Scheduled a consultation and a surgery, a month ahead in a short timeframe. Everyone I spoke to there was very efficient and clear. Consultation was great. Surgery was great. I probably shouldn't have, but I was eating pretty solid foods and was out and about day 1 post-op haha. I didn't feel much pain, only slight discomfort. I was prescribed hydros in the case I needed them, but all I took were ibuprofen and amoxicillin. Essentially, it's been 2 weeks since then and I had the best experience I could ask for!!

There was $650 for bone graft and $300 for "membrane". Out of pocket cost was $1045. I can't blame them for charging for their services, but OUCH. I am in the wrong field. I visited this office for a…read moreconsultation on 11.11.2025 AT 3:00PM regarding gum recession and paid the consultation fee $225.00 out of pocket, since my insurance had already covered. However, on December 3rd, 2025 almost one month after my first appointment I received a call from the office manager stating that I now needed a second consultation with the same doctor, and that I would be charged another consultation fee of $225.00, even though I had already approved moving forward with the gum graft surgery. This additional fee was never disclosed upfront. Had this been explained from the beginning, I would not have scheduled my first appointment and would have chosen a different office. Because of this lack of transparency, I asked them to cancel my account and all future appointments. I will not continue care at an office that is unclear about costs or adds unexpected fees after the fact. I was also told by the provider that she could only perform grafting on the external (cheek-facing) side of the tooth and not on the interior side. After contacting multiple periodontal offices in Sacramento, I learned that other providers are able to perform grafting on both sides when needed. In my experience, this office has been disorganized and unclear. If you are seeking treatment for gum recession or gum graft surgery, I strongly recommend finding a provider who is transparent about fees and fully capable of performing the procedure you need. wish you the best of luck. They not only got him in they were speedy and seem bothered they couldn't move faster to get this resolved and it wasn't even a three day time from us coming to be evaluated to when his tooth was pulled to issue resolved he's on the mend at home. The staff wasn't just knowledgeable they were professional, caring and kind. They took they time to fully evaluate my little guy even though he was trying to elope and scream through their building. They were totally understanding that this was just out of his little wheel house of remotely ok and they strove to figure out how best to sooth and connect with a child who will do everything in his power when hurt to not do that. They also knew when to lay off and let him be. It was all really impressive. When I became over whelmed and started to cry the doctor made me feel human and that she saw I was a mother doing the best I could while my son was rolling on the ground in the parking lot refusing to come in. When we did bring him in it was sooo fast maybe 15 minutes he was back there till when we were told to come back. He was already waking up and trying to sit up. He was immediately much calmer and seemed like he was no where in the same ball park for pain. All meds were sent promptly and correctly to the right pharmacy of asking and the reception staff helped me fight my insurance and when a mix up happened on our end with receiving drop off time for procedure they still after hours found a way to help us know when to come in at opening to see if they could get him in and they did. Zero additude, no gruff and just understanding why and what happens to make us miss the call. THEY ARE AMAZING, honestly just couldn't sing higher praises, they really went above and beyond and this will be the only play we go to now for dental surgery and sedation, who also might I add are just amazing their team that Handel's sedation are just fantastic and are so carefully with the littles.

In 2024, I switched insurance after starting a new job and needed a dentist because one of my fillings had cracked. I was completely transparent with Dr. Bautista and the front desk about my financial situation. I explained that my insurance coverage was limited but would improve later, and I asked for the best option with that in mind. Instead, I was pushed toward getting a crown. I trusted the recommendation because I assumed the dentist had my best interest in mind. I spent thousands of dollars I could barely afford, only to later learn--after seeing three other dentists--that a crown likely wasn't necessary at the time. The filling could have been repaired temporarily and reevaluated once my insurance improved. That option was never meaningfully presented to me. The procedure itself was a disaster. The temporary crown was fitted incorrectly, forcing me to return multiple times. Then the permanent crown was also poorly fitted. For the next two years, I lived with constant pain and discomfort, believing that maybe this was just something I had to accept. A week ago, the crown fell off completely. My new dentist immediately identified that the crown had been poorly fitted. I now need an entirely new crown and may even need a root canal because of it. And somehow it gets worse. Because South River Dental has a five-year warranty on this crown, my insurance will not cover replacing it with another provider. I no longer live in Northern California, and I have absolutely no intention of returning to this office after what I've experienced. When I called to ask what my options were, I was transferred repeatedly, hung up on twice, and told a specialist would call me back. No one ever did. I also could not reach a manager. This experience has cost me thousands of dollars, two years of pain, and now another expensive dental procedure that could have been avoided. The lack of accountability and customer service afterward has only made it worse. I regret even searching for a new dentist and this office has made a regular visit to the dentist a horror story.
