I drove from Sterling Heights excited on trying their Corn Beef sandwich, upon arrival the cook on the grill did not seem to be having a good day, looked me in my eyes with a mud attitude and didn't speak. The lady on the register DJdeli was smiley and very pleasant I ordered a $21.99 Corn beef sandwich along with a whole pickle priced @ $2.50 totaling $25+, surprised receiving it, preparing to eat it in my car. I was very disappointed with both !. The sandwich was one of the worst sandwich I've ever purchased, having better from the Coney Island, especially for the price I paid being it had no slices put together with dry broken pieces, tasteless, No flavor whatsoever with the Swiss cheese on only one half of the sandwich, as I was trying to eat it, it keep breaking apart all over my car and the pickle was old half soggy dented in. I did try to request an exchange or refund for the pickle and he (the cook),Intervening the conversation with the clerk stated at me with an sassy nasty attitude I'm not giving you back a refund, You can get another pickle. I'm like ok thank you, the one he exchanged was smaller in the same condition, turning bad as well. I will take this an experience to not listen to over hyped up commercials and stick with what I know and those who know and miss the bad demeanor and unworthy over price Corn beef with the nasty service provided by their cook and invest in a menu that I won't throw away the remaining of the purchase!. i've been wanting to come to this establishment so i made the choice to when i was in the area…read more well, there's a small parking lot for their business but that's alright because it wasn't packed when i went. one of the employee was attentive and came to help me pick my order so i appreciated that. i ordered their small cannoli's along with their swiss roll cake and eclairs. all of those were so good! i just wish it wasn't THAT sweet for the swiss cake but the raspberry icing in it helped balanced that out a little bit. however, their strawberry butter cookie was too dry for me, i didn't enjoy it. maybe it would've tasted better if i had it fresh? i'll be back for sure, the cannoli's was the best. i will also try their tiramisu & subs next time. it was hard to pick between all of these goodies... one thing i will suggest... is to have their bakery items priced as we don't know how much they're charging us for. i was certain it couldn't be that much but my total came out more than i'd thought, so perhaps each item is probably around $2 or more. so that's why i gave it 4 stars.

They have changed everything about the New Yorker. The sandwhich has less meat ( although) they are charging less, no doubt, the sandwhich is much smaller. Also they no longer offer you the small cup of either the potato salad or coleslaw anymore. if you want both the fee was another $3.00. Why are they doing this? We won't be back! I rarely hold timing against a restaurant as having worked in food, I know lunch rush exists and things happen. To mitigate this (for those in the area) I believe they have an online ordering system, which I would recommend utilizing! Secondly, they do not have indoor seating, so it is a very grab and go type establishment. This is counteracted by the multitude of benches around Royal Oak, though it would be nice to have some amount of seating, especially for those with accessibility needs and those waiting on their food.
