Ordering area with lots of homemade goodies on display

There's a reason Martino's has been around for decades. We were greeted as soon as we walked in by a very kind young man, & never felt rushed while we perused the menu. The dining room was clean & full of diners on a Saturday afternoon. I decided on the jumbo Chicago style dog & chili cheese fries. Comfort food at its finest! Our order was made with care, everything was fresh. Before we left we grabbed a few of their homemade cakes to go. Can't wait to go back & try the rest of the menu!

Martino's Italian Beef perfectly fits into the Milwaukee working-class diet. Their Italian beef is fantastic, especially when ordered "wet." The sausages and hotdogs are also good, with the Chicago-style hotdogs being a standout. It's counter service so expect a line. Sometimes seating can be hard to come by for lunch construction crowd. They come wrapped up with fries, which can be a bit annoying if you're trying to eat on the go. The new location is great and beautiful. It's a must-visit for lunch if you're in airport the area.

Small, local restaurant with a delicious Chicago style hot dog, Italian beef, fish filet sandwich, fries and cheese curds! Staff was friendly & restaurant was clean. So many options to choose from but I don't think you can go wrong with any of it!

I absolutely love this place. They have the most welcoming staff and the best food. The classic Chicago dog is done well here. But I love the polish sausage with mustard and fried onions. That one doesn't come with fries like many of the hot dogs, but it's worth it to order some. I have yet to try their soup but if it's as good as the desserts, it is probably delicious.

nicest thing about the mid-north is the abundance of hot dog stands and sandwich shacks, they start to get scarce approaching the Manson - Nixon line and eventually there just aren't any... so here I am looking for sustenance and finding Martino's just a few minutes up the road; pull up on a too bright sign in front of a too yellow roof and I know everything is gonna be alright :-) ask for a jumbo Chicago style and a beef sammich plus hot peppers and cheese and a piece of cake then find a place to sit... it takes a bit longer than I expected but I've been away for a while so maybe it's always been that?? there's online orders getting out ahead of me too, so maybe 10 or twelve minutes which isn't so much except I might be late for work but that's okay because, well, you know... a chicago dog in all it's fabled glory . oh the goodness of beef! Reggie was suitably impressed with his italian beef; said the peppers were great on the sandwich but a bit hot on their own. my hotdog was sooo good! except for it's a little too much meat - better for me to get a two dog combo if it's available, the slightly smaller hot dog keeps the rest of the ratios right, especially the sport peppers. fries are fries; hand cut is better, pre-cut serves a purpose. nuff sed the butter pecan cake is light and soft and moist and frosted and has pecan bits on top :-) BTW: it would be great to have the rest of the box filled with soft-serve.

Found this gem near the airport whenever we arrived to Milwaukee- our first time to Milwaukee and this was a great way to start our visit! Thank you Yelp for helping us find this place. We tried the beef sandwich and Chicago dog along with the eggplant fries and cheese sticks. Love me a good Chicago dog and am not from a place where you can really get one so this was a win- The combination of flavors is perfect. We got the jumbo size which was a good one to split. The Italian beef sandwich was great with the pepper relish stuff. The eggplant fries were a wonderful surprise as I love eggplant but had never had something like that before. We ended up getting two orders! The cheese sticks are unique in that they look like an egg roll. Our baby ate 1.5 cheese sticks. She was a big fan! Definitely recommend this hole in the wall! The staff were also wonderful!

If you think Martino's is just another dawg stand, think again! Their Chicago-style hot dog stands up with the best that the Windy City has to offer. And they serve up a mean Italian Beef, as well. Family-owned, and run with pride; the service here is really friendly! The menu has a lot of other offerings, but I rarely stray from a classic Chicago dog. I do wish they had Red Hots, as well- the only thing that a true Chicago stand would have that Martino's lacks. But the Chicago dog is big on flavor and it's the Best in MKE*! It's on the South Side, and I live there, you probably don't- but make your way to Martino's- you won't regret it. *opinions and statements herein are completely subjective

