Walking in, the first thing I noticed is at the store was very bright and everything seemed to be pretty organized and items are easy to find. Their fitting room in the back was closed. They directed me to the front of the store where there are two self-serve fitting rooms. You are allowed to try on five items at a time. I don't think the employees check these very often as both had a bunch of hangers all over the floor and on the bench. Where they're lacking is their customer service. I had interactions with three different employees, none of which had name tags. One of them had a lanyard with no tag. The other two had nothing. Only reason I knew they worked there was because They were talking to each other next to the cash register. Anyyyywaaaays, I wanted to know if they had a specific product . The first two employees I spoke to had no idea what I was talking about and just looked at me with what I can only describe as a blank stare. They were young so I gave them a pass. The third woman that I spoke with gave me no eye contact whatsoever. She was actually pretty rude to be honest. The only time she looked at me was when I got her attention... As I was asking her a question she immediately looked back down, continuing to put hangers on clothes. It's so rude. I was pretty offended actually .Especially because she was an older woman. These were expensive pants (around $1k), so I really wanted them to fit perfectly. I really did not want to return them. Zohreh was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and such a pleasure to be around. I mentioned I had a special event coming up, and she reassured me she could have the alterations done in time. I've been to several other Nordstrom locations before, but this one was by far the most pleasant experience I've had. The one in my city is really challenging to park in as the lot is always super busy and they are short staffed. Not at this newbury park location though! If they are busy they are busy but it feels a lot better seeing 3-4 registers open most times I come compared to 1-2 at my local store. I also appreciate this store as it's pretty clean and organized. I can often times find staff stocking and in the isles if needed. Also as I mentioned above, good parking! The reason I docked a star is primarily because of quality of some items and quantity. Their meat department isn't my favorite nor their deli. Again, I'm a little picky with groceries so that's why this isn't my regular weekly go to spot. But I'm happy that when I'm in a pinch or need a few items, I can count on this store to have what I need and to be able to get in and out of here without hassle.

That is a store issue, not a customer issue. There was no acknowledgment that closed fitting rooms directly affect return rates, and no adjustment in how the situation was handled. They did not account for context or apply basic flexibility in resolving the return. The interaction became repetitive and defensive rather than solution-focused. The lack of listening, judgment, and basic problem-solving made a simple return unnecessarily difficult. They should be embarrassed that this is their level of customer service over a $28 shirt. Fariba continued talking throughout the interaction, repeatedly trying to prove her point without resolving the issue.
