My car was brought in right away and after an hour and 45 minutes I asked if it was going to be much longer. This is when I was informed that they did not have the correct filter. I ask how long it was going to take to have it delivered and they said it was only a few minutes longer. There was no apology for their oversight on not confirming that they had the correct parts needed and no discount for my inconvenience for having to wait. I was a 1st time customer. The service for a full synthetic oil change and tire rotation including tax was 105.97. I chose to support a local shop instead of a chain with thoughts that I would be supporting a small business and getting customer service that generally goes along with a privately owned company that wants to maintains a great reputation.

When he finally got off the phone, he asked me why I was there, all the while playing with the papers in front of him. My problem was with the air conditioner. "We don't do air conditioners anymore." I had driven on a flat, and if you're unaware, this can rapidly degrade the quality of your drive. You can wear a CB joint, your axel, or your rotor, if I recall, and too much wear on these can do immense damage to your car's future. I had replaced two of my tires and still felt a wobble. How could it be the tires, I thought? This is why College Street Motors' experience comes into play. The car might as well be a multi-piece orchestra, with brake drums, piston percussion, and wheel woodwinds. I don't intend to go over the top with this metaphor, because it sounds like a bunch of noise and shaking for me. The mechanic left me a very detailed note, describing how there was nothing more discernible than the loud noise coming from the tires I had yet to replace. No wobbling due to damage to other parts of the car. Plus, I believe they warranty their work, maybe I'm just thinking of my AAA membership. After my tires were replaced, I was relieved at how right they were. As internal combustion engine drivetrain cars are complex, so are electrical cars in their own way. It's a world I have yet to get into, or may never dig deep enough to really gain a foothold of experience. Luckily, there're mechanics just down the street for me that took only a bit of time to diagnose the problem, find a tire match for the ones I had just gotten new, and then both install and balance. I bet their experience pays dividends to other customers, too, who are hoping to make sense of a new problem with little labor and diagnostics. I had recently had some work done and knew it most likely would fail. Not a big deal. Had to drive a certain number of miles. Great paid the fee and off I went. 3.5 weeks later went back. Their machine wasn't "working" but they didn't know when it would be fixed! So waited 2 more weeks went back still same story. Waited another 2 weeks same thing! I went the week after my 60 days to see what was happening same story. Being this vehicle needs to be 100% safe and on the road I had to go elsewhere. They didn't not offer a refund nothing! Stole my $35 which ended up costing me $70 because I had to pay again. I was informed they've been doing this to many others as well. Knowingly taking someone's money and not rendering a service is stealing. Honesty is of utmost importance and it's evident they do not work with these ethics. Shameful. There's an ATM right outside their waiting room and office for cash needed for repairs. Gil's Auto is a quality auto shop with heart--they really care about all kinds of cars, and their owners. I am still surprised by the affordability of their prompt service, and continue to be a returning customer. They just needed to move to Belchertown from Amherst, and have a bunch of warm letters from residents of Belchertown and other places greeting them warmly. Their new garage isn't far from their old location in Amherst and has good company in the variety of services offered in this auto plaza--Pelham Auto Repair, Pelham Auto Parts, Jimmy Burgoff (.com) Movers, and the UHaul Rental Gil's office offers.