So now that they've lifted the curse of the BAMBINO And now that DeNiro's been in a scene with PACINO And now that Jimmy Fallacy has replaced Jay LENO He'll Fallon his sword like U2 with Brian ENO And now that Vegas is 10 times bigger than RENO And now the puppet Trump made the nation his CASINO And now the system's broken down like drowning in AMINO And now that all his voters are phobic of XENO And now that we're divided into Black, White, LATINO And now that I will never date Mira SORVINO And now that I've been robbed in Barcelona and TORINO And now that Habanero is hotter than JALAPENO And now that I've been declared honorary FILIPINO And now I've been declared as the master of VAGINO And your boyfriend is officially smaller than SAN MARINO And has scored as many times as Superbowls for DAN MARINO And now we're in Milwaukee, I insist that you and ME GO For the best Chicago Food around, at MARTINO WHAT? This review was censored, unlike what me and your Ma did last night. What a wonderful experience I had at Martino's. Definitely not named after soccer analyst Kyle Martino. No way. This is the kind of Chicago food that people in Chicago don't even get to experience too often. It's that good. The standards are extremely high. The Chicago Dog at Glorioso's is one of the best I've had anywhere, and the fries were excellent as well - which is hard to do because I'm a scathing judge of french fries, and what most people think is great I usually think is mediocre at best. They were somewhat similar to McDonald's fries, in a good way though. But the hot dog has everything going for it, and is perfect. No wonder they are famous for it. I'm also famous for a hot dog. But a different kind. The service amazingly matches the product. The girl that served me was really enthusiastic about their products, and you can tell she genuinely loves them. She has the same problem as I do (no, not being a sex addict, the other problem), which is not being able to eat large portions of things (food wise anyway). We had a real chemistry and she was a real sweetheart. The other employees - including the woman who gave me the dog and the kids that were cleaning the lobby - were all really friendly to me as well. Definitely the nicest service I received in Milwaukee by a distance. Not sure what sort of distance. I mean, I can't be precise about it. I'm not Roy Keane on S1TV or something. The girl I liked even ran out and gave me my keys - which I left in the bathroom. No I didn't do it on purpose to get her to come to my car. Minds out of gutters please! Says he of the explicit reviews. She had also made it a point to come out from working in the back and yell bye to me when I was walking out. I cannot wait to come back here next time I'm in Milwaukee to try their Italian Beef (can it be as popular as my British Beef though?) and some of their other specialties. It's immediately one of my favourite places to eat in the city. Straight in at #1? Maybe. Definitely in the top 5, along with Leon's, Glorioso's, Oakland Gyros and Golden Gyros. So basically a bunch of places named Gyros, or with 's at the end of them, then. And one of them even starts with an "O", much like a make out session with me. And if Charlie Sheen's Dad is better at pleasuring you than Emilio or Charlie himself, well that's why "MARTIN O'S" are a famous, and infamous, thing in Hollywood. And if Holly's sister wouldn't, you can bet that Hollywood. And Charlie and Emilio may not know that, but Martin-knows.

I found the perfect place in 3rd Street Market Hall, just a block and a half from my conference hotel. I loved the food hall and had two lunches and one dinner there during my stay. There is plenty of seating. The people at Dawg City were incredibly nice and made me feel like family. Service was excellent. I opted for their Classic, which was a beautiful, meaty beef dog topped with mustard, ketchup, relish, and finely diced onions. It was outstanding! Every bite had the topping mixture. Yum! The fries deserve their own paragraph-crispy with a delicious seasoning blend, which I dunked in ketchup. Pure heaven! It takes a lot to impress me-i've eaten a lot of hotdog and fries in my time-but Dawg City would have to be one of my top best, for both the food and the experience!

**July 2025: Wednesday Lunch Visit**…read more While I was researching iconic food in Wisconsin I came across an item called Butter Burger which sounded so decadent and delicious. My friend and I were only exploring Milwaukee for a day so we wanted to make sure that we picked a good spot to try this region favorite. AJ Bombers came up consistently ranked on top for really great burgers. We came on a weekday so parking was pretty easy, but it is metered street parking. The restaurant is located at the corner of a large building and since we arrived right at opening we were seated right away. We ordered the following -Cheese Curds $9 - These were delicious. Nice and crispy, almost had an airfried texture to it so it tasted healthier than others that I've tried -Bomb Butter Burger $14 - The meat was very juicy and overall a good burger -Milwaukee Burger $12.50 - This was a fantastic burger and I think I preferred this to the Bomb Butter Burger. The flavors were more balanced IMHO -Tater Tots and Fries: The burgers all came with a side and I enjoyed both! They were freshly fried and served hot. The tots made me feel really nostalgic since those were things I remember eating growing up. The unfortunate news is that this restaurant despite all the accolades will be closing later in 2025. It's served Milwaukee for 16 years and while I'm bummed that they'll be closing their doors later this year I'm glad that I got enjoy one of Milwaukee's best. Not too much flavor, I wish it was a little more pink. It would've been better if the bun was more toasted as well. I ordered onion rings, fried pickles, and cheese curds. Cheese curds and onion rings were really good, but the frickles were huge and every time I would take a bite the pickle would come out of the batter and I would be stuck with the plain batter alone. Overall loved the ambiance and I was miss Aj Bombers and its history.

I wanted to support my vegan brothers and sisters and, having being on the road (actually on Amtrak, so rails, really) for a while, I was craving some protein. Following the advice of the friendly staff members, I opted for an order of "Drummies" (Dazed & Confused) to maximize my protein intake. I ended up eating it in the restaurant and thought the vegan drumsticks were delicious with the two homemade sauces provided (ranch and chili). This dish is pricier than most of the others ($15, compared to a more reasonable $4 for fries or $10 for vegan mozzarella sticks) but memorable. The place could do with a few tweaks in terms of décor/atmosphere but the friendly staff helped make it a nice experience. I'm also rating the Twisted Plants 4.5 out of 5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, based on the following: * Everything on the menu - savory food and pastries - is vegan. * Most of the food packaging is compostable. * Staff members are happy to tell you what's in your food. The drummies that I ordered are from Lily's Vegan Pantry - made in Taiwan from soy and seasoning (no palm oil). * Cookies are from local vegan entrepreneur, Bunny's Bite. * It fills a useful niche of craveable vegan (elevated) fast food.
