minutes before even starting to close? Even if we are in the store at 7 PM we can proceed to make final purchases so why stop someone from trying on a dress? Ridiculous. We will give our business to another store and won't be coming back here. read more
