The last time they performed this, some of the lugs were just hand tightened. When I checked today, they were not 130lbs again SAFETY CONCERN. Next, when I was checking the torque, I noticed one of the lugs did not match the others. It was a 13/16 and not a 7/8 like all of the other ones. Just great, it had I gotten a flat tire in my truck, I would not have the appropriate socket to get the tire off and put the spare on. I called the store and talked to Joe, he said that they replace the lugs when they are rusty. Not a single one of my lugs has rust on it. I don't know why they would've switched it out. I hope the thread patterns are the same and not cross threaded now. Joe told me to come back into the store and he'll get me the correct size lug. Unfortunately, I can't do it today because that would be another hour round-trip. Had I had a flat tire, I would not have been able to get that tire off because I did not have that socket in my truck. I would've been stuck calling a tow truck. Staff are friendly and they always get me in right away. They need to work on their attention to detail. Peoples lives are at stake.

I took my vehicle to Black's at 1201 Highway 17 S, North Myrtle Beach, and they confirmed that the CV axle needed to be replaced. Including labor, their quote was $2300. According to Kelly, the OEM part from Audi would be $1850, and the aftermarket part would be $1830. With this information, I went onto eBay and found new OEM axles for as little as $80. I then called two local auto parts stores, and their price was $230. One of the two stores gave me the name of a local mechanic who could be trusted. I reached out to the mechanic, and he said he could do the repair in one hour for $85. I immediately went to Black's and asked for my car back. I explained to Kelly that I found a much cheaper option. She looked me straight in the face and said she could not find that part for less than $1830. When I went to the auto parts store less than half a mile away, the guy there told me that Black's buys their parts from their store. My car is now repaired and working great again. So let me sum it up... Black's quote: $2300 Part - $1850 Labor - $450 My solution: $375 Part - $240 Audi bolts - $50 Labor - $85 I saved $1900!! Trust me when I say, I will NEVER even talk to Black's again. They will look straight into your eyes and smile as they try to rip you off.
