ONE OF THE MECHANICS TRIED TO FIGHT ME! First off, The owner is a nice man, I hold no personal issues with him. HOWEVER, I brought my car to their shop initially for a rotor and brake pad replacement. I picked up my car and only a few days later the car started making grinding noises. I took it back to them and they assured me that the brakes were fine. No issues. But the car continued to make noise. So I had them replace the wheel bearings because I thought this was the issue. Still the car was grinding. I finally took it back and asked them to look at it. They said "you must've bought cheap parts off Amazon" because my wheel bearing was busted again. In only a month. Well I was upset and stormed out and said "whatever man" because I was not getting the proper help and one of the mechanics followed me to my car and shouted at me "You GOT A PROBLEM WITH ME?!?" and he stood in front of my driver's side door and gestured at me to fight him. It was a scary and insane experience. The owner called me and apologized for the employees behavior which I appreciate but that was all. He then told me maybe I need an alignment. Well, the grinding continued and only got worse. So I took my car to Firestone auto care. They found the issue. They told me that the driver's side rotor wasnt properly tightened and they were surprised the wheel didn't completely come off. So the initial rotor and brake replacement I had done at Martinez and sons was the issue and when I took it back because of the grinding they simply told me "No, nothing wrong with the brakes. Everything looks good. I doubt they even pulled the brakes off because how do you not notice the rotor isn't properly tightened down. And because of this, many other things were damaged. I had to get resurfaced rotors, new brake pads, new wheel hub and bearings. In total I had to pay 1,400 dollars but now the car actually drives great. This is on top of the initial 900 I spent at Martinez and sons trying to fix THEIR issue which they didn't catch. I no longer recommend this place to anyone after everything I went through with them. read more

We went in to Martinez and sons auto care center for diagnosis and repair we were experiencing a noise in the suspension of our T.Tundra truck. The manager and mechanic agreed the ball joints for both sides needed to be replaced our original estimate was about $400. Expensive, but we reply on the reputation of this auto mechanic as they have been there for 30 years to ensure the work is completed right. We rely on the safety of this truck to get our family around. Received a call a few hours later the mechanic can't replace the ball joint on one side, because he can't detach the arm from the ball joint - decision is made to replace the whole thing. Well, we aren't given a choice - we have to agree. And estimate is an additional $500. We pick up the truck with a bill over $900, we aren't wealthy people we needed to liquidate and maneuver funds to cover this cost. Very emotional, but the noise is still there!! What the heck?! Called to speak with the manager the following day, we are feeling let down! We are assured the reputation of this place is at steak, we are advised to get the truck's alignment done at some other place - if the noise is still there to bring it back. That's an additional cost about $130. And the time to do this!! Ok, here we go - we went to Ramona Tires near our home as soon as we pull up these mechanics noticed the sound and the tires are on edge. These guys saw something was seriously wrong, agreed to do the alignment: the standard review of the truck before the alignment; found the were parts left loose! This is unbelievable!!! Ramona Tires tightened all the parts, completed the alignment and now all is sound. Truck is running great! I'm giving them 1 star. I brought my own parts to get my rotors and brakes changed I had got there at 3pm and told me they will change them. So I left my car there and 30-40min later they call me saying in Spanish that my parts aren't the same.(weird it took them around 40min to tell me that) So I go back to get my car and as I pulled up they barely pulled my car out from the shop. I also noticed a car they were painting on the side of the shop as well keep that in mind. As he got off my car he was walking towards his office, I asked in Spanish "are the keys inside the car?". After he told me he needed to basically charge me because he took 2 wheels off my car & he also said he didn't do anything else not even putting on my rotors on to see if they fit!!! So I questioned him "$66 just because you took off 2 wheels??" His sad unprofessional response was "I could've charged you $95 if I plugged my scanner in & it's their time and they need to pay light and water to the building, & they needed to lift the car". Okay?? I got my own rent, water, and light to pay too? & why would he scan my car?? My car has no check engine light and rotors have nothing to do with the engine? & I have my own scanner. If he can't afford to keep that shop open then shut it down. Obviously it was just a half ass response to give to his customer. In conclusion I felt like I was "a waste of time" to them because they rather paint and work on a car that there gonna get thousands of dollars off of compare to a MAX 2hr rotor labor job at almost closing time. It doesn't take 40 min to tell the customer "they had the wrong parts" yet taking off my wheels alone since that's all he did!! So what was he doing all that time?? I would definitely NOT recommend unless you want to get charged for nothing. HUGE waste of my time and hard earned money. Listen to the other bad reviews! read more

Great family owned business. My first time here I came for an oil change. They had it done quickly and for a great price. I've continued to bring my car here because they are fast and reliable. Their pricing is fair, you won't feel like they are taking advantage of you. Came back when my car was leaking oil. They had me walk into the shop so they could show me where the leak was coming from. I was able to take pictures and send to my old mechanic who is in East LA. They never try to upsell you on other repairs which a lot of other places like to do. This shop is a rip-off 240 just to put the brake pads not even to rotate the rotors save your money and time don't go here.

