This is my second time coming here and I wont be back. I brought my car in because it ran out of 6 quarts of oil, after getting my oil changed a month or 2 ago. I put oil in the car and started it, it sounded horrible and was shaking so I brought it in. They found theres a misfire and they charged me $73 for the spark plug itself, and the labor for changing it costed $400. Last time I got my spark plug changed I spent a total of $40. I've never even heard of someone having to pay 500$ to get a single spark plug changed on a standard volkswagen car. They didn't find anything wrong with the oil issue and they told me I have an internal engine issue that is unfixable. Biggest waste of money. This is one of those auto shops that takes advantage of people who seem to have no clue whats going on, so unless you're an old man, I would suggest going somewhere else. read more

I took my car for an oil change and received a $77 bill and an explanation that they'd replaced a tail light. They said they normally would call for authorization, but things got busy. They offered to refund about $15 for the light, and in the end I paid for $62 or so for basic maintenance I did not request. The bill had a list of things they checked on that was a mile long, including windshield wiper fluid, air filter, and so forth. If I come in for an oil change, I'm looking for an oil change. Not a full inspection and additional services if they find something wrong. The only good thing I can say is nothing seems blatantly wrong with my car except that the new light doesn't match the other one. To add insult to injury, after this experience, I received a card thanking me for trusting them and asking me to tell my friends I found a unique trustworthy place. read more

My car failed inspection multiple times last year after I installed a new battery, even though I drove hundreds if not thousands of miles on it after. Nobody could help at multiple places I went to; I came across this shop's number and was encouraged by the Yelp reviews which turned out to be 100% true. Jeff was SO incredibly nice, talked to me on the phone and explained the possibilities and different costs, and accommodated me the next day. I dropped my car off the next morning, picked it up in the evening, and it finally passed inspection!!! Jeff even texted to me to make sure everything went well the next day! Our car had a persistent squeak, and we took it into another mechanic to get it checked out. They "tightened everything up but couldn't find the cause of the squeak". Three months later the squeak returned. Obviously we didn't bring the car back to the original mechanic, but took the car to Veryl's instead. The staff at Veryl's were extremely nice, fixed the problem (a ball joint), and took care of a tail light as well. They offered to give me a ride and pick me up while they fixed the car, and explained everything they would work on before they did it. Their estimate was spot on, and I didn't feel gross or taken advantage of like with other mechanics. The office is pleasant, with a very comfortable waiting room for short stays (cable TV, complimentary coffee, soft couches). And they're a 25 minute walk (or 5min ride) to the Common where you can go for a longer wait at Thirsty Mind Cafe where the wifi is free and the espresso drinks are well prepared. Overall, I have nothing bad to say about Veryl's, and from now on I won't be wasting my time with any other mechanics. read more

I have never had an experience like this! Jeff and Billy are extremely professional. My husband and I trust them 100%. We know that we're never being taken advantage of. We wouldn't trust our cars to anyone else. My daughter drives from Boston to bring her Audi to Veryl's for this very reason. They always accommodate her visit! . It's also nice to get a reminder that our cars are due for an oil change and being contacted after to ensure our experience was exceptional. These people are good. That's saying a lot since I'm a cynic. We brought them a Nissan Altima that had purred for 20 years but now was stuttering. To make things more difficult, her age precluded accurate readings on typical auto diagnostics instruments. As a former U.S. Air Force ICBM master technician, I understood their frustration. These men worked long & hard to isolate the problem (turned out to be two problems), piece by delicate piece, and isolated it to two components. It took awhile, but she's purring again. read more

These folks are the best -- Really some of the nicest people you'll ever meet in a service business. We've brought our aging car to them for the usual stuff, but also more complicated jobs, and they've been reliable, helpful, responsive, and reasonably priced. A couple of years ago, Instead of replacing my increasingly balky catalytic converter (when it set off the check engine light), they suggested trying some cataclean gas cleaner, which saved me a couple of grand. Veryl's is wonderful. I've been taking my car thee for three years and they've been clear about what they're doing, have consistently finished work earlier than predicted, and have done great work. I brought in my car for an oil change and wanted to get my registration renewed early. They made sure to check with me and point out that I'd lose a few months off the registration without a prorated fee. During a family emergency, our car was in with them for repairs. They went above and beyond to get the car back to us and suggest what to do for the longer term. They also send thank you notes every time we bring in the car. read more

Wow! This reliable, high integrity business continues to impress me. At first we'd tried to--we'd believed--cut costs with a repair shop in Holyoke then eventually came to Veryl's instead for convenience, and how glad I remain. Multiple times they've stood by their work, updating AC and muffler repeated repairs at no or minimal additional charge. I am from out of town and needed to get my alternator fixed. The staff here were really nice. They got my car into the shop the same day I called and the next day my car was fixed. The mechanic stayed in contact with me the entire time they had my vehicle and he did not try to push additional services or charge me for anything I didnt ask for them to do.