So this review is because I've found this place to be it hit and miss. I had an issue where I was in an accident and the guys repaired my car. I would give this service 5 starts no problem great job great price got the car running and working properly again. The reason I'm now leaving this review is because I went to have my car checked out as the check engine light is on. Guys told me that it was my Converters and it would be $2300 dollars, called back 20 mins later to be told it wasn't 2300 but 3800. Long story short I went to another shop and asked for a second opinion was told there was no way anyone tested my converters before and they just hooked up the OBD and were going to do work based off what that said without further investigating the problem properly. I had one bad converter was told by Martinez and Sons that I needed all 3. I may come back here to have service done as it is close to the house but I will always go get a second opinion after going here now read more

I found out that I needed my oil pan replaced while going in for a routine oil change. I called around, and most either didn't have time for me or said they would call me back. None of them called me back. When I spoke with Martinez and Sons, they helped me on the phone and guaranteed I can get my car fixed by end of day. They actually finished just after lunch. After Ron's lube in Signall Hill, CA failed to change out an oil filter they only charged me 66$ for a full synthetic oil change and pointed out to me how the housing hasn't been removed in awhile (saw a lot of sut around it) and had to replace it unfortunately after they showed me and tried changing out the stuck housing. Would recommend these guys especially since they didn't tell me the car is fine and skip out on changing the oil filter like Ron's Lube did. read more

Took a long time to find a new shop I could trust but I finally found it in Martinez and Sons. Great prices and they do great work. Very transparent and always able to take my car whenever I need work and have it done the same day except major repairs (understandable). They put a new a transmission in my K1500 for $1500! I was referred by a friend and these guys were really good, and very affordable. In fact there price was the lowest and they warrantied the work for 12 months. The shop was exceptionally clean and the employees courteous. They are not open on weekends and I did have to leave my drop my truck off in the parking lot so they could start on it Monday. All in all they were fast and I have not had any issues with my transmission and it has been its been 9 months now. I would recommend this place based on my experience. read more

Great service!! got my breaks and tune up and replaced a coil. They are very fair and quick to fix was only 2 hours waiting!!

Brought my car for them too change a fuel pump cause I pretty much diagnosed that was the problem. He was only going to charge me $100 not bad I thought. Bought all the parts without him having to get them. When come to find out they are messing with my electrical and not even bothering with the fuel pump cause they assume that's the problem. On top of that telling me they don't do electrical work yet they are messing with my ignition and snipped my wires. Some shady shit really. So in the end he didn't even do the job I told him to do, snipped my ignition wires, and tried to send me off somewhere else so I can just keep getting screwed over to his electrical guy. Used somebody else than his reference. When my guy came to tow my car to his shop he told me he saw the guy rushing to put everything back together.. Which he didn't by the way, and left my ignition wire snipped. Mind you this is not an expensive job it is really simple honestly I just didn't want to bother with it since I had no tools. Took it to the other mechanic and he replaced the fuel pump like I told him and found the snipped wires and now the car works. Simple job yet I literally came out $400+ for all this which should at least maybe just be a $150 job. I literally came out way too much for this and they tried to screw me over. So screw these shady people and watch out if you do any business with them. read more

These guys are so honest. We took the mini truck in for a ticking in the engine. Left it there for the day. They called about an hour later, explained they couldn't hear the ticking. So we went up to show them, but the ticking had stopped! They easily could have done a lot of unneeded work and charged a lot of money. THEY DIDNT! Everyone knows how hard it is to find an honest mechanic now days, but let me tell you ill be looking no more .. I've taken my daughters honda civic here twice and I will not go anywhere else. Recently I took it in for what I thought it was the ac compressor I dropped it off told him fix it . About 4 hours later he called to tell me it wasn't the ac compressor but something else.
